Well at first when I was making the list, I started with what page I was on: 16, then went to 15 then went to 1...then I was like, "I'm not doing anything at work, might as well write all of the info down and post for everyone to use."

If you can't survive doing that under Atlas.. it's probably not worth trying to do anything else with it anyway. lol

Notepad is not a word processor, it's a "plain-text" editor.

Word Processors have features to format documents which may or may not embed into data files when you save them, making them unreadable or produce unintended results on the original program. That's the only reason I wanted to make the distinction in this case.

[/ QUOTE ] The game does have features built into it to prevent what happened to you. You simply chose not to utilize them, and/or didn't realize how they worked.

You could simply do like they said and personalize the name of your arc file so the game wont overwrite "autosave" with new arcs, lol. Looking in your "My Local Stories" tab, you will see the filename saved for each arc. Keeping important information in a file named "autosave", and not making a point to save it yourself manually is just irresponsible.

You could also turn off the autosave feature.
And/or publish your story before working on a new one and edit it later directly on the server.

*Be careful using some word processor programs to save arcs. Some of them add their own scripts and code to the saved data files that the game might not recognize. Simple text editors like Notepad or Editpad are better than word processors for the purposes of backing up or editing personalized CoX files.

[/ QUOTE ] I can't help but notice that there have been some add-on programs in other games designed to steal your password in the background or be harmful in some other way as well. Maybe they don't want to take the risk of being liable if somebody downloads harmful software that they "supported".

Even if the Devs did what MTS suggested and spent time evaluating any of the long-trusted programs that we already use and posted a link on the official site, a password stealer or cheat could still be worked into any new version at any given time, and nobody would ever know until it was too late. Who would be liable for that? Who would have to clean up the mess?

Saying they don't support anything at all is just the safer way to go. It doesn't mean they are going to go out of their way to punish you for using them.. unless they find out something is being exploited too much and put in code to detect certain software or scripts. It's been done several times in other games. You are at your own risk either way.

That will bypass the updater, allowing you to run it twice to load both clients simultaneously. Log into each one as you see fit. The extra command at the very end keeps the instance in the background using minimal resources without sacrificing quality on the instance you are currently looking at.

If you find your system still struggling with a second instance loaded, then it might be time to start sacrificing some graphics settings, but I've found it isn't necessary in most cases. Depending on your system, you could even load a third, fourth, or even more instances if you ever had the need.

Personally, I don't use Windowed mode for multi-instance either, but it has been shown to increase performance on some systems.

You can't reactivate your account without having your NCSoft account info.

Contact support to find your username/password. They will probably ask you certain questions to verify your identity. Take it from there.

Otherwise, if there isn't much on your old account that you care to lose, use a new retail code to start a new one.

Political? I don't think that word means what you think it does.

In order of raw survivability, which seems to be what you're insisting on, it would go something like:

Top two:
Granite Stone
Invuln soft capped
..................
The rest:
WP as long as we aren't including aggro control since your secondary is going to have to do nearly all the work.
Ice soft capped
Invuln with standard SO build
*Shield soft capped (extrapolated from my Shield scrapper, I haven't played or teamed with a Shield tank)
Stone without Granite
Dark - it's a bit squishy and highly reliant on it's heal hitting.
Fire - about a tie with Dark, equally squishy but doesn't have to hit enemies to heal.

Player skill makes an IMMENSE difference in this ranking... I'd take a great tanker playing a Fire over an idiot playing a Granite any day. This is also figured in isolation since the secondary pairing is another huge issue in the ranking.

So what happends when you play your INV-Tanker and take him into situations against Rikti, COT-Spectral class mobs, and Carnie? What happends when you fight stuff that is heavy on Psy, Confuse, and Fear attacks? Do you just avoid that stuff? Do you have problems? Do you walk right through it? Do you handle it but it's troublesome and you die occasionally if you are not careful?

As for the Rikti, I've led ship raids as the main tank and don't have problems. Granted, I usually have somebody keep Fortitude on me the whole time, but that just goes to my good planning. Even if the Emp dies and Fort drops, it just means I might temporarily have to hit Dull pain and/or a couple inspirations to tide me over. There are also many other classes of support you can get to help you. It's still no big deal either way. I've been successful even without relying on other people's buffs.

If you don't know how to compensate for possible weaknesses, you're doing it wrong anyway, regardless what you are.

[/ QUOTE ] Which is exactly why you aren't supposed to publicly announce bugs like this. The OP shared details on how to duplicate their results. Somebody might use that information to find a related exploit. That alone is grounds for not getting the badge.

At the very bottom of your "Game account Details" it should give you a list of "Serial Codes Used on this Account".

GvE and Wedding packs are both specifically labeled, but the Mac edition will just say "Retail".

If it shows 2 Retail codes for today.. then that's really strange for it to have applied the second time. lol

If it doesn't, then recheck your "NCsoft Account Management" screen in the "Use a Serial Code" section to see if hiding in there.

For example, mine says "You have 4 unused serial code(s)", and when I click the link, it gives me the option to use one of them. (I have 2 trials each for Lineage II and Guild Wars sitting in there)

I hope you get a swift response from Support.

[/ QUOTE ] No, it should be in your NCsoft account, but it shouldn't have applied to your game account unless you clicked the button "apply code" after you purchased it.

Also, you wouldn't have been able to apply the same retail code to the same game account twice.. so at least one of them will still be in your account as an "unused code".

Support should be able to clearly see that when they look into it, and reverse that particular charge. Then you'll probably still have to re-try buying the GvE pack again though.
