Yes, it seems to happen when there is a slight lag at the moment the door is opened. The server registers that the door is open, but the client does not. If you walk forward, the client "predicts" that it will obstruct you, and makes it look like you ran into the door, and then a moment later, the server reports your actual position as being on the other side of the door, and you "morph through it", as you put it.

Quote:It was not more than a few days after the new forums came online, all addresses should now automatically redirect to boards.cityofheroes.comAlso, what address are you going to for your login? I know that the boards.cityofheroes.com address works, and that initially the boards.cityofvillains.com, boards.coh.com, boards.cov.com, and eu.boards.cityofheroes.com would not work correctly. I don't know if they've gotten issues resolved or not.
There should be no way to log into the wrong page. -
Were you using a non-widescreen resolution to test? Like I said, you'd most likely have to be using standard scaling, instead of widescreen, then the cursor should not be offset, or if it is, it's not as dramatic.

Quote:There is a "Raise the Rep" thread in the "Just for Fun > Forum Games" section that would disagree with you. There are people with 11 and more "bubs" and only the first 5 are "lit". I'm waiting to see if it ever stops, changes color again, or moves to a second line. roflMy guess they alternate color in groups of five. First five bright, next five dim.
BTW, I only guessed at it being 1000rep because some brief research leading me to believe the default on vBulletin boards is for each dot to represent 200rep. The administrators can of course change this to any value they like. I haven't paid attention to mine, and kept it off, so I don't know whether it holds true on this board as well. -
Quote:Here is the link to: CoH_HelperFollow this link and see if any of the info helps you. If not then read the "How to Post" section in that thread and post your HijackThis and COH Helper info here.
Also, a "HiJack This!" report would be good to provide us so we can see what else you are running.
It's possible a Windows skinning program could be preventing the game from loading any further. Do you have one of those loaded? If not, please provide us with the 2 reports mentioned above.
BTW OP, CoH uses more resources than most people think. Just because it may not be mind-blowing, fast-paced graphics, doesn't mean there isn't a lot going on. It's bad practice to compare functionality of games, as each one will run differently behind the scenes. -
My only guess is she is running out of memory on her computer or processing it so slow that the game loses connection halfway through loading and kicks her back to the login screen. At that point, the server thinks she is still logged in and waiting for a command, which it never gets because she lost connection. It eventually gets booted off when she attempts to log back in again, or after a certain amount of time of inactivity. That sort of message happens a lot ofter somebody disconnects.
Anyway, the main point is.. make sure the computer she is using can actually run the game reasonably well. (It's the consensus of this forum that the minimum specs on the box and website are severely outdated, and should have been edited a long time ago to reflect the newer versions of the game.)
If you can, post a CoH_Heper report for us to look over and diagnose any weak points. If the system looks OK, we can decide on another course of action. -
Quote:A workaround is to use a non-WideScreen resolution, but that may cause annoying distortion for the rest of the game. From the ATI Issues sticky at the top of the forum:
I can confirm that this issue still exists with the HD4XXX series as well. There is no fix for this (other than getting an NVidia graphics card).
-Wolf sends
The only other workaround would be to use windowed mode where you can resize to the correct scale so it doesn't happen, and some people report that it doesn't happen on windowed mode anyway, so you might be good there as well.
YMMV -
Quote:ROFL that is a good idea, but what it does is search for 5 consecutive "lit" ones, with dark ones after it, and replaces the whole thing with a tractor. This lets people with "regular" reputation still appear normally. That is hilarious
What you should do is make the unlit ones the tractor and the lit ones corn or something
I shall consider it though. rofl. -
I'll be there. Up in the air about who to bring at this point though.

Quote:Yep. I'm guilty of this as well. I had my healing badges, but I still needed the last damage badge. I was almost there, but stpped to earn a couple Day Jobs. Now I don't have my Rikti Captor anymore. I should have just finished it off while I had the chance! lol*Guilty*
Yes, the day job badges do take away time from the healing badges.
But seriously, we'll see how these reduced badge requirements in i16 works out, and maybe I'll have it when I log in. -
Quote:Patch Notes: 8/4/2009Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 8 person badge borked for villains? Last I heard and attempted it, villains couldn't get it. We had 4 villains on each team.

Quote:It's also good to note that the saved costumes may not appear correcetly on the new character if they have not have unlocked certain necessary costume pieces. When you save a costume file, it's put out on your hard drive.
If you've installed CoH in the default location, these costume files will be found in c:\program files\city of heroes\costumes\
Just take the file from there and you can send it to whoever you want. They can then take it and put it back in that directory on their computer and they'll have the saved costume file. -
This. Seriously, we loved the picture. You do deserve praise for it.. but it REALLY doesn't have to be that big. Just make it about 1/4 to 1/3 the size and you'll be fine.

I was speaking generally. There are obviously going to be a few exceptions.
It doesn't matter if he is or not. Rep means nothing with all the farmers out there cause you can't tell the difference.
You actually made my point for me.
Now I change it to a tractor to be nicer/more fitting: -
Everybody over 5 dots (1000rep?) starts getting dark ones added instead.
I used stylish to change high rep to an image of a dunce cap, cause the only way to have that much is by running a rep farm. It may be fun for some people I guess and that's fine, but it defeats the purpose of even having rep, so I just turned mine off.
(I also changed the little black dot for having it off to a crown.lol)

Please run this file for us: CoH_Helper
There were a few driver versions that don't work well with CoH. It's possible you have one of those, and a simple update might fix you up. -
Quote:Sounds like it just needs a zone reset then.. unless it's repeatable after the morning maintenance as well... in which case it might be a little harder to find out why the event is "sticking". lolHaving gotten the badge on several toons as well, I'm aware of the mechanics.
I've also gotten a response from NCSoft noting that there is a bug report on this now, so something is wonky with the raves. As a little more of a follow up, I've been sitting in Skyway on the Justice server for quite a bit (well over 10 mins), long enough for it to become daylight and the rave is still going on. It may just be that the timer has some how gotten "stuck". On top of that, it's the same spot I noticed earlier in the day when I logged on several times during the day.
I'm gonna keep an eye out on Freedom and see what happens. -
Quote:"Trim some off the bottom"? How about just reduce it's overall size? Filesize isn't so much a big deal, it's having to see a giant picture every time you post.It is 600 x 384, a little tall, but it is still pretty small in data size. I guess I could try to trim some off the bottom
They want you to limit your sig pic to 600 x 120 anyway. "A little tall"? Yours is more than 3 times taller.
BTW, you are over the filesize limit as well anyway.
Your pic is 176.02 KB, and the filesize limit is 146.5 KB.
Not by much.. and not a big deal.. I'm just sayin'.. size is the "bigger problem" so to speak. lol -
Quote:Yes. As long as the codes are in the proper order, it will work the same way.You can also color/bold your highlighted text before imbedding your link... I dunno if you can do it after imbedding, haven't tried it.

Quote:I don't care how many times you've earned the badge. Nothing you said conflicts with what I said. I just didn't say the Ravers eventually go back inside. Big deal. They're still separate enemies. Just because the "story" is written to appear like they go inside and drug-up, doesn't mean it's the same character actually coming back outside. Supra Trolls will come out whether Ravers go in the door or not.http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Troll_Rave
I've gotten the badge on several characters, both before and after the warnings were added. The glowing Trolls go into the building and then come back out as Supa Trolls, which is why you sometimes won't find anything but the police barracades there if you go late enough. The game still considers the rave to be in progress, but all of the participants have wandered off. If the OP is going late enough, that may be why they're not finding any Trolls, which is what we're trying to determine. If they're going immediately when the message comes up, then yes, the Rave may be broken.
Either way, ur right, the point is that the event is technically still in progress all night until the Supa Trolls disappear, even though the "site" may not look active. This map shows the paths the Supa Trolls typically make. As Katze meant to point out, they end up around the Yellow Line train and the Hollows Gate (you are already in Skyway silly,).
-
Quote:No, the Ravers and Supra Trolls are two different enemies.Did you go immediately when the message came up? If left for long enough all the Ravers will turn into Supa Trolls, then eventually wander off and despawn.
Ravers come out a door and "party" at the location.
The "Supra Trolls" come out a door and move to specific other locations in the zone. -
Quote:You can use the command to display your code so you don't have to use "replace this" instruction or [[img][/img]url] tricks. It's a bit less than intuitive. I normally start off by using cut-and-paste for the URL so I don't make any mistakes. I click the button to insert a link (I'm set to the 'standard' edit screen) and paste the URL.
After I hit okay, the editor inserts the link to that site with the link text ALSO being the URL I just pasted. So, I delete the 'inner' copy of the URL and type whatever I want.
So, the editor inserts this: (the square brackets replaced by parentheses to 'un URL' it)
(URL="http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page")http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page(/URL)
And I edit it to this:
(URL="http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page")Linky(/URL)
Example:
CoH Homepage
Will display like this:
CoH Homepage -
