  1. Ok, let me have a stab at it. Next to "TO" is a field. This is where you type your Global name. @nova tigress

You have to have a subject-"Money for Jetpack" I was emailing infamy for my new Widow to grab the jetpack in Grandville.

In the little box where it says Influence, type in whatever amount you want to email...I put in 100,000 for the jetpack.

Attachment is for sending recipes, inspirations, and enhancements. Drag and drop.

Then you write a short message.."Use this to buy jetpack"

    Then hit "Send"

When you log into the toon you wish to receive the stuff, click on "email" and then click "Claim."

    Easy Peasy

    Have fun
    Lisa.

  2. A whole issue devoted to Base Building?????

    NOOOooooooo.

However, I want some of what you are drinking

    Lisa-Grinning.
  3. No, I don't think so. I have been through it all. First I lost my mouse pointer, then my paid version of AVG decided that the new updater was the enemy and refused to allow the game to load, then I could not see what levels of enhancements my test server toon was slotted with so I could replicate the build on live.

And most recently, my toon's powers have reverted back to the original color.

    Shafted??? No.

This playerbase pulled together, pooled its knowledge, and helped those of us who are not real computer literate.

Like a lot of you have stated, there is so much these poor devs have to take into consideration. Diffferent Operating Systems, Different Video cards, different Antivirus programs, the list is endless.

And they want the game to work as much as we do. A purring, well running game is job security to them.

My better half, who played beta with no problems, could not log into the game when it went live. He got to the "User Agreement" page, and when he poked accept...his game vanished. POOF!

He contacted NCSoft tech, sent in the report they like to see, not sure what it is called, and he was happily logged in and playing that very same afternoon.

Shafted???? With that kind of Tech support?????

    Noooooooo

Actually, I am surprised they did not have us fill out a online questionnaire about what kind of systems we are running ala type of video card, antivirus program, things like that to help them understand what they are programming for....but what do I know

    Have a good weekend everyone
    Lisa.
  4. Found a link to this thread from another thread. Add me to the growing list of people who have had their powers colors reverted back to original.

This issue 17 is something else, but, we will get through it. Tech Support was able to get my better half logged in and playing, so I have faith all bugs will be addressed...

However if the costume tokens were given out as a gift, then to ensure they stay as a gift, we need another round of costume tokens.

Still can't read my assigned enhancement numbers as they are showing too small, in the enhancement management screen.

This is what I came to the forums hoping to find. My toons have had their power colors reverted back to the original color and I wanted to see if I was the only one.

I did bug this in Beta, and am rather put out that it ever made it to live. Respecing isn't remotely feasible.
I complained in Beta about this too.

I wonder what kind of monitors the Devs have that they deem this problem as being too insignificant to rate fixing?

Tell your wife she is not alone in her upsetment.

    I am upset tooo

  8. This is a false positive, I think it is called. My AVG, paid version, gave me the same problem.

This was a known problem in Beta that made it live.

    Lisa-Thinks this needs a fix.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all in game,
Thank you for this link. I will make sure Mark does this. It is so strange his ability to log onto Test, but not Live..and the user agreement going POOF when accept is clicked.

    Thank you.

Typing /windowscale auction 1 will put it back to default again (unless you've changed your global windowscale in the options, in which case you can just change the value there again).

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like you can go past 1.3 (it actually starts somewhere before that, but 1.3 is easier to remember than 1.27).

You can do the same for your enhancement tray with

    /windowscale enhancements 1.3
(the enhancement tray has to be undocked)

It's a fairly ugly workaround, but at least it should make the numbers easier to read.
I will indeed try this....but not tonight. I had a rough day at work....came home all set to play with issue 17 on live servers, but had to try to find a fix for my better half, who can't log into the game. I did not succeed

    Bed for me.

I will try this when I get home from work tomorrow evening, not being able to see my enhancement levels is driving me nuts.

    Again, Thanks.

    Lisa.
  11. Hello all.
First of all I am old enough to wear reading glasses. With issue 17, I cannot see the enhancement numbers in the manage screen.

My better half wears reading glasses and he cannot see the numbers either.

I went out to the 99 cent store and bought one of each power reading glasses and still cannot see the numbers.

My question is to all you young whippersnappers out there.....can you see the level numbers on the enhancements in the manage screen?

    Lisa.
  12. I was one of the folks complaining about this. I went to the 99 cent store and bought one of every power reading glasses they had. Even the strongest is not good enough.

I joked before about this....but now, now I am wondering.... Forget about the Devs hating Villains, in reality, and please say it isn't so, they hate those of us who are old enough to have to use reading glasses

    Lisa.
  13. Hello all.
First of all, for once I had no problems getting on to City Of Heroes this evening

All Beta long I fell victim to all the bugs, so I feel good about this.

However, my better half, who had only one problem in Beta, the AVG false positive problem, cannot log in now that this is live.

After I got on the live servers, I went into the living room and fired up his computer (he is at work and called me to tell me he could not log in) to see what I could do.

He is running Windows XP, but has a good computer and a great video card with the drivers updated, or so he told me....

At the User agreement page, I clicked accept, and the hour glass started working..then vanished. The whole thing vanished. It was as if the program went poof.

I then decided to see if he could log onto test.

    He can.

He cannot log onto the live servers, but he can log onto test.

What could be the problem here?

He uses the NcSoft Launcher to log into both Test and Test Server.

He does have a link to City Of Heroes in his Game Folder, and I did try that, that but it went POOf exactly like it did with NcSoft Launcher.

I will try any and all suggestions.

    Thank you.
    Lisa.

In the interest of computer secuirty, i'm not going any further with the update until I know what's up with this. I'm sure it's nothing, but i'm paranoid when it comes to my computer, i've already rebuilt this thing three times thanks to some nasty viruses

This sounds familiar. In Beta I could not log in because AVG thought the updater was NewHeur. I finally had to tell my Paid AVG program that City Of Heroes was a friend and to skip scanning it the program.

    That worked.

I am downloading The Patch for issue 17 now, and it is applying the patch.

    Fingers crossed.

I think I need to work on more story arcs!

However... I seem to be stuck. I skipped earlier contacts (went right to radio missions) on my lvl 36 scrapper. Now, he's struggling to get a contact! I thought that eventually a detective will have me meet a contact, but is there a certain trick to get that process going?

    Thanks!

All is not lost. What you can do is retrace your steps. It will take time, but it usually works out beautifully.

Open your inactive contact list and visit them. You will not get missions from the outleveled contact, but there is a chance you will get new contact from them. Visit the new contact, and if you have outleveled him/her too they will refer you to another contact....do this until you have run out of contacts to visit. You might be surprised.

I recall once I hit the AE building with a brand new toon, did not see my first contact, and I think I got to level 10 before it dawned on me I was cheating myself of contacts.

I was Magic Origin, so I went to Azuria and she immedietely told me to go see Seaborn in Steele Canyon. He in turn gave me the Fortune Teller mission

    Good luck

I ask this as I read somewhere when GR goes live that if we have a free respec that we never used prior, we will lose it if we don't use it "before" i17 goes live and the new free respec is given.

Why not make "all" respecs stackable regardless of where they come from? That way, for those who have not used their free respecs yet, why be punished by not letting them keep it? Think about it, we pay a monthly fee to maintain our accounts. For you long-time vets out there, there is something called loyalty to the game and players should be rewarded for this. So, any free respecs given either for patches or new issues, we should be allowed to keep and stack for our loyalty. What do you guys think?
Where does this "Punish" come into it? We are given Freespecs to help us heal our builds when there have been changes made to how our powers work.

Since the Devs do not have to give us these Freerespecs, they are are a gift for us to use with the only stipulation we use it before the next one is given.

Thus...if you choose not to use it, knowing that it will not stack, that is your choice.

So, Where does punish come into play????

Yes, I would like them to stack, but I do understand that they don't.

To repeat, If you choose not to use it, then that is your choice.

I am a trifle befuddled about the part of your post where you tell long time vets that there is something called loyalty....do you think long time vets know nothing about Loyalty????

Long Time Vets did not have Safeguard missions and thus no jetpacks. They had to run across the Hollows to get to the missions there...I recall getting within sight of the mission door, then getting killed by a Troll and having to make the journey all over again

Debt was not the handslap it is now, Debt was truly something to avoid. There was no XP smoothing....I recall when getting Stamina seemed to take forever and a day. Matter of fact, when XP smoothing went into effect, to me, it felt like double XP everyday...leveling was that slow.

There was no salvage, and no uber recipes to buy and sell at WW because there wasn't a WW. Just SOs. And without the income from selling salvage and recipe drops, Dos were expensive, and SOs were EXPENSIVE.

I was there when WW opened for business. I will never forgot the amazement I felt when I saw how much influence I was getting from selling salvage. I felt like it was raining influence

Anyways, I just got my boxing attire, so I am probably not what you call a long time Vet, mayhaps a medium time vet

But, due to how hard the game was then as opposed to now, I would say that the long time Vets, and even us medium time Vets, know exactly what loyalty is.

I tip my hat to those who have been here and actively playing since Beta

    Lisa.

Edit..actually, I think DOs were more expensive than SOs because the earning power wasn't there yet. I recall going to the Magic Store with what I felt was a ton of influence and not having enough...I had to borrow from Mark

I asked quite a few too. The system invited a lot of questions. I asked one question, and it wanted to know if I had another.

If the Devs chose to answer Mental Giant's questions it was because they wanted to. He didn't grab them by their shirtfronts, and tell them to answer his questions or else

I am sure Mental and I were not the only ones to ask a lot of questions, as I said, the system invited us to ask all the questions we wanted....encouraged us even.

  22. I too have a respec to use and a level 50 Fire/Fire with whom I am not happy with.. Strange thing is I was a ton happier with her when I built for acc, recharge, and endurance.

Since I got the fighting pool, and some defense bonuses, she feels, different...sort of fragile instead of stronger as you would think she would be.

I am tempted to use my respec, and my second build, and make her the pure resistance based toon the Devs designed her to be..and which is how I leveled her to begin with.

Anyways, as I am sure a lot of people are going point this out, Melt Armor is something you can happily exchange for Rise of The Phoenix...which is more than a concept power....it is a must have....in my book at least

    Good luck
    Lisa.
  23. WOW. When they answered my question about the ability to switch sides solo, my jaw dropped and I shrieked so loud with amazement, I never get chosen for anything, that I disturbed my kitty who was napping by the keyboard, and brought Mark into my office at a trot.

So, I can bring a bad-*** scrapper to the Rogue Isles, and mayhaps finally get to Grandville

    Happy, Happy, happy
