The mag of the confuses first application is affected by Domination.
So its still very useful for laying it on the boss with Domination up, and watching the rest get confused from him.
The sleep patch is easily permable and very effective control and endurance boost for a dominator, which instant aoe control isnt there, its a fun and different dominator set. -
Quote:No, you miss my point. For most people this is exactly what inherent Fitness will do. The vast majority of people took the Fitness pool. Those people have effectively been given a 5th power pool in i19. And those who didn't at least have been given a free boost to endurance, regen, run, fly, and jump speed.
I'm saying that yay i can take hover, but i dont want air superiority, fly or group fly
Combat jumping, but i don't want jump kick, SJ or acro
Recall friend, but i dont want teleport, foe tp or group.
Theres a few pools which on many of my characters, while 1 power might be useful (i consider hover and recall to be excelent powers any character can use, esp in end game) but the rest of the powers in the pool, I simply dont want.
So while moving 3 power picks into an inherant is nice and freeing up 3 power choices for me unless I am willing to go the Stealth Pool 3 for 3 with LOTGs, or taking Leadership because it will be the new FoTM to have, which I'm not willing to do on every character, then opening a 5th pool up to for people to select from will open up a wider range of 'utility' or 'concept' picks, instead of Set/Proc mules and massive team force manipulation. -
Quote:That was how i took it.Hm, makes a sort of sense if you're stealthing everything.
If you're only killing the boss room and skipping the majority of enemies, you'll need to do more missions to hit 50. Thus the stalker will need to do more content to get to 50 then a non-stealth character.
Is that what the OP meant? I have no idea. -
Disagree, the AT is not percieved as a boon to teams compared to other ATs, and may well be left out of harder team content.
Counterpoint; Illusion/* trollers. Full stealth as a Primary power choice, buff secondary makes it team friendly. -
I would like to see 5 power pools be selectable, instead of 4, theres precious little that most pools offer beyond 1 or 2 good powers, and since the majority of my characters will be selecting from pools rather than secondary or primary powers they skipped, it would be nice to be able to take a choice from another pool.

While my fire / rad isnt high level, my earth / rad is 50, so my experience of rad as secondary, and how it may work with fire;
Choking cloud, I would fit ito my build. 5 slotted with 4x Bas gaze for a 7.5% recharge bonus, and 1 of the Lockdown Mag 2 hold proc. This should act as a means of stopping runners from your damage toggle, and lockdown their mean melee agro from slapping you up.
EM pulse, as a ranged troller I never use(d) respeced out of it now. I never found a "oh sheep" moment were it would have been effective. But then Earth has enough control that it was probably overkill, it may prove useful for fire, id have to see how it plays tbh to make a decision, but I would be tempted to take it and see how much i use it first. With imps out, and mobs locked down, the momentary loss of recovery should be manageable. -
its refreshing and nice to feel not only that the Dev team asked our opinions, but even listened to us and didn't just roll with the majority. So thank you very much David.

Quote:You clearly do not understand the hoarding mentallity I and others have.INSPIRATIONS
For the love of god, people--if you wipe, and are laying on the floor dead, and I can't trade you a wakie because you are DEAD with a FULL INVENTORY, I'M GOING TO LEAVE YOU THERE. It's even worse on level 50 characters. Really? You have 20 INSPIRATIONS that weren't useful in a fight you just lost?
What if i'll need them later? -
they only seem to like throwing out jolting chains at the start of a fight, the rest of the time they love their melee attacks, and with chase runners with a reckless abandon ive quite simply never seen.
90% of my post 32 deaths can be attributed to the gremlins. -
Quote:really!?I haven't gotten high enough to test that, BUT I did slot a Call of the Sandman +heal proc and it goes off ocassionally at the casting at every so often from critters in the field.
I get 58-51 pts healed each time it goes off at level 43. I'm not sure what causes the different amounts. Maybe it's minions and lts? Sometime's I'll even get multiple hits of the proc, which is very nice.
So since the heal proc goes off of static field's tics, I'm guessing the placate proc will too.
I may have to experiment with that then as theres no reason it should go off on anything but the casting.
EDIT: I have done some testing. On Casting it has a chance to heal you.
It seems that every 10 seconds (or it may be everytime the pulse triggers, i dont know, but its irrelevant.) theres a chance to heal the pseduopet.
This green number on you and on the pseduopet shows up. so you were probably tricked by that.
EDIT 2: Tested on some bigger mobs, pet got healed multipled times on pulses at times. So best bet, triggers when it pulses a sleep. still ireelvant, as its working as intended only healing the pet, which can be injured. -

I have seen this advertisement alot lately... and when you click the link it sends you to a camalot type game.
I have never actually seen City of Heroes used for anything other than this game.
So, I remember not so long ago people were all about City of Heroes 2 being copyrighted, I think.
Are people allowed to use City of Heroes for games other than this game?
the game isnt called City of heroes. It just means "oh i seem to be an advert capable of invading your privacy and see you like a certain game, so im gonna pretend my game thats nothing like it, is like it to get your click"
Nothing illegal there, just wildly poor targeted marketing.
The illegal part is that they've used graphics from Guild Wars (namely the release images of the Derrvish class) in their advertising, for which they have been reported to FB for by myself. -
Quote:Preferable yes, but since the majority of this thread looks to be about 50/50. Maybe its the middle ground thats needed. I know that ultimately means more people have to get involved, and that perhaps the fix up time may be longer. But if your working on the textures, wouldn't reshuffling the menu be someone elses responsibility, and not take too much away from your (teams) time, or is the costume menu organisation in your responsibilities. One thing to consider is that redo-ing the menus and placement of items within them is, in itself, a significant amount of work for the Character and Tech teams. Assume that any menu work will consume 50% of the time available for any redos.
Bottom line, avoiding menu work is preferable and brings us back to Options 1 and 2.
Regardless, if we're saying thats unfeasable, then I stick with my original response. a number 2 for me please. -
By that logic, so is simply paying the subscription fee.
I think the new forum rules are stupid, I fail to see the point. If I want to discuss the virtues of xxxxxxx game, i'll go use their forums, and I have a pretty short attention span, if i'm on their forums, I could forget about these ones and this game altogether!
But is it gonna stop me buying a booster I deem worth it (I don't for this one, regardless of price) no. Is it gonna stop me subbing, no. -
Quote:I'm always much more interested to see where Kurt ios going than Flinn and Rachel, and I always feel ahrd done by when his little story wraps up, of fails to wrap up very quickly.Glee. Pick a character that isn't Rachel, Finn, or Mr. Schuester. Pick a card, any card. It's a three card monty and the whole deck is queens!
Back on topic;
I thought that the sub-plot of Good vs Evil, Jedi vs Sith and the inner struggles of one man with his demons was much more enjoyable than the love story that was Star Wars Eps 1 - 3. -
One option would be to add a toggle option into the costume creator. or a "a master selector" to the top. Say below costume sets and above head add...
<All Costume Parts> - <Improved Costume Parts> - <Legacy Costume Parts>
this ay players from the top of costume design can choose to remove to clutter of older stuff if they want to. -

Quote:Then we share a common interest there. The Villain ATs are different. I am in total agreement with you there. But while others may be more insistent on playing specific powersets on specific ATs, I am less bothered by this, but instead am Insistent on playing Heroes only. That's just me
However I find tanks labourious, so would prefer their attack sets proliferate to scrappers.
While actually the dominator assault sets I love, and wouldnt care if they went to a blaster since I dont much like that AT. So i guess we all have our priorities with what we want.
I do overall agree however that I would love them to be churning out new powerset after new powerset, but I would really really love it if while they were doing that, they made every AT that could have a certain set have it.
I just dont want them to give up on proliferation now that we can play every AT as a Hero if we were to want to. -
Option 2. Its happened before when old stuff got modded over, like the metalic stuff getting reflections when people have wanted it turned back, so yeah, new players may find the creator a bit of a doozy if it gets crowded, but older players would, in general, prefer it more.
What I would really like to see now that your in arts lead is a sweep of the colour conformity. It has been my biggest problem with the costume editor for a very long time that selecting the same colour across different pieces comes out grossly different in some instances, even on pieces that are supposed to be matte textured, though the majority of these issues occur for me around matte vs a different texture.
Perhaps (and i know its a helluva lot of work) but textures could be added to all pieces to allow for matte/leather/metalic apperances. -
Quote:Now that Going Rogue has arrived on the scene, I think that direct proliferation is less important overall. Any villain side sets that I did not have access to are now available, provided I am willing to roll a different AT.
Thats just silly. Sure for scrappers/brutes, Defenders or Corruptors, theres some level of similarity. But im sure that big fans of one will tell you that the other plays much differently.
But look at Dominators and Controllers, they share a primary and their playstyle couldn't be more different. GR doesnt show the need for less proliferation, it highlights the need for more. -
Quote:They've just given us 4 new power sets, albeit as part of a paid expansion. We know that the powers team were tweaking 2 of those up until launch, while 2 had been completed months before.End game content will be the main focus of the issue.
A new powerset which will be teased at in about 2/3 months will be shown. Possibly the staff set.
New tip missions.
The next letter in the coming storm saga which teases that it is closer than ever and for us to prepare for it [expect the higher incarnate system to be tied in to it]
A reworked taskforce.
Its a safe bet that i19 will definately not have new powers, and my money would be on i20 also not having new powers. i21 maybe, but considering the demand we place on them, and the standard they set themselves with Demon Summoning whip animations, i20 is, imo too soon. -

For some reason these all corrupt the PvP IOs to not have their image appear. No biggy though.
But importing an old enhancement database breaks mids completely -
Quote:Hmm. My general answer for every AT would be 'every apropriate set they don't already have',
qft
apart from creating an illusion of "additional content" with each round of proliferation theres no reason not to.
Infact the whole time a set isnt proliferated to something I want, I just get a little bit more of a feeling like they are witholding content from me. -
while rolling will give you 5 recipes in your chosen area, so you oculd get a few 100mil plus recipes.
You could just examine the market for the best selling recipes/crafted. and do that. Possibly more bang for your buck.
For example, LoTG proc is 2 merits, get 1 more merit and you oculd vend 3 of them, netting yourself a fair amount.
