Personally, I use Warburg. It's medium range, so the alts don't have to be super high, but you still have access to your most powerful attacks on the Badge toon. Also, you can attack both Heroes and Villains there, so it increases the number of alts you can cycle through if you need to.

Quote:I don't really know how to organize the PvP badge as a group activity (other than actually PvP'ing). All 3 times I've earned that badge I did it solo, using a second account as bait. I found that to be the best/fastest way for me.Think we can discuss working on the prerequisites as well? That's my barrier for my MM I'd like to work this on.
I was hoping that since it's been a month since our last farm, that some people might have been working on getting into this next one. I can probably help a little while this weekend, but not long enough for you to get the full badge. It also depends on when we'd both be around.
Currently, Robin is at 5M/10M and her SG is at 17M/25M, and I'm hoping this session tops off both those values (providing we get enough people to stay through the whole farm this time).
If you can't get in on this session, I'll most likely be running one again later to help give credit to Luna and E's SGs (if they still need/want it), so that should give you some time to get the prerequisite Gladiator. -
Try it this way instead..
Run the installer and point it to install in it's default location. Once the download begins, stop the Updater and then copy the contents of your piggs folder into the one it just created. When you re-run the Updater, it should see the files there and run normally. -
I will be hosting another Heal Farm on Tuesday, March 16th at around 11pm Eastern Time. I plan on letting it run until 10pm Eastern the next day.
Anybody is welcome! The only requirement is if you plan on earning the Healing badges (either for yourself or your SG), you need to already have the LongbowWarden2 Gladiator earned by obtaining the badge for 400PvP Rep.
I already have a couple people coming. The more people that come, the more progress we will earn per hour.
We'll meet in Pocket D Arena for easy organization of cross-faction players. -

Quote:You would be running the game in windowed mode, and the position of that window would depend on how you had the monitors set up in your Windows Control Panel. Usually, the second screen's upper-left-hand corner starts where the first screen's upper-right-hand corner left off.Currently run with CoH on my main monitor and keep (mainly) a web browser, and/or vent on the secondary.
Would be nice to be able to set the various sub windows to display on either monitor but not really interested in spanning the main view over both (or more) as the physical borders on the two monitors are likely to be a major distraction. Also not sure how this could be handled where the two monitors are of different sizes running different resolutions.
This means if you used the larger monitor as your main screen, the bottom of the window would be cut off on the second screen when dragging the window onto it. -
Quote:I'm not convinced that's the problem.. Here's why...with this, most of the times the rez animation fails mostly due to having a fortune (from what i noticed), if i dont have a fortune, i will rez fine
i think the fortune animation is overriding the rez animations that should play at same time
First, I've died while solo and used either a Rez power and still had the animation fail. I certainly was not granted a [Mystic Fortune] buff from anybody. The [Rise of the Phoenix] rez power is the one I used. Note that other powers and Inspirations may use a different animation while Rezzing. The one I'm referring to is the one where the player floats up with the chest outward and arms spread.
Second, [Dark Extraction] used by a Warshade uses a dead enemy to summon a Nictus Essence. The Enemy targeted used to play the same Rez animation, and then fall back down to the ground when the Nictus came out. Sometimes, the foe fails to use the Rez animation too. It looks like it starts to move, but then plops to the ground again way before the Nictus ever appears. The enemy certainly did not have a [Mystic Fortune] buff.
Third, [Mystic Fortune] has been around a while now, and the Rez animation problem didn't start until just recently. -
I still use the Arena for Heal Farming. Here's just a quick overview for now.. If you search this part of the forum, I'm sure you'll find some more detailed posts (some I even made myself).
You are correct, getting the badge for earning 400 rep will earn your character the LongbowWarden2 Gladiator.
Use one account to open a Gladiator match in the Arena.
Join with the Second account.
It does NOT matter if your opponent is a hero or villain, nor does it matter what AT they are.
The toon earning credit for the SG should select 3 LongbowWarden2s, and then as many other cheaper Gladiators you can, usually for a total of 7 Gladiators on that team. During the match, they will spam their AoE Heals on the rest of the Gladiators. The Gladiators do NOT need to be damaged for them to earn credit.
The other toon joining the match as an emeny can select ANY gladiator and just stand in a corner to keep the match open.
If available, use a 3rd account on the Badge team and just select as many cheap Gladiators that you can (usually 13). Huddle everybody together to give the Warden's more healing Targets, and therefore more credit per hour.
Go to work/school/dinner/sleep and let it run.
On a side note, I'll be running one on Freedom soon, and anybody is welcome to join. I was thinking Tuesday night at around 11pm or so, and letting it run until 9pm Wednesday night (Eastern Time). -
They are doing the wrong emote. I've noticed this a lot recently...
The "Take a pamphlet, yo" guy in Atlas Park was holding a suitcase instead of flyers.
The Natural Quartermaster was doing the BatSmash emote instead of holding the Arachnos Mace.
I'm wondering if it's at all connected to the current problem with the Rez animation not working correctly.

Out of curiosity, how much RAM do you have, and how much free space is on your hard drive? A very cluttered/full drive can cause programs to crash or not start at all. Even if it seems like there should be enough free space, it can cause performance to suffer if it's not defragged.
If that's the case, try removing stuff you don't need like Temporary internet files, pictures/videos/music that you have saved in other places or might be able to save to discs, flash drives or another hard drive. Empty your recycle bin and defrag your drive, then try it again.
As far as CoH_Helper problem goes, the website does state the following:
Quote:If you don't think memory or drive space is the problem, I'd probably start with that... although it doesn't hurt to do "spring cleaning" on your drives once in a while anyway.I would suggest you try to run the program and, if you immediately get an error, then you probably need to get the framework. Microsoft's 2.0 Framework can be found here or you could search Microsoft's site for an even more recent version of the framework. (Version 2.0 is the last version that works with Windows 2000.)
Once you get CoH_Helper running, you can also provide us with a HiJack This report as well. -
I see teams form for this from time to time, but you usually have to be in the zone already to catch them. The reason you don't see much advertisement for them is because.. if you advertise "I'm a Hero in RV", you are usually going to get a bunch of Villains showing up to kill you. lol
You'll have to have people contact you privately and organize a time to meet to take out the AVs. I think I have them on both my Hero badge hunters, but I'd be willing to come help out for a little while, so if you get a big response, just message me and let me know when. @Master-Blade
As for "missing your window", the Devs actually spawned a whole bunch of AVs and Monsters in regular zones during the Anniversary event last year. Many people were able to obtain the badges that way instead. Maybe you'll get lucky and they will do something like that again soon.
PS- I do need a few of the RV Heroes on my Villain Badge toon, so if anybody is setting up a team for those, I'd love to join that too.
@Master-Blade -
Monday night we have a scheduled event as well. I'd be in for joining you Sunday night though. Just look me up.

The only one I care about villainside is Robin, even though the site keeps track of all my other toons too. I almost never play my Stalker. I suppose if you are making a request, I can certainly bring that one instead.. but I can't promise how my performance will be. haha
But seriously, I'm always willing to bring whatever you want.
Edit to add:
Assuming MBs' profile is up to date, she does not have any of the Mo badges.
That reminds me. I should probably relog all my toons and make sure their profiles are all accurate before i17 and GR come around with the new sets. Uggh. lol -
-
I can help out on Robin, but I'll gladly stand aside for people who need the badge.. so I guess that means you can ALT me again so you can fill the team.

Quote:For your purposes, if you can really live with the -vert.. you can run CoH in windowed mode and simply drag the side of the window over to the other screen. You'll be able to put your Map and CoH chat on the other monitor with HS and your other utilities. It would certainly skew the original view though, and your character would no longer be centered on that screen. The only current fix for this would be to use a 3rd monitor on the other side to expand that way as well and re-center your character. lolI run with a dual monitor setup now, although at the moment COH is only on one of them with Herostats, Ventrilo and anything else useful on the other. I certainly wouldn't mind the ability to run COH across both monitors; but what I'd appreciate even more is Bill's suggestion of being able to have all the text on the second monitor... that way I don't have to choose between having a chat tab up or seeing what's going on around it.
So I'd put a big "heck yeah" on allowing COH to display properly over multiple monitors. I also dislike the crop top and bottom it imposes on a standard widescreen but I CAN live with it if I have to. -
Quote:For this, I simply press my mousewheel button. That is the same as pressing Pagedown key to move your camera dynamically, but it's more convenient.I'd also like a button to rotate the camera around to face my character for screenshots during combat.
You're right, it's hard to get a perfect 180 degree rotation, and a command to set it could be useful for some people.... but for screenshot purposes I'd probably pick an angle that looks good myself, then snap away with a few consecutive shots and look through the gallery later. It'd be hard to guarantee that AngleX would yeild the best shot every time.
I've been using it so long, that I forget if it's default or not:
/bind MButton "+camrotate" -
Quote:Looks good, and thanks for the cred. Thanks for the info MB. I've updated the sidebar of the video with your info.
I love working on little projects like this. I end up finding out more cool stuff just by answering other people's questions. I actually added the bind to my default files, so I might use it on a regular basis now. My numpad is filled with commands that do all kinds of crazy QoL things, but I'm running out of keys over there. lol -
I just dialed the number you provided...
Quote:Thank you for calling NCSoft Billing and Technical support. This call may be recorded... blah blah -
Quote:I believe I would as well, especially if you could pick your own center. If the option to utilize multiple monitors were added, I would take advantage of it.
for example, for a 2-screen display, your character could still be in the center of one screen, rather than split down the center of one of them. One purpose some people would have for the second screen would be to virtually increase the FoV by moving much of the interface onto it, rather than giving an actual FoV expansion. -
Quote:Nice work on the video. Actually, I just found out you don't actually need to zone to reset the camera though....and now for another edition of the VPC.
The following Video Player Questions takes the question at hand and puts a video demonstration to the key points addressed in the thread.
VPC: Re-Centering Up/Down View in CoH/V
Enjoy!
My earlier idea failed, and a scheduled SF was starting, so I didn't have time to spend on it then. When it was over, I started playing around with this a little more...
While it's not an exact "push this button" slash command, I did find a little trick...
Target an object
Go into first person view ( ++first )
Go into Follow mode ( follow )
You are now back to "camera-origin" (both 0-horizontal AND 0-vertical). Zoom out and move around at your leisure.
Problem is.. as far as base editing goes, items you select are not considered Targets, so this trick might not work while in that mode, but you can exit the mode, target something (TP beacon works just fine) and reset your view without having to re-zone.
Edit:
Looks like I did find a "push this button" bind for it after all! (providing you have a Target)
/bind KEY "+$$++first$$follow"
Make sure you have any object/player/foe targeted, and press KEY.
Note: There is no need to press the key twice. The release of the key re-runs the command again which automatically stops following and returns you back to third person view. The trick works the same whether you are standing still, walking, running, jumping, or even flying.
As long as you have a target, your view will instantly reset to camera-origin when you press KEY.
Edit2:
(for base-editing purposes)
It seems the view automatically changes when going in and out of Base Edit mode, so the above tricks (even re-zoning) isn't guaranteed to work, but I found that you can glitch it to stay at camera-origin while switching modes..
Target a TP beacon (or other object in the base).
Move to your Base's entrance room.
Switch to first person view
Hit Follow and immediately click the "Edit Base" button.
Your character will continue towards the object and remain at camera-origin. All you do now is simply go wherever you want to and keep your 0,0 camera orientation even while in Edit Mode.
Note: To use my above bind above for base editing purposes, simply HOLD the button down, click the Edit Base button, wait another moment for the Edit Mode interface to fully load, then RELEASE the key.

Sorry, no statboxes tonight. I did set the predetermined challenges for this arc (Players Debuffed, No Temp Powers, 1 Death, 30 Minutes), but since I also forgot about my own difficulty setting (+3), it was way more than we could ever handle so we decided to restart at +0 instead. It went much better, but still ended up taking us close to an hour to finish the arc. At least there were a few badges involved (for those that didn't already have them).

It was midnight by the time we were done with the first arc and much of the team was tired, so they took off. We didn't set any challenges this time and flew through the last 2 arcs. As we were only a team of 3, the AVs were just EBs and much easier to take down.
Overall, it was still a fun night. I'll see you all for the next one! -

Quote:Yes, that would center it left-to-right, but it still uses the same vertical angle it was set at before. The OP is looking for a way to reset the other axis.Hit b twice it moves view to first person then back to "behind the back" 3rd person with view centered.
I think you can do this..
*testing
Edit:
nevermind, it didn't work. lol -
Quote:I like that idea. Originally, I thought it would be nice to move the "neighborhood marker" to the entrance so new people could find it easier. It's current location points underground in the "middle of nowhere", which causes such frustration to new people in that area.Putting a badge at the entrance to the Wolf's Throat in Striga might help people to find it.
What were we talking about again? Oh yeah.. badges.. good plan! lol
