I've lived through it at least once on my Regen (probably Dull Pain + Instant Healing), and someone with Willpower was able to consistently survive it. I haven't heard any other reports of surviving it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've survived it on my /SR....but it was more luck then anything....the dumb broad figured it would be a good idea to hit me with Black Hole immediately after Soulstorm -

Bring some purples. Having just 1 or 2 up at all times will help. Have some breakfrees on hand for the Fear, but don't bother using them against Soulstorm you wont really break it. If Soulstorm hits you're pretty much boned all you can do is hope you have enough HP to survive it. Soulstorm can miss though, which is where having a purple or 2 up will help you.
Pretty sure the Phase attack also requires a tohit check...sometimes she'll hit me with it sometimes she wont... -
You can't attack while running Invisiblity, but you can while running Stealth.
Stealth makes you harder to see, so you can get closer to the mobs before they spot you. But they will spot you once you get in close.
Invisibility makes you completely invisible to any mob that doesn't have +perception. Rikti Drones, pretty much any mob with "Sniper" in it's name, and all Knives of Artemis have +perception. There are others, but those are the first that come to mind. -
Yep.
Been doing some further testing, apparently those 51s didn't actually spot me, it was the Pylon behind them that did
Level 50 DM/SR Scrapper, with Super Speed and a +Stealth Celerity IO. Apparently completely invisible to Rikti Drones.
Logged in a different scrapper.
Level 50 Claws/Regen Scrapper, with Super Speed, +Stealth Unbounded Leap IO, and Stealth. Get's spotted by Rikti Drones (level 46 or better) when he gets within about 30' of them.
I guess my /SR is just lucky..../shrug -

I can't tell if you're being facetious or not...in case you aren't, and are being serious, the age of the character and costume in question does not matter.

I think you need to check the batteries in your sarcasm detector. It's far too over the top for them to actually believe it.

OK I'm confused...so I logged in my scrapper just to check...as I type this I'm standing in the middle of a bunch of level 50 Rikti in RWZ (including several drones)...my scrapper is using Super Speed and a +Stealth Celerity IO...and after 5 minutes still no aggro...am I just lucky?
Edit: Moved to some 51s and they spotted me.

Doing a Google search for Nexus Argos came up with full bio page with photo.
https://www.virtueverse.com/index.ph...;printable=yes
The character is almost an exact clone of Captain Mar'vell, even the bio. The kicker? at the bottom of the page it reads "Character influenced by Captain Mar-vell from Marvel Comics "
[/ QUOTE ]
There's no resemblance there!
[/ QUOTE ]
The original costume looks pretty generic as is. I don't see where it stands out any from countless other Silver-Age style 3 color tights/cowl/cape/boots costumes.
Had I seen that guy running around Paragon, I would not have given it a second thought and definitely would not have immediately thought Captain Marvel.

You know, here in the States, we get a few holiday weekends to really kick back and relax. I had my coffee poured and was really looking forward to playing before having to run around and do the stereotypical BBQ thing today with family. And CoH/CoJ decide that an optimal time to do server maintenance is on the holiday??? Times like this make me glad that within the next 6 months there will be some healthy competition in this marketplace for MMORPG superhero fans. Then CoH/CoJ can do server maintenance all day for as much as I'll care...Happy Memorial Day NCSoft!

So at level 27 you could get missions in Talos or IP. However, I believe Talos ends at 27 so you may outlevel that soon, whereas IP goes up to 29 or so.

thats what I needed
thanks for the help

I'm reasonably sure that Talos and IP are both 20-30 zones... -
You said the battle dialog was triggered, is it possible that one group is significantly more powerful than the other and are winning the battle before you find them? So that when you arrive on the scene they just look like a typical spawn?
Only thing I can suggest is kill everything before triggering the battle that way you'll know that any mobs you find were part of the battle. Or use an indoor map. -

First question. I've noticed that when i go into the parties that i have managed to join that my toon (as i believe they are called) doesnt really live up to its role. As a tank i would assume i would survive a long time and take a load of damage. Not the case, as i can't seem to survive the first group of enemies we come to without running through all my health inspirations and still ending up in the red. I don't really focus on Enhancements much. Is this a mistake? do they make that big of a difference at this early in the game? and how can i better distribute them if i should be.
[/ QUOTE ]
There are many variables here. You say you are a tanker, but what is your primary? Stone, Invulnerability, Fire, Dark? Some sets a little tougher than the others fresh out of the box. Some really mature in the early twenties. Some become totally uber in the mid 30s.
Have you taken the "toggle" powers from your primary or only the "auto" powers? Toggle powers are always more powerful than auto powers. Taking only the auto powers is a sure way to get your tanker pasted.
What level were the enemies you were facing in relation to you? +0? +1? +5? In general you wont be able to handle anything over +3s in the early levels without tons of support. And those +3s will be really tough for you.
As far as enhancements go, before level 12 you can safely ignore them and sell any that drop into your inventory. At level 12 you can start buying and slotting level 15 DOs (Dual Origin) which are twice as good as the TOs (Training Origin) enhancements that are availble in the early levels.
[ QUOTE ]
Salvage and Recipies. Do i sell them? keep them? use them? honestly i have found them to the point where the box for it was filled up. Luckaly i stumbled across pocket D and discovered the bank they had. but still, since i've been saving them all in case they had some great purpose later on, they build up incredibly quickly. What is the best way to go about using salvage and recipies at early levels in the game?
[/ QUOTE ]
Generally speaking it's not worth trying to store up recipes and salvage. If you don't plan on using them then just sell them on the market or to an NPC store (the NPC store will sometimes give you a better price if a particular recipe or salvage isn't selling well on the market). Level 10 through 25 generic (not a named set) IO (Invention Origin) enhancements aren't really worth the cost IMO if you are new and still a little shy on cash. When you reach level 32 however you should definately ignore SOs and get as many IOs as you can since at that level they will offer better bonuses and wont "wear out".

Creating toons is probably the funnest part for me so far. but i'm always questioning as i level up weather or not i should try and focus on the primary skill set for my class, or to evenly distribute between primary and secondary. I'm sure this question will proove rather difficult to answer due to good character builds being a matter of opinion and experience. Currently I'm wanting to make my main toon a Scrapper with Broad Sword/Shield Defense sets. What would be a good way to distribute Skills and skill slots as i level up?
[/ QUOTE ]
Totally personal preference. If you post your build in the forum for your particular AT you can get some suggestions on how to tweak it, but there is no real right or wrong way to build your toon.

What is one of the more popular servers with alot of people willing to party and hang out?
[/ QUOTE ]
When you log into the game the servers are listed from least populated to most populated. The server you used last will be at the top however. Freedom is by far the populated server (warning: many people on the forums hate Freedom and will sure soon turn up to bash it) Virtue is the second most popular and is also the unofficial RP server if you're into that.
As for the other servers...meh they aren't important.

A thread you started less than 24 hours ago and has only 2 pages of replies is "long and active"?
Anyway, your question was answered within the first 4 responses in that thread. But by all means if you aren't satisfied with that response then PM Castle. -

The level limited EB is probably what caused that.
AE and Task Forces work differently, the OP was referring to standard missions and radio/paper missions. -
Orange minions and Red Lts shouldn't be appearing in a solo mission set on Heroic at all.
Are you sure you're on Heroic?
I haven't noticed it happening at all, I guess it's possible that maybe your account is bugged? If it keeps happening after you make sure that you are set to Heroic then you should probably start a /bug ticket. -

It took me almost 3 1/2 years, but just 20 minutes ago I finally dinged 50 on a villain.
Focalor: Dark Melee/Fiery Armor Brute
It took me around 100 hours and I soloed him about 95% of the time. -
ESPerOne: 50 Blaster (Energy Blast, Energy Manipulation, Munitions Mastery)
Maxwell Houser: 50 Tanker (Invulnerability, Super Strength, Energy Mastery)
Dash Redfist: 50 Scrapper (Dark Melee, Super Reflexes, Body Mastery)
Horseplay: 50 Scrapper (Claws, Regeneration, Body Mastery)
Bob the Burner: 50 Controller (Fire Control, Kinetics, Fire Mastery)

Firehorse: 50 Blaster (Fire Blast, Fire Manipulation, Flame Mastery)
Pretty sure that's the right order for them...
I really have to get around to getting a villain to 50...
I've got a MM who's been sitting at 39 for like six months now because I've totally lost all interest in him and he's teetering on the edge of deletion... -
Flair can still put on entertaining matches, and I think he deserves to wear a major belt one more time before he retires if only as a way of saying thank you for all you've done for the business.
The Steiners haven't done anything for me in like 15 years.
Sting is OK and probably can pull off another year or three in the spotlight.
Duggan and Slaughter need to stay in the back. I don't mind them coming out every once in a while and putting on a match for their hometown fans, but Duggan definately needs to stop making regular appearances. -
A great Christain vs Kaz(sp?) match.
Bunch of Angle segments.
Nothing else that was interesting enough to draw my attention.
Edit: And just to get it out of the way. -

Hospital shot of Cryptic or the NCSoft QA team or...well, it's gotta be somebody. I don't see Positron or States in there, though. I wish I could see the shirts better.
