  2. I'm in, and aware of what to do as well.

I get out of work at 9pm, so I may be a little late, so maybe if we get more than 8 signed up, I can just take the place of whoever we appoint to get the badge first?
  3. Make sure you are selecting the same server you did the last time. The most recent server you used is listed at the top.

Also, there is more than 1 page of characters, make sure you check the first page again.

I just hope they add an expand/contract button to each name if that's the case, because having a team of 8 each with 7 missions would be quite an annoying list to scroll through.

It would be much easier for player 6 to say "I've got bank mission", and then the leader opens his tab and selects it... theoretically. lol
  5. I still have never seen this as an issue.

    If it makes a difference, I have a 9600gt. I use 1680x1080 rez, and a windowscale of 110%.

I am aware that many of the sliders may move if you repeatedly open the options window and APPLY. I believe this is might be partially due to the slider trying to find the closest pixel or "notch" to the current value, which then changes the value of the slider... and repeats each time.

Anyway, I've never seen it do it on it's own. Why you would open it so many times in a row to become a problem is beyond me. I almost never have a reason to open it, and my settings never change. You should also be able to just /wdwload or /optionload to reset the values back the way you had it before anyway.

I know there is no badge for being EX'd, but I was pretty sure the person you are EX'd to still gets credit for being your mentor. Is that not the case? They are so easy to get that I never really paid attention to the specifics anyway. lol

    Edit:
I just tried using a lvl 6 to EX a lvl 35 character, and it appeared I did not get any credit for the badge. I then tried using the lvl 6 to SK a new lvl 1 character. Still no credit. I don't even have a progress bar. I'm not sure when that badge starts to "tick" and show some progress, but I don't feel like standing around for hours right now just to test it out. lol

Either way, I probably still wouldn't call them sidekick/ex or lackey/mal badges.. I simply call them the "Mentoring Badges" to cover it all at once.

When they first came out, we simply defeated the person once, and then had that person quit the match, making you automatically win. No need to stand around for 5-10 minutes. This makes the Swiss Draw go by really quickly as well.

One thing to note though is that you don't always get the badge immediately when the round ends. Even after it says you are the winner, stay in the match a few seconds longer until the "Badge Earned" banner appears, or you might not even get credit. I /bugged it before. I'm not sure if it's fixed or not, but it's worth the extra few seconds just to make sure you get the credit anyway. lol

That sounds like an incredibly easy way to do it. I don't think it let us do that back when I did it, but I know some of the options have changed over time so I'll keep it in mind for next time.

    You are right:
-The matches do not have to be rated to earn the badges (except Lanista*).
-You don't get Reputation in the Arena, but it is still possible for a rare PvP recipe drop.

*Lanista is a Gladiator badge (not PvP badge) for winning your first rated gladiator match.
Grand Lanista is a Gladiator badge (not PvP badge) for winning 10 gladiator matches.

I guess we'll find out. I have a couple accounts I can try when the time comes...

Main account: Playable until Apr 9, 2011
    Second: Inactive for 90+ Days
Third: Playable until Mar 15, 2010
Fourth: Not playable (less than 90 days)
    Fifth: Inactive for 90+ Days

I'm surprised it doesn't show the specific date it was last playable.. but I can try to figure that out if it turns out one of them is able to log in and the other isn't.

I'll report my findings when the event starts... but by then, anybody will be able to check for themselves if their account works too. lol Well, at least I'd know what to expect naxt time anyway.

I never saw any such stipulation for reactivation weekend. Last year I was able to use my 2nd and 3rd accounts when at least one of them was only inactive for about a month. As far as I can tell, the 90-day rule only applies to being able to use an "invite-a-friend-back" code.
  10. You lose veteran time for the few days you are not actually subbed. I'm not sure how important that is to you.

Also, it depends when your pay period ends. Per the announcement, if your sub ends DURING the period, you WONT have the remaining time for free. Only accounts that are already inactive when the event begins are eligible, so you'd have to resub to keep playing anyway.

The free activation is only a few days, not a 2-week thing like other events. There is really no monetary benefit to letting your account expire unless it happens to expire the day before the event begins... and even then it isn't much.

Well if the trend from previous events continue, something silly will happen and they will extend the event another couple days/weeks, and that will give them time to keep their word about being able to use DP during Dxp. lol

    Also.. to the OP..
I hope you didn't re-subscribe for the sole purpose of taking advantage of Dxp.. cause.. umm.. It's FREE re-activation too! lol

Either way, good to have you back again Marvel. See you in there.

    Here's a suggestion though....

Why not have missions that must be completed solo? There are missions that must be completed by a team, why not put the shoe on the other foot?

Just last night I was on with one of my characters that I play almost exclusively when I want to play solo and my contact gave me a mission that I could not complete solo. "Stop the family from fire bombing an office" that was timed and required clicking 3 bombs simultaneously. No way to complete this one solo so I either need to scare up 2 other people just to do some clicking or skip the mission. Skipping the mission means that I can't complete the contact since she won't give me another one till I take this one and either complete or fail it.

So, Why not a few difficult missions that must be done solo that give you a badge for completing them? Ramp up the difficulty, make them really nasty, whatever, but make them a test of you're ability to complete a difficult task without help.

I know the whole game is geared toward "Team" play. But the fact is, like has already been mentioned, that in comics, most "Heroes" go it alone, or in small groups.

There could even be missions that require exactly 2 (A hero and her site-kick) or even exactly 3, (alah Batman, Robin and Batgirl). But the mission must be completed by that exact number to gain the reward. Less and it can't be finished, more, no reward.
To expand on this idea, it would work if you make it a TF contact, and the TF cannot start if there is more than 1 (or 2) people on the team.

To make it interesting, the TF mission window will consist of 3 missions at once. You can do them in any order you want, but doing them in a specific order would make it easier because you get a Temp power of some kind during each mission. The temp power can depend what AT you are, or even if it gives you a choice of which one you want to take. The powers can be super versions of existing temp powers and/or be specialized damage for a specific foe, and they'd disappear when the TF disbands/ends. That would give any AT a fair chance to complete it. All you'd have to do is read the mission dialog and figure out which order to do the missions to make it easier for yourself.

And if it's that specific and that replicatable, /bug it. Sure it might not get seen to 'right this second', but it's like the graphical 'bugs' I found in Snake caves, where it looked like there were meant to be smoothing effects on a lot of rocks and there clearly werent (they were nearly square). I brought it up here, and Arbiter Kim PM'd asking me for more screenshots and details.

The Devs are just as keen as us to see every bug in game hunted down and terminated with extreme prejudice. Its just the fact they have other stuff to do, and deadlines and other things.
The smoothing effects on some objects were broken a while ago. During this time, the hill in Talos (and other areas) looked horrible. Once BaBs said the fix was on Test, I compared Live and Test at the same time and saw that it was indeed fixed.. However, as many people found out... along with the "Talos fix", the tunnels (and other areas) have now broken. I put up detailed comparison pictures in the same thread BaBs originally responded in, and PM'd them to a few Devs.. and got no real response other than "we'll look into it again". Then the thread died. I think this was before Kim's time though. Maybe it's time for a redoux!

Edit: Here are the pictures I took at the time..

    Talos before the fix

    Talos after the fix

    Tunnels before the "fix"

Tunnels after the "fix" (now broken)

    Edit2:
After looking through the screenshots folder for the original pictures, I found the timestamp to be August 27, 2009. Keep in mind this was while the fix was still on test. It didn't go live until shortly after that.

I'm going to message Kim as well.

    Edit3:
    Here is the original thread..
    Has anyone else noticed?

As much as I agree with that, I also agree with the others that it wouldn't be fair to those builds that would never stand a chance.

Apparently, the Devs agree because we recently had that update that dropped the requirement on most of the badges so that they were more "obtainable by anybody/everybody". I doubt they'd turn around and add more badges that would be "impossible for most people".

To be honest, I don't remember. You have to run it at least 10 times anyway to get each of the 10 lvl-range badges, and you can earn more than one badge at a time, so simply set Battle Royal first, and if it doesn't give you Duelist as well, just set Duel for the next. There are mechanically the same in 1v1 as far as I can tell.
  19. Yep, that location has been that was as long as I can remember.

For what it's worth, it's not the only location in the game that's like that. Sometimes you can see the same thing in Talos along the road that heads West towards Skyway entrance. You can almost always find a similar situation in Independence Port on the long stretch or road on the Eastern side between Kings Row and Brickstown as well.

On a side note, using your targeting key will still find foes in the group very easily.. even if they are beyond your draw limitations.

...or unless there is a bug. He said the forum lets him log in with the "different/slightly modified password" as well, so I doubt the game files would have anything to do with that. It also let him log in at a relative's house using the same "method".

On a side note, I still have yet to replicate this myself.

    A bug in game

Also sounds like they could mean the Leveling Pact section of their Friend List is not showing any name listed.

I have seen this reported many times recently, while the toons are either online or offline.

Fact is, as long as there is a Leveling Pact category on that menu, the Pact should still be active anyway. This can be verified by keeping track of the XP on each toon.

The problem in the OP's case might be they don't remember which toons they have pact'd together, and need the list to make sure. I'm not sure how to help on that one other than hope the problem is fixed soon.

If I'm wrong about the problem, then I still hope you get it sorted out soon. Good Luck!

There is only one badge. It's not like you are choosing one or the other. No matter which one you do, you are awarded the "Pentad Victor" badge. (There is no Septad Victor badge)
