Now, by the same token, you're only 40-70% enhanced for recharge right?

Let's take a look at something like Knockout Blow. Now, I'm not going to be taking into account Arcanatime or anything like that. It'd changed my numbers a bit for sure, but the basic point remains.

Take KO blow and 6-slot it for Crushing Impact.

You're at roughly 101% damage enhancement and 69% recharge enhancement.

Note: Rounding to the nearest integer for simplicity's sake

A Common Incarnate would add 10% damage or 33% recharge due to the portion that ignores ED, you're getting pretty much the full recharge value of the enhancement out of it.
An Uncommon would add 16% damage or 33% recharge.
A Rare would add 21%-27% (33% or 45% boost) damage or 33%-45% recharge.
A Very Rare would add 27-35% damage or 33%-45% recharge.

Now I'm taking this into account beyond all other recharge bonuses beyond just the base recharge enhancement and the 5% of the set.

Unmodified for various critter types, resists, etc and assuming all attacks actually hit.
In a 1 minute period KO blow would do:

    (Damage Mod/Rech Mod)

    • Unenhanced: 316/316
    • IO Enhanced: 955/955
    • Common: 1005/1273
    • Uncommon: 1031/1273
    • Rare33: 1057/1273
    • Rare45: 1085/1592
    • VRare: 1083/1273
    • VRare: 1121/1592
    That's just one attack.

If my blaster only had one attack, damn right I'd be taking recharge over damage.

But my blaster doesn't only have one attack, he has several. I'm never ever in the situation that I don't have an attack recharged when I need it, bar being held.

As I'm never waiting for an attack to recharge, extra recharge is near useless for me, whereas the very rare core damage gives me 33% more damage enhancement. Akin to 4-slotting every power for damage pre-ED.

Yes, if you're in the situation where your desired attack-chain has holes due to lacking recharge, then go for more recharge. But if it doesn't, extra damage is a very viable option.

The very rares only gives 2/3s of that 45% above the ED cap. So 30% ED free.

But yeah, that's exactly what my plan was. I slotted the common recharge and then saved my shards so I could slot a rare damage as soon as they were released. So my powers are now at about 125% damage enhancement each.

Are you complaining about a lack of complaints?

Well you have to admit that's the fastest way to solve the 'problem'.

    Holophonics

It would be nice, but the main problem is that, as they say, the way it's done is by ensuring the sounds arrive at your different ears at a slightly different times, and for that to work in games the game would have to calculate that difference for every different sound made in the game, when that sound is made.

Not impossible but it would up a lot processing power that could be used for shiny graphics... I mean... er... gameplay!

  6. I think most people in this thread are misunderstanding the idea.

The suggestion isn't that you have two hours to change your power choice every time you pick a new power.
The suggestion is that you have two hours to repick your power sets within two hours of your character's creation.

And I don't see anything wrong with that bar what could be a lot of development time for a minor QoL issue.
  7. CoX does need light powers normal ATs.
  8. That just means you've always finished your story-arcs before.

That's right! one hundred million, just think off all the IO sets you could buy with that!

  10. I'd swap superjump and superspeed around.
A guy with rock powers can't run very fast (look at granite armour) but he can stomp about.
A guy with ice powers can't really jump, but he can easily slide along the ground at high speeds.
  11. I would definitely say Aim and Build Up first.
But as a compromise, how about Build Up -> Health -> Stamina -> Aim?

    This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here: Huge Success.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

    Aperture Science,
We do what we must, because we can.
For the good of all of us
except the ones who are dead.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
    And the science gets done,
and you make a neat gun

For the people who are still alive.

    I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
    Even though you broke my heart and killed me;

    And tore me to pieces;
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned, it hurt because
I was so happy for you.

Now these points of data make a beautiful line,
And we're out of beta, we're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned

For the people who are still alive.

    Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.

    Maybe Black Mesa.
That was a joke. Ha ha, fat chance.
    Anyway, this cake is great;
    It's so delicious and moist.

Look at me still talking, when there's science to do.
When I look out there, it makes me glad I'm not you.
    I've experiments to run,
there is research to be done

On the people who are still alive.

And believe me, I am still alive.
I'm doing science and I'm still alive.
I feel fantastic and I'm still alive.
While you're dying I'll be still alive.
And when you're dead I will be still alive.
    Still alive,
    Still alive.

TP Foe most definitely works in the arena.
  15. The good thing about CoH is that you can play your characters your way and still be about as effective as everyone else.

Most people combine primary and secondary attacks to get the most damage, but playing purely ranged is a lot safer, especially against enemies such as the Freakshow or the Warriors.

Just remember to play your characters how you want to, not how other people want you to.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Blazing arrow is... just OK, but other sets equivalent powers (let's say Power Burst) are much better and feel lot faster. And do not root you.

    [/ QUOTE ]
But power burst style powers do less damage than blazing arrow and require the user to be much closer to the target to use.

    Archery
    Snap Shot 37.8 Damage
    Aimed Shot 55.6 Damage
    Fistful of Arrows 50.6 Damage
    Blazing Arrow 145.2 Damage
    Explosive Arrow 50.1 Damage
    Ranged Shot 153.5 Damage
    Rain Of Arrows 150.1 Damage

    Assault Rifle
    Burst 60.1 Damage
    Slug 91.2 Damage
    Buckshot 50.6 Damage
    M30 Grenade 50.1 Damage
    Sniper Rifle 153.6 Damage
    Flamethrower 106.8 Damage
    Ignite 111.2 Damage
    Full Auto 156.9 Damage

Please explain how exactly Archery does more damage?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Aim + Blazing Arrow is how.
  18. No I believe the best thing would be to keep the two in Nova and just one slot all the attacks with acc.
  19. No it's not overpowered, my blaster can easily do more damage in the activation time of aid self than aid self actually heals.

Tanks aren't designed to kill things, they're designed to take the aggro so that others can kill things, simple solution to your problem? Get taunt and team with a blaster.
  20. You made a mistake in your thread title, you wrote 'newbie blaster' where clearly you meant 'noob blaster'.
  21. There is radiation on CoH it's just a defender set not a blaster set.
  22. I another good thing about Bonfire is that if you cast in the middle of a group of robots they don't get knocked back, only knocked down and so it, in effect, becomes an AoE hold power.
  23. I've got an image of a guy in a back ally opening his coat to reveal a load of enhancements and whispering 'Ya wanna buy some sets.'
  24. Those numbers in brackets are the levels at which the enhancement slot was added. The first one is always an (A) because you get one slot automatically.
