I am not really one for voice chat that much, but the ones I know are used the most by some of the people here are: TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, Skype, and GTalk. Usually it's an SG that hosts a server for one of those programs, but the usage is not always restricted to members only.

Quote:To clarify this part.. everybody downloads and plays the same version. It's our account status that allows us to have access to different areas or features.I wasnt sure if everything but the newest expansions were included in the download I did.
That means that once you upgrade, there is no need to install or change anything about your current program. Simply open it and log in the same way you have been.
Even if you buy a physical box (instead of buying it digitally from the NCSoft site), all you'll have to do is UPGRADE your trial account and apply the serial code that came with it. If you try installing the disc, you'll just be giving yourself an older version and will have to repatch back to current version anyway. -
Indeed. You can enter most doors that are within about 50ft(?) or so from an active location. You can even enter PocketD from the building next to truck in Kings Row, instead of taking the truck itself. The Bank mission truck in PI can also be accessed by clicking on either of the buildings next to it.
You can usually enter missions from around the corner or opposite sides of buildings (depending on their size), and there are a few locations in North Brickstown where it's easier to just click the building up top than to go into the area underneath. Some sewer locations can also be accessed by clicking on the building above it.
The interesting part is that when you use an alternate door to enter a mission, you will come out that same alternate door too. lol
But to go back on the main topic.. I don't think any of the doors in RV are close enough to the portal to allow you to enter... but I could be wrong. I tried clicking a few earlier and couldn't get into any of them.
Edit:
It seems the door in question is only about 42ft above the portal, but when I click on it.. it does nothing. -

Quote:Cimerora is a strange one. The missions of the ITF take place in Cimerora, and exist in the real version, but they are areas outside of the War Walls that you can't get to (or not supposed to be able to anyway).Remember, not every outdoor map has to be in an existing zone.
That said, the BM map is not really the same as the Live Boomtown either. The NE corner of Boomtown looks similar, but there are a few buildings re-arranged... and the train track is even more destroyed than it is inside the mission.
Dreck's map has many inconsistencies with the real Boomtown as well (besides the water). It's easy to find the area of Boomtown where the mission starts, but if you go to the place where the mission goes into the water and look to the north, you can see there would be no possible place for the north side of that mission to meet up with the water. Everything within a reasonable distance is even lower and would just be underwater.
Also, the Siren's Call map on the Jade Spider TF is slightly different too (barely). There is a tree near the Villain base that says "You just killed a butterfly" if you click on it. That doesn't exist in the Live version of Siren's Call. lol -

Quote:Type [Backdraft] in the game to see the info. The damage from the burning buildings is a large multiple of your maximum health, and it hits multiple times. So the more health you have, the more damage it does, hence the insane damage number on the Kronos Titan.
It has a 150ft radius, and hits you with the damage 0.25s after it hits you with a 10+ mag KB.
It's 3 simultaneous ticks (unresistable) of roughly 4 times your base hp, with an additional 16 ticks of superficial damage that I assume start before the major 3 fire off. -
That stinks. It did look fun and interesting. I would have signed up also if it wasn't for the fact that I had plans that night also. I hope you schedule this again some other time.

Quote:I understand they can re-program it to work any way they want. It was more of a joke than anything, hence the "Not if they don't put "Disallow_ALL" under the "Modes Disallowed" heading.
".
Either way, it still wouldn't change the fact that turning on the Walk to move around would disable all the other toggles, and you'd be a sitting duck if a mob did actually notice you.
I like the concept of being able to "Tiptoe" past mobs, but I still don't see it as being useful on the large scale. -
lvl 37... see if you can get a bunch of ITF teams going. If you kill through instead of trying to speed, that is good for XP.

It sounds to me like you have one of a certain line of ATI cards. Look on that forum near the top for the ATI Issues thread for more info.

Quote:Most of the "ITF lag" is Serverside, and caused by many different factors. It's hard to purposely avoid, but it can be done.On the final mission, is that server lag or client lag when the teams spread out?
I can tell you that one way to reduce lag on the last mission is to NOT kill any Generals, because each of their mobs causes multiple ambushes. If you take away the ambush factor, gameplay improves dramatically.
Another thing to do is avoid powerful AoEs in the large groups of Cimerorans.. but.. that defeats the purpose of trying to speed-run. lol -
As always, I end up working during Dxp Weekend, so I will probably be absent for most of this... but if I happen to be around, then I'll be happy to join in on whatever is needed.
Edit:
Looking over the list... I guess "TBA" me for the ones that don't conflict with my work schedule:
Moonfire
ITF (Mo?)
Silver Mantis
Lady Grey
Thank you -
"Attempting to connect" is a different issue than the "failed to rename". I feel bad that you erased your entire directory, because the game files didn't change, and now you'll have to wait to redownload the whole thing again... once it's working.

Buying and applying a retail code will ADD 30 days of game time to the end of your existing trial time (add 30 days to your "playable until" date in your account management screen). Once applied, your account is no longer trial status, and all limitations should be lifted. If they are not, then you should be able to /petition to get them removed.
*To prevent possible issues, make sure you are logged out while applying codes to your account. Status is usually changed instantly, but sometimes I've had it take up to an hour before things became available to me in-game. If things don't seem right, log out and log back in to recheck. -
Quote:That's ok.. I'm not either. Until I just looked at the map, i thought it was only 3 or 4 locations. lolah, i thought it was 6, but then again im not an avid pvper and have only used the back entry into zone only like a few times
good times, good times. -
Quote:And the destination is chosen at random. AFAIK, you can't purposely go to a specific spot.theres 2 doors, 1 outside each base that serve as a back entrance into the zone to prevent camping the entrance of the base. these doors outside the bases go to 1 of 6 doors scattered throughout the zone.
the hero back door is just outside of the base, the back door for villains is inside the base.

The Green arrows are the Hero locations, the Yellow arrows are the Villain destinations. It only lists 5 locations for each side though. -
Quote:Awwe, I'm sure there are SOME things that work out for you though. You are here aren't you!? lolalrighty. oh well. thanks guys. I appreciate it. Though it didnt give me the answer I wanted, life rarely does lol.
Anyway.. In all honestly, I too would love to see a distance indicator of some sort in the target window. I'm sure it's been brought up before, but it could be something for the Suggestion forum... Maybe you'll get lucky and it'll get some attention. -
Quote:The Supergroup Registrar shows both Hero and Villain SGs at the same time. There is no way to actually distinguish which are which unless it's added in the description or if you happen to see somebody from one of them.Go to the Supergroup Registrar on both sides and look yourself.
Also, there is no way to know which groups are active and/or recruiting. That still doesn't tell you if the SG is the "best" for what you are looking for either.
What I can tell you is that according to the current list, the top groups on Freedom (using prestige as a scale) are:
#1 THE OMEGA FORCE 388,985,100
I'm fairly certain this is a Hero group. Somebody's been earning/farming prestige a lot lately because they only just recently passed group#2. Their description states to go to app.sgomegaforce.com to fill out an application for membership, but that page appears to not work, so it seems the description has not been updated in some time. Their website is http://www.sgomegaforce.com/ but doesn't look very active either.
#2 Corrupted Academy 360,352,828
I own this one myself. It's a Villain group, and it hasn't been "active" in quite some time. It pretty much currently consists of just myself and my alts. No, you cannot join. I'm not interested in making it active again. Only people who I "know/trust" would be allowed to join if they are simply looking for a place that has a full base (MedBay/Storage/TPs/Workstations/etc).
#3 Beer DRiNKeRS uNiTeD 328,700,126
I met somebody from this group on Hero-side a while back. He informed me that it was only a couple people left and not active either. I'm not sure if that guy is even still around, or what the status of the group really is, but I haven't seen much activity from that group either.
#4 Dark Kingdom 297,010,971
Website: http://www.dark-kingdom.vg/
Description leads me to believe this is a Villain SG.
Their forums have been inactive for about a year.
#5 Damage Inc 280,443,717
Website: http://damageincsg.guildportal.com/
This is a Hero group. Their site and forum does not seem active at all either, but I know a couple of the people "in charge" and they have been online recently and working hard at earning more prestige. I'm not sure if membership is open or if they are recruiting at all though. The description does say to visit the site or contact @Roanna & @Blazze N Fury for membership though.
In short, that list is pretty much useless these days. If you really look down the list hard enough, or do searches for SG names that you might like to be a part of, you might be able to find an updated description of something you might like. There is also an SG thread right near the top of this forum that might contain some information that interests you, but you are on your own for that. Best way to get into an SG quickly is probably just to advertise your interests here on the forum and see who picks you up, or to broadcast in game. If you wait around the populated areas long enough, you might even catch some broadcasts from people recruiting for their groups. Whether or not the group you end up with is "good" or not.. is just something you'll have to decide for yourself. Everybody's preferences are different. -
As far as I know, there is no slash command to set a waypoint. You can't do it without actually clicking on the map, and you can't even set an enemy as a waypoint that way either anyway.

Quote:nice re-installing with my old hardcaope means I have to spend severals hours updating and then hoping it does work with the link from rent.Quote:i let mine update last night, sos didnt have the painfull task of watching it download, got up this morning and was done,
hope you get it fixed, its very frustrating)
Also, if you are somehow forced into reinstalling now, it's recommended NOT to use any installation discs that you have because they would contain the older version and would have to eventually be converted and redownload the current patch version of the game again anyway. Follow the link to download the new updater directly instead.
