Can I step up and Say Electric/Earth??
Relatively easy to Perma-Dom with a sleep and confuse set, as well as many of the secondary powers being able to take Force Feedback proc if your willing to rely on that.
Elecs Static Field is awesome for solo, makes every encounter trivial, especially with Conductive Aura going, afraid of a group? Static Field, Wander in and lay out your heavy hitters until the group is fully sapped, then bring on the AoE, it may be slower than quick killing, but you can alteratively to having big groups, have smaller higher leveld groups with relative ease.
Statif Field also buffs your team with endurance during protracted fights.
You get 2 Mag 3 holds, so you can really ramp up the mag, and you hit big targets pretty darn hard. /Fire may make teams steamroll against soft targets, but its eually fun to run in as /Earth and layout a nice attack chain thats just held and or knocked down the hard target and done more damage than the scrapper also wailing on him. -
If im reading you right Rajani, than your a little bit wrong.
Most attacks carry 2 markers for defence, 1 is Damage type(s) and 2 is Attack Type,
1) Most attacks in the game carry atleast one Damage type, but many are actually flagged for two, Fire/Smashing or Toxic/Lethal, Energy/Smashing etc etc, you could occasionally get am exotic varierty, but mroe often than not, its Something// Smashing or Lethal.
If we look at shadow Maul, its about 50/50 Negative/Smashing, but even if you had a hyptothetical attack that was 99.9% Toxic (the damage type thats hardest to built defence to) and only 0.01% Smashing, than your smashing defence value would still apply to the power if it is the highest one that applies to the power (this is, at higher defence numbers where I think defence exceeds resistance exponentially)
2) some psionic attacks ignore the Attack Type flagging, and some are counterintuitively marked, should Shadow Maul be melee or AoE? its a melee cone, so it could be both, this can only have one Attack Type, so really, if your close to softcapping all 3, go for it, but its ahrd to tell whats gonna hit you and whats not.
So, ill keep on Shadow Maul here, I don't know if its flagged for AoE or for Melee, but we do know its flagged for Negative and Smashing, so if I had;
10% Negative defence
45% Smashing defence
then it will take the smashing defence value in it's final tohit calculation, if we had 45% both, then it would use either, and if negatiev were higher it would use that.
Thats why, with as someone said apparently over 70% f attacks in this game carying a Smashing/Lethal Tag, the easiest softcap to aim for in MOST given opportunities will be Smashing/Lethal. And to go back to my correction of Rajani, for the case of defence fireball is Fire/Smashing/AoE and will take whichever of those values is highest when calculating defence. -
yeah i knew it would be rubbish in CA, especially since it only affects the enemies, its there simply waiting for my i19 respec and a slot shuffle round and it will emmigrate into health.

Every AT has a secondary that is different from its primary in terms of its use, which, employed correctly imrpoves the viability of the primary.
Scrappers and Stalkers have armour secondaries, which helps them scrap or stalk better, they could run without them, but its foolish.
tankers have melee secondaries which can help generate agro, deal daamge, or do some utlity stuff, again, you could go without it, but it stilly.
Each AT is like that, should we change the name of Dominator to Dominator & Smashy, a controller to "Controller and Buffer" no its silly, and its made apparent thats the case with any interaction with the AT at all.
So should defender be changed to "Defender/Buffer/Healer/Debuffer + damage and interesting utlitity sometimes" probably not, as its a bit silly but it does cover all the bases, which is what you want right?
Trust me when I guess wildly that most people except very new players know that the defender has more up its sleeve than just its primary, that they choose to only utilise that on a build is up to them.
I personally have some very aggressive defenders, and a dual build emp, one where he is "pure emp" which I use(d) soley for doing higher level TFs with friends and SG mates where the loss of damage output wasnt too important, nor was the loss of my utlitiy, vs the benefits of leadership etc etc. and the second build for general teaming, where most things suddenly find they lack the recharge to throw out their attacks, and when they do throw them out, my team is healed or buffed up quite quickly after. -
I was able to get a hold of a Panacea proc which also affects the "target" much like Performance shifter, and thats a heal set, which isnt really suppose to affec tthe enemy one way or another in CA... but anyway.
In CA the Panacea Proc will proc on enemies being affected by CA. but never once proc'd on me while i ran around with it for an hour and a half flying up to top of screen and taking falling damage into mobs i could sap dry and hurt a bit. -
I'm pretty sure that Static Field does have a chance to give you endurance. While I havent done any major testing, my experience to 50 shwoed much better endurance when standing in a static field than not, running the same attack chain.

Quote:i want to say no, because its a toggle and it just affects the numbers based on whos around you. But i havnt tried it.Soooo CA you get +recovery "Per" target. Making ME a target per enemy up to 8 times" Does that mean "Performance Shifter: Chance for +End" can fire "per" target every ten seconds to me? Much like the "Theft of Essance: Change for +End" does in Dark Regeneration???

and its only like a 5% chance too.
I slotted one in conductive aura at level 10, im level 50, and its never saved my life or done anything really really useful. Its basically a waste of a slot in any power (probably in any power in the game) since theres always something you could be doing better.
Mines coming out when I i19 respec into my permadom/softcap build, and I don't think i'll ever look back. -
Not only that, but most veteran players are probably avoiding lower level characters due to pending changes coming, I know I am!

Quote:Thats it for me.I like the designs for the most part, but I'm really not digging the faces. In particular, the mouths.
They're just... no.
"Hey what if we take Optimus and Cliff Jumper and really take away the detail and then give them silly flappy mouths"
"But optimus has a mouth shield, not an actual mouth"
"Michael Bay..."
"Touche"
I dont care if i sound like a whiney retro lover, I just want the classic designs in a new series
Also if you watch the transformation animations they are a bit lacking and atleast in Gen1 and Beast Wars (much as though I disliked it) the animations tended to reflect the toys.
Also Beast Wars poor animation (and hey even Gen 1 to an extent) is simply due to the limitaitons of the technology of the time, especially Beast Wars.
Churning out something that looks like this series, now, with the technology available to animation studios... its upsetting that they don't care enough.
What I really want to see is one of the big japanese companies do a series run and show America how its done. Clamp or Bones would own transformers -
Bad designs, poor quality animation.
Please just give me a decent new transformers series. -
I'm assuming Garent is reconmending it because its single target and faster recharge, so that and your web grenade can stack up pretty quick.
That being said, more slots in your web grenade, and the Patron AoE one I think owuld be fine, and its the approach I will be tkaing with mine. -
hoarfrost.
Hibernating when you need to hibernate usually means your going to be met by a group of un-mezd enemies when you exit it. -
-
It will only have a chance to proc when you summon if the initial summon activates a knockdown chance. So Tornado yes, Phantasm no.
Pets are unaffected by recharge modifiers now, so slotting it in a pet is not a good idea. -
My deepest regret with this game is that I first got an EU account. With the powers of foresight, despite the great teaming experiences I have had, the brilliant union community and those at its core, and the excelent friends I have made, I still wish that I had made an NA account.
Why?
1) latency, as many people have said, the current infrastructure in place for EU players means we get more latency accessing our servers hosted in Germany, than we do accessing any of the NA servers, though i hear the East Coast hosted ones are best.
2) Due to my not so unique working times I get some silly play times, which happen to match up with peak time NA quite alot, while putting me at not so peak EU time.
3) General server population alone its beneficial to be on NA servers
4) I intend to emigrate to Canada at some point in the not so far future, this is the biggest point of contention for me I didnt see myself becoming so hooked on this game that it would become an issue, but if i'm still here in 3 years or so, it will be.
The ideal action, in my opinion, is a Server list Merge, which many people many times over have argued the benefits of, and apart from issues with Global names, the benefits far outweight the negatives, and this is the best course of action. -
WAI.
Mids reports the length of time the pseduopet exists for.
The Sleep it casts in enhanced by your enhancements, its just not reported. Fortunata Hypnosis is definately worth it (except the proc which is useless in it) as its cheap 10% recharge
The sleep itself doesnt have areally long duration, the benefit is that it keeps pulsing. -

It would become more slapstick and comedic than even Indy was, thinking more Brendan Frasier's horrid Mummy movies.
I certainly wouldnt consider it as fair continuity from indy. -
My problem is naming.
A character tends to feel like they fit their costume very well as they grow, to the extend where I very rarely do anything with the extra costume slots as it just looks weird. -
When i finally get around to releveling my Ill/Rad I think i'll be going for Mace Mastery. While I'll always see Local Man as the goto man as far as ill/rad is concerned, I personally think the debuff that comes with the mace attack will increase DPS overall, and be more beneficial to teams.
But I could be wrong, and then i'll respec into an APP -
They do Zombie Man, but I had to self destruct to get out, since the only reason I ended up in there was badging at 20, and the lasers wont kill you from the inside, and the minions struggle.

Now it's probably going to need a few more people testing but...
I was trying to hold onto a Halloween Tip mission even though i've got all the badges etc form it just for the sake of having it, I was able to pick up morality missions no problem and was at 10/10 and 5 stars, so time to get my Alignment Mission.
I spent about and hour and a half smashing grey Con bosses and their minions in PI, as well as ToTing a few doors and smashing whatever appeared.
I've heard people mention before they've had to spend a while getting tip missions, but its never happened to me, its never been ususally longer than 10 mins to pick up my Alignment Mission.
So on the off chance that something was blocking it, I deleted my Halloween Tip contact, and the next minion I hit in the face kindly gave me an Alignment Mission I wanted.
Now that could be one massive coincidence, or it could not be, i'll try and get in a situation to test it again, but that won't be for a few days as iwont be able to tip today. -
The problem is that the remake will suddenly become the staple, and if it doesnt capture the esscence of the original, then the fans of the original can feel as if newer fans to the franchise are being cheated, or missing out.
My own personal examples;
Hitchikers Guide to the galaxy - I was at Uni at the time that came out at the cinema, and the drama society put this on, and I got to play Marvin. After our aftershow party we went to see this at the cinema, and we were all sorely dissapointed.
About a week later at out next auditions we had quite a large number of people turn up with no intent to audition, but to tell us our version of Hitchikers was better at capturing the esscence of it than the movie was, we were much pleased.
Transformers - 1980's Generation 1 including the 86 movie, which I own 1 blueray, 2 DVDs, 2 VHS ,1 UMD and 1 rip on the computer needless to say I love it. And the counterpoint, each new franchise including the new movies.
In both examples I'm less sadened by the fact that I feel a bit cheated that somebody didnt remake the franchise in the way that I would see best, and more saddened by the fact that in 20 years time, some 24 year old bloke will be sat typing about Transformers defining his childhood, and he won't mean the good transformers, he'll mean tthe new stuff... that makes me sad
