    Character: Arctic Silver
    Source material:
    Arctic Silver1
    Arctic Silver2
    Arctic Silver3
    Bio:

I didn't see any reason to change the original bio but CR mentioned wanting to do a "post accident" costume so I went that route. First we start with the physical trauma of being immersed in arctic silver.

As you can see Dr. Silver has had quite an ordeal. His lowered body temperature is freezing moisture in the air to his skin. Skin which is already on fire trying to cope with the relative intense heat of room temperature. In desperation the good doctor seals himself in a hastily constructed containment suit allowing him to gradually increase the temperature within the suit as he became more adept at controlling his abilities.

Finally I decided I was having so much fun that I did an upgrade to the original costume. I feel like it puts a modern spin on the original costume without sacrificing the core look of the character. I left in a couple of pieces from the containment suit because I like the idea that the final costume is just a progression from the containment suit. I especially like the way the goggles, hood, gloves and boots give it kind of an arctic parka feel. I apologize for the small images but Photobucket always seems to shrink them for some reason.

This was a lot of fun! Hope y'all like it!

Man, that's from before badges. I feel so old.

I remember that and the addition of plaque that was placed there when they fixed the bug. The bug was later re-introduced for short time due to an update or an issue release. I spent the next 15 minutes or so running around Kings Row screaming "Ishmael has returned!"

    Gauntlet 2.0

The only recent Gauntlet related response that I have seen from any developers was during I16 closed beta when a bug caused only the visual FX for tanker ST attacks to be displayed on any mobs affected by Gauntlet.

Castle reportedly said it was a bug and BAB said....

    Quote:
Single target attacks should only show the visual effects from the power on the target. "Gauntlet" is merely the AOE "Taunt" effect.

I'm perfectly fine with having the generic "Taunt" effect show up on all mobs that have been affected by gaunlet's taunt, but not okay with the electricity of an electrical melee attack showing up.

But, as I said, there's a flag on these powers that are supposed to ensure that the hit effects only show up on the main target that's not working correctly with customized FX. It may not be possible to restrict the VFX associated with the damage or secondary effects to only show up on the main target, but not restrict a generic taunt effect from playing on all targets.

  5. Congratulations to the winners!

I like the new look mousedroid, especially the in game pic with the gray knot work...

is there a site I can go to to get some inspiration?
This forum is a good place to start.

I'd say that the Project Rooftop website is another good place to get some inspiration.

The Marvel Directory website is another option.

I also find that the Random button in the character creator can help spark some ideas.

  9. Here's what I came up with.....

The Sasuke character appears to have a preference for navy and white so I tried to keep a balance of those two colors. To me this is really is a casual action look thus the impromptu "action sequence". Hope you like it!

I was thinking of a more casual look, than that of the old-school "hero" look. Maybe something close to a modern Sasuke' from Naruto? Anyways, ill leave it up to you guys!!
I'm not really familiar with the character but a little bit of Googling has given me the kernel of an idea. I'll work on it when I get home tonight and post the result in this thread.

  14. I went with more of a streamlined, modern day sword maiden look. No flowing capes or bulky armor, just a warrior woman and her emerald blade. The arcane hood hints at her mystical roots and I liked the way that the angelic top is reminiscent of a Celtic cross. I switched out her mask for more of a war paint look across the eyes.

RIF, eh? For some reason I thought the list of attacks included Boxing. So I reiterate my advice with the caveat that you add Boxing to the attack chain.

  16. I'd suggest that you go with a DM/SD Brute. That way you can use Fury and Against All Odds to boost your damage potential.

  17. Sadly, I will not be able to make TTC tonight. We're having a dinner guest. At any rate is there any way that we can get a sticky post for Tanker Tuesdays? It would checking the schdule much easier than looking for the last post.

In a fit of proactive behavior I have updated the Forums Calender with Tanker Tuesday entries from now until September 2012!

Is Shield/SS not such a good idea, I imagine it's a popular combo, how do others deal with the def crash?

At the high end will it be a bit gimp?
I have an SD/SS tank, an Invy/SS tank and a SS/Inv brute that all use Rage regularly and up until reading this post I wasn't even aware of the defense crash. That should give you an idea of how hard it is to deal with it. Of course I usually switch from damage dealing attacks to any AoE soft controls that I have available until the Rage crash dissipates so that may be a good way of handling the crash. They can't attack you if they're on their butts or stumbling around like drunken house cats.

  19. I personally would like to see something different than the current look of Granite Armor. I know I'm poking the tiger at this point but is it possible to set up Granite (and the other stone armors) as a series of selectable (and tintable) costume pieces so that Stone tankers can create their own look?

Oooo! A Holy Grail taunt in place of the standard grunt? That's almost as funny as when I replaced the rumbling sound effect for Rooted with a snippet from Henry Mancini's "Baby Elephant Walk"!

Your mom posted your pic on Failblog?

I love that my taunt can now kill thank you IO sets. Thank you.
The first time I tested my Zinger proc was on my level 50 tank against a largish group of Council in Steel Canyon. I almost fell out of my chair when 3 of them dropped as soon as I taunted. So very cool!

  22. I tried an Electric Melee brute a while back and was rather underwhelmed but that is probably prior to any changes made. Of course that's after having played an Electric/Electric blaptroller into it's 30s and, IMO, brutes to blaptrollers is a closer comparison than tanks to blaptrollers so YMMV.

Still, if you are looking for real Electric Melee goodness go with the blaptroller. They make scrappers cry!

I'm on board for the TTJ proposal! That and Liberty tend to be my more active servers.
