    That could be true. It might also be possible that when i12 was released (when the custom option files were added), the OP might have done a /bindsave from a character that still had it, which means all characters created from that computer since then will still have it too.

    That's what I get for (not) paying attention. lol

    So I don't happen to have toons in either of those places, but it doesn't take much to sprout a couple and help out, so if you want to try to get a group together on your server(s), I'm in... just as long as I'm not at work.

    I have access to a couple accounts, so I might be able to provide a few fillers for you... especially if anybody wants to do this during the free activation weekend. That'll add 3 more accounts to my availability list. lol

    Easiest thing to do is log onto a character that has it set up the way you want them, and do /chatsave. Then log onto the affected character and do /chatload.

    Yep, looks like we had just the right number of people show up, and we had a couple filling toons to stand in as people came and went. It went very smoothly right up to the end until somebody forgot to wait for the badge to ding before exiting the match.. so we had to redo that round. lol Thanks for setting this up, CaptA!

    Don't you have to load the bind file first? It's not automatic (except on newly created characters).

    Random SG kicks?

    Only reasons you should ever be ejected from an SG is:
    - if you transferred to another server (even if you transfer back, you wont belong to the SG unless you are reinvited).
    - somebody kicked them. This would be done for any number of personal reasons by anybody who has the permissions to do so. Check your SG options to see which ranks have permission.
    - they quit, either intentionally or accidentally.

    In short, no. I don't know of any other automated process that would "randomly" kick people from their SG. Players logged off for X amount of days and even those having an inactive account will still remain in an SG. Even if you rename your character, your friend list and SG status remains intact.

    Window position/scaling/opacity is saved separately on each character. Is it possible those characters used different preferences (even by 1%) than the rest?

    If you /wdwsave and /optionsave from a working character, then /wdwload and /optionload on the affected characters, would that have possibly fixed it?

    Did you change any of your in-game options after your upgrade that may have been responsible for resetting those options and fixing it?

    It's possible that the multitude of people running the update at the same time this morning might be causing the "Connecting #" problem. For all we know, it'll work fine tomorrow.     For now, you should still be able to bypass the updater and log in using the method explained above.

    Besides it not being supported, you have to make sure you are linking to cityofheroes.exe, not cohupdater.exe, and if you have the EU version, it'd be -project eucoh

    -renderthread 0 would supposedly disable the multi-thread instruction and only use 1 core of your processor, instead of two. I'm not sure why you would want to do that. Your error message might be referring to that part of your instruction set.

    For those of you above using -renderthread 1... it's been enabled by default for a long time now. There is no reason to use the command line anymore.

    More importantly.. for anybody using the -project coh extension to skip the updater and get into the game, keep in mind you might run into trouble the next time there is a game update. You'll still have to run the Updater to update your game, so you might have to eventually fix your Updater problem anyway. It's good to be able to get in now, but it might be in your best interest to still fix it in your spare time, or else i17 is going to be released and you might not be joining in.

    There is a sticky on the top of this forum by TheOcho that explains how to possibly fix it.

    While this is true, I think the point Alt was making was that if the OP was logging into a new trial account each time, the characters he/she made on the last account will not be shown.

    Alt didn't say the toons would be deleted, but that you'd "lose them unless you buy".

    But the point is we wont be able pre-order the Complete Edition on the site, so getting the NCSoft pre-order wont give the other costume and power items, and you wont get the 30-day of time added either.

    Yes, we can purchase the extra items separately once it's finally released, but it still wont give 30-days of time, which makes it cheaper to just wait for the actual release.

    The only reason to pre-buy is if you want to have the new powersets ASAP.

    It sounds to me like the OP doesn't want to buy it from the NCSoft website, so unless they want the powersets "NOW", I'd recommend just going to their favorite retailer and pre-reserve the Complete Edition in a box (if/when available).

    I'm not sure that was a result of a purge, but actually a result of the merge.

    More than likely, there was a "Lucky" on both forums, so those people ended up being branded as "Lucky_NA" and "Lucky_EU" when the boards merged. You simply stole "Lucky" from under their noses before they could get it back. lol

    Edit:
    Confirmed! A quick search shows that there are members with the names Lucky_NA and Lucky_EU. I guess they never bothered changing it at all, if they even still play.

    The serverlist is populated by the client, not by the Updater. I'm not sure how they would NEED to update the updater just to include more servers, unless they are changing the sources of the updates.
