Quote:And you would be completely WRONG. LOL. They do whats easiest. Period. If you have 8 lvl 50 toons sk'ed up or full lvl moving group to group dropping all thier AoE attacks it simply melts and destroys in seconds any susceptible mob group in this game (aside from lvl 54 boss farms). They dont want to spend the Inf they could be selling tricking out thier toons when they can get the same effect or FASTER, by just bot spamming mass AoE death, with a touch of buffing for survival. Besides u need 6-8 toons just to max out mob sizes as the game stands now. Also investing too much in accounts that will get banned at some point wouldnt be terribly productive. I based all this on the fact that:I stand by my assertion. Money = IO access, and IO access = far greater base recharge, recovery and survivability. That means you need less characters to achieve the same thing. Less characters means less juggling, less account management, etc. Time is money to these folks. An initial investment in IOs pays off in the long run.
You might see ones doing it without them, but that doesn't mean they're doing it was well as they could otherwise.
As the OP pointed out its not that hard to pick out the RMT farming toons. I see them quite often in my travels around Paragon. You used to see em crammed around portals in PI, around the "boats" in grandville, at the portal in oro, and in AE. They are predictable, they are easily noticeable. Just stop and check thier "info". No set bonuses - nada. In all reality they probably arent even slotted with SO's for most of their powers EXCEPT the AoE attacks the "bots" have on auto fire.
My advice - hit them with "ignore_spammer", as they are probably spamming like madmen on other accounts from that IP. At least cue the devs into them so they have more opportunities catch them in the act. -
Quote:Has there been other talk about this as a potential reason ? I have 2 different chars I tend to grind with about evenly. The one definately gets WAY more recipe drops than the other one.
Wouldn't it be a kick in the head if character names actually contributed part of the seed value for the RNG, and all those people who claim that they never get drops on their mains don't get them because of how they named their characters?
Ive observed this weird little behavior for a long time, but just chalked it up to oddball luck on the rolls.
Any other chatter around these lines in general ? -
No longer needed - I got a drop of one while fighting in sirens. Disregard this request - thanks.

Basically I'd like to know if anyone knows what % our mezz powers degrade against higher level enemies and thier tiers (minions, lt's, bosses). I see a lot of missions with 54 villains in them and its very significant the loss of mezz power against them, especially the 54 bosses.
Im assuming there is a formula of some sort that sayings against a lvl 54 boss you hold only has "x"% as long as normal or only have "x"% mag than normal or what not.
Any help is appreciated -
I would like to get a Gladiators Armor Proc blue side.

Another questions - will the links for the old forums ever work again / be redirected ? Or are they officially dead as it stands ? Should I bother hanging on to them or just relink everything, and lose links to all my favorite information threads ?
-
Has anyone located where the dev and community digests are ? If they still exist ? I've been digging around to no avail so far.
This new forum feels so rough to me.
Thanks. -

Was there an undocumented change PVP IO drop rates, or the whole drop system for them entirely changed ?
[/ QUOTE ]
So are they dropping more or less now ? -

when you achieve 5 lines of purps on 12 toons.
That is where i am now.

Very unimpressive imo. Luckily your goals are low and easily achieved...
Unless you were trying to impress us, then well...
Try harder.

To re-ask what was in a few posts above :
I primarily play empathy elec. When I join a team for PvP and we are duking it out - I generally deal little to no damage as I concentrate on buffing.
So when "we" defeat someone do I still get a chance at a PvP IO drop, if I didnt deal any damage to the defeated enemy ? Or is it a random check for everyone on team to see if i get something ?
- Do I have to deal a minimum level of damage to earn a chance ?
- Do I have to be the one to cause the actual defeat to get a chance ? -
Heres a question :

Thanks for the analysis Luminara.
Im considering this with Hot Feet on a dom. The base damage is 10, but it is a toggle that will tick every few seconds.
I can fit in 4 damage boosting procs.
But I will be under domination most of the time so there is a damage booster. Then there is no -resist.
So it sounds like I "might" see a damage boost based on what you noted above. So no significant benefit.
Or if Ive interpreted it wrong let me know.
Thanks again. -
Okay got the gist of this discussion. But still somewhat unclear as to whether slotting a bunch of procs in a low damage power results in higher damage than just slotting for damage.
Example :
Will slotting 4 damage boosting proces in a power like Hot Feet generate more damage over time than just slotting 3 damage SO's ? If so is it a lot more damage or just marginal ?
Thanks. -
Hi -
I saw a stray post here a while back that listed the PvP IO's components and set bonuses. However I cant seem to find really any stat info regarding the PvP IO's atm.
Does anyone have a link to detailed information for them ?
Thanks. -
Slightly off topic - Ive gotten the basic info on the PvP IO's. Would you folks conisder these good for pvp builds ? A couple sets look good, but a few look somewhat blah. But I am quite out of practice.
-
Thanks for the replies
Bummer on the Widow being weak.
Primarily I'd like to zone PvP. In the past I like having toons with mez protection as they tended to be the most consistent for me. However it seems likes blasters and corruptors are strong pvp'ers atm. Though it sounds like stalkers are really strong atm as well.
I can pick a new AT and set and work on it I dont mind that. -
Hiyas -
Im considering dusting off my widow and prepping it for PvP. Is it worth the effort ? Ive havent pvp'ed in a couple issues now so no idea the state of the game there.
If not - any advice on what to go for ? I do have a ss fire brute I can focus on as well.
Thanks. -

There isn't a need to avoid AE altogether.
True.
Just stick to Dev's Choice missions an you won't risk running into any invisible electric fences.

Which means it's important to /petition each one of those you get, assuming the name is still there.

Agreed. Not only that but do it IMMEDIATELY as soon as you get a spam of any kind. Since they have to pay to do it, make sure you knock out that account right away. Don't let them spend any time spamming away for a day or two.
And that has me hoping they immediately investigate the reports and drop kick em fast.
Ive noticed a couple times when i report all those cruddy spam emails i get that it seems they get to sit around spamming emails for quite some time on a couple of those accounts.
Report fast ! And please NC stay on top of it -
So theres no way to figure out this confusion then
Doh ! Why put stats on at all then.
-
Basically I see a set of stats such as :
Mission Map Details
33 allowed ambush, boss, patrol or destroy object details. (33 Front, 33 Back)
20 allowed rescue, escort. ally, or defend object details.
(20 Front, 20 Back) - 65 allowed floor collection items. (65 Front, 65 Back)
Now when I try to add certain items I roll right over the top of "allowable" very often.
Essentially Im confused by the above designations. Can anyone explain just how much stuff I can put on to a certain map, and what counts against what ? I keep running into limits that I just cant figure out what im conflicting with.
I appreciate any help - thanks !
