Quote:I replied in your other thread. If you were seeing a "spike" at 110mb, then it wasn't CoH you were looking at before. For comparison, even HeroStats runs at about 140mb. CoH running at 900mb is normal.Yeah, I made the other post, but. . .as I said there. Mine before yesterdays patch it would SPIKE at around 110MB. . . now I'm constantly sitting at around 900+MB
Sorry, something smells fishy to me. I was neither in MA or Base Edit, it is sitting at 900 almost as soon as I load up -
1/10 of a GB is only 100mb. You have to be mistaken. The game loads at over 600mb before you even log in, and then well over 800mb once you do. CoH using 9/10 of a GB (900mb) is certainly normal.

It doesn't take long for mine to reach 1.2G, and that's the way it's been for a while. Mine has hit around 1.5G even before the patch.. but that's after excessive use (heal/damage farming; relogging; not quitting to desktop even during maintenance; SG base editing), and I still never crashed or lagged because of it.

I already pay $143.40 every 14 months. I've been here for over 3 years, and at the beginning I was paying the $14.99 per month (for comparison, that's $209.86 for 14 months).
If we had a $200 lifetime membership, I should have 3 permanent accounts by now. lol
Like they said above, it's not something a long-existing subscription service like CoH would benefit from. -
Quote:The old forums weren't separate either. They used the same database and showed the same exact posts. The "villain board" just used a different url to display a different backdrop and used the villain skin as the default while using that url.Yeah no separate forums for Villains anymore. Just change to the color to red and feel more villainous.
Personally, I liked using the CoH backdrop with the Villain skin, until I realized that the villain url seemed to be more stable. Then I simply moved completely to the Villain urls.
Now, there doesn't seem to be any cosmetic difference at all, as the background is included in the skinning preference. As for stability, I couldn't even get the villain url to log me in correctly, and now they finally changed it to redirect to the hero url anyway. lol -
There should have been an option to "Change card" that you could have used instead of removing the card. Removing the first card might have automatically canceled your subscription to the game.
To put a new card on file, you'd have to go into your game account and re-subscribe with the new card. If it shows you still have an active subscription, you'll have to un-subscribe, then re-subscribe with the new card information. -
URL format:
[url=http://boards.cityofheroes.com/]City of Heroes Forum[/url]
Will display like this:
City of Heroes Forum
You can even put images between the url tags, like the calendar thumbnail images I have in my Sig. -
IIRC, it kept track of who had the most kills, the most healing, the most damage, etc.
Yes, they've been offline for a while now. -
Use the search feature to find the information you are looking for, and if it's the case that an original-poster has not edited their thread... somebody can create a new/updated one with correct formatting/links.
-
Somebody else reported the same thing.
Personally, I have not had any issues. My client is currently reporting about 1.2G, which is normal for me.
As I stated in the other thread, there does seem to be some memory issues while using AE or base editing for long periods of time, but that doesn't seem to affect everybody, and has been around way before this new patch.
As Hugginator said, the client would usually crash around 1.9G of memory usage. That's because 32-bit applications are limited to 2G each. -
That's why I pointed it out. Using a [post=###] code instead of a full URL is useful, don't get me wrong, but it shouldn't give you any extra room in your signature.
-
The forums are not broken. It's different software and uses different commands to access posts and threads. The people who posted those guides would have to re-edit those posts to fix the formatting and links.

Quote:Since we're using some neat extra codes, you can also use [noparse] to display the code without executing it, so you don't have to trick the forum with interjected [i][/i] stuff. lolA shorter way of linking to a specific post is this (sigs are length-limited, after all):
Copy the URL of the post, you'll get something like this:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showpost.php?p=2088887&postcount=10
(This is a link to UberGuy's post above mine)
See that p=####? That's the post number. Put that inside a post= code, and you'll get a shorter link.
[post=2088887]Viewable text here[/post]
looks like
Viewable text here
Instead of having to type
[url=http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showpost.php?p=2088887&postcount=10]Viewable text here[/url]
On a side note, I have tons of text in my sig. The restriction might be only how many lines you have, not how much text you have. -
Quote:OP: Keep in mind the table on wiki shows you the Maximum Damage, not the Bonus Damage that the in-game Combat Attributes will show you. As it states, you'd have to subtract the base of 100% Damage from the value on the table to see what the Bonus Cap is.Paragon Wiki to the rescue!
All the caps you are looking for, except your limited edition Positron Isotopes Baseball cap at the link above. -
Yes, my link brings you to the page, but still queues you directly at the post. If you want to view it without the rest of the thread, simply change my link to say "showpost", instead of "showthread".
-
Quote:Is this it?Oh one more thing while I have your attention?
The link in my sig to a post in the Rude Tells thread no longer works, of course.
But someone originally helped me set it up so it linked directly to the post itself, whereas all I was able figure out how to do was link to the page the post was on.
Could someone please help me get it back the way it was?
I can find the page again if that helps, just let me know.

I just checked mine, and it's currently using 1.2G, which is normal for me.

Were you editing an SG base or using MA at all? There seem to be a few memory holes while using those, but they were around far before today's patch. -
I've noticed similar behavior with long animations like Sniper powers as well, even before the latest patch(es).

That was good stuff. Not only did we not have any deaths, but we barely had any wounds either. Even the AVs were all cake. haha.

Quote:IIRC, Veteran Badges are calculated on the Billing server, not the Store server, and once issued to a character, it's up to the Game Server containing the character data to award the reward when claimed. You should always be able to claim the Veteran Rewards... except for....I had this problem on a new hero I made, I couldn't select the powers until after I leveled up, which isnt normally the case. I had a theory that it wasn't the character, it was that the Store was down at the time I was trying to select. I haven't been able to test that though.

Wow, people signed up fast. lol
I'd like to bring Longbow on this if possible. -
Quote:Khelds in Nova form actually turn when strafing. I wouldn't mind this being incorporated into a walk.To which plenty of people immediately replied: we would be delighted to be able to walk forward only. The flypose emotes have similar restrictions and we were thrilled to have them. Limited walking capability is infinitely superior to NO walking capability.
I think the other Dev argument is that a walking would most likely end up being a power with -Slow, which would just end up messing up the animation while having buffs like Speed Boost. It might be too much work to make the animation activate automatically while you are in a particular speed range, but that would be the ideal implementation/fix for this.
