  1. Hey Liberty, I want you to tell me a story!

This is a complete forum based event, but if you so desire you can give me a screenshot of the character you wish to tell me about.

    Here are the objectives:

    -Pick a character of yours.
-Write the beginning story of that character.
-USE YOUR IMAGINATION, no real life story of how you created them.
-You may not use any slang or internet lingo; unless you are using it in a conversation.
    -No longer than 1500 words
    -Punctuation and grammar count!
-You may write in any Point of View! (1st, 2nd, or 3rd.)
-Be creative, it can even be in journal entry form to look a bit more realistic!

    Prizes:
1st place gets 100 (now 200!) mil influence
2nd place gets 60 (now 120!) mil influence
3rd place gets 40 (now 80!) mil influence.

    FAQS:
How to send in an entry?

Just post it on here. As well as a screenshot if you desire! Those wishing to submit a private entry may PM it to me.

    How will it be judged?

Each Reader will read and score your entry using a basic story rubric. Then each judge’s total score will be totaled for the final score.

    When they are due?

  2. That's a tidy profit, Hamster. Congrats!

Yes, the Micro's have been consistently expensive.

I put a 55mill bid out for a Micro a while back. At least 3 months ago I think. Hero side. Finally got it in the last week or so (hadn't logged in recently so not sure exactly when).
  3. Happy Birthday, EB! Hope it's a good one.
  4. Thanks everyone! I know I'm a lucky man to get such a great prize
  5. Just a reminder that this event is coming up this weekend. Victory server time is 7:45pm EST on Saturday. Be sure to get some time in this week on your alternate reality look!
  6. Thanks for the well wishes everyone! Reading through the thread has given me lots of smiles. I've had a really good day already and still several more hours to go! MP you are awesome, dare I say, the greatest!?!? I am very lucky to have you in my life.

HP thanks for the song and VexXxa for the image.

And, yes Toril, slots are good. Does that mean when I hit 50 I won't age anymore?

Hamster, FMP is always looking for excuses to go to AC
  7. MedievalPower

    The Tally

    DM/Elec Scrapper 41-50
    Fire/Kin Controller 8-32
    Rad/Rad Corruptor 34-35
    Sonic/DP Defender 1-20
    Rad/Sonic Defender 33-34

The scrapper was a lot of fun to play. I'm a little sad that he's 50 now because I know I won't play him as much.
  8. I'm up for the next run! I don't yet have a 50 dominator or widow, so will be playing one of those... And probably wishing the whole time I was playing a brute or corruptor.
  9. Thanks, Viv. To clarify my question, what's in the "Complete Collection Item Pack"? I'm wondering if it's worth purchasing separately if I already have all the expansion packs I want, or if there's going to be some new stuff in it that's not currently available.

If there's nothing I want in it, then I'm just paying $5 more net to get the pre-order of GR to get early play time on dual pistols and demon summoning.
  10. What's in the Complete Collection?
  11. I got the replacement GTS 250 from EVGA and put it in a few days ago. I cleaned up the ATI drivers using Driver Sweeper and installed NVIDIA 196.21. The new card has been running great! No crashes whatsoever
  12. *steps up to the edge of DC's lawn* Happy Birthday, DC!

That is true. I am hoping the 650 Watt power supply I have in it now will be sufficient. I will find out when I get the replacement GTS 250

    Thanks.
  14. Looks like it's video card related. I bought a Radeon 4350 last night. Swapped out the GTS 250 and... the game ran fine for 12 hours! So, either it's the NVIDIA drivers I'm using or it's the card. I'm currently in the RMA process.

I'll update the thread once I get the replacement GTS 250 back in the machine.
  15. Well, looks like it's not the memory - unless both are bad. I pulled out one of the memory modules and ran with just one - crash. Swapped that with the other one - crash.

If I have some free time tonight, I'll try going through some older nvidia drivers. Tomorrow I'll try swapping out the video card - depending on Best Buy's video card return policy.
  16. Thanks PerfectStorm and Twilight_Snow. The Nvidia tool also monitors the CPU temperatures - they are usually in the mid-50's while the game is running with occasional spikes to 60-62. I'm using the stock fan for the i7 processor. I'm not sure if that is a dangerous temperature or not.

Last night I noticed that there is a spike in disk activity right after the system freeze happens. I was hoping it was logging a system error or something, but I can't find anything in the Windows event viewer.

I do have 2x2GB memory in the system. I am thinking about pulling one out, seeing if that helps, if not swapping to the other one and trying the same - to see if it's due to one of the sticks.

I have been thinking of swapping out the video card, but my old system has an (8x) AGP card in it. I don't think it will work in this system, will it? I could possibly pick one up from Best Buy perhaps and return it once the testing is completed.

I also filed a ticket with NCSoft. They suggested running in safe mode. I tried that last night. Got a crash/lockup after about an hour.

Thanks, Ironblade. What's considered too hot for a video card? Using the Nvidia monitor tool (don't remember the name offhand) when CoH is running I see the GPU temperature hover around 60-63 centigrade. The fan starts up automatically in the 50's I think and is running at around 24% speed when the GPU temp is in that range.
  18. Hi,

I built a new PC a few weeks ago (the 3rd one I've put together). The machine is running great for everything except CoH. When CoH is running the system freezes after a while. Not just the game, but the whole machine locks up. Sometimes it will be good for an hour, sometimes it will lock up after just 2 minutes in the game. Usually it locks up within 15 minutes. When it locks up, the screen freezes with whatever was currently being displayed on it, with some corruption in the image. I have to power cycle the machine to get it back up.

I'm looking for some ideas on how to proceed to figure out the cause of the problem. So far I have:

    * tried two different power supplies
    * tried the latest production and the latest beta nvidia video drivers
    * run memtest86+
    * run windows 7 memory diagnostics tool

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
