Count me in as a memember of this club.
My better half wanted us to make a couple toons to level pact, so I deleted a toon I never play with intentions of making something new.
The toon deletes, but the slot was locked.
I will say that when I sent in petitions, I got a real nice, speedy, response from a GM.
Now it is a waiting game....I have so many toons maybe this is someones way of telling me "no more toons!" -
Quote:Me toooooo. You'll get it when the store comes back up. (Yes, I am in the same boat.)
I deleted a toon on Victory to create another, so I could level pact it with my better half, and the slot is now locked.
Maybe someone is trying to tell me something
Lisa-Has too many toons..way too many -
You make somebody semi-rich because you did not have your reading glasses on when placing a bid in WW.
True story...sigh -
Quote:I like the way you think.I wouldn't so much call it a "lie" as them [the developers] knowing that if they admit to adjusting the recipe drop-rate, there will be a firestorm of fury and a lot of people deciding to decamp. So of course such a change would not be announced, or admitted to.
All I know is that nowadays, its very easy for a level 50 soloing on heroic to come out of a contact [not scanner, but contact] mission with either one basic IO recipe or.... no recipes at all. That is a DEFINITE downward adjustment, and I don't care who posts what; what I see with my own eyes will always trump a claim I cant see as being borne out by actual gameplay.
At this point I think a lot of people have left the game over AE-related issues. The last thing the owners/developers need right now is a confirmation that rewards have been reduced yet again, and you better believe they're smart enough to know that. Therefore I am hardly expecting a tacit admission of "Well yeah, we reduced recipe drops because of balance issues." Bwahahaha! So not happening.
The problem here is that an ever-increasing spiral of prices on the market is going to tick people off even more, which would be facilitated by a reduction in recipe drop-rates. Think about it: most people are doing regular content now, yet the market has not adjusted downward. Why not? This is the most likely scenario I can think of.
They nerfed the AE forcing people out into the real Paragon City.
Once these people spread their wings, and fight regular missions, and find a sorry drop rate for recipes, and a WW reflecting this drop rate......I see bad things arising.
Seems to me the Devs involved with this should form a team and spend an afternoon playing on the live servers as a real player.
But, what do I know....
Once again, good post.

Sigh. I think public opinion holds that there "Will Be" no such thing as an inexpensive Shields build.
Anyone who gives advice for a poor man's build would be going against this "LAW"...or at least that is how it appears to me.
I am sooo tempted to make one using just common IOs, and a few easily gotten uniques and procs and see what I can see.
I mean, I cannot believe the Devs would give us such a wonderful eye candy powerset such as shields, and make it playable by only the wealthy...especially when they say you can play anything with SOs.
I bet if you had asked for a build using six LOTG recharge IOS, everyone and their granny would be giving advice
I hope I did not get anyone mad with my saying all this....I didn't mean to, it is just, I don't know....I can see the high priced IOs as being luxury items to add to your toon...but making them mandatory for game play....and to such a fun looking power as Shields which most everyone wants to play....
/Shields on the cheap....here I coomeeeee...splat
Lisa checks herself out of the hospital for the 100th time, and thanks the Devs for Patrol XP -
You can get the Steadfast Defense by doing Bronze Rolls.
Good luck with your build.

Quote:AAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!They ARE attainable. You just have to work for them. HARD.
There is a reason they are called "ultra rare".
If everyone had them, they wouldn't be "ultra rare". They'd be "common".
Also, on an End-hungry build, they're not always the best bet. They're good for their primary purpose (damage, hold, etc), then Recharge, then Acc. There's pretty much NO end reducers in them. As such, there are other sets out there that are a MUCH better fit for many. And sometimes the benefits are better than capped damage and stupid-high recharge.
You do NOT need Purples.
You do NOT need Sets.
You do NOT need IOs.
They are NOT necessities. They are LUXURIES. If you want luxuries, you either work hard for them, or work hard to have the money to PAY for them.
Simply because this is a virtual world doesn't mean it is THAT much different from real life.
Sorry to burst into this conversation, but reading what I quoted made something inside of me snap like a twig. Please, please help me understand something.
..and I am in a rage, so, if my writing is not understandable, I apologize in advance.
If IOs, and IO sets, are not needed....then please, please, please explain why when you go to the different AT forums, the builds there REQUIRE LOTG recharge IOs, plural, more than one, they REQUIRE Numinas, they REQUIRE every single IO set out there that is so expensive you are required to have billions and zillions of influence points, and I know I am being dramatic, but I feel dramatic about this...not about the cost...sellers sell at the amount buyers buy, but about the necessity of the sets
Case in point....real life example here, I would love to make a Shield scrapper...I happily went to the scrapper boards to do some homework on the subject, and found out Shields demands IOs...it will not perform well without them
Explain to me, how, in one post these IOs are REQUIRED, or your build will not work, and in other posts your builds will work WITHOUT IOS!!!!!!!!!
Which is it?????
If I go build a Dark/Shield, and solo her with a build filled with Crushing Impacts and Common IOs ....will I die in every fight because I don't have Numinas, and LOTG recharges, four of them, and, and, fight with no accuracy because I had to six slot a set of expensive IOs to get a tiny defensive bonus which I can't see, even being as rotten in math as I am, being large enough to make a difference and, and, oh Fudgesticks....my confusion over this has been building and building and I, I, did a Nova.
If someone can explain this whole mess to me, send me a PM because I am sure I am the only player here who is bitterly confused by this "You NEED IOs, You DON'T need IOs thing...
I played this game before there was a Wentworths. The builds people played were SO, DO, and TO, builds, and they worked. Now, these same builds REQUIRE a bloody fortume in IOs or they will not perform.
...Oh cornflakes, I am going to go into the game, and punch some Hellions in the nose with one of my new toons...but....oh noes my new toons just have TOs in their build, the Hellions will hit them in the nose instead.
Lisa-Leaves thread muttering something about bandaids and LOTG..four of them..yes,that made an impression on me.
...and...thanks for letting me rage. I truly needed to express myself on this matter.
I return this thread back to you all. -
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!
Fullcringe, Fury Flechette, EnigmaBlack, Rieze, Celidya, and Shred_Monkey Big thanks, hugs, amd warm, hot out of the oven cookies, to you all.
Elec/SR it is
My Dark/SR is not yet old enough to do to The Wall...she is 46 almost 47.
An SR toon on each of my two main servers..I like that idea.
Valkii is on Infinity, so watch out Victory here I come
Now to ponder out a name.....
Lisa leaves thread pondering -
After reading all these, I was hoping someone would chime in with something I was told was "The Truth" by several different people when I first started.
"The Truth" being that if you got the Isolator Badge you would level up quicker, and get better drops.
Lisa-Smiling at the memory -
Hello all.
I have a question.
I would like to take on the Roman Cimeroran Wall solo with a scrapper, and not worry too much about the stacking Defense Debuffs. What would be a good scrapper primary and secondary to do this?
Would like a primary/Secondary that performs well using a mixture of Common IOs and sets such as Crushing Impact.
I have been thinking about doing this for a while, but issue 16 is the time to make new toons, so, well, I decided that it is time to get off my duff and doooo it
Thanks.
Lisa -
And hmm...does this mean that while my better half is standing in WW for hours, If I am teamed with him, I can go to The Shadow Shard and kill Eyeballs for the Sword???
Need to experiment.
Lisa. -
Lets see, I have a level 22 Spines Willpower that I was leveling before issue 16 hit so I don't know much, but as far as Lightning Field goes, I took it early because I was curious about it.
I killed a group of Hellions with it on while I was just standing in the middle of the group, so if it, unslotted, killed Hellions, then I am so taking it later on. I respected out of it as it was too early to take it...this was a testing toon...whom I am now going to keep.
(2) I am going flight, and took Air Sup as a pre req. It is a sturdy workhorse of a power and I think meshes in well with my lowbie powers. Thanks to Bronze Rolls, I have the knockback IOs to keep me in place if I fight with my feets off the ground.
(3) I am probably alone in this opinion, but I deeply regretted taking Quills before Stamina. I am not doing so on my Spines/Elec...or maybe I will, not there yet
Anyways, have fun with your scrapper
Lisa. -
I am soo confused. Is /Electric going to be one of those "You need a Zillion influence build to play this powerset."
As Shields is???
Because that is what this thread sounds like.
If I do not have a zillion influence to pour into the build, will an Elec/Elec scrap solo ok?
Lisa-now worried that she will have to change her plans -
Quote:Grin. Just don't take your Fire/Fire onto the Banished Pantheon Map at 4/8Not a vet, but if you ask me with the build sacrifices required to make one of these three combos workable against +4/x8 without insps, you'd probably be able to make a fire/shield/fire with better damage and possibly still better mitigation.
Now, if you don't mind using insps, all these combos should be pretty fine seeing how fast you're going to kill mobs and get insp drops.
On test, It was a glorious sight, all those yummy masks floating about, but think about the reality of it....
Consider that all these plus four mobs on a map set for eight will attack you at once...and you will get debuffed to the 9th degree, and, and, and you have to try it, at least once
Of course, if you have a billion dollar build, those critters you will come across will probably just feel like a kitten is nibbling your fingers...mine is an average Jane build, so I died.
I Rose With The Phoenix and died again.
I died gloriously, but I died.
I did this several times before I lowered the difficulty, and felt awful that I was the only scrapper who could not do the 4/8 thing.
However, on an average Jane build, Valkii, my Dark/SR did a 4/8 in a Council Radio mission and loved every bit of it.
You might want to consider a Dark/SR. You will probably declare a Jihad on her while you level her, but the first time you get two sappers sapping you at the same time, and your blue bar does not go down..you will smile and it will all be worth it.

Quote:Wait...did you just say Claws/Fire is a good choice for a scrap? I made one because I wanted another /fire toon and I had never tried Claws....but have not seen or read about that that pairing before. Did I read this right, and you did say Claws/Fire can go the distance??????
Claws-Fire/Inv would be my second option
I wouldn't go with anything Dark... just cause I dislike them... ;-)
If so, I am not going to delete her....she has Bat Wings, a Pumpkin head from the Zombie Invasion, and she has spunk and attitude...and is sitting at level 15.
Sooo....is Claws/Fire a go from a solo standpoint?
Lisa. -
???? Are your hearts not big enough to encompass all your toons??? Sure some toons become stepping stones to others, but is that reason to fall out of love with them??? There are many different types of love.
There is (1) the fierce passion type of toon, ala I have to play this toon everyday, (2) there is the comforting love of a chicken soup type of toon..ala I am not feeling well today, I think I will play so and so because I knew he will perform great.
There are more examples but I am in sort of a rush. I saw this and squeeled to a stop.
Relax, and don't feel bad if some of your "Fierce Passion" inspiring toons are now "Chicken Soup" type of toons. Fierce passion is not long lived, but Chicken Soup toons...they stay with you.
Sort of like real life relationships
Anyways, have to scoot my boots to work.

I too am going to keep watch on this thread.
I have a solo, level 21 Spines/Willpower I am loving. I don't know if it will really help much in keeping the bad guys around me, but I threw a Taunt Common IO into RTTC.
An almost all ranged concept sounds interesting for Spines, especially now with Blaze Mastery. Don't take Spine Burst or Quills you say...hmm...actually, when I get into the 40s, I can see myself doing this. I already deeply regret taking Quills before I took Quick Recovery, and Spine Burst right now is meh. Of course at 22, I do not have the slots to properly slot everything that demands a lot of slotting.
So far, one of my fav Spines powers is the power everyone says never take. Forget what it is called...Barb Swipe? At level one you have two choices, Lunge and...it. This power looks it is rubbing in the poison, and it never fails to make me laugh. I am hoping to be able to keep it.
Good luck with your Spines

My level 50 Fire/Fire has only one knockback IO. So far nothing has knocked her back so badly, and with frequency, that I have thought of going Acro with her.
But now that I have read this, and wrote what I did, I shall get knockbacked my very next mission

Hello all.
These changes to the MA missions has me worried.
Due to real life, I really do not have a lot of free time, so I have contented myself with doing a 50/50 split between running the MA stuff/and the missions outside the MA leaving no time to write a mission, so I am not sure about the mechanics and the connection between XP and tickets.
I have been reading with rising dismay, that some missions are having their XP, and, I guess as a result, tickets, drastically reduced.
However, from what little I understand, some MA missions will give full XP....how do I find them????
I am not looking for a "UBER" farming map mission, just fun stories that will give tickets. If there is a thread giving reviews for issue 16 missions that give tickets, please could someone direct me there??? Or give me hints of how to search for one at the MA mission finder in the AE building???? Or send me a PM with a mission number..anything will be appreciated....I am sooooooo confused, and I hate being confused.
Thank you all so much.
Lisa...or you could call me Jane Casual Player...if I am confused about how to find enjoyable missions that are worth some tickets, I am sure other non-authors are confused too.
Once again, thank you. -
I can see I am going to have to stop by HEB on my home from work this afternoon and buy some bacon.
Whenever I fry it up in a pan, I find I have a swarm of cats at my feet all wanting some. When I microwave the bacon the cats have no interest.
About that baconnaisse. I wonder how hard it would be to reverse engineer it and make it myself. Mayo, bacon, hmmmmm

Wow. BillzBubba, ErikHough, Nights_Dawn, Silverado, Umbral and SpiderTeo_OC...I am speechless. A big thank you for your help.
I will earmark this IO for my Elec/Elec and if I am lucky enough to get another Regenerative Tissue unique in a bronze roll, I will put it into a well slotted Fast Healing.
I knew about the origin being the determining factor for the bonus damage for Nightwand and Nemi Staff. If I knew Nightwand is the better fit for the Elec/Elec combo I will roll her as a magic origin when issue 16 goes live. If Nemi is better I will make her a Tech.
I always go out of my way to fight the Circle Of Thorns, and the BP so I usually take the Ghost Slayers Axe.
Nemi Staff does Knockback, and Blackwand does what? I know I saw a stream of black mist come streaming out of it meaning Negative Energy Damage?
So confused, but in a happy, excited, sort of way
Again, thanks
Lisa -
Hello everyone.
I received a Regenerative Tissue Unique in a Bronze Roll and want to slot it into my Fire/Willpower scrap, but,I am stumped as to the ideal place to put it. I was going to put it into Health, but Willpower has other always on powers. I did hear that with this Unique the more regen the power it is slotted into has, the more it increases the regen from the unique..is this true?
Also, I am going to make an Electric/Electric scrap. Would this Electric/Electric need the unique far more than my Fire/Willpower? If so, I will save it.
So, My question/questions are (1) which scrap will get more use out of the unique?, and (2) If It is Willpower, which power is the ideal one in which to slot it?
Thank you all so much.
Lisa-Very confused, but wants to learn and understand.
Ohhhhh..one more question. I turn 33 months next month and will be able to get Blackwand or Nemi staff. For a solo Electric/Electric scrap, which one would be better? Or does it make not one jot of difference?
Again, thank you -
I live in Texas. This forum is very sluggish. The rest of the Internet sites I have been to recently, like in the last five minutes, are loading kitten quick.
Don't know if this helps.

Quote:Hugs. Thank you Nihilii for your input. While they spawn in groups, often a member of group A will run to group B, and all of I sudden I find I am fighting two groups at the same time....that is a lot of Banished Pantheons all at onceBP might just be your achilles heel. Some masks and lieutenants have these huge defense debuffs I could see hurting fire armor a lot even with purple insps because of the lack of any defense debuff resistance, on x8 I suppose you're guaranteed to have at least one of these debuffers per spawn.
I always thought of ChiliCheeseDog Annie, my Fire/Fire as being the squishiest of my scraps, but the most fun...especially now that she hovers just over the bad guys heads and sends down fire upon them.
OH, and Valkii, my Dark/SR makes up for Annie. She is level 46. I pumped her up to +2/8 and took her on a mission in The Land Of The Romans...she did extremely well.
I guess the lesson learned from this is not all toons can go +4/8, and those that can, can't go +4/8 against every enemy type....and this is perfectly fine
And now that I think about it, the accuracy it takes to hit enemies four levels above you boggles my mind .
And, hmm, a few weeks ago, on live server, I got a purple drop from a minion, -1 in level to me...I remember this because he was the last in a group...and in normal play I do seem to get more drops fighting at either my level or -1.
Mayhaps fighting at -1 is nothing to be ashamed of...in some cases at least
Anyways, I am jabbering. Thanks again for the input Nihilli

Quote:Lisa rereads this, sits real still digesting the words she just read, then sits back in her chair, and lets out such a whoop that the cat napping at her keyboard leaps up and dashes away in panic. The best news (in my opinion) came not from the panel but just from discussion with Matt and Joe. I'm not sure when it's going to happen (likely I16) but soon at any rate. We are going to get a missing glowie/hunt indicator. When the remaining amount of glowies or needed enemies is 10% then they will show up on the map.
This means I will have no fear of Council Water Rooms. I try to avoid all missions that I know contains that room from hell...which is sad, as avoiding them means I also avoid the missions including Vampirys and Warwolves necessary for the Atlas.
And I can't tell you how many hours I have spent tracking down one minion, or one glowie in the Circle Of Thorns maps...and talking of COT maps...that cave map with all the layers...gulp..I will shall laugh at it, and bring it to it's knees
If this one item goes through to live I will be a very, very, very, happy camper....very happy. Words fail me at how happy I will be.
Thanks for this highly welcome news.
Lisa leaves thread dancing a jig
