You know what else is Ill-conceived? The font choice for the topics on the forums. I read this a 3-conceived first, which didn't make much sense.

Mine is an FF/Energy and she's pretty good. I'll admit that Energy is a bit redundant, though, with FF's built in knockback powers. Personally, if I had to do it all over again, I'd roll an FF/Ice for the Holds and pretty much similar single target damage with better AoE.
Also in that build, you're getting Maneuvers FAR too late, and you're just using it as a set mule. On most other builds, this is okay, but for a forcefielder, you want Maneuvers as soon as you've got the End to run it, not later than 30 at least, and you want to slot it for Defense. Why do that? Because it''s the difference between letting 10% of enemy attacks through and 5%. Maneuvers doubles the power of your defense buffs. It's unique to FF Defenders to do that, but a well built pre-alpha FF Defender should at minimum be able to hit 44% defense buff on an ally. That's the small bubbles, Dispersion Bubble and Maneuvers, all slotted equivalent to 3 level 30-35 Defense Buff IOs. -

Recoome is perfect as a pro-wrestler. It's awesome how those ridiculous stances the Ginyus do are all perfectly justified in the abridged series. They're showboating for the TV viewers. Of course they are.

I didn't have that much available double XP time, so I set a modest goal: My level 46 Scrapper had to hit 50 by local midnight tonight. Which is 20 minutes ago.
Result? After two Mothership raids, and one of the most fun ITF's I've run with a nearly all-melee team, she hit 50 in the last mission. Romulus is exceptionally good XP on double XP weekend. 215k per kill.
Then I took a fresh off the portal from Praetoria Controller and got her to 21 during a Rikti Invasion. Not much, but it's a nice bonus. -
Wait, if we're going to the actual Well of the Furies, shouldn't this give Incarnate rewards this year? I'd kind of be disappointed if this isn't worth a shard, at least.

So that's Cry for Justice? Wow, it's like they took all the boring parts and drew them while the parts that'd normally be in a superhero comic happened off-panel.
Also, I must not have watched AT4W enough... why was Pyramid Head in a Pokéball?
Now there's a question you don't get ask very often...
JUSTICE! -
What a delightfully stupid concept. It just might work, or in any case be an entertaining movie.

Quote:So it's basically the laser equivalent of putting a can of beer in a paint shaker, then opening it?I love FETs, they are small, compared to chemical pumped lasers and the method behind inducing the laser effect is downright funny.
Basically when you shake (the "official" term is wiggle) electrons hard enough, they will emit photons. Change the frequency you shake them, they produce light at difference frequencies (from infrared through X-rays). True, you need a linear accelerator to first get the electrons up to near light speed first and at reasonable density but that's relatively easy to do.
Neat! -
Hold on a second...
Does that mean what I think it does? I don't see an only affecting self tag on it wither. If so, very nice. This one must have a severe recharge to allow for 15 seconds of invincibility after reviving. -
Eh, Palpatine at least had something to brag about. He conquered an entire galaxy in a lifetime. Evil or not... that is impressive. Most impressive.
His fault was much simpler: Lack of interpersonal pattern recognition. To turn Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader, he exploited Anakin's fear of losing his family. As evil mastermind plans go, this is a pretty good one. It worked, too. However, if this is the plan you're going with, you probably should not have Vader in the same room as you torture his son to death with magical lightning. Especially if the kid was to cry out to his father for help. Vader might not take that very well. Turns out, he didn't.
In retrospect, the bottomless pits in the throne room probably should have been covered, but I guess it's one of the places you can save credits when building a moon-sized battle station. -
Just when I thought thunderstorms couldn't become more awesome, we find out that they're spewing anti-matter. Nice.

Quote:I was one of those that whined a bit about the ebil market that was completely opaque to me. I had no idea what to do with it, or how people could afford to pay that much. (I assumed they were farming some exploit, I suppose). Then I read the guide to make Inf, saw that my Scrapper had built up a lot more Merits than I thought, and figured why not give it a shot now that I had a possible seed? There may have been some personal facepalming involved when I found out how easy it was.Ya know...every time I try to help someone out with the market, either in my SG or in broadcast or occassionally just in tells, I invariably get the response "If everybody marketeered, then you wouldnt be able to make any influence." or "Youre just saying that as a way to make even more influence" Its nice (as always) to see someone take the advice presented and make use of it.
Congrats....the first billion is the hardest.

I was a bit apprehensive asking about it here, though. The Market Forum is a dark, twisted place of ebil, brimstone, and flames fuelled by the glorious pit of burning money. At least that's how I thought. Turns out, I got solid advice that actually worked. I figured I should pop back in and say thanks. -
And no, I'm not sarcastic, I really mean thank you.
A while ago I made a thread about what to do with a pile of Merits. I got a lot of nice feedback and started reading some of the marketeering guides, and long story short: It finally clicked. Got half a billion on one character to see if I could. Wasn't too hard, really. Still have that, actually. Anyway, I19 hit and I started playing my old FF Defender again. She was running SOs, and it was tme to upgrade. I then had a weird idea: Could I IO her out, yet make a profit off doing so?
Short answer: Yes.
It took pretty much all of December and some criminally low bids, but I got my Defender (almost) fully decked out in sets, with a 200 million profit. No purples, and a few generics here and there, but Rose is pretty awesome now. Got one outstanding bid on an HO still to go.
How do you do this? Well... you need to understand flipping and crafting, and think a little out of the box. I need two times 5 Miracle for Aid Other and Self. That's still expensive on a limited budget, but... if I bought FIVE sets, I could craft and sell three and get the two of mine virtually for free. So I did. And I did that for a lot of the set IOs I bought. Because if I really wanted it, but was patient enough to craft it myself, someone else might also want it, but be less patient. This worked out far better than it should, really.
So before sets, it was 70-ish million and all SOs. After sets it's 320 million and pretty much all the set IOs I could want. Had I just been in it for the Inf, I'd likely be a billionaire in the game now.
So once more: Thanks Marketeers! You helped me out and got Rose some IOs I frankly had written off as "not for me" in advance.
Now I could probably start aiming for the cap, just to post a monocle and top hat picture. -
I've been following this on the news, and it's awe inspiring. Terrible, but awe inspiring.
I hope the people affected by it make it through okay. Stay safe down there. And good luck to you Super, I hope you won't need the luck, but in case you do: Good luck. -
What, seriously? You sure he didn't just quit? No fun in being the Grim Reaper if people just keep reviving. Maybe he just hung up the old robe and scythe.

Right click on the game, select "Don't keep this game updated" or similar. Alternatively "Delete all local content", which wipes the Steam version of the game and tells Steam to keep it uninstalled until you tell it not to.

So the Human Torch will die to make room for H.E.R.B.I.E.? So kids won't light themselves on fire trying to copy him.

Quote:I suppose seeing those puny humans take out Devastator convinced him that it might be prudent to stand out a little less. That or he started listening to Starscream, which in general is a bad idea when you're Megatron.Think that's supposed to be a tarp of some kind, actually.
Well, it looks interesting. Mostly for the fact that Megs finally seems to have broken down and got himself an Earth-based alt mode. I guess he decided disguise and hiding was pretty important after all. -
Presumably Cole had a mother, right? A good 70-80 years has passed since he got superpowers, so she's likely dead. She'd likely be Mrs. Cole, and that could be who the hospital was named for.

Ouch. That was an incredibly horrible visual pun they had in that trailer. Santa Claws.
Awesome trailer. -
Wait, so the Tree of Might movie is about an actual evil tree from space, and Goku has a doppelganger? I'm impressed that TFS didn't just go for the obvious parody of that, because that's weird enough on its own.

Quote:Well, yes, obviously. There always is. Which is why I think region locks on online content is silly, since there's always another way to get it. The first hit on Google is the official release, the next 100? Not so much. I don't get why companies are so eager to hand over the online business to the pirates, though. There are indeed episodes on YouTube, as well as high quality rips available over Bittorrent.

Useless page. Not available outside the US. Some day publishes will realize that the internet is global and region blocks only say "We have something you might want, AND YOU CAN'T HAVE IT!" to those interested in the shows. I suppose they think people won't try to find alternate ways to see the show... Have they not heard of Google?
