I'm a bit out of the Marvel universes, but Jean Grey... Dead? Alive? Somehwere in between?
Because when someone needs to die in an event, it's a free ticket to kill off the one called Phoenix. She always comes back, it's her thing. Usually on fire. -
Quote:Ah, right. Mine was just off bubbling an SR Scrapper, then having him hit Elude for good measure. The door thing, I usually do by accident when rebubbling people at the start of the mission. I do like how common Maneuvers and other team defense buffs are becoming. On some teams, I get to be softcapped, too!I cheat. No Power Boost, just zone stacking. I think I've done higher but I can't remember what it was...usually I can't get everyone to that level since they tend to run in the door without regard to getting the 3rd stack or higher. I can usually get one teammate to 5-7 stacked bubbles though.

I just got logged out again. If this forum software isn't capable of keeping a stable login session with the setting you require for this forum, then find one that is!
It's not like the forum theme here is that special, either, and the Hero/Villain icons should be good no matter what forum software you want to use. -
Wow, and I thought my 120% record was good. You using Power Boost or similar? Of course, if it's just me doing the Defense Buff thing, I hit an even 48% buff now. But Maneuvers has seen a bit of a resurgence since Stamina became inherent.
Personally, I like a good Radiation character, apart from my own Forcefielder, it's the set I like to team with the most. It's got a little of everything, and I never say no to an AM buff. End is good. More End is better. Plus, I get to use Force Bolt to knock enemies into the glowing area. I wish I'd get to see Fallout a bit more, though. Just for fun.
I also have a soft spot for a well-played Trick Archer. Mostly because they're so rare, and partly because I have a level 50 one.
Kinetics... I don't really care for that much. Sure, I get what they do and they're pretty awesome, but they're everywhere.
But I suppose what I really want from any support character, no matter the powerset, is someone who's not asleep at the keys and knows how to play it. All of the sets are pretty awesome, all in their own way, but you need to play to their strengths.
I do feel that I need to speak up on Forcefields a little here. Defense buff is it's main thing, but the bubbles have some handy sideeffects, too. But if you're also capped for Toxic Resist and immune to Endurance Drain in addition to being softcapped, then yeah, can't do much for you... unless you're fighting say... Battle Maiden, STF Lord Recluse, or anything else with a stupid high ToHit. Then I can re-cap you. -
Hmm, nice idea. I might go Helper, too. Is this per character or global, I wonder? Also, do Helpers have a different color chat in the Help channel?
-
Yes. Doesn't matter which two, but you need two different Tier 3s in the same tree to make a Tier 4. So, for instance, any two Cardiac Tier 3s can be used, along with the other salvage needed, to make one Cardiac Tier 4.

Well, yeah. He's the Evil Overlord of the World. You don't get that just by punching dudes. You need find the right dudes to punch, and also make a fairly comprehensive plan to pull it off. In Cole's case: Punch Hamidon when all hope seems lost, get declared "So awesome!" by the survivors.
As evil schemes go, it's a good one. Nemesis was trying the exact same plot with the Rikti, you know. He just underestimated the Rikti. Cole apparently knew exactly what he was doing. Don't underestimate his plotting ability. Many people have done that, they disappeared. -
I know of this one, too, and have /bugged it as well as PM'd a redname about it. I'm not sure it's a bug we want to have out in the open like this, the bug is worse than you'd think at first. And no, I won't elaborate on that.
But if you DO get stuck like this, type /stuck and you'll exit a warehouse on the island. The same one you exit from Praetoria, if I remember right. -
You know, there's something about that image that I find a bit... funny?
Look at them all, smiling and riding cool vehicles. Um, not to be a party pooper or anything, but the FF was founded because Johnny died. And now they're all "Johnny is dead! Let's have FUN!"
I don't know, it bugs me for some reason... -
Hmm, Spidey looks pretty good in white, actually. The rest, eh, it's okay.

Quote:There is the whole "built an army of War Walkers to invade Primal Earth" thing that counts against Anti-Matter, I would say. He's not the worst of the lot, no, but building an army of killer robots for invasion purposes does cause a bit of a blip on the Evil-o-meter.Speaking of taking initiative, it's sad that our clone takes the initiative of searching for 5th column bases instead of us in the Jenni arc.
@TrueMetal
Interestingly, Provost Marchand would probably agree with you, given his dislike for some of the praetors. Also, I wouldnt' say ALL the Praetors are "deranged despots, psychopaths and selfabsorbed megalomaniacs". Praetor White actually seems reasonably ok, though with a few "loyalty baggage" issues which can be fixed (most notably with Cleopetra and his old destroyers gang, which are both notably fixed in some of the Praetorian arcs), and though technically an ex-praetor, Antimatter seems to be ok too, if not for some jealousy issues.
I could see Marauder as being mostly okay, though. He's an angry man, and pretty dangerous if you get him mad, but he doesn't seem that evil. Not a saint, but not too bad either. -
The only character I've gotten anything better than a Common Alpha on is my FF Defender. Although, I'd call her pretty self-sufficient, too. Still, she really shines on a team, so it can go either way.
-
Quote:I will admit that doing the softcap though Maneuvers and Alpha is a bit of laziness on my part, too. Plus I am constantly amazed how my teammates can manage to get behind something or run out of bubble range when I try to rebubble them. Which is why I have Vengeance, too. I can't defend anyone from their own recklessness, but I can use their body for Vengeance afterwards.Power build up enhanced for recharge combined with a small amount of global recharge makes PBU available twice within the duration of the forcefield buffs. I can provide PBU boosts to both forcefield buffs applied to three people each time, allowing 6 people to carrying the boosted buffs throughout a mission. The only decision I have to make is who the one person (besides myself) that doesn't get the boosted shields, and that's typically a very easy choice.
I've gone through entire pickup taskforces without missing people when it was their turn to get the pbu bubbles, surprisingly. In the relatively rare instance that someone doesn't catch it, They'll just have to manage dealing with dispursion bubble to get their godlike defense.
It's quite liberating to give the team that level of defense without them tied to dispursion's radius. [censored] small buff that it is.
What? It pays to be prepared, and as long as people are in the big bubble of happiness, they're fine. 48% Defense buff fine, actually. Run off alone, and I assume they know what they're doing. -
Quote:I did have PBU once, but it only lasts for four casting of the bubbles. Not worth it, since I want to softcap the entire team, not half the team. Plus I really missed Dominate and Mind Over Body when I tried out Power Mastery. You shouldn't have any trouble with this even without Nerve (as long as you have PBU, of course).
I'm with Gargoyle_KDR. My FF def (with no PBU; I still rely on Dispersion) already softcaps everybody (including himself to all positions and psi). I was using Cardiac at first, but once I got my Miracle and Numina's, I was fine without it. I carry a few blues just in case I screw up and bubbles start running out in the middle of a long fight that's drained my end, but so far I've never needed them. (And in my case, there's Dark Consumption, too, even though I only took it as a less useless stepping stone to Soul Drain.)
So I went with Musculature, because an ED-free 32.5% damage buff is better than nothing. The longer duration on Tenebrous Tentacles is better than nothing, too, I suppose.
I did consider Nerve for the +3% buff to all my personal defenses (running Dispersion Bubble, Maneuvers, Weave, and Combat Jumping), but I couldn't find a way to turn the slots it freed up into as big a boon as a global 32.5% ED-free damage buff. -
I got Nerve for my FF/Energy/Psi Defender. I mean, why not?
I can softcap the team (if they're in Maneuvers range), and when I solo, my Dominate power lasts a little longer. The +Acc is just a bonus, but it's nice to be able to fight at practically any level and not miss much.
For End, I slotted the Miracle +Recovery in Health, and for Damage, I used som Set IOs to fish out a little more damage. I'm not softcapped myself, though, but I'm only a small luck away, so that's close enough. -
Ooh, when you do the reptile pack, please making an awesome dragon head, too. I know we have one, but I want one more.

I had kind of hoped that the suggestion would have been for MORE knockback. That'd be fun.
No, we do not need any way to turn down or mitigate knockback. Because then it'd become mandatory from some melee people that you'd HAVE to have that slotted, whether you want to or not.
If any change is to be made to knockback, it's to remove all "chance for knockback" and make them guaranteed. Energy Blast is annoying because you can't rely on the knockback, it just knocks them around when it feels like it. If the powers were guaranteed to knockback, only with various distances, then it'd be a lot better as you could aim the knock and be sure to get the enemy to land exactly where you wanted. (Try to hit the Scrapper, it's fun!) Even Kick would be much more useful if it had a 100% chance of knockback. It'd be a good "Go away!" power for those that want Tough, but otherwise don't want to be in melee.
So, no to any kind of knockback off-switch. But yes to making powers that do knock back reliable. Force Bolt is a glorious power, simply because it does allow you to put a bad guy exactly where he needs to be. Like introducing Trapdoor to the lava. (Then reintroducing him to it when he climbs out.) If more of the knockback causing powers could even get close to this kind of reliability, it'd be awesome. And overpowered, most likely.
EDIT: Hm, maybe I should make a writeup of an Energy Blast revamp based on that idea... -

Vampire-plants were a pain. They need sunlight, but it burns them. They are, granted, pretty much immortal, but they pretty much swap between "Need sunlight!" at night and "Oh no! The sun!" at day. Fun at first, then it gets old.

I know what my FF Defender would say:
"I have an item? Oh right. That thing Trapdoor gave me. I don't have that anymore. I absorbed it, I suppose. You know, it started floating and glowing and suddenly it went *pfoof* and I felt some kind of warmth inside. It's not supposed to do that? I hope it was supposed to do that, because mine did. Kind of handy, I won't lose it now.
I guess it makes sense, since my magic powers are inherited. If the power is in my blood, I suppose the Incarnate Shards would go there, too.
So to answer your question: My incarnate item is... well... me."
Got a Trick Archer who's been carrying around a magic feather since level 1, it would be logical to have that feather be her item. It's always been the origin of her powers, so using it to access the Well seems right. -
Wow, again? Good luck to you, that thing looks nasty.

It's probably just a precaution.
They found and hopefully fixed a critical bug. But just to make sure, they're re-releasing the entire part with the fixed bug in, instead of just the single file. To make absolutely sure that the part we get isn't corrupted someway.
