Quote:Here it is:Nah there is a post somewhere saying that the server maintenance times have changed From 8am BST to 12(noon) BST
Quote:We, at the Paragon Studios, take the maintenance of our servers very seriously and with the recent evolution of City of Heroes® it has become increasingly necessary to have simultaneous maintenances of the North American and European servers due in part to common systems used on all our servers regardless of their geographical location.
As a result, as of Monday, September 28th, the regular bi-weekly server maintenance times will be modified and will take place on Mondays and Fridays from 4:00 AM Pacific Time (7:00 AM Eastern Time / 12:00 PM British Time / 13H00 Central European Time) to 6:00 AM Pacific Time (9:00 AM Eastern Time / 2:00 PM British Time / 15H00 Central European Time).
We understand that this may conflict with gameplay times for some of our players and apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you. We have tried to find a suitable time to minimize the impact on the gameplay experience of a majority of our players but with our player communities scattered across various time zones, you can probably appreciate that this is no easy task.
We thank you for your patience and understanding with this matter. -
Robin will be happy to take an Alt spot as well.

Quote:This. Were you recently in Cimerora? Cimerora tends to cause compass enlargement. Logging is the only guaranteed way i know to remove it when it happens.
Cimerora has a custom Compass and for some reason it can glitch when it switches. Then again, I've had it change when I wasn't even in Cimerora.. so I dunno.
As mentioned, zoning or relogging may fix it. -
Quote:Same thing that happens to me, but I have a small workaround that doesn't require "manually entering all that text".The forum very rarely lets me respond to PMs properly. Most of the time when I click the Reply button I just get a blank new PM page. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, it'll properly set up a reply with the subject line, recipient, and PM I'm replying to in the proper field and correctly mark the PM as replied to, but usually I have to fake it by manually entering all that text. And today it said a PM I was trying to respond to was invalid. What's the deal, forums?
When you are viewing a PM, the url has a message number:
pmid=1234567 (for example)
When you hit reply, it sometimes shows up blank, (or changes the number to something invalid):
pmid=
When that happens, simply hit BACK and get the number, then hit FORWARD and enter that number into the end of the reply url, and the message will be filled in for you. -
Quote:A sound that constantly replays is still a looping sound, regardless of the mechanic that's causing it. Point is, it shouldn't play at that point anyway. My 50 Scrapper has this issue and I know why. Open up Powers/Combat Attributes/Defense and make sure your sound is on. Then approach a baddie that cons grey and just stand next to it. I did this with a CoT Demon 5 levels under me.
The numbers in the defense window will go up and down, giving and then taking away the defense bonus. Each time this happens, it activates another instance of the sound. The sound is NOT looping.
And if you stand there long enough, each instance of the sound eats up more memory. until you run out of memory and the game has a hard crash.
DO NOT run a TF/SF with Invinc on or you WILL DC. Even if there are pauses between groups of baddies, the memory has been "eaten". It took me 12 minutes standing in front of the Demon before the game hard crashed.
I just ran Lady Grey's TF and half-way thru, the lag had built up somethin' fierce. I turned off the Invinc and the lag cleared up.
Then 2 mins out of the TF, while hanging in air (cuz i was getting a soda refill) the game hard crashed.
You're Welcome =)
Replaying the sound does not eat up memory... at least it doesn't for me. My Main#2 is an Invul tank and I've been using her constantly without any crashing issues or crazy memory problems. -

Quote:I was going to suggest this too, but the OP said:You can also burn your directory onto a DVD or several CDs (the piggs folder alone is almost 3GB) and just copy it onto the new computer from the media. You'll have to do some finagling to "install" it (copy CohUpdater.exe to your desktop, run THAT copy, and tell it to install into your INSTALLATION directory), but you won't have to download anything.
Somebody has a guide to doing this, but I'm too lazy to look for itand someone else will come along with a link anyway!
Quote:My primary computer is in the shop and will be for a while
On a side note, I prefer using a Flash Drive. It's much faster and easier than using the CD/DVD method, and you can just overwrite it when a new version comes out as well. I also back up the coh registry on it as well so it remembers my video preferences for reinstalls to the same system. -
The Cimerorans turned into Christmas gifts, and the Nictus are American flags? That's certainly a new one. rofl
Needless to say.. when you are done playing around, re-verify the game files. -
Only a guess for now, but with only 2gb ram, and all that stuff running in the background, she's probably running out of memory. I'd start hacking away at most of those processes and try to clean things up a little before trying it again.

That's the exact idea I was talking about with the bind files... but you don't actually need hardware to do it. Any other regular macro software can do it too... but then you run into dangerous territory about whether or not you are breaking the rules by using a "third party program" to control the game.

The NA and EU boards merged recently, and anybody with identical names on each board were tagged with an extension designating where they were from.
The new boards don't have the option to change your name, but they announced the ability to submit name changes to them a while back. I'm guessing it'd still be available. Give it a shot! Good luck!
It's "Change your Forum handle" time! -
Quote:Aha.. official terms.. I should have looked at that. lolCorrection on this for my earlier post:
http://us.ncsoft.com/en/legal/archit...rds-terms.html
Details:
Either way, you still can't submit somebody else's arc cause you don't have their e-mail and account information. -
E, you might want to reconsider bringing Mr E-Villain for tonight.. Invincibility is bugged as of today's patch.
The sound that normally plays when the power is first toggled on, instead loops repeatedly every time there are foes in range to give you the extra buff. It's VERY annoying.
I can tolerate it.. but I wanted to let you know ahead of time. -
Yes. I heard about it, and finally ran into it myself during Respec Trial we had the other night. We had 3 or 4 teams running, and at least 2 teams had that bugged mission door, and we had to start the Trial over. (No sense bothering support for a quick reset like that.)

I am getting the same thing on my Tank, but it seems to be glitchy. I had to play around with it to get it to work the way you describe.
It worked just fine when I logged into Warburg. I had to go to Kings Row and toggle it on again to notice the problem you described. Maybe it's cause I was EX'd? Seems silly. I went back to Warburg again and it still doesn't happen. -
Quote:Fixed... and *runsEdit: The Tier 9 in the Hormonal Rage set is "Instant Death to All Nearby Allies" and the Tier 9 in the Stress Armor set is "Mental Breakdown". You get a +50% buff to all powers, followed by a 5 minute period of not being able to do a darn thing.

Side note:
Some people create a pseudo-auto power by binding the power to a movement key as well.
For example:
/bind W "+forward$$powexecname Build Up"
That way, you can still have Hasten on Auto, while Build Up will still go off by itself as well every time it's recharged when you move forward. That's a second power you wont have to really worry about.
For this specific case, that bind can be useful when the team is buffing up before a big mob. As soon as you move forward to approach the mob, your Build Up (or Moment of Glory) will activate by itself, saving you a little bit of effort.
I've seen some people use Hasten on the forward key while their other favorite power like an AOE heal uses the real auto.
(And no, I don't condone the use of an auto-heal, nor do I think auto-buildup is really necessary... and don't actually use this bind trick, but have seen others mention it, so figured I should include it in the discussion in case somebody else thought it would be worthwhile for them to try.)
If you got really creative, you could even create bind files that load and reload every time you press forward so it sets off a different power each time you move forward. Then you can have an unlimited number of powers attached to it. -

Quote:Further testing is showing me that the "dialogyes" is what's crashing it for me.Just tried that, and it totally crashed the CoH application out. Interesting. Mileage seems to vary widely in regard to using this bind.
Crashed me:
/bind F7 "buycoh$$dialogyes"
Aggelakis' separate binds crashed me as soon as I pressed P:
/bind o buycoh
/bind p dialogyes
I even tried just tying it in the chat, and it still crashed me:
/buycoh
/dialogyes
The only time I got to a successful login screen was by manually clicking YES. -

Quote:Right. I'd guess that they want you to send them the original text file of the arc, not just an ArcID.I think only the author can submit an arc:
Players can submit their completed arcs (in English) any time before 11:59 Central Time on October 11th, 2009 by emailing them to: CoH_ArchitectAwards@paragonstudios.com. -
Quote:Thirty: You can use to display code directly.
