  1. Thanks, that last bit was basically the gist of my question - Ageless for endo so I can use Musculature alpha.

Of course that option has a lot of offense going for it, but something with cardiac/barrier would be more defensive.

    Too many good choices.
  2. So,

Been working on variations for my freshly iBlinged sp/da scrapper, and got to wondering about using Ageless for extra recovery vs. Cardiac for the endurance discount.

I know(think) the mids numbers for Ageless are either way of or just showing the initial super-buff, but I thought I read somewhere that it averages out for about 5 end/sec or so? If I understand it right, the last minute (assuming the t4) should be about 1.4ish/sec more than mids shows if incarnate powers are off, yes?

Also, Musculature radial gives a bit of a bonus to end mod, anyone know if that translates into buffing the recovery boost from Ageless?

Anyway, thoughts on something along these lines? Defense is in the "small purple to cap" zone, and hasten is a few seconds off perma. Also not dead set on the slotting in Death Shroud or Obsidian shield. In game those steadfast pieces are in OS and the full set is there; not in love with that either.

Budget wise this is about as expensive as I can go, and I'll probably think of something better than that hami in OS.

Maybe replacing Throw Spines with Fire Blast, as FB might have better DPS (I'll have to go back and check).
Interesting. I'm getting close to a build that I'll dig up one of the spines/dark threads for posting. For now I'll return everyone to their regularly scheduled /wp discussion.

Mids does seem to show around twice the dmg for /blaze as in game (at least on scrappers), which makes looking it at wacky.

    This.

I realize that not everyone wants to 'lead' a team - but most of the time there are a handful of folks redside wishing there was a team going, but unwilling to start one.

Use channels for recruiting and start teams on redside. Honestly, if we had more people forming teams, fewer people would bounce to blue, and there would be more teams on red.

    Just saying.

Also, I don't see the importance of being on blue over red for endgame. Most, if not all, of the latest endgame stuff has been either co-op or included a version for both sides. If it's about getting certain toons to 50, then go for it - but on either red or blue, starting a team is a much better way of 'getting' one that hoping someone notices you are lft.
  5. If I remember it right, Heroes and Vigilantes go to blueside Oro; Rogues and Villains go to Red.

I was running missions redside while Vigilante (scrapper), and wound up on blueside Oro when the team used Oro to go from one mish to another.

    Edit:

That was having gone hero to vig; I have no clue if what direction you're going affects what Oro you get in the "gray" alignments.

Any chance you happen to know one that includes blaze mastery? I'm having trouble deciding what to drop on sp/da/blaze while keeping fireball in, which is the current plan. My guess is swapping impale for the blast, but impale is so much fun despite the slow pitch/long activation.

I'm asking this in all seriousness. Could you clue me in as to how to get ten shards a session? 3-5 second times not required.

In my, admittedly more time limited, experience threads drop a whole lot faster than shards. And not by a small number. At best I think I've gotten 4 shards from an ITF, but in regular content I can recall one mission where I got more purple io recipies than I did shards. (2 vs. 0; mish at +1/x8, probably a tip)

Threads on the other hand drop like a metaphor about rapidly dropping objects. Even the 1:1 conversion, while great and I hope to use it in some fashion, doesn't seem to make up for the difference. Add in Astral merit conversion and it's just plain easier to get threads than shards. Bear in mind here that I rarely run the trials more than twice each a given time I set out to do them, I'd call it about a 50/50 split on iTrials vs. "regular" on my one iToon since i20.

I'm also down with the "we don't know what's coming" camp; it's possible that the next 4 slots come with some new trials for the xp, but the same materials. Omega will more than likely have it's own - or "Alpha" incarnate salvage will become "Alpha/Omega" salvage. It's also possilble that they introduce two more - one for the next for and another for Omega. Aside from being a pita to keep track of what is what, that's not that big of a deal if you can run at least a trial or maybe 2 runs each time you play. Getting the Empy merits makes a big difference for us casual types.

I noticed some new sidegrade/downgrade options. Useful I guess, but I haven't really explored them.

And x2 to what the Doc said about business decisions.

Really, not a big fan of this one anyway; there had to be a better way to balance dmg procs without almost completely devaluing them.

As far as Reactive is concerned, I think the issue isn't the ticks, it's the stacking. Since rains tick so fast and the % chance is so high, anything caught there gets the stack of 4 almost right away, and just gets another one when the first expires.

No stacking the DoT - problem mostly solved without completely making it worthless for a large portion of character builds, re-applying an already debated rule, and while giving a bump to the other three. They remain iminently stackable, while the dmg from Reactive does not.

All that said; I hope they find a balance point that still gels with my (and probably others') perception of Incarnatedom.
  9. >>> This message has been edited because I am not certain I know the 10s rule accurately. <<<

10s rule in an aura: 1 target every 10s or all targets in range every 10s?

    This.

Could also swap Burn for Rains. Seems like an appropriate amount of power in an aura for how incarnates have been billed.

I'll put a vote for doing /SD on a brute, just for kicks. AAO + fury is very sweet. It won't put up the big numbers of top dm/sd scrapper builds, but it's oh so satisfying.

Having said that, if you hate chasing runners, then spines/XX/blaze might be for you. All the joys of blasting with armor AND mez protection (varying depending on what you fill in for XX). This of course is a scrapper choice, but a damn fun one. Mine will end up being my first scrapper to 50 relatively soon.

Since you have a pocket /kin, just about any brute or scrapper is going to be pretty epic. Here's some thoughts that aren't ss/fa and that might overlap:

    fire/elec (He has a perma-/kin, why not?)
    claws/sr
    mace/sd
    dm/fa
    km/sr
km/regen (scrapper, considering one of these - power siphon seems like it might play a little like fury)

I also believe the Energy Manipulator chance for stun proc was never fixed just disabled from working period but someone else would have to confirm that. I know you used to be able to slot it in speed boost and have a 10% chance to stun the team member you had just buffed.
I recall reading something similar on the boards; with the explanation that you could self-stun with it in certain powers. Which would basically be the same cause as the misbehavior in sb, if I remember it right.

I'm surprised that I don't see more of these around, mine is on hold somewhere in the early 30s. The combos above are pretty spot on, lets you treat consume as a +end power and DC as an attack (which, pumped with fury and soul drain, isn't half bad. I'd expect FE to make it decent).

Or your going to have to use Whirling Mace more often and deal with things wandering while they are stunned. Unless you imob them but then your just negated the KB in Crowd Control.

I'm sure someone else will come along to point out what a pain in the rear the redraw is going to be to put up with every single time you use burn, or a patron attack or healing flames .
Pretty much all of the above. I'm no hardcore farmer, and I *am* a mace/ fan - but as good as the arc in CC is, it just won't be as fast to target as a PBAoE as mentioned above.

Redraw isn't that big of a deal - unless you're going for the outlier end of peak performance (which you are if you are making a dedicated farming build - otherwise why build just for farming), then even the redraw from using AD on auto (on my wm/sd for example) will feel like it eats into your attack chain. Using it with /FA would just introduce more. Redraw is a preferential thing; some people are not bothered by it, personally it drives me crazy just from an animation standpoint.

Having said all of that, it's totally doable. I'll do the occasional x8 AE run with wm/sd just for tickets from time to time. Survival is not a problem, but it takes me probably 5 or more times as long as a purpose built ss/fa running the same farm.

Ya, it will work, but I wouldn't go tossing it around as the next big thing. For better or worse on glance at the brute boards will tell you what farmer everyone wants.<_<

On a related note; am I the only person excited about the debuff resistance in Ageless? Have not seen much discussion of it, but for folks without DDR or recharge debuff resist it seems almost like a no brainer?
  18. I tried a SM/FA a long time ago, shelved for one reason or another. Tried SM/DA around the same time. Impossible Endurance Management was Impossible. Might be a good combo now with iFitness and Cardiac.

This thread kinda makes me want to go back to the sm/fa one though - even had a fun silly concept for him. At one point I considered reversing it and going FM/SA. Definitely have not seen that combo around.
  19. 1. Not enough knowledge to tell you, although given my opinion on two, I'd say go with your gut.

    2. Definitely. My guess is that buzzsaws will come back in some slightly greater than minor way.

I think this is a better way of putting it actually. Pre i20 it was trivial to just dump everything I had salvage wise and expect it to sell off relatively quickly. Now though, all but the most sought after salvage (unc and common) just sit at 0 bidders. My approach was always to sell that stuff low just to reduce the time spent dealing with it.

I imagine it swings back though, I have 2 primary toons and one needs to get built and hit 50. The other is pretty blinged out with incarnate goodies for the time being. Extrapolate that out to folks who have many times more 50s to bling up; once they are along in that process I bet some shelved toons get dusted off and people will want io salvage again.

    Or I could be crazy.
  21. I really have no place posting in this thread; if market ebil-ness is a criteria. That said, here's a data point for you:

There seems to be a ... lot ... of salvage sitting in the market going nowhere. I've pretty much given up selling any salvage except rares, uncommons and commons on the few toons with them for sale have sat forever.

    My Brute 2

"Accurate" sets are for powers that require a to-hit check to function, heals like Dark Regeneration and to-hit debuffs like your dark melee attacks, for example.

Sets without the word "Accurate" in them can be used in powers that don't require a to-hit check. I know there are some of these for to-hit debuffs, but don't know what they are. Healing sets make it easier to understand since the phrase "to hit" doesn't appear twice:

Accurate Healing: Dark Regeneration, <the dark misama heal>, etc
Healing: pretty much any heal, regen, or +hp power. (Energize, Healing Flames, etc)
  23. Here's a vote for shield. Works great in iTrials. I keep trying to level alts, but the wm/sd combo is just too damn fun.
  24. Interesting that no one is bringing up Ageless in this discussion yet.

I'm torn between that and rebirth. Barrier seems common enough on teams and redundant enough on /SD that I haven't given it much thought.

Ageless though, the end management seems like overkill (except for my wm/sd brute that runs spiritual instead of cardiac - and is considering a move to musc depending on how ageless pans out), but I'm more interested in the debuff resistance that it affords. Which is heavy, and to everything, and unless I'm mistaken, perma at a decent amount on the T4.

    Thoughts?

Agreed, even the 25% chance for DoT on the uncommon seems to fire alot when chaining AoE.

I'm *almost* tempted to try out the one that slows on my sp/da scrapper, but I doubt it. The DoT is too much fun, and if that one ever gets to 50 it'll be hard to pass up.

Call me crazy, but I like the extra DoT so much that I'm probably going to sit on the far right Rare for a while (the 75% chance for dmg, with no -res proc). The rare will come eventually, but at the rate I play it will take a while.

    For ze OP:

As far as the escapee phase, I found that standing right in front of the door works best for my wm/sd brute. With DB you probably have a decent AoE chain - more with Judgement - so I'd try that. Let your team mates behind you get the runners that make it through. Folks pretty much have the idea of how to get this done now and should be backing you up. I don't think that brutes are a good choice for chasing runners, but my experienced is limited, so ymmv.
