    Super...team...

Even if you give up on your duo, don't give up on joining the global channels that Flux mentioned. There's a ton of team organizing and general game related chatter going on on those channels. At a minimum it's a great way to meet other Victory players and who knows, maybe you'll find someone who'd like to do that duo with you

Check out the "Welcome to Victory and How to Find Teams" thread for more details.

  2. I like the faster raids (don't really care about getting the chance for a shard drop from the Mitos anymore), but, at least for this last run, several of us went out and got nukes and shivans. If you add that time to the raid time, then it's a much longer raid than the traditional one - for those that put in the extra preparation time.

However, I am wondering how necessary the nukes and shivans are. At least with shivans you get 5 at a time so they can span multiple raids, but I don't know if I want to spend 20-35 minutes in Warburg every week getting nukes.
  3. I'm in! @Medieval Power. I'll be bringing my Rad/Sonic def. I picked up a T4 Diamagnetic and T4 Longbow Core today for some AV regen wrecking! Ultimates and super reds are easy enough to get (just 2 Astrals for the Ultimates and 1 Astral for the super reds), but sadly I think I used up all my team inspirations on previous attempts

I have both T4 Ageless and Barrier so can switch to either depending on what others bring.

Edit: Oh, and Support Radial Embodiment

An Ultimate inspiration would probably be useful for the spike at the end. Just one should be plenty as they last for 3 minutes and if our spike takes longer than that, then we're screwed. You can pick one up in Ouroboros for only 2 Astrals.

    EA Slotting

Are you talking about what IO sets to use for the most effective set bonuses? With set bonuses your major goal should be to get at least 45% defense to smash/lethal and energy. And with the incarnate content in mind, you'll want to get even higher than that.

I recently leveled up a Staff/EA brute and he has been great overall on incarnate trials and did pretty well on the way up to 50 as well.

The Brute ATO set is your friend. 3 pieces gets you a smash/lethal defense bonus, so it's best to split the set into two powers (3 and 3) so you get double that set bonus. And you can slot them at level 10!

Also, adding Combat Jumping, Maneuvers and Weave help greatly on EA (get all 3 if you can) because their +def to all stacks with your defense shields. The same goes for the Steadfast +def unique (and the Gladiator's Armor +def, but it is pricey). Put the unique(s) in one of your resistance auto powers, or in tough if you have it.

With those defense powers plus the steadfast and gladiator's armor my Staff/EA is running in the 50's for smash/lethal/energy. I don't have the build that my better half put together in front of me, but I believe he's also in the 40's for fire/cold/neg energy defense, and has a minimum of around 22% defense to everything including Psi and the positions.

Note that given all the toggles you're going to have - especially if you pick up Maneuvers and Weave, you're going to want an Alpha that gives you some endurance or recovery bonus. I'm pretty sure I went with Agility (Core Paragon) which gives you +defense and +recovery.
  6. Happy (belated) birthday!

The rush to the reward table seems pointless as the last 30 or so Lams/BAFs I've done have been common/uncommon, so little point. I need to do higher trials if I want a decent reward.
To each their own. You're certainly not alone in that sentiment. I'm just not the type that likes to clear extra mobs just for the sake of clearing and hoping to get a purple or catalyst or whatever.

And this is why I don't usually do Lambda's anymore. All the other trials are relatively straightforward in what you need to fight and people don't tend to go clear unnecessary mobs. When I do join a Lambda that's not being run by Madame Pistacio I know full well that there's a strong chance the outside and/or turrets will be cleared and I make sure that is something I won't mind doing at the time.
  8. Yeah, I prefer 2.5. The turrets are time consuming for little reward. And why street sweep the outside unless you really want iXP? And even then you're better off just doing another trial because the astrals, salvage, and empyreans are really where it's at for rewards, so the quicker you can get them the better (which is why TPN is so awesome).

So, skip the outside and turrets, clear the courtyard, then head inside. Split up and get all acids and grenades. After Babs spawns, wait 30 seconds or so to let the mobs accumulate so you get your astral for killing 30 of them, then take them out and Babs. Use acids as needed depending on the strength of the league.
  9. I know i23 isn't about the 1-20 Praetoria, but I really like the (1-20) Praetorian content from a story perspective. I like that you can make choices. I like that you can get little side missions when you're playing the opposite side of what you started as. I like that there's lots of cutscenes.

However, it's very difficult to team there in any meaningful way when every 5th mission or so in every story arc is a single player only mission. And there are no task forces or trials. You can't even access the new low level trials from there.

I've run a few characters through Praetoria. And have two left - one that started Loyalist and one Resistance, going through all the arcs. After that I'm probably done for good with starting in Praetoria.

As for First Ward, I ran through it with Isolators and would like to try the arcs out solo, but haven't gotten around to that yet. Will probably end up in the same situation with Night Ward.

My play time is mostly "iTrial, iTrial, iTrial, task force, iTrial, iTrial, etc.." with a smattering of "regular" teaming through Isolators and a static villains team I'm in. I do get to try new powersets but I don't get much time for new low/mid level content.

I will buy all the pets!
That Panther Stealth power sounds interesting, however...

  13. I fully expect to see Mental's new liger following him around in the Isolators base tomorrow.
  14. Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! Sweetheart, I am reminded every day of how lucky I am to have you

The candles, cries of doom, and gifts of dead birds are much appreciated. I'll put the bird next to the dead frogs that my dogs have a habit of leaving by the front door to our house.

Now, to figure out what to do with these extra slots... MP, I need a Mids build!

    Morning Victory!

Yes, what Callie said. Most of the player population is either on lowbies or on their 50's. It's been that way for a long time. And this is not unique to Victory. I'd suggest joining all three channels (Victory Forum, Victory Badges, and Victory Limitless), if you have the room, to increase the odds of getting in on a mid-level team if one is announced.

Or you can form your own, as you've said you've already tried. Don't set your expectations on team size too high. Announce that you're running the team in the channels and in broadcast in the zone you're in, and in the Help channel if you wish for those that are not VIP, pick up what you can - you might end up with just one or two to start - then run a mission. After that mission's done, go ahead and announce in the channels again what you're doing. You might pick up one or two more. Eventually you'll get a decent sized team going but it may take some time.

    Morning Victory!

Welcome to VIP status and to Victory! There's a lot of team forming on Victory that happens via global channels. Check out Grey Pilgrim's Welcome to Victory and How to Find Teams thread for more details.
  17. Had similar behavior with my Demon pets and the Nemesis mole machines. From a distance they just stood around even when ordered to attack. Once I put them in melee range they would attack.

I've definitely seen this before (although I don't remember when). I think this has been a long standing issue with multiple MM pet types - as others are saying.
  18. Finished off some going rogue era characters:

    Sonic/DP - 37 to 50
    Demon/Pain - 44 to 50
    Spines/Dark scrapper - 46-50(+1)

Also got my FF defender a couple levels off two ship raids. 44-46 I think.

I re-rolled my titan weapons/fire brute as a tank and got him to 13ish off a couple of DFB runs.

My only regret is that my baby Dark/Cold controller didn't get any attention.

Got one (Gravitational Anchor) purple drop. Looking forward to some iTrials this week!
  19. I have a few characters (demon/pain MM, MA/Regen scrapper, Plant/Thorn dom) that have been languishing in the 40's. I'm hoping to get at least one of them to 50.

Other than that, I want to see how far I can get with my new lowbie villain Dark/Cold controller.
  20. Making more inf is good, of course. And unkillable keeps it from being a total waste of time. Still, how much of your wealth is based on inf obtained from defeats? You can probably make more vendoring your common IO recipes or listing them in the AH. And, get one decent purple or rare drop and it blows away any inf you've earned from defeats.

Let's say on your journey from 1-50 you make 50mil inf enemy defeats. Making 55 instead? Meh. Increase my chance of drops - now that would make it interesting.
  21. I have a tendency to buy the stuff that's only available for a fixed period of time. But 800pts? /e boggle. For 10% more inf? Does it increase other drop rates too? Is it unkillable or is it like the vet reward pets that buff you but die instantly when you're in combat?
  22. I thought Bob's your uncle?

    And congrats!
  23. I like to try and get to a tier 4 alpha and destiny. Those two in my mind have the biggest return on tier 4 versus tier 3. For the alpha, the bonuses are higher and less impacted by ED, and for the destiny you go from a 30' to a 60' radius buff and the buff is perma, albeit weaker at the tail end of the 2 minute interval.

Of course I go for tier 3 Lore for the level shift, but after that everything else is just gravy and based on how much I enjoy playing the character - my Elec tank for example has a tier 4 of all the incarnate powers and has a tier 4 of every flavor of Destiny because he's my favorite character at the moment.

    GM Math

Unfortunately I don't think there's any way to get the Valkyrie outside of the Paragon Market now because, as Philly pointed out, it was bundled with the Mac edition which was only released digitally and only available directly from NCSoft to the best of my knowledge.

There are a lot of other editions available from a previously named online store though that cost less than the price of a month, and include a free month, so it is a good thing to look out for if you haven't bought all the editions yet. For example, I got the CoV collector's edition for $6 (still available for the same price now) a few months ago. There's also Going Rogue for $6. Architect edition for $12, etc..
