There is a thread in the Champion forums regarding an event today at 5pm Eastern (2pm Pacific).
The Carnies are/were hosting it. -

Sounds like something got seriously screwed up during your install. When you get into the game, press C (to open the chat window), and type /windowresetall. That should give you a normal interface including your powers and such. If not, then open the menu (in the upper-right corner) and toggle the windows you want to view individually.
Also in the Menu is the Options, where there is a Keymapping tab that shows you the complete list of controls for the game, and DOES allow you to change anything you want.
One thing I suggest starting with is the "Graphics and Audio" options and changing the Window Scale for your User Interface so it gives you more room on the screen. This can also be done by changing your Resolution as well. -
Combat Jump includes MovementControl, which is what we are referring to when we say "air control". It lets you change direction more easily instead of keeping your current momentum in the air. According to City of Data, it even has a higher value than Super Jump does.

Quote:Yes, it works within the same master account as well.I was still able to create a trial account using the serial code they provided, but when I updgraded to a full account, I didn't get anything that told me I was getting a free month on my existing account.
Now, I've never done this before, so I don't know how it works. I assumed that as soon as I paid for the game with the "Friend" account, I would get credit on the first account, but does the "Friend" account have to pay for another month after the first "free" month is up? Or do I just not know where to look for the one month credit on my main/first account.
If you log into your main game account and go back to the Refer-a-friend area, it will show you the status of any current invites at the bottom of the page. Like Roderick said, once you subscribe for at least another month beyond the free retail time you got on the second account, your main account will get the free time... and that section of the Refer-a-friend will say "Reward Earned" next to the e-mail address you used to send the code to yourself.
Quote:2. When your friend activates the trial account to a full retail account by buying a retail box or buying a direct digital download and then pays for their first month of subscription, you will have one month of free game time credited to your account. -
Quote:It's probably best to use it on EVERY instance you have running, cause you'll eventually be on the second screen at one point or another to either trade, sell, or even just logging off and on, which will increase performance for those transactions as well. The command only slows things down when you are NOT using it, so you wont have to worry about what it'll do to you main screen....which leads to my question about the /maxinactivefps command. Do I only want to do that on the secondary account?
Personally, I also added the command to a second startup shortcut so it's always active when the client starts:
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh -maxinactivefps 1 -
Quote:Lowing the number of slots you have on a server would be counter-productive to the fact that the number of slots have been increased from 8 to 12 to 36 over the years due to people with "alt-itis" running out of room on ALL servers already and/or enjoying their server so much they want to stay with the same crowd on new and different toons. What do you propose you do to the people who have most of their 36 already filled up on ALL the servers.. make them delete them? roflYou know, there is a much more logical solution to the "Server Population Disparity Problem." Instead of merging servers like everyone always suggests, why doesn't anyone ever prose to reduce the number of character slots? If everyone only had five character slots per server, they'd have little choice but to branch out to other servers to create more alts. Not only would this likely boost the population of servers like Pinnacle, but it would probably have the added side benefit of reducing lag on servers like Virtue and Freedom during peak hours and during major events.
Yes, I know it is at least as bad, and probably a worse, an idea as server mergers, I just wonder why no one ever suggests it.
Also, it would do NOTHING to reduce lag on Freedom, Virtue, or anywhere else for that matter when you consider that you can only use 1 toon at a time anyway. Your logged out toons don't make the server lag, and if you like a server, you'll play there on existing toons anyway.
Actually, the only way it might reduce any lag (I don't personally have a problem on Freedom, but I don't hang out in Atlas either).. is because many people would certainly quit the game. Problem solved? haha -
To expand your idea, they could probably implement this by adding links next to the Salvage in the Decription tab for Recipes to "add to my wish list", then the WW table on the left side would have a "Wish List" category you'd click on and have everything you selected appear ont he right side.
There could even be wish list links next to any [item name] in descriptions, including the rest of the IO set recipes that display at the bottom of each one. This would make completing a set even easier as well.
Either way, I'm fine typing the names for now, and maybe we'll see this in the suggestion forum soon -
Quote:Setting maxinactivefps to 0 doesn't make the frame stop, it disables the command and lets it render as many frames the rest of your options and system specs allow it to. You are thinking of the other command people used to suggest, stopinactivedisplay, which would sometimes prevent the background characters from doing what you designed them for and/or eventually disconnecting from the server.A critical key to multiboxing performance is the maxinactivefps command. Don't set it to zero or characters won't be able to move when their game client loses focus. I typically set it to 5 via a slash command, /maxinactivefps 5.
I agree that setting maxinactivefps to a low number is a great help on performance, but if you are using fullscreen and can't even see the other window at all, there is no reason not to bring it right down to 1 or 2 and maximize the effect. -
I hope they realize that GR is not a separate game, so wherever CoX is running, GR will be there using the same servers we already have. The only issue then becomes whether or not the server hardware would be upgraded at all or not, but that's a compeltely different issue.

I blame Umbral for using the quote feature, when nobody else did!

Well, not in under an hour like the usual Mo runs, but we were killing everything in our path along the way, so it was good fun either way. We had to let one member go for not listening to instruction and trying to speed through and almost dying in first mission. I hate doing such things, but I've been feeling sick this week and I wasn't about to babysit anybody tonight. I'm sorry.
The rest of the team performed fabulously, and though we had a couple close calls on the team from cysts/ambush spawns.. the recovery was practically instant. Nice job and congratz everybody! -

Last time I did my heal farm, my progress was as follows: (I think I actually did a TF in the middle somewhere as well)
That's roughly a little over 1M progress for an 8 hour period.
Edit:
Nevermind, I just remembered that when I do my farm, I have a second account on the same team with 13 gladiators to provide extra targets and faster progress. -
I blame tokicho for adopting Turg... good luck!

This. We run 3 teams of people every Monday night, and sometimes have even more people interested as well. It could be fun to move as one huge group sometimes... or even have bigger and better TFs to handle the larger groups.

Quote:I used to love hearing that song in the morning before school.. made me not want to go. hahaIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII dont wanna work, i just wanna play CoX all day! (the fact that I know that song shows my age... and im only 24, 25 ON THE 17th WOOOOOOOOooooooooooo oh wait, im out of rights to gain by getting older, so now birth days are just a step closer each year to the end of the plank that is senility.)
This guy took it seriously.. -
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -compatiblecursors 1

CoX does not require DirectX 10, or else people with WinXP would not be able to play.

You can leave a mission and do something else, and the mission will still be there (for a limited amount of time), but if you log out, it WILL reset immediately... just like in TFs when all members of a team log off and then log back in again to reset a stuck mission.
