Quote:Pentad Victor:"The only other match with a stipulation is the Pentad/Septad, which you can still do 1vs1, but the opponent must be the same AT that you are using. "
FYI-
Just did this with my badger using second account to set up a pentad then a septad. It worked for the pentad but not the septad. I ran the septad twice and did not get the badge.
Win a Pentad or Septad match.
If you did a Pentad and got the badge, it follows that Septad would then give you nothing. There is only one badge for that.
On a side note, I think I do need Swiss Draw on one of mine on Freedom, so I'm in for a small group sometime, sure. -
Easiest thing to do is get a friend and one of you selects "Create Event" at the bottom, and then presses "List Event". The other person simply refreshes the Arena list and selects that player's name and joins it. After setting the options, the person who created the match clicks on "Start Event", and the match will begin.
You'll want to run it multiple times, usually selecting the "Battle Royal" match type, and then each of the 10 lvl classes. Then you lose on purpose to each other to get the badges.
As mentioned, for the Swiss Draw you'll need more people. The only other match with a stipulation is the Pentad/Septad, which you can still do 1vs1, but the opponent must be the same AT that you are using.
Good luck! -

The Horror of War (45-50): Investigate Nemesis Base
Quote:Like I said above, I actually did have a waypoint, so I'm not sure if it's just the way the mission is done that causes it, or if it's just random, but hopefully it works for you when you try again tomorrow. If not, try using the coordinates instead.NOTE: The location of the cave entrance is difficult to find. At some point, the waypoint leading to the entrance was removed.
1: Go behind the base area, about as far directly opposite from the entrance as you can go while remaining on the main floating island area.
2: Using the coordinates system, its location is (-3908.8, 1326.5, 833.5)
Good Luck! -
Wiki lists a bug that the waypoint no longer works correctly (or I thought it did).
Personally, I ran the arc through Ouro not very long ago and I DID have a waypoint after killing Maniticore. There was a cave door at the very north end, and Positron was inside with a Safe (glowie) and a Fake nemesis (featured in my March calendar below). -
Quote:Indeed. I've made edits before, but I have forgotten my password there and too lazy to worry to about it. hahaIf you feel things need to be added, the wiki is editable by everyone.
I just found it odd that a couple obvious secrets that are on the site weren't linked on that page. That's all. It's NBD.
Edit:
Ok, I got off my lazy bum and reset my titan Key and added Spaulding to the list. -
Quote:Hmm why aren't Charlie Newland's Island and the Matrix Room linked to from the Easter Egg page?
PS - Would the Egg Hunter exploration page count as an Easter Egg? lol
Also, the Contact featured in my February calendar below might qualify a well. -
Not for nothing, but most of the badges are already from "solo efforts". From all the exploration and history badges, to the market and invention badges... if badges is your game, solo is your game. And while defeat badges, mission badges, and Ouro stuff can all be done as a team, it's often done solo as well.
In what way would you measure a badge for somebody being solo? Wouldn't existing characters already be exempt?
PS - If you are solo, who are you going to show your badge to? -

Nice job everybody! All we need now is AntiMatter. Thanks for hosting this Ginko.
I just hope I can get up in the morning. I should have been in bed a while ago. lol -

Quote:I agree. It sounds to me like they are saying..They are looking to seriously cash in on the inflated prices for pre-ordering. It's kind of disgusting.
Pick one:
30 days of game time
-or-
Early access to powers as they become available.
Question is.. which one is worth more to you? lol -
Quote:Actually, today's announcement states that, from NCSoft, you can only pre-order the basic, online-only, expansion. This gives the early access, but no "goodie pack" or play time. 30US$.
The 40US$ has the 30 days play time, the pack, and is a full copy of the game as well, but is not available for pre-order from NCSoft, therefore no early access to Dual Pistols or Demon Summoning.
Also, the pack is two costume sets, related auras, that presence power, and four "stance" emotes - nothing said they were particularly praetorian themed.Quote:In other words, I'd have to buy BOTH to get early access to powers AND the goodies.
Meh.
No, you wont have to by both for a total price of $70. You can buy the pre-order, then buy the upgrade when it becomes available... but you wont get any free game time (which you wouldn't get even if you waited and bought the standard retail anyway).
The standard retail does not come with any game time regardless if you buy it early or wait. Only the Complete edition retail comes with the extra game time, and wont be available through the item pack upgrade.

Quote:Starting at launch in July, players who prepurchased or bought just the separate City of Heroes Going Rogue expansion will be able to upgrade to the Complete Collection. The upgrade will include the Complete Collection Item Pack, but it won’t include any game time. -
Quote:It's very possible to run it several times and not lag at all. There are several factors that can cause the server-side lag to happen, but it doesn't mean it happens EVERY time.I know there is an issue with the ITF. What I am saying is that through upgrading my computer, Several times now. When I run the ITF I don't have LAG in that valley hill area anymore.
I have 18 Megs of ATT Uverse as well.
I ran ITF last night on Virtue. I know what I am talking about.
We were fighting under that bridge, when you go up through the middle. It was the FIRST TIME EVER... That I didnt lag out.
The specific lag we are talking about is server-side, and CAN NOT be fixed by your own personal system specs. That would be like saying if you had a faster processor, that you could read this message before I hit "submit reply". You can't. It's impossible.
I have to send the message before you can read it, just like the server has to finish processing the player AoEs, Cimeroran AoE buffs, multiple patrol and ambush pathing errors... before you can see it. The kind of lag we are talking about is when it happens to EVERYBODY at the SAME TIME, not randomly to each player who happens to get a lower framerate when something big happens.
Your own personal video lag might certainly be reduced, but you did not solve Server lag... unless you reprogrammed or upgraded the server. lol
I "never" lag on the ITF anymore either, but I'm wise enough to know it's largely because of how we run the mission. I'll admit some things are beyond my control and once in a while it's still going to happen. That's just common sense.
As for the OP.. why do we accept it? I dunno. I guess I don't see it as a large problem. I have fun during my countless hours of play, and a few moments of lag are not enough to turn it into a bad experience. I do still think the ITF should be fixed though. It's obviously broken, and has been since it was released. -
Quote:I thought this was the case also. Either way, I'd also guess the item pack would be sold separately as well, so it's not like we'd lose out on anything.I'll try to find the post, but I remember reading that you can pre-order the complete pack, and get both the goodie pack, and access to DS/DP early.
On a side note, the item pack doesn't look too exciting anyway... unless the temp power gets modified before release. We'll see. -
Quote:I'm glad you were able to set something up and have a good time. As for the server stability.. I also have not seen this type of thing in a long time, but the last couple of nights have been a little odd for me as well. I guess a few zones have crashed at various times and toons have been getting stuck "still logging out".Was able to get a team in about 5 min from global and broadcast, having to turn away quite a few as well. The TF just took longer than it should have because it was a fairly odd mix, but we managed through it and everyone stayed in good spirits. Was a pretty decent PuG experience.
Not sure if it was isolated to just last night or not, but I think everyone crashed or at least DC'd at least once. Hadn't seen that in awhile.
Like always, I'm sure it'll clear up again. -

Quote:Yes, the game does support various aspect ratios, but it does so by trimming, not by adding. If you are at the same camera distance as you were before, you should certainly NOT see any improvement at all, as illustrated by my images above. Either your camera was zoomed out more, or you are factoring in the size of UI, which may or my not contribute to your perceived FoV when you pushed them to the side.Getting back to the original question: With 1920x1200 resolution I can see four doors at once in the Terra Volta reactor. With 1600x1200 I could only see three. (What? What do YOU do when you're bored in the reactor? ) Am I deluding myself? Does the game support certain hardcoded aspect ratios but not a general solution? Basically, I'm asking why I saw an improvement in FOV when you did not.
I agree that when I first went to widescreen, I also felt like I could see more, but I also moved/shrunk my UI and I regularly vary my camera distance to see things. It's not a huge deal when changing the aspect ratio so little, but it becomes a big problem when you stretch an image across 3 screens. With a limited camera distance, and limited camera movement inside missions, you really short-change yourself and only see 33% instead of the expected 300%.
On a side note, I spend my time in the reactor watching the clock and reporting to the team when the next spawn is coming. lol -
Quote:There is supposed to be no way to toggle off that display, other than to be in Base edit mode, or to disable the entire UI. There is no default bind for it, and creating your own doesn't do anything either.I'm not sure what is assigned to toggle the status bar (if indeed there is one in the default setup) but you probably hit that key inadvertently.
The OP is just victim of a bug that seems to happen to people from time to time.
Possible solutions:
/wdwload (if you did a wdwsave before)
/window_reset_all
/show health (show is the same as window_show)
/show menu
/show status
/show combatmonitor
/show combatnumbers -
Quote:Sister Psyche is a Heroside TF, lvl 20-25+, and is usually done anywhere between 1½-3 hours. One thing i would suggest is to post if its redside or blueside an amount of time it normal takes
It also helps to mention number of merrits or badges as well.
Completing this TF awards the "Sister Psyche's Comrade Badge", which is required towards the "Task Force Commander Accolade" that grants a 5% hp bonus.
The wiki lists this TF as awarding 50 merits.
OP: I would join, but I am also not available at that day and time. Sorry -
Quote:The problem is the game does not add width to the picture to make it widescreen ratio, it subtracts height. This means that if you can imagine your screen being 3 windows wide.. the same image we see is really just stretched across all 3, making the center one look zoomed. Because of that.. it loses MUCH more view on the top/bottom.Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the problem too, but did you try using the Scroll Wheel or Home/End keys to adjust the camera position?
Example of a 1-screen view:
Rough edited example of the same picture as it would theoretically be viewed on 3 screens:
And that's with the camera zoomed all the way out (with the mouse).
Here's what it would look like under standard/default camera view..
Rough edited example of the same picture as it would theoretically be viewed on 3 screens:
It's missing so much of the picture. I can see how that would be annoying.
AFAIK, there isn't any way to get around it. Zooming out the camera with the mouse only goes as far as 80ft. You can also adjust further with a slash command or bind, but only up to 120ft (800ft in base edit mode).
/camdist 120
That might help a little, but if it were me, I'd probably just play windowed mode on the 1 screen... especially once you get inside missions where you are limited to what you can do with your camera distance.
