Quote:I reported and posted about it the night i15 came out. We just happened to have 3 teams scheduled for that night and found out first the hard way. lolI reported it in-game as a bug within the weeks it happened. Hopefully they will devote some attention to this soon, at least for the sake of the experimenters.
Weeks later, Devs didn't have a clue it was even a "problem". lol. We were told it was lost in the shuffle of "forwarding to the dev team" stuff and wasn't looked at yet.
I'd say "Hopefully they give it some consideration", but I don't mind it either way. It was annoying having all 3 teams fail that night, but we have adjusted and done several runs since then. -

For me, I used photobucket for the calendar images in my sig. On the album view, photobucket actually has their own thumbnails you can link to for the image instead (by adding a "th_" prefix to the filename). Then you can use the actual url to the image so you get the full version when it's clicked on.
The only problem you'll run into though is that people who don't have images turned on will only get the link to the thumbnail image, and no way to view the full image without manually editing the url. To correct this, I provided a regular link to my calendars as well. (I actually made my own thumbnail images manually and linked to those instead so the links were more apparent as to which image it pointed to, by putting my "thumb" indicator at the end of the link. Otherwise, the links may look identical when truncated.)
BTW Stargeek, you can use the command to display code you want to show somebody. Then there is no messy "replace this" instruction, or trying to fool the system with codes like [img]. It's just copy/paste.
As an example, your code would look like this:

The sig image for Thor's Assassin
And the resulting direct copy/paste would look like this:
The sig image for Thor's Assassin
I added a manual link in my example for the OP's benefit, so people with images turned off can still view the images he posts in the future. -
There are several powers that any single toon can have to keep the repairmen under control. From almost any pet, to Bonfire, to Hurricane, and many large radius AoE attacks... it just takes 1 of them used correctly to give you a huge advantage against the unintended repairmen change.
Note: Just because it was an unintended change, doesn't make it a bug, and doens't mean it'll be fixed. Last official word we heard was that the Dev's weren't aware of it, despite all our posts and bug reports, and they'd look into it. -

Quote:A respec forces you to train all the way up to your previously trained level. If we are looking for tricks, stopping at the start of a dual build or maybe a respec would also make you con as level 1.
IIRC, not leveling up after a build change to a non-existing 2nd build actually starts you at level 0. You still have to train up and select your level 1 powers. -
That being the case, I could switch to one of my Khelds for double the fun, but we'll wait and see. lol

I don't think it's a bug. It seems as though the story-line was designed for that mission to be a failure. The only way to secceed is to "ghost" that mission and get the nodes, ignoring the rest of the foes in the mission.
Instead of "waiting the 10 minutes", you could have still gone inside the mission and earned xp/inf by defeating foes while you were there, even if you don't succeed the mission overall. -
Maybe I can get a workout for my MM. I haven't used him for ages. I think he's like a bar from 36. Considering he's my first villain, I should probably start doing something with him again. haha

Quote:You can't run multiple copies of the UPDATER, which makes sense because that program modifies the client files and having more than one running at the same time could result in conflicted/corrupted data.... but you can certainly run as many CLIENTS as your system/wallet can handle. To some extent you're fighting a losing battle here because CoX isn't designed to run multiple instances on the same machine, and NCSoft will tell you right away that they don't support such efforts.
I'm also interested in the meaning of "I didn't not set one," which means, as I understand it, "I set one." -
Quote:http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Day_JobsAre the DayJob badges/powers just buggy overall? I finally got the Predator dayjob badge, then logged out over night in a PvP zone to charge it. I checked it this morning after charging overnight for about 12 hours, and it the icon showed up and gave me the 10% recharge bonus for about 3 minutes.....then nothing.
Does 12 hours charge = 3 minutes? Tell me this is buggy behavior.
Quote:Most rewards take 10 days of offline time to accumulate the maximum benefit duration, which is usually 2 hours.
Yeah, some of the dayjobs are kinda cheesy. How about getting extra vanguard merits, enhancements, prestige, xp, inf or salvage at the end of every mission, but only for the first 6 minutes you are online? I hope you can ghost for that single bonus, and/or can form a team very quickly. lol -
I'll bring King-Rushmore (stone/stone tanker), and I'm not an "iffy" anymore

Quote:I posted a suggestion above while you were posting this. After more experimenting with different file names and install paths the shared registry files started to seem more apparent. Thank you for the confirmation. The registry files would be the same regardless of which of my hard drives I installed it in. I have different versions of windows on each, but only run one of them. The registry file creation location would be dependent on the version of windows running, if I understand the situation right.
Still hopeless then. I am still open to advice, otherwise I may just have to develope a complex game starting sequence like: Start one copy in full screen, then select windowed mode(which only takes effect on restart of program) and then open the second one, which in theory should then start in windowed mode. I think that may get around the issue of changing from full to windowed requiring a restart.
also, you can add -fullscreen 0 to the shortcut to make it automatically load in windowed mode. -
What Medic said...
Keep in mind that even if you use the shortcut to directly run the exe, it'll still read off the same registry. That's why it doesn't make any sense to have 2 copies of the game under any circumstances. The only way around this is to possibly run it from 2 separate windows profiles at the same time.
If you want to run one copy at lower settings, you can use a shortcut that has -maxinactivefps 1 at the end of it. Then, only the active screen will be using more resources, and if you need more action on screen 2, you simply switch to it. -
Quote:I'm always in for a group. Some people have told me I could fit in well with J-force, so that could be fun to find out. I'm pretty sure I've teamed with several before, but because I like to keep the pace moving a bit fast at times as well, it didn't stick out in my mind as much. lolIt was easy… I was going to suggest we bump the difficulty last night because it was going … rather well. At that point, I started trying to bring in more mobs. :P
Roxona probably got the first proper workout of her toon’s lifetime on that mish and she has J to thank for it. No cookies needed! Muahahahahaha.
If we can all commit to doing this again, it probably would be great to have a JFS team running on Invincible with some Horders along just to compare notes. I just didn’t realize so many of us would be there otherwise I would have said something earlier.
Seriously, though, we had fun. Thanks for having us all!
Bunni, Tabby is in! lol -

OP: Send a /bug report so your report can reach the Devs through official channels. It's unlikely a forum post will get their attention.
An example is the multiple threads regarding the AI change in the STF repairmen. A couple patches later, people complained there was no fix, and the Devs replied "fix for what?" cause they were not aware of the "problem", despite the multiple threads and the few /bug reports that were sent in and apparently not escalated to the Devs with enough urgency to get attention.
I suppose you could also try PM'ing a couple Devs on the forum with your information, and a link to your thread. -

Nothing much to mention here. drogoh was at the store, so we ran it with 7. We steamrolled through once again. I might start running these on Invincible or something just to make it more interesting. lol

Nice job everybody! We picked up drogoh for this one and had yet another easy TF (as if there is anything hard about Council anyway, lol).
Glad everybody could make it to this one (myself included). Gonna do some badge-hunting for [Eye of Magus] on my Blaster and then hit the sack. lol
See you all for the next one! -
It's bugged, and BaBs already said it's fixed in i16.

I'm in again with Tabby. Up for anything.

Quote:They usually e-mail you the full code anyway when you apply it (even if it was an online electronic purchase). When you buy it, it only shows the last four in your account details, but it shows the full 20 in the e-mail once it's applied. I just keep all my NCSoft communications in a separate e-mail folder in case I ever need them.Keep paper copies of the all the serial codes you apply. They can be used by customer service to identify you in case of a forgotten password or other problems.
Example:
Quote:You have successfully applied the following serial code to NCsoft account 'account_name':
Date : Aug 17 2009
Game : City of Heroes City of Villains
Account: account_name
Serial : 1234-ABCD-1234-ABCD-1234
Type : Perk
Please keep this email for future reference as the serial code may be required to obtain customer service.
Thank you,
-The NCsoft Team
Free time always gets added to the "Playable until:" date on your account management screen. You don't have to cancel any subscription to get your free time. You simply wont have to make another payment until 30 days after the "Renewal Date:" it showed before the time was added. The "Renewal Date:" should increment to reflect the added time as well. This is true for free time added for refer-a-friend as well.
Quote:When my month was up (in the middle of a Synapse Task Force!), I actually RAN to get my credit card to re-apply.
Your account might have even expired before you started the TF. I'm assuming you DC'd or relogged for some other reason, and then was denied re-entry. That sucks though. It's a good thing you didn't lose your wallet that day. It would have made an already-bad day, even worse. lol -
Quote:Lol. it's funny you say that, cause the one I have uses /sync, /visscale, and /loc (to have text confirmation that it activated and just to have a /loc bind if i need it). lolMaybe we should create an uber-bind or -macro that everyone hits right after zoning to 'correct' or restore everything that gets changed upon zoning: It would include...
- /sync
- /unloadgfx
- <restore default global channel>
- /windowcolor <restore window opacity>
- /visscale
See, the transatlantic sharing of the forums is bearing fruit!
