I'm still playing them and I'm still rating them. There are a lot of fun stories here.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I respect your right to do that.
Personally, I was pissed off for a little while after hearing Posi's post. Not so much because I can't farm, but more because I don't like being told how I can and cannot have fun. So I took a little break, but I am now continuing to go through my huge list, and I am still giving out stars too.
But I do not begrudge anyone who does not.
[/ QUOTE ] That was a QR to the thread in general, not in response to your post... but thanks for understanding. lol -

I believe the flyer is a bug respawn should be 15 min?
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe it's a twenty minute timer, with the clock starting when you enter the mission.
[/ QUOTE ] Yes, the flier respawns on a 20 minute timer.
[ QUOTE ]
That might have been another respawn, if it happened to be 20 min from the time you last defeated it... When it respawns, it always does so back where LR is.
"The One"
[/ QUOTE ] It's not 20 minutes after defeat, it's 20 minute cycle starting from when the mission is instanced. Even if it is still up, it will reset again in 20 minutes.
[ QUOTE ]
What about the flier moving instantly from the position furthest from LR, all the way to where it can attack us while we assault LR in a fraction of a second?
[/ QUOTE ] It doesn't matter here it is, or what is happening to it, as soon as the 20 minute cycle is up, it will respawn by LR with full health. -

Or wait till Going Rogue goes live and get it as a GM. I am just a tad ticked off that Heroes were able to get a Villain GM before Villains could.

Get it as a what?

This was one of MB's patented 54 min runs which is always makes my head spin a bit...but is also a lot of fun!
[/ QUOTE ]Oh come on, I'm sure MB thought that was a slow run! I think we did awesome considering how late it was, the crankiness of a few of the people we picked up, and the fact that 3 of us were lowbies, and two of those three were not SK'd.
[/ QUOTE ]
Under an hour for just screwing around is still good. Yeah if we were really going for speed, we would have done the first mission a little differently too. Having lowbies and no kin you can expect to have a little extra time as well. So yeah.. an hour would have been right on the money for that one.
Even though I was tired, I got picked up on yet another ITF team and we did about 35-40min. That's about the average. My best time is around 23:51 or something. I'd like to see your head spin on that one. I'm gonna have to demorecord it one of these days. lol
In short: I didn't think it was slow. It was a fun time and about what I had expected. If we ran them on a steady all-50 team more often, we'd get closer and closer to the sub30 times. I don't call it slow until it gets into the 90 minute range. We've even done Invincible "kill everything you see" ITFs in just over an hour. lol -

I... have changed my text input box to something like 600x400 pixels instead of the standard tiny one.
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah tried that and got a big at "invalid text area" error.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's because 600 and 400 are not valid entries for changing the size of the Post box. I use the following numbers.
TextArea columns?
106
TextArea rows?
20
[/ QUOTE ] Same here. I use 100x20 and 50 threads per page and 20 posts per page. -
The playerslot.txt file has has issues with that since it's introduction in i12. What many people have done is edit the file themselves to put the characters where they want and then save it as "read only" so the client can't make any changes to it. It should then work as you expect every time. Then again, I've heard of it still screwing up while relogging onto different servers. It's worth a shot either way.
The file can be found in "..\City of Heroes\your_account_name\plyerslot.txt"
The format is as follows:
"your_account_name" "Server_name" "Character_name" "position#"
position#s 0-11 are for the first page.
position#s 12-23 are for the second page.
position#s 24-35 are for the third page.
For example, (using your forum name as a reference):
"ShadowsBetween" "Freedom" "AHero" "0"
"ShadowsBetween" "Freedom" "MyHero" "1"
"ShadowsBetween" "Freedom" "AVillain" "12"
"ShadowsBetween" "Virtue" "AnotherHero" "0"
"ShadowsBetween" "Virtue" "AnotherVillain" "12"
That would put AHero and MyHero on page one, and AVillain on page 2 on Freedom, and AnotherHero on page 1 and AnotherVillain on page 2 on Virtue.
After organizing the list the way you want it, save it. Right click the file itself and go to Properties and select the option for "read-only".
As for your global friend's list. The bar does not appear when the global server is down. You might not be able to make global tells or talk on global chat channels at that time. -

Our character data is on each individual server, yes. If it was all on one server, it might be too much for any one server to handle with all the trades, xp, inf, and everything else changing constantly. That's why there is a different system for global chat... another for the market... another for AE...
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats another good point to make. Its possible that its just simply too much data for all the characters to be stored in one server. However, couldn't you just add more computers to the cluster serving the data to compensate?
[/ QUOTE ] Sure, but then you'll open up ways to manipulate the data and cause massive duping to occur.
Plus, just imagine the data lag between all the servers. Check out how long it takes Leveling Pact XP to apply to your character, then think about if it did that for every single aspect of your character.
Having the data on the same server that uses it is the best idea.
[/ QUOTE ]Just to make sure, you do realize the "entity" referred to as a server (such as freedom) is not a single system but a cluster of computers? That is part of the reason why it's possible to have a zone, but not the whole "server" (or shard, that's part of the reason some places prefer to use the term shard over server), crash?
[/ QUOTE ] Yes, but in the case of zones crashing, that isn't necessarily a single system actually crashing, but one of the applications running the zone. You don't think there is a separate system for every zone and every mission, do you? lol
Point is, the current server "entities" you refer to are in separate locations, and typing them together to one data source would still have latency issues. -

I still wanna know how
/bind LSHIFT+LCLICK
causes something to happen when pressing
LSHIFT
by itself. That seems like there's a bad assumption in there somewhere. In this instance, no, it's no big deal, but it might cause some really Bad Things if it isn't tracked down.
[/ QUOTE ]
Probably because LSHIFT and RSHIFT don't chord. And maybe something recently changed it's behavior on when you do try to chord it.
Have you tried changing it to SHIFT+LCLICK and see if that works?
[/ QUOTE ] This. When you try to chord a key that doesn't chord, it usually just takes the first key.
That would make LSHIFT+LCLICK turn into just LSHIFT.
Binding it to SHIFT+LCLICK instead should make it work without the recticle
(but I personally prefer the Lshift alone and use my recticle. lol) -

I need more details, don't see anything about forceware or programs in the control panel.
[/ QUOTE ]
Even in the regular Windows Control Panel, there is an "NVIDIA Control Panel" icon. Not sure why you can't find it. You may also get there by clicking the NVidia Logo that may be in the bottom right corner of your taskbar.
That's where you can change the settings for your video card directly. Sometimes those settings can override the in-game settings, so it may be helpful to change them there as well.
"Forceware" is just the name of their most recent GeForce packages which includes the driver and the NVIDIA Control Panel. -

No, Doc Delialah level 20-24 gives it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Both do, I think.
Edit: It's for Doc Delilah and Agent G's arcs. There we go.
[/ QUOTE ]
yepper, them's it. I only mentioned Doc because she introduces Agent G and so is technically first (as far as I know) even if they are for the same level range. I've never gotten the portal from the G man. It has always been her or a friendly portal trip to grab the badge.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm guessing very few (if any) have received the portal from G. After all, you don't get introduced to him until after you have completed Doc Delilah's arc. So by the time you get to Agent G, you already have the O-Portal.
[/ QUOTE ] If you are introduced to Doc, but don't start her arc right away (let's say you lvl up during a couple TFs or something), she'll still introduce you to him as the next contact even before you finish her arc. You might even be able to skip Doc entirely if you started Jim but leveled up a lot before you returned. -

[ QUOTE ]
Have you gone into forceware and turned off those custom settings for programs?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure what that means or how to do it, not very computer savvy.
[/ QUOTE ] I think he's referring to the NVidia control panel where you can change options on the hardware itself. -
[ QUOTE ]
LOL of corse not. Do you guyd run daily or weekly?
[/ QUOTE ] Well our particular group we call "Freedom Horde" (at east 3 teams of people) run a different Hero TF every Monday night (this week is a special DrQ on Sunday), a different Villain SF every Wednesday night, and we throw in some extras now and then (tonight is LGTF). MoSTF is every few Saturdays (check the thread for details), but other groups run them often as well. -
[ QUOTE ]
Awesome i runMoSTFs nightly should see about getting in on E's Thnx
[/ QUOTE ] Well don't post your own events on somebody else's thread, but you are certainly welcome to sign up for ours. We run a few hours earlier than you though. -
All you have to do is post what you are running and when, and people will sign up. People do it all the time. Other than E's MoSTF thread.. we usually keep each event on it's own thread.

There are many sorts of people.
Some people say, "Hey, I got X. I'm happy."
Others say, "I have X and you don't. I'm happy."
I personally don't want the latter sort of person to be happy.

Don't forget, "You have X and I don't. I won't be happy until I have it too, you don't have it either."
