Quote:His bug wasn't the fact that the TF ran at lvl 15. It seems like he knew that.this isnt a bug, a majority of the tfs are designed to be run at the highest lvl available (for instance the posi range is 10-15, but the enemies will always apawn at lvl 15 regardless), this same deal holds for all freedom phalanx tfs, all the villain sf's, and LGTF.
ITF i know is one of the only ones that spawn at the lvl of the leader
His problem was that when everybody on the team was leveling up, they were still locked at lvl 10. He thought that as they leveled up, the SSK would bump up their lvl as a team, but it doesn't.. at least not for TFs as of the patch at the end of October. -
Your level is locked at the start of the TF.
It's definately a design decision, and fairly recent one at that... maybe November?
Edit:
According to Wiki:
Quote:As of the 10/28/2009 patch, Task Forces that are not Flashback or Architect are level locked at the time the Task Force is created. Also, due to issues with the Enhanced Difficulty Options introduced with I16, the team leader's notoriety setting no longer has any effect on the enemy spawns. -
Quote:My method when I solo: 3 accounts...If I am available i can anchor for you so you get max heals all on the same team. Let me know when and i'll try to lend a hand.
Main account earning the badge: 7 gladiators, including 3 LB Wardens
Account #2: 13 Gladiators, just padding extra targets for faster credit.
Account #3: random.. just to hold open the opposing side of the match.
I plan on doing the same thing again, and anybody who wants to earn the badge can just jump on the badge team and huddle up. It should go fast.. as long as I don't DC. lol If you want to put a toon on the opposing team as well, ur certainly welcome to. Thanks
Quote:I can help out with the PVP Rep if ya need, even thought I just finished it on my main toon last week. I can have 3 lvl 50 heroes on at once if you wanted to make it go a little faster. I would also like in on the heal badges. Funny this came up, I was going to ask MB if he wanted to set it up again since I knew he ran it before.
Quote:Well, I wouldn't mind getting in on this with one of my villains - probably my brute Mr E-Villain. I also would need the 400 rep for the LW2 gladiator.
So I guess we just have to figure which day and what time we want to start it off. Since we aren't even ready yet, this weekend is probably out, but maybe after one of the Horde events on a Monday night would be a good time to start it? -
I should be good for this one. As far as who to bring.. that remains to be seen. Lately, I don't know who I'm using in the next hour, let alone who I'll want to use next week. haha
-
Quote:Well if you are going to join me, Paragon, (and hopefully the OP) sometimes in the next couple weeks, all you need is the badge for earning 400 PvP Reputation. That awards you the Longbow Warden2 Gladiator that you will need to earn credit in the Arena.heal farm <.< empath badge >.> XD me wants. lol. i would love to join if this gets set up. i got a emp on hereos thats working on either the 3 or 5 mill badge currently.... cant remeber. haha. is there anything in particular i would need to do to be able to do that?
The more the merrier! It might take less than a single day if we get enough people. rofl *wishes -
It's easier to charge the Auto/Toggle powers because they are issued small incriments of time depending on how long you are signed off, wheras single-click powers require much more time before you finally earn 1 "charge".

Line breaks can mess up the bio for some reason. Pressing backspace on them will sometimes send your cursor to the first position or up to the top of the bio at times, instead of actually deleting the line break. We'v ha a few threads about this in the past as well.
This is how I work around it when it gives me a problem:
- Put any letter at the end of the previous line.
- Put any extra letter at beginning of the next line.
- Highlight those two letters (and everything inbetween).
- Press Delete. (the line breaks should now be deleted) -
Quote:Having the powers slotted or unslotted shouldn't make any difference at all. I don't believe the enhancements have any effect on the MovementControl aspect of the power. The only reason a faster RunSpeed may have an effect is if your initial momentum going into the geyser skews the calculation and sends you to the wrong place, which is why many suggest taking a short moment to enter the geyser "correctly", which should negate any problems.Just wanted to make sure because with swift and quickness both slotted with SO's her base speed is better than 25mph and this is at level 22. It's only going to get faster, maybe not much, but still that's quite a bit faster than your basic jogging speed.
Quote:I've been doing more experimenting - now I'm reassured that I'm not doing anything wrong but that the geyser that led to my initial question is just a bit broken - and I'm pretty sure now all this "powers off" stuff is hooey. If you don't press movement keys when you're in flight, it makes no difference at all; if you do, some powers are giving you a bit more control, and what's wrong with that?
I agree with you, there is certainly no need to have the powers off, but I stick by my suggestion to not touch any movement.. at least not until the last few seconds of the flight (to fine tune your landing).
As an example, if you put SS on and HOLD forward the entire time, you are almost certain not to go any farther, but even fall short instead because you didn't get as much effect from the geyser. BUT, if you let go of forward the instant you hit the geyser, then it should work correctly almost every time.
Either way, I'm glad you have it working in a way that helps you enjoy the Shard. We need more people out here. lol -
lctrl, lshift, lalt are not actually modifiers, they are stand-alone keys. When you attempt to chord with them, it defaults to the standard ctrl, shift, alt combinations anyway, which allow both the left and the right keys to work the same way. There is no way to separate lalt+KEY and ralt+KEY to make them act differently.
lctrl, lshift, lalt should technically only be used when binding something to that key specifically by itself, not in conjunction with another key. The proper usage here would simply be alt+KEY.
It still works typing it like that, but it's not good practice as the L just gets deleted internally. You can verify this by doing a /bindsavefile after making such binds and checking the results. -
Yes it still works. The last time I ran that, it took less than 3 days to get Empath. This was within the last few months (after the changes).
I'll be happy to join you, but I need to get 400 rep on my villain first so I can get her the badges too.
On a side note, I'm working this weekend, so that specific time isn't really good for me, but we can figure something out. Since we AFK it anyway, it only takes a few minutes to set up whenever we are available, and then we'll let it run it's course.
Feel free to send me a Global message in-game, or a message on the forum with your availability... and if somebody wants to help me speed up my 400 rep on my villain, that'd be cool too. Thanks!lol

Quote:I was just reading this thread and the whole "Powers Off" thing and "Entering at the right speed" thing and now I have to ask a question, and keep in mind that I'm new and have never seen this zone yet.
I have a Claws/SR scrapper with both Swift and Quickness, neither of which can be "turned off" is this going to give me a problem when I finally reach this stage in her development?Quote:Not a lot, the bonuses they give are very small and jump speed matters a lot more than run speed. As I said above, I've entered geysers with Super Jump and Super Speed turned on with no problems.
...and as a couple of us noted.. as long as you don't press anything while you are in flight, it should bring you to the intended destination anyway, or at least reasonably close.
Buy the flight pack anyway as a backup, cause even Veteran geyser travelers can run into a moment of lag or something else that may cause you to have to start back at the beginning again if you don't have a backup plan. lol -
The Development forums do have a little bit more info on Going Rogue and possible ideas for pre-GR. I believe there is even a thread dedicated to discussing the video card recommendations.
I glanced through that area before, but I decided to stay away from worrying about specifics until time got closer... just in case things change at all. -
Quote:I'm not sure what exact results you are getting but this is my experience:I tried your bind and it didn't work consistently. On rare occasions it would fire off the power if I clicked fast enough but I need it to work every time.
- I press the button
- The next ally is targeted
- Speed Boost goes off (or queued if the power is not fully recharged yet, or if the target is out of range. As soon as the power is recharged or you become in range of the target, the power finally fires)
- I press the button again
- The next ally is targeted
- Speed Boost goes off (etc etc)
I don't know why it's not working consistently for you, but the only other thing I can think of as a workaround for you is to bind another key (like numpad0) to target_next_friend, then just use numpad1, numpad2, numpad3, etc for the various buffs you might have for each toon. That way you'll be able to target the ally separately and buff him with anything you have before moving to the next person. You can even bind the fortune power to the numpad somewhere for the convenience of not having to keep it on your powertray anywhere. -
Quote:Inherent Power of a Tanker = [Gauntlet]Hmm. I'm thinking the inherent taunting of Tanker/Brute attacks only triggers when they actually hit? [ie, +acc probably being more important than +dam if you're the type who teams a lot?]
"Each time a Tanker attacks, he enrages the target, and those around him, enticing them to attack the Tanker. Each punch continues to provoke your enemies and allows the Tanker to do what he does best."
Every attack (from Secondary powerset, not from temp or pool powers) will inherently taunt the targeted foe, and up to 4 more around it, even if it's a single target power.
There are some powers like [Invincibility] for example that are auras, and also taunt foes within melee range without attacking. -
And for NO particular reason, I just started runnin'.. and when I got to an ocean, I just turned around and ran the other way.. and when I got to the other ocean.. well.. I just turned around and starting running back again!

I'd be in, but this is my weekend ON at work, so I have to pass. I hope it goes well. Good luck!

Quote:Like I said, the MACRO didn't work, but the BIND did. As for members on my team, I honestly had NONE. I simply tested it by standing near the Black Market and it cycled through different people standing there, SB'ing each one as it was designed to do.Did you try this with more than one person on your team? I made almost the exact same bind (the only difference being I used powexec_name instead of powexecname) and it would only work if I only had one target. If I tried to use it with more than one the power would not fire but it still worked for targeting. I also tried reversing the order of the 2 commands and it did just the opposite.

Quote:Yep. Even though WE cannot have a negative Inf value, the Inf value of Market fees and stores are most likely negative internally. I didn't think of that.If they're really using signed math, it's probably signed to allow it to be easily mixed with negative values without having to explicitly cast the values to make sure it does the right thing.
Really, though, for people who are bumping into the cap, raising it to 4B from 2B isn't really that effective. Based on how much high-value items sell for, it needs more like a factor of 10 or 100 increase to be something almost no one will bump into again.
And I completely agree, 4B would surely be reached by anybody that cares about it. We're not saying 10B or 100B wouldn't eventually be reached either, but at least it's not a matter of 1 or two rare sales... and if the cap was raised, so would the prices, so you'd run into the same issue soon enough anyway. lol -
Quote:BAH! I'm so used to doing regular TF's that I forgot those options even existed! lolA few members on my team wanted more of a challenge, so we set it at +2 to my level. It was a lot of fun. =)
Running with the buffed enemy challenge AND +2 foes would have certainly been more of a challenge, especially with all the AVs in that arc. We would have loved that too.
Well.. I hope I remember for the next Ouro! haha -
When you quit from inside somebody else's mission, the mission is no longer "Active" in your toolbar anymore, so SSK would no longer apply. I'm not sure if it would automatically show back up again once you invite the mission holder though. I suppose it's worth a try.

Quote:I didn't think of that before, but you are right.A techie tidbit for the day: 2 billion is the upper limit for a signed 32-bit number. If that is why the limit exists it would require changing the data type in every part of the game where influence is referenced. Might explain why it hasn't changed.
To expand on that:
2,147,483,647 would be 31 bits, the last/first bit to make 32 total would be the positive/negative indicator. This doesn't explain why it caps at exactly 2 billion though, except the Devs probably thought it would be an easier number for people to watch out for?
If they made it an unsigned 32-bit value, it's theoretical limit would be 4,294,967,295 instead. Since Inf can't ever be negative, I don't know why they'd make it signed anyway. -
Quote:Oh please... we're just fooling around. It's no big deal at all. We can easily set the option again next time if you guys want to. (Well, not for Moonfire, but the next time we do an Ouro anyway).I died twice and once was just plain my own stupidity so I'll take the blame. Besides I'm the new guy to Freedom and its always the new guy's fault. Deaths aside I had a lot of fun, Thanks.
You can go ahead and pencil my name in for next monday as well.
It was great having you and we'll see you next week. -
Quote:It's actually not big at all unless you are using a very low resolution. Change the graphic settings to a higher resolution and/or reduce the Window Scaling and the UI will appear to shrink, making that window smaller as well. Also, that window IS movable. They could have dragged it to a corner of the screen and out of the way instead.maybe you should know this:
5 people in my neighborhood are disgusted with the trial version. I've tried getting them interested, but they all complained that there was this huge "buy it now" window that wouldn't allow them to see what was killing them over and over again.
might want to look into that. -
I'm not sure how this reacts with a macro, but the following DOES work on a bind:
/bind KEY "target_friend_next$$powexecname Speed Boost"
Keep in mind you have to give the power a moment to recharge, but if you press it early the power will queue and go off when recharged.
Also, like Rajani mentioned, you can put filters in by changing the target command a little, for example:
/bind KEY "+$$target_custom_next friend alive notmypet teammate$$powexecname Speed Boost"
Edit:
I just tested, and the macro version of the same command string does not work correctly at all. I guess you are better off binding it to a key instead. Personally, on my buffing toons, I use the 1234 keys for various buffs.
