The bug that allowed it to happen was from about 4-5 years ago 'ish. The lvl 53's made an appearance for a very short time before the bug was fixed. So really theres probably only a 100'ish (maybe 200) scattered around all the servers. So just hoping some of these might still exist on active characters who might be willing to sell a couple for mad profitz. I can do without them but I really want some as part of my perfectionist mentality.
Factor in the likelihood of getting the ones I actually want, and yes I'll take all the luck I can get in this endeavor, lol. -
So with all the respecs flying has anyone unearthed any of these lvl 53 variants of HO's ? It's a long shot but still looking
Willing to pay a full 2 Billion for some of the ones I really want. I do want the lvl 53 versions for versatility. I have some 50's now that I can + up but first choice is 53's if possible. Drop me a PM and we'll make arrangements.
TY -
Okay my main and my alt have just tonight hit the magical 35 alignment merits. I'll cash these in for the big name glad armor or shield wall procs that are so hot right now. 3 Billion.
Send me a PM and we'll make arrangements.
Thanks. -
Sorry edit to first post - I meant to say relatively "thin".
But I will peek at those desks quick again - as I remember they were fairly thick. -
What are some suggestions for a flooring material. It will be a stack situation where I'm putting in a 2nd floor / balcony area. I want something that is relatively thin but not see through. So it will actually look like a ceiling or floor from the bottom level.

Oh a final thought ...
Im outPeace. Debate, counter, fictionalize, and rationalize all you want.
But at least take note of basic statements I made. Understand what was said.
If its one lesson I've learned from the forums, theres too many players who will beat load of BS to death. Even when they know they are wrong. They'll debate for hours, days, weeks. Even when they know they are wrong.
I quite simply dont have that kind of time. The input is there, enjoy itOr hate it. But I leave it up to you

ROFL
Actually the folks who deny that:
- Flippers do artificially increase prices - often by incredible amounts.
- When flippers leave a niche - prices always drop down. The amount of drop and how long it takes to drop depends significantly on what tactics the flippers used. Anytime a player deletes items to lower overall supply that complicates things.
- Other fairly obvious or general facts.
Those folks remind me of a friend who I used to play games with regularly. Long story short as a game progressed and he found himself in disadvantageous situations or sought an advantage over others - he would take a rule and start debating its "true" meaning. He would use things like proper use of the english language, what he saw as "potential inferred meanings", and any rule that did not specifically rule out what he was attempting in detailed print - and twist the meaning of what was CLEARLY PRINTED in the manual / rules in order to try and make it applicable to the situations he needed to occur.
Often he would try so hard to get his way and make you think his way was actually right he would spend an hour or more holding up the game to try and debate his way to success. Even in light of 4 other guys looking at the same rule and all agreeing it meant one thing (usually just what it said it did), he would carry on trying to twist the meaning to his advantage. Sometimes it would go on so long that we'd have to hold a vote and the majority of the players would say - "okay F it, let him do what he wants, so we can at least play the game".
It was extremely sad. It got very old. And you know what ? That guy was wrong 99% of the time. We would often write a letter, send an email, or read a FAQ from the game manufacturer to get the final correct word. But still he just wanted to create situations to help himself, that just didnt exist, or were clearly just WRONG. And sadder yet ? I believe he knew he was wrong - but persisted in that kind of behavior for his own benefit at the expense of everyone else he played with. Sometimes he would admit it later on in time.
When someone rails against common sense, logic, OBVIOUS FACTS EXAMPLES AND OBSERVATIONS, and berates and belittles others - all in order to get their way, to change a truth into a falsehood but still try to make it sound like the truth - all for their benefit ... I think that says it all.
I read that kind of pathetic rhetoric all too often here.
For those who care: We used to play various boardgames, a bunch of strategy, and quite a few others. Eventually the group just broke up because we could no longer even get past the first few turns, much less finish a game. Ah memories, lol.
Some other thoughts:
Quote:An excuse. Predictable. Data = None.I've posted many threads on the old forums which went to meet the forum monster. Having done the work, I'm not inspired to repeat myself when the results are easy enough for anyone to observe by investing a little time and a little inf in flipping salvage for themselves.
Quote:Not understanding how things work isn't anything to brag about.
However I will say that statement reflects your current understanding of actual market realities vs. your fiction of it. Ignoring fundamental realities of what happens with flipping makes it a statement of yourself than of anyone else.
If you take a pile of dung, put a dress on it, a little makeup, some perfume, and prop it up with a stick - that doesnt change that its still a pile of dung. -
Quote:And you provided exactly zip for supporting data as well in your response. Twas my point.
Your observations and experiences are curiously vague and unspecific.
Quote:Every time someone does this with a specific, measured, test, we get the opposite results of the ones you claim.
Quote:Essentially, to all of the people who say that the flippers are marketeers are ruining the economy and driving up prices through our methods, please explain to me how I can do the exact opposite of what you are saying we do, and still make inf on the deal? Explain to me why I was getting more than 2x what I was buying for, across 3k transactions.
I pointed out doing this with a more controllable niche, working in higher price items, and with the goal of flipping for profit - he would see VERY different results.
Quote:It wasn't hard for me. Many months ago I cornered the market in Human Blood Samples and Brass. I bought and deleted all of the cheap outstanding stock, and left enough outstanding bids up each day at 1001 to to keep the cheap stuff off the market. Other people started buying the more expensive stuff, so it mostly drained out of the Market. Then I started listing mine for just under a million. I made a half billion over a few weeks. But I stopped because it felt dirty.
There are far far more of these types of stories here on the market than any stories of how flipping does not drive up prices.
In fact isnt part of the bravado and swagger of this forum based on how players enter the market, flip, control supply, and profit most grandly by it all in the end ? The very existence the HUGE number of claims of market control for profit all support this concept.
Quote:Am I reading a lot of this right and people are actually saying that does not happen ??? Who do you really think you are fooling ?

Quote:One thing I note in all these discussion is this - the "flippers and supporters" group almost never actually answer the questions with direct facts. Here is a quite simple and revealing question posed by Alkirin. Nethergoats reply is what always occurs to such a question.the absence of flippers increases volatility in several ways, all of which I've explained in many previous threads over the years.
I'd suggest flipping something for a while.
it's cheap, easy and provides a helpful primer on market forces, plus its way more entertaining than a lecture from me.
=P
I'll say that I've flipped a LOT myself. Became ridiculously rich doing it.
Based on all my observations and experiences:
- Flippers do artificially increase prices - often by incredible amounts.
- When flippers leave a niche - prices always drop down. The amount of drop and how long it takes to drop depends significantly on what tactics the flippers used. Anytime a player deletes items to lower overall supply that complicates things.
The recent example everyone quotes is the common salvage jobs. Does anyone even remotely believe that CAP's are going to stay at the 1 Million'ish level, unless a flipper is there to influence it ? I think whats happened speaks for itself.
The difference between myself I guess and a lot of "marketeers" is that I dont pretend flipping is "beneficial", "has no effect", "does not impact the casual player", etc etc.
In reality it does the main thing everybody hates it for. Artificially, and often dramatically, inflates prices on the items "being worked". And when flipping is removed, yes, prices drop.
Am I reading a lot of this right and people are actually saying that does not happen ??? Who do you really think you are fooling ?

I have this same issue atm. Unfortunately they havent been able to fix it in 4-5 months now. So I have 1 slot locked up with a sale over 2 bill.
It occurred because of the bug where sometimes you list an item but it would randomly shift to another stack of items in your list and post those instead. So I sold a larget stack of fairly valuable items that went over 2 bill ... by accident.
Now they were supposed to have a new type of command for GM's to be able to delete those market slots. Came with GR, but apparently what they made is broken too, and if they delete some of those locked up slots, they just come back on thier own, rofl.
So one less slot and 2 bill and change in limbo. They claim a proper fix will be coming i19.
*crosses fingers* -
If any of them are lvl 53's let me know
I'm drooling to get my hands on a few of those. If you have or know anyone who has them - send me a PM and we can work out prices or trades.
TY -
I remember back in the day these used to be around. I havent seen any in forever. Anyone have some they'd be willing to sell off ? Ideally I want a couple Ribo's and Micro's. Then some Enzyme and Cyto. Few Nucleolus. Then I could slip in a few of the other kinds but they arent as critical.
Send me a PM - let me know what you have and what you'd want for them.
TY -
Im still looking for that lvl 10 Shield Wall proc if anyone can make one for me. Let me know what you'd want for it.
TY -
Correct - I'm dismantling a retiring PvP toon. What I'd like to do is setup a lowbie with some of the major procs and then run it as my new main for the next couple months (lvl 9 now). Excited to see how it feels with some nice early power ups.
-
Turned in my A merits on a Glad Armor Lvl 10 Proc. Turns out I actually needed the Shield Wall Proc instead (lvl 10 preferred). If anyone has the merits to turn in on a Lvl 10 Shield Wall Proc, I'll gladly trade you my lvl 10 Glad Armor Proc, and say 200 million inf for the effort. Plus you do end up with the higher value proc and that extra 200 mill
Send me a PM if you'd be willing.
TY
Also I'll have a level 50 Glad Armor proc and a level 50 Shield Wall proc which will be available after the respec. I will just toss them on the market - but if anyone wants to make me an offer for them - feel free. -
he he we're all turning in our merits - ill sell one too, heck make me an offer and ill turn them in for a level 10 version
-
I've just started PvP'ing and its pretty fast and chaotic, lol. Is it possible to do a macro that targets the closest enemy to you and fires off an attack. So a 1 click target / attack. I find that the time it takes me to hit tab then fire off a power they always zip by me out of range and I lose them. TY.
-
Common salvage really doesnt show real signfiicance for the type of experiment you were trying to do. You need to get into a more sought after and higher priced item (IO's escpecially) to really see what you originally expected.
Set up something with a much more significantly priced item and see what happens. I bet the results are radically different. -
Still got a few of these for sale if any are interested. Thanks.
-
I stripped down my old PvP'er.
I figured I'll just put most of it on the market, but the big tickets that someone might want off market are:
Glad Armor Proc 3 Billion
Shield Wall Proc send offer
Panacea Proc send offer
Drop me a PM if anything interests you. I had a few other sets on him as well. If theres something you want / cant find ask me and if I still have it its your - just make an offer. I'll dump the rest on the market in a day or two.
Thanky. -
Quote:Talk is cheap. Drive it up and keep it there for a month...then come talk about it. Otherwise...all talk.
If you like I'd be happy to drive the price for 2 pieces of this set back up to 20 million. I can always use the extra inf. -
Players who refuse to use almost all of their effective powers when on a team in the name of "RP'ing".
The latest jag-offs in this trend are the "whip only" masterminds. Even when on large teams where their pets would be a huge contribution...they run around with one weak **** whip power and pretend like they're helping. This one wank last night wouldnt even use his frickin secondary powers either...SERIOUSLY get a clue.
Ive seen this sad situation 5 times now since GR hit. When its hurting the team its BS.
A secondary pet peeve would be a team leader who enables that kind of behavior. On a team last night upon questioning such an offender, the offender says "F off". I even asked nicely. Next mission the team is progressing VERY slowly and getting beat down on a number of encounters so I say to the MM that he should use his pets at least when teaming and the team is faltering. Leader gets all pissy and supports the purposely gimping MM.
If you're the leader and your team is sucking ****, taking a beat down on the encounters, and theres a guy running around using essentially brawl only - when he could fire up some nicely powered pets to help out - I suggest you dump the sad little gimper / leech and get someone on the team who can actually contribute.
'Nuff said. -
Nice. Is the basic idea to just confuse the AV's to wipe each other out ? Is there a posted strategy for this somewhere. Sounds like something I'd love to give a try at.
-
I still have one. Any who emailed him about the proc and still want one give me a PM and we'll trade. TY.

Long story short I want to make an ultimate player buffing toon. Gonna run in a tandem with a friend of mine and want to be able to buff him into a juggernaught of pain to our enemies.
What would you recommend ?
One of my old favorites has always been empathy because of fort and adr boost. However is there a better setup nowadays ?
