Are you sure you installed it in a different directory and are clicking on the shortcut that has -test at the end of it?

The team can't enter your coalition bases unless they are coalitioned with them too. The computer would have to be in your own base so your teammates to enter it.

Quote:Seems kinda like a pointless power.. "you can't see me!" lolIn case you're thinking about using it to replace regular stealth, that won't work.
According to the in-game description, if you move, you un-stealth.
Unless of course the text is just worded in a silly way, and it's really referring only to the long interrupt time? -
Quote:Unfortunately, I just got around to testing that command, and I can't get it to do anything that the other commands don't already do.
The first number is indeed a tray number, but it seems to only accept the numbers 1,2,3 for the first 3 existing trays. I tried numbers higher than that, but get no results at all, not even an error message.Quote:Odd. There's no limitation I know of like that in game (while I use binds, not macros, mine are similar and use tray 7=nova, 8=human, 9=Dwarf.)
Usage:
goto_trays_tray 1 7 (makes the bottom row flip to #7)
goto_trays_tray 2 7 (makes the middle row flip to #7)
goto_trays_tray 3 7 (makes the top row flip to #7))
goto_trays_tray 4 7 (does nothing, even though I hoped it would flip the first floating tray to #7
You cannot use this command on the floating trays that open when you press the "+" on the interface, which is what I originally thought it would allow us to do. Instead, it would take a little bit of trickery to make it look that way (if you were going to use floating trays for the Kheld bind/macros). Instead of the goto_tray commands, you could simply place the floating trays in the same exact location and then use "hide tray#" and "show tray#" commands together to make those windows open and close instead.
In short, it's easier to just use the original tray via "goto_tray #" in the manner I described at the beginning of this thread (where I also use trays 8 and 9). lol -
Agreed. My old 9600 doesn't have HDMI, so I didn't think of that. I really need to get with the times. haha
Either way.. the standard VGA is not the way to go, even though many TVs feature that port now. I think one of mine even has the DVI right on it. lol -
I've used a 32, a 42, and a 47 at one point or another, each looks fantastic!.. but I advise strongly to use a high reslution, and use a DVI connection, not the VGA connection.
-
I can't say I really have any excuses for that... other than I heated up some lasagna and I've been chatting it up with people in the game still.
So.. here it is!
See you all next week for The Hollows! Maybe I should bring Phanta and try to beat my record time at the Cavern Trial. -
Does your Hero have some kind of other aura on his costume that is actually making the outline? That might not be suppressed by the command because it's not a power. If your Villain does not have a similar aura, then that might be why the results differ. As far as I can tell, the Translucency is the same for both Scrapper and Brute versions of the power.
-
[Cloak of Darkness] and [Shadow Cloak] set your Translucency to 0 for the duration of the power. That makes your avatar completely disappear and you only see the Auras. If you suppress the auras.. you wouldn't see anything. That seems to be by design.

/visscale 4.0
That will change your World Detail to 400%, but it will reset back to the maximum option window value of 200% (2.0) when you zone. If you type any value higher than 4.0, it will instantly default to the maximum value of 4.0 anyway.
For convenience, you can simply bind it to a key and press it when you are outside and want to have a look around. It certainly does make things stand out better at a distance.
Example:
/bind numpad0 "visscale 4"
On a side note, it does NOT let you see enemies any further away and gives no tactical advantage. If anything, a lower value would technically help you see enemies quicker because you will be able to target foes that are hidden behind structures that have not appeared on your screen yet. (They think they are hiding behind that tree, but they don't know that you can't see the tree. lol)
On another side note, it doesn't help you see any further through the "fog" in Dark Astoria at all either. -
Quote:No problem. I was going to assume the other threads you found had most of the commands you wanted, but I also figured there would have been mention of macro buttons on them as well, so I wanted to make sure we were on the same page. (I also tend to go on and on unnecessarily. lol)That was incredibly detailed. Thank you.
Now, using the goto_tray will change your bottom most tray, I take it? While that's what I want, out of curiousity, is there a way to change any of the other trays (middle or top)?
Or is it based on the tray that the macro icon rests?
Anyway, your initial assumption was correct, the "goto_tray #" command only changes the bottom tray, regardless of how or where the command is being run from.
To change the second(middle) tray, the command would be "goto_tray_alt #"
To change the third(top) tray, the command would be "goto_tray_alt2 #"
According to wiki, there seems to also be a command to change any of the other extra trays with another command, "goto_trays_tray pos# tray#", which I admit I have not messed around with much. If I'm interpreting it right, you'd select a tray number to be displayed in a specific tray position.
I'm currently heading to bed, so I can't test what I'm about to suggest, but I'd guess that the bottom tray is position 0, middle is 1, top is 2, and any additional tray would be 3-9, in the order they appear when you press the (+) button on the tray.
For example, if you had a fourth floating tray, and you wanted to make it switch to the 7th power tray, you'd use this command: "goto_trays_tray 3 7"
I hope that makes sense, and I hope that's right. I'll check back tomorrow. lol -
If you have the PvP badge for obtaining 400 rep, you are also awarded the Longbow Warden2 Gladiator, which heals for credit during an arena Gladiator match. If you search this badge forum, I'm sure you'll find a lot of documentation about how to set one of these up. I've even made a few recent posts about it as well... and for the non-PvP'ers, there are ways to easily farm the 400 rep as well.
Quote:Oh, I know you don't have to SK another SG member... I just haven't gotten around to using my level 50 as a team leader for much lately. (Although if I'd remembered to ask for the star during that Rikti Mothership Raid....)
I only quoted you in my last post because you mentioned it being harder on a solo(1-account)sg, when solo doesn't really have anything to do with it... other than the obvious fact that you have to do it all yourself instead of having multiple people work toward credit at the same time.
It appeared like some people were under the impression that only sidekicked SG members count towards this badge, when that is not the case. I think I just read Ms. Mesmer's post wrong, which made me interpret your reply to it wrong too, so I wanted to clarify it. Sorry for the misunderstanding. -
Quote:I'm not exactly sure on what Mr-E's Villain schedule on Wednesdays will look like, but we do random stuff toward the end of the week as well, so that might pop up, sure. You could also contact members of the Freedom Horde to see when they plan on doing the BSF next; they run a few TFs/SFs a week.
In the meantime, you can usually advertise right in Grandville (or even Cap) and build a team. I can't promise you that every random PuG will complete it, but it's worth a shot until we can get an organized team started for you... speaking of which, if you want to pick a day and time that you want to do this, you can start making a sign-up list. As long as I'm available, I'll do what I can to help. -
Yeah, that's certainly true. They are usually the same people in here crying "d00000m" because they think the game isn't active anymore. lol

Quote:I'm glad the little utility I found actually gave some useful information. To be honest, I found it just today when searching the web for OpenGL errors because of your thread. I installed it myself and tested it, and it seemed legit, so I figured it was worth a shot.ok ive found the problem. Still unsure how to fix it though. the OpenGL test reported my version is only 1.1 and for some reason its not updating with my video drivers.
The two errors i got both refer to components that are listed under 1.3
Does anyone know of any method of updating OpenGL without the videocard drivers? I tried using the Extensions Viewer to do it and it had an unhandled exception.
That said, when I click on "Find OpenGL Drivers" in the program, it does the same thing as "Check for Updated drivers" and just brings me to the NVidia Website to get current Video drivers for my card.
My OpenGL shows version 3.1
My DirectX shows version 9.0c (I'm on WinXP Pro as well).
I recommend following the driver install procedure we mentioned above. To summarize:
- Download the current NVidia driver from the nvidia website. (don't install it yet)
- Download and install Driver Sweeper (don't run it yet)
- Uninstall any Nvidia programs and driver references from your control panel.
- restart your computer into Safe Mode
- Run Driver Sweeper to rid the system of any other extra refernces to the old driver version.
- restart the system again
- install your new NVidia driver and restart again
I'm hoping you'll be all set after that, or at least much closer than you are now.. like I said before, it sounds like you have some other issues still brewing in there somewhere.
FIRST!
I'd try looking for an install file from your motherboard manufacturer's website. If it didn't come with a driver disc of any kind, you might be missing drivers for other key components on your motherboard, and for all we know, THAT'S what's causing all the other devices to fail right now.. so even reinstalling the video "correctly" might not even work until you get the motherboard itself installed properly first. -
Quote:The new 1M healing requirement is cake to get these days, especially if you use the Arena farming method.. it only takes a few hours... less time than it takes to get the Supercomputer.Which means it's a pain in the rear if you're doing a 1-account SG. (Although not as big a pain as trying to get the Auto-Doc plans.)
On a side note, you don't have to SK an SG member.. you just have to SK anybody while you are in SG mode. To do this with today's SSK system, you simply have to be a mission holder. The easiest way to earn credit towards this badge is host a few TFs or some rounds of Radio missions while in SG mode. You don't even need to have more than 1 member in the SG.
If you want to make the progress go even quicker, you can have more than one person in the SG host their own team in SG mode, and you will both be earning progress toward the badge at the same time, doubling the speed. Again, nobody else on the team needs to be in the same SG. -
Quote:Considering the amount of problems you are having just getting the basic hardware of your motherboard installed, I wonder what actually happened to the system to begin with, or if it was handled/re-installed properly.I havent checked anything with OpenGL yet so i'll do that in a moment but I thought id go ahead and answer your side notes.
Yea it is on purpous I have no sound drivers. My new motherboard has a Cmedia sound card built in and every time i install the drivers for it I get BSoD and no matter what I have tried theres no way i can find around it. I spent 3 days working on that particular problem before giving up.
and side note 2, I spent another 3 days on the phone with Microsoft because my Directx Drivers report about a dozen or so being out of date whenever i run DxDiag. The Microsoft tech actually linked me to a third party site which had the DirectX 10 hack. It installed beautifully though for some reason those dozen files still report as out of date on my DxDiag
Getting BSOD on a fresh copy of Windows while installing an onboard device (most likely with the disc that came with the motherboard) should have been your first clue that something else is still wrong with the system, and it should probably be (re)fixed before trying to strain your system even more by playing games on it. -
Quote:Pretty much the same way. Now, I've found binds in some of the guides that do the above at the click of a key, but I was wondering if there was a way to do it while clicking on a power tray icon.
Thanks in advance.
Just use the same commands you saw, but replace "/bind KEY" with "/macro NAME".
That will create a button for you to press on the tray instead.
Examples (For a WS):
On Tray 1:
/macro Dwf "powexec_toggle_on Black Dwarf$$goto_tray 8"
/macro Nov "powexec_toggle_on Dark Nova$$goto_tray 9"
On Tray 8:
/macro Hum "powexec_toggle_off Black Dwarf$$goto_tray 1"
/macro Nov "powexec_toggle_on Dark Nova$$goto_tray 9"
On Tray 9:
/macro Hum "powexec_toggle_off Dark Nova$$goto_tray 1"
/macro Dwf "powexec_toggle_on Black Dwarf$$goto_tray 8"
Dwf indicates changing into your Dwarf form, and displaying your Dwarf powers on tray 8.
Nov indicates changing into your Nova form, and displaying your Nova powers on tray 9.
Hum indicates changing back into your Human form, and displaying your Human powers on tray 1.
Optional changes would be to automatically turn on a toggle when switching back into Human form. To do this, use the following command in place of the "Hum" shown above:
/macro Hum "powexec_toggle_off Dark Nova$$powexec_toggle_on Gravity Shield$$goto_tray 1"
That one will put you back into Human form, and also automatically turn on your shield. You can replace it with whatever power you want, like Shadow Cloak or Orbiting Death. It's just personal preference at that point. You can't string them all together with a macro button like that, at least not without it being VERY messy. You're better off sticking to just 1. lol
If you get detoggled out of a form for whatever reason, you can still press the "Hum" macro button to go back to your Human tray without affecting your current status.
Anyway, you get the idea. I'm sure any other command preferences can be found in the other threads you were looking at, and easily substituted in however you want. I hope it helps!
Good luck, and GRATZ on your 50! -
Since those error messages relate to OpenGL, you might be able to test your card with this application here: GLview 3.0 You can perform rendering tests and such to ensure the card is performing correctly. If you come across the same type of errors, or problems viewing the diagnostic tests, then your CoH setup is surely not to blame. It also checks for updated versions of OpenGL, DirectX, and Video Drivers for you as well.
As shown by Zombie's links, other people have fixed this problem by doing all relevant Windows Updates and fixing drivers by uninstalling current version, running DriverSweeper, then reinstalling. If that's still not working for you, I am unsure what else to suggest.
On a side note, I noticed there is NO sound controller installed at all. Was this on purpose?
Edit:
On another side note, I also notice you have DirectX 10 installed on WinXP. As far as I was aware, that's not even supported without using a third party hack.. unless I missed an official release somewhere. -
Quote:Personally, I like the delay, cause you can use it to create mini conversations between pets when used the right way. lolThat's the one I remember, Master-Blade.
But we don't want a kludgey workaround with delay!
As for the bubbles themselves.. I am not really a big fan to begin with. I don't even like the player ones most of the time, and the only time I ever actually look at chat bubbles in general is when an NPC talks in a mission and I can look around to see which direction they are in.. and even then I'm still not reading it. haha
Well that's the thing. I'm not really sure. The fact is, the petsay and <> commands DO still work (but not always in binds), and petsay itself doesn't even require those symbols unless you are doing emotes or trickery like mine.. and even when a Pet does speak in the Pet channel, the chat bubbles are still gone.. so I don't think it really has anything to do with the <> commands themselves. It might have been some kind of other stealth nerf due to player complaints? Can't be sure. I've looked before and never really saw any OFFICIAL word on it either. Sorry.
