And no, I have no other suggestions. -

Would unbinding the semicolon work?
<runs off to check>
Edit: Drat... doesn't look like it... oh well...
[/ QUOTE ]
using an "/unbind" command doesn't actually release the bind on a key, but simply set it back to it's internal default.. which is still broken in this case.
On a side note.. I recommend the un-bind commands for anybody who still suffers from the "<color>Ready!" issues. It works wonders. -

And, no, you can't buy time or sell it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Buy time: To increase the time available for a specific purpose.
If you buy inf/power-leveling, that's less time you have to spend getting it yourself, and gives you more time to do whatever you want to instead.
Whether or not "time" is an object that can physically exchange hands is beside the point. It's a figure of speech. People refer to their services as time. You buy their service, you buy their time. It goes hand in hand.
Even as a measurement, time is a major factor when it comes to pricing.
To use the hamburger analogy:
If I buy 1 pound of hamburger, I pay a certain price.
If I buy 2 pounds of hamburger, I pay twice as much.
It's the measurement that ultimately decides what the price is.
Same goes for the number of miles driven in the other analogy.
As an hourly employee:
If I work 8 hours on Monday and get all my tasks completed, I get paid for 8 hours.
If I work 8 hours on Tuesday and get done with all my tasks early, and help somebody else complete theirs, I still get paid for 8 hours. The associate I helped get's paid the same 8 hours.
If I work 8 hours on Wednesday and don't get all my tasks completed, I might get in trouble, but I still get paid the same 8 hours.
In this case, I am paid for my time spent, not the specific work I do. If I don't actually work during the time I am being paid for, I'd be "stealing time". If I got paid for my specific service, I'd have been paid more on Tuesday, which isn't the case.
As a contractor:
I'm given a task to do, and a timeframe in which to complete it.
In this case, the price of the service is based upon the materials needed to perform the job, and the time needed to complete it. Time is important, and certainly a factor when it comes to "labor" pricing. The harder a job, and the longer it may take, the more expensive the job may be.
If I don't have time to perform the task, the task does not get done, and I do not get paid.
Prices of a service might not be specifically for one's time, but time is part of the price somewhere.
Time is relative, and so is the "value" of it. -
<QR>
Time has several definitions. You can buy time, spend time, serve time, keep time, share time, have a good time.
What time is it? Time to let it go already. lol -

In short. You're wrong. PERIOD.
Now go be insulting to someone who gives a damn about your opinion.
[/ QUOTE ]
FYI, you're not the only one who thinks he's 1) splitting semantic hairs, and 2) wrong.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I guess there are more idiots than him out there that don't understand the simple concept of what "time" is. Seriously, go run down to the store and buy me a minute. Buy me a mile and a pound while you're at it.
[/ QUOTE ]
You make me so MAD! There is no way that I'm going to go all the way to the store to buy you minutes when you have plenty of unused minutes sitting at home!

IIRC, it was suggested to use Windowed mode for such a function. Then, you can even drag it over both screens if you like.

Back in the day, once I got my SG onto the top 100 list, I didn't really care. By then, the base had everything it needed anyway. That's especially true with today's TopList numbers.
As for competition within the SG.. sure there are some who still like to brag about being the first one to 1 Mil prestige, or reaching 1 mil prestige before they even hit lvl 50.. or having multiple characters with over a mil... and like you said.. the occasional friendly fun of competing for a near-top rank, or "I got X amount of prestige in 1 day"... or the infamous contexts where the prestige winner gets a massive inf bonus or something.
It's funny that you mention this actually because I recently started a character on a new server, so it's the first time in years I'm in somebody ELSE's SG.. and I was just looking at the prestige list earlier and trying to figure how long it will take me to get into one of the top earning spots. haha
But if you are talking about an SG that farms.. I'm sure the numbers are much much higher. (I used to turn my prestige off at 1M just as a stepping stone.. nowadays I don't worry about inf either, so I just keep certain toons in SG mode and others not.) -
If it helps relieve your pain, here is a recent e-mail I received from support about this issue:

Thank you again for being so patient during this ordeal. At this time the Development Team is still unsure what caused this to happen but it does seem as though powers and items that may have been lost are being corrected automatically. This means that anything that you may have lost access to should have become available again. If you lost access to something that you've paid for that you have not regained access to (powers, costume parts, etc), please let us know as soon as possible and please include the specific items that are missing.
We are aware that certain Vet Rewards have also been affected as a result of this issue. While it doesn't appear as though access to Vet Rewards was lost, we are aware of some cases in which players gained access to Vet Rewards that they were not yet eligible for. If you have gained access to such rewards, we encourage you not to use them as they could cause problems with your character in the future when the bug is corrected. It is perfectly fine to use the characters themselves, however.

If you don't have your stuff back to normal after relogging, send in a report. Give it a day or so and check in with them again. Update your ticket if it seems to take a few days for a response. -

It's not on the CoX System Requirements because they don't officially support CoX on Vista.

Currently, only Guild Wars and Lineage II are officially supported to play on Windows Vista. However, many of our products play on Windows Vista without issue.

As others have pointed out, the game runs just fine on Vista (for most people). -

I have never had the -project coh tag actually work...
[/ QUOTE ] Make sure you change the path to CityOfHeroes.exe
It wont work with CohUpdater.exe
(Running the updater kinda defeats the purpose of skipping the updater. lol) -

Indeed. It's very useful for getting back into the action quickly during Raids, TFs, other group activities, timed missions, etc... -

I got the 45 month vet badges and rewards on my lvl 30 MM the other day. I should only have up to the 21 months stuff. I sent a bug report and got the standard, stock reply. I played her the very next day. I figure as long as I don't claim any of the extra rewards, or use anything I didn't have before then, I should be ok. I'm not gonna sit that toon on the shelf just because NC has a slower than molasses support team.
[/ QUOTE ] The reason they don't want you to play is so they can more easily datamine to find the last thing that character did that might have caused it. Not knowing how the data is exactly set up, it may not be easy for them to simply "ignore everything after X date".
Like I said above, 2 weeks is well over my limit, and I'm playing mine this Friday regardless. Once it gets to 1 month, I might even claim the Vet rewards too. lol j.k
[/ QUOTE ]
I just wanted to give an update here.. I know we aren't really supposed to quote e-mails from support, but I think it's rather important information for everybody. I'll leave the names out...

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure how much of this e-mail is personalized towards my specific case, but I figured I'd post it anyway. Basically.. check your rewards and be as specific as possible when sending the report... and DON'T claim anything you didn't actually earn.. no matter how tempting it might be! lol -
Example:
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh
Keep in mind you'll still have to verify files the next time you run the updater...
...and you'll have to run the updater next time there is a patch. -

OH! I also want to add this..
Sometimes people want to make a little extra money before they outlevel their enhancements and have to buy more. -
You can also use that feature to stay the same level as somebody you like to play with. Leveling pact certainly makes this easier, but that's limited to only 2 people, and you can't create pacts at higher levels.

Nice job everybody! I think both teams finished with right around the same completion time. Luna's team was just coming out when we got there. (Edit: Turns out there was some crashing going on and they went outside to wait. It didn't take them long to finish up that last mission once everybody was there. Gratz to everybody!)
One more Shadow Shard TF to go.. and the Storm Palace yet to explore! Faathim is next week... see you all there! -
I have one of my favorite characters affected as well. I even tried updating my petition to find out if I can use my character and they just said "we assure you we are still looking into what has caused this..." blah blah.
This Friday will make 2 weeks. (maybe 3). If nothing is done by then.. I'm just going to use the character anyway. I understand there is a lot going on, but that should be plenty of time if even to copy the info somewhere so they wont have to datamine through as much to find the cause. -

I recall reading that there was some trick to getting "The" at the beginning of the actual name. Don't remember what it is, though.
[/ QUOTE ] Like we said.. it can't happen unless you don't put a space after it. Even if you type the name first and try to edit in the "The" or the space afterward, it will still disappear. Even if you try typing "the" twice, they will both disappear.
If there is a trick, I haven't seen it, nor gotten one to work. -

They changed that Rikti Chief Soldier. He now does a second ranged attack even when in melee range.
That mob is no longer the ideal Damage Farm mob. You'll have to find another mob.
[/ QUOTE ]
THIS.
Yeah, I am disappointed too. I could have earned my last damage badge before the change in i14 hit, but I ended up working on some day jobs instead. Now it's going to end up taking me at least 3 times longer to get that last 150M.
I did some testing and found that for me, 2 CoT Fire Thorn Casters is the best progress/hr I can get. Their attacks combined put me down to 25hp and I barely have enough time to regen before they strike again. I only did it a couple nights since I did my testing, but I still have the mission sitting there for when I get around to doing it some more. lol
YMMV -

More than likely.. it tells you in the guide.
It's probably not going to be a category of foes, but an individual character in that group that will be lvl 50. You can even use him as your ally if you want.
[/ QUOTE ]
But how do I pick that lvl 50 foe? I see my custom critter being lvl 1-54. How do I set them to 50 or where do I find that lvl 50 critter (or critter group)?
The guide just says Natterling - Minion (50 - 50). Where do I find this critter?
[/ QUOTE ] Natterling is in the group: Soldiers of Rularuu
Your custom critter group will still display as 1-54 in the editor, but the mission itself will be lvl 50 which will make your custom group spawn at lvl 50 as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
So I can pick a specific critter from the enemy group?? How do I do that? I thought I just pick either the enemy group or my custom critters?
Damn, I am so confused! LOL
[/ QUOTE ] I want a link to this guide you are using. Either it's a really bad guide, or you are not reading it.
I've also told you a couple times what to do with the Natterling. Simply create an objective on your mission (required or not) that has the natterling. It doesn't matter if it's a patrol, an ally rescue, or a kidnapping, or a "boss defeat". When you set any these, you have the option to pick a different group and a specific character from that group. As long as the Natterling is spawned on the map somewhere, the rest mission will be lvl 50. That means all you need to do is set your custom group as the main enemy on the map, and they will also be lvl 50.
Please try it.. and come back here telling us you got it to work. If it doesn't work, give us the link to the guide you are using. Good luck. -
-threat is NOT stealth, and is only considered a type of stealth by some people because some foes may not attack you. They will still notice you, but won't care you are there, and might not attack.
Stealth is just the distance at which the foes will or wont notice you.
Combine the two, and you end up being able to go almost anywhere, and even if you do get close enough to be noticed, the foes wont care that you are hanging around.
