    The way I used to find Hess...
    Follow the yellow line on the map at the lower end of The Maw and keep going East.
    Once I reached the SE corner of The Maw, I went NE until I hit the orange line for The Bog and set my Compass directly on East until I reached Hess at the end of the island. lol

  6. I don't have the oil slick on any of my characters, but I've used taser and apprentice charm to light other people's before. They work just fine.

    [/ QUOTE ] I downloaded it because I was curious, and it appears to simply update the registry, and make your shortcuts and nothing more. That get's the initial installation out of the way. You'd still have to use the updater to download the client.

    [/ QUOTE ] No kidding.. I was simply pointing out the value of the hp and how much credit you should get for each strike of damage. Factoring in regeneration would skew the number depending on the regeneration rate and how much time had passed between each of those attacks in the example.

    I was explaining my interpretation of my findings regarding the mechanics of the badge credit.. not the method of badge farming. You still get credit for the badge, even if you are not farming.

    As for the farming methods, yeah guids are great for squishies, but behomeths work better for high HP characters (Scrappers, Tanks, Brutes)

    Well, to finally speak on the actual method.. (since the nerf of the Rikti Captor), If been using 2 CoT Ice Thorn Casters. I don't know how that compares to the beasts, but when their attacks strike at the same time, it puts me down to 25hp, and I barely have enough time to regen before the next hit. This is on a regen scrapper with capped regen in rest.

    The only drawback of the Ice Thorn Casters is that they actually do use a second power from time to time. The good part about that is it's only a shield they use on themselves, and only hinders your damage progress while they activate it (instead of an attack), and doesn't pose a threat to your character.

    From my own experience, I tend to believe that the credit toward this badge is an ALL or NOTHING kind of thing. If the resulting hp falls below the base hp value, you'd get full credit for that attack. Using your example, you will still have to exceed 801 points of damage, but you would still get credit for the full 801, not just 1 point (if the 801 was inflicted in 1 shot).

    I tested this back when most of us were using the Rikti Captor to farm this line of badges. I found that putting Dull Pain on auto to increase my HP actually netted me significantly more credit per hour.

    Note, this would only be useful for large blows of damage. Using DoT like a lava pit wouldn't benefit from +hp bonuses.

    Maybe not with dull pain and earths embrace, I will admit I HAVE NOT verified that. . .but I can prove it on my WP brute. . . I have logs saying it has taken around 100mil points of dmg on hero stats, but um . . . I still don't have the 10 mil badge *sigh* (that is needed for an accolade >&lt

    [/ QUOTE ] I agree, Herostats simply shows you the full amount of damage the chat has displayed. Even with the Rikti Captor, I was getting getting credit for significantly less than what HS displayed. But I attribute that to the 1-shot rule limiting the damage the character had actually taken... and any damage I might have taken that was low value within that +hp threshold.

    Using your example:
    as for the first 799 damage..
    Getting hit for 450 wont count at all. (resulting hp is 350 above your base hp)
    Getting hit for an additional 300 wont count at all. (resulting hp is 50 above your base hp)
    Getting hit for an additional 200 should count for full value (resulting hp is finally below your base hp)
    This is of course not taking into account any regeneration.

    In that case, you still earned 50 points from that bonus. Granted, it's not as good as 800 would be, but you do get some credit for any of the +hp bonuses depending on the status of your actual hp value before and after the damage is inflicted.

    They didn't report any numbers with any of their games in their first quarter 2009 report that came out in May, now they simply report income for each game. And since NCSoft is a Korean company, that income is reported in Korean currency. Exchange rates between the US dollar to the Korean Won fluctuate greatly month to month, quarter to quarter. A weak dollar makes this game's income go up in their quarterly reports, a strong dollar has the opposite effect.

    The last time they published both numbers, for third quarter 2008, the max concurrent users online was 13,443, unique access was 124,939 across the 15 (including Europe) game servers.

    They did release max concurrent numbers only for fourth quarter 2008, 13,823.

    Don't forget that this most likely includes purchasable extras like character slots, server transfers, and booster packs. That would make the subscription amounts less.

    "Unique access" is most likely the number of separate accounts that were active at any point during that time period, which may or may not include trial memberships.

When you click "spam", all other e-mail from that same sender will also be removed. You'll probably only end up hitting "spam" about 35 times. haha

    [Haste] (not [Hasten]) does increase runspeed and flyspeed.
    But that's not really a power, it's a temporary buff you may or may not receive by defeating one of the 4 large Labs on Crey maps.

  21. I've probably been part of at least a dozen separate threads in the suggestion forum regarding this issue, as well a few here, and in Player questions.

    I gave up a long time ago. lol

    On a side note, you can effectively reduce your own spam by using /hide so people can't use a simple /search to get your name. It may take a little time for the spam to dwindle down, but it does work. AND/OR, since you don't intend to use the email at all, you can ignore the little red letters and the notification in the chat of new mail.

    If that doesn't work, change your UI color to almost match the red color, so you might not notice it as much.

    If that doesn't work, print your UI and cut out the Email button and tape it onto the screen so it looks like it's always empty. haha

    I don't think you get what Mateo is saying.

    If you're going to pay to move a slot from on server to another, don't bother. You can simply buy new slots on the server you want.

    Slots are purchasable. Right now. They're available for purchase through the character creation screen from the PlayNC store.

    And I guess Mateo didn't follow what I was trying to infer when I said "small" fee. I'm sure it was no one's fault but my own for not being clear enough.

    I'm aware you can purchase slots, I was suggesting that if there were to be a fee involved for moving a claimed slot, it would be a very small one, perhaps $1.99 or $2.99.

    The reason for the smaller fee would be that while you are gaining a slot on one server you're losing one on another. The benefit to the buyer would be, if they are in a similar situation as myself, they would at least be able to use the slots they'd earned.

    I have no qualms with paying $5.99 (and cheaper if I buy more at a time) for new slots and most likely will once my altitis fills Virtue up. My issue is merely one of annoyance that a server that I no longer roll alts on has all these extra slots sitting around that I could be using on the server I'm active on.

    The point is.. you are warned when you claim the slot that it's not reversible.
    If you create a character in that slot, and then change your mind by deleting a character, you'd be cheating the system by then wanting to transfer that empty slot to another server.

    Buying a slot will give you a new slot, without losing the slot on the other side. That may be worth more to somebody because they still have the previous slot to make a character in later without having to do a slot purchase anyway.

    I'd be assuming you were pretty full on the previous server to begin with, or else if you weren't intending on making a character in that slot, why did you claim it in the first place? If you change your mind and end up wanting to use it again, it'd still be there if you bought a slot instead of transferring.
    I'm sorry, but it'd be your own fault. Buy a new slot and move on. Transferring newbs and/or empty slots of any kind is jut not cost effective.

    Moral: Don't claim a slot until you are actually full and "need" the slot to create your next character. Otherwise it doesn't make sense to add the slot, nor accept the terms of it being permanent.
