Quote:I have a similar bind for my Teleport powers, but I handle it a little differently.I use a series of binds for form-switching. For example, my WS has the following:
NUMPAD1 "powexecname Dark Nova$$gototray 1$$powexecauto Shadow Bolt$$powexecname Sprint"
NUMPAD2 "powexecname Dark Nova$$gototray 2$$powexecauto Dark Nova Bolt"
NUMPAD3 "powexecname Black Dwarf$$gototray 3$$powexecauto Black Dwarf Strike$$bind_load_file C:\Binds\bdwarf.txt"
bdwarf.txt just has this:
NUMPAD1 "powexecname Black Dwarf$$gototray 1$$powexecauto Shadow Bolt$$powexecname Sprint$$$$bind_load_file C:\Binds\bhuman.txt"
BUTTON5 "powexec_name Black Dwarf Step"
I press Numpad1 to go back to Human, and the front thumb button on my mouse becomes my teleport key.
bhuman.txt:
NUMPAD1 "powexecname Dark Nova$$gototray 1$$powexecauto Shadow Bolt$$powexecname Sprint"
BUTTON5 "powexec_name Shadow Step"
I have the self-teleport in the same position in the corresponding form's tray, and I simply use:
/bind KEY poewxec_slot #
Then when I use the gototray command, there is no need to rebind the key. The key always uses the correct power, providing I'm on the correct tray. -
lvl 39-41 I think. It was the sewer trial that was changed/fixed when the contact was relocated, but the Eden trial still needs somebody within that range.
-
I use Warburg, strictly because I do have those tier9 powers to use to make the whole process much faster. That was the whole point of my first post that detailed the whole process.

Quote:Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's not important or that it shouldn't be fixed, but when a redname says:It doesn't MATTER? The current status is deplorable. We are approaching a duration of MONTHS for this issue. That's the context for these comments.
"We know this is frustrating, and this frustration has been well communicated to the Dev team. We'll communicate with you more on this issue as things progress."
.. you'd think people could give them just a little bit of credit and a little more than 3 days before crying again that "there is no fix in sight!"
Like I said before, it's not like the issue has been untouched for these weeks.. They have acknowledged a problem and tried minor tweaks and fixes to at least make it a little better until a "real" fix is released. -
Quote:That doesn't matter. The comment reflects the current status of the problem. Complaining again 3 days later seems a bit soon. lolAnd the redname comment was how many WEEKS after the problem began?
On a side note, I also was getting sick of running my TFs on Heroic and started bumping them up, only to have the feature not work correctly with the new system. I'm bummed about it too, and can't wait for a fix to come either (as explained in my previous post), but I don't expect it NAO! -
Quote:This thread was created on November 23rd, and a Redname responded to you within 4 hours, explaining the complexity of the situation. If a new fix was almost done, the Redname comment probably would have reflected that.
That was less than 3 days ago. It's probably going to take a lot longer than that. lol
Yes, the issue has existed before you created your thread, and while you may not see a solution in sight, it's been tweaked a few times since the issue first started... probably to get feedback on how the slight changes are affecting the TFs and if they are working as intended so a larger fix can safely be put together later.
Since TF difficulty is on a separate scale.. I'd personally like to see it as a simple dropdown menu on the TF challenge screen. Then the leader's status wont matter anyway. Actually, it would be neat to see the old working Heroic->Invincible options there for TFs, and then they wouldn't have to try to reprogram TFs to accept the new options.Quote:Why don't you READ before you LOL?
When THIS thread was started is irrelevant.
This problem has been around a lot longer than 3 days and you know it.
It was 3 days since the Redname comment. Like I said, if the fix was close at that time, he probaly would have said so. Has nobody any patience? -
Quote:It depends how fast you can relog and go through this whole process. Using 5 toons, I found myself about 15-20 seconds shy of receiving credit for the first toon once I cycle through.. I think this is mostly because my pvp timer and the logout timer are overlapping and it only takes 1 shot to kill my target. That, and I was using 2 computers, which makes relogging on one of them very quick. I can usually cycle each toon within 45-60 seconds, which is why I suggested 6 in my first post, so you'd be sure to exceed the 5 minute timer.P.S. Why 6 toons? The PvP timer is only 5 minutes and with the time to kill and the log-out time and the PvP zone timer, you won't need 6 toons to cycle through if you're doing this alone. I haven't timed it, but I would estimate 3 toons would be enough.
If you are waiting until you are dead to relog the toon, then it's going to almost double the amount of time it takes overall... but actually, if you are only using one computer, then you don't have much choice, and then you are right that fewer toons would be needed.
YMMV -
Quote:When I first did this on my main badge a long time ago, you did indeed appear where you died when you logged back in, and I used to have to hit the hospital button and run back outside (or use an awaken). If I'm not mistaken, some of the "recent" PvP chances make you automatically rez after a certain amount of time being dead in PvP zones. You can't just sit dead forever and wait for a safe time to rez or anything like that. After a couple of minutes, it automatically sends you to the hospital, so by the time you log back in, that's where you'll end up now.well i wasn't thinking of loging out while rezing, but the last time i was in pvp before the changes i was left where i was drop as far as i remember but i can see your point about the timer anyways i forgot about that
Quote:Its not so much cutting travel time, as it is cutting visibility. If someone sees you doing this they can easily disrupt you. If you find a hidden spot out of normal LoS, there is a much lower chance of getting disrupted.
The rare times that somebody does pop up and not want to leave me alone, I simply log out and make sure they see me logging out, and they go off and do something else. I use that opportunity to take a bathroom/food break and then come back to a couple more hours of uninterrupted killing. lol. -

Quote:Travel time is not part of the equation because you'd have to wait for the PvP timer after logging in anyway, and you can easily walk outside to the location before it finishes counting down...wouldn't a tray of 20 small awakens speed up the process by cutting out the travel time?
and if you need a refill stock up have a bin in your sg base for easy access and a quick location for them???
Also, it automatically logs you in at the hospital if you logged out dead, so trying to log in at the same spot and using an awaken wouldn't be possible anyway... (at least not before the 5 minute pvp timer expires to receive credit again)... and if you try to use the awaken before you log out, it'd take you twice as long to have to wait before logging out (instead of being killed during the logout process), and you'd have full hp by the time you log back in anyway, making it take longer to kill the next time around and defeating the whole purpose. -
First: Dual*
Second: Reinforcement is earned by defeating 20 PvP targets. They don't necessarily have to be of the opposing faction, even though the badge text kinda implies it... at least that's how it worked last time I did this.
Third: Remember to stay in SG mode while you do this so you earn credit toward your SG badge for PvP kills as well.
You have it right, but here are my extra tips:
I like to use Warburg cause you have your Tier9 powers available to kill your opponents, and also because you can attack both Heroes and Villains there, widening your possible available targets.
(Using a Hero badge toon as an example) To try to avoid anybody ganking you, stand just inside the "safe zone" boundary outside the hospital boat, so in case people come by, you can't be attacked by any Heroes, and you can quickly get back to safe territory if any Villains come by.
The method: (assuming you are dual-boxing with 2 actual computers, not just 2 windows)
- Bring at least 5 (preferably 6 or more if you load fast) Heroes from the other account just outside the "safe zone" boundary.
- To save time, let the toon log off while you are killing it. (if you use the same computer for both instances, the logout process will not continue when you switch windows, making it faster/easier using 2 actual computers)
- Once you cycle through your toons the first time, it gets easier...
- Logging in the first toon again, you'll find that it is now inside the hospital with almost no health. Run outside the boundary and log off again. It's a very short distance, so it should be quick. (SS and/or SJ on these toons is helpful).
- By the time the PvP timer runs out, you'll still have several seconds left to 1-hit kill the low-hp opponent before the logoff completes. (If available, use toons that have lower hp and the least amount of defense/resistance/regeneration).
- Cycle through toons and repeat as needed.
Providing you are able to relog and cycle each toon every 45-60 seconds, it'd take roughly 8 hours of work. When I do this, I usually just do about 2 to 3 hours each day for a couple days. (You'll get 1.00 rep for each kill while not on any team).
Even faster.. is to have a friend or two join you and trade kills from each of your accounts, and even kill each other one in a while. You'll gain extra bounty rep from killing each other because you are killing somebody that has significant rep, instead of just killing 0.00s the whole time.
Then, once you both reach your 400rep, you can team up for the arena healing as well.. giving yourselves more targets, and faster progress. Nowadays, it only takes a few nights for Empath as well. (Again, remember SG mode for SG healing badge credit as well.)
If you are lucky, you might even get a small handful of PvP Recipes as drops and make a bunch of money while doing this too. lol -

Both. The last copy I could have given away I actually used myself to open a secondary account, and that has access to both sides just the same.. and yes, this was after the "merge".

Quote:Yeah it can be hard to see what I'm actually doing when I'm bouncing around all over the place, especially in speed ITFs where she might have been halfway into her "krazy-kitty" mode. haha. Playing like that only works when everybody else is on queue and can handle or avoid the over-agro.you dam vets i dont have one of those. but kewl. well its just i watched your game play alot. i mean how many itfs did we play together. i mean wow we was owning that zone together and i noticed a few things so i will hit you up next time i see you on.

Quote:i R TeH "WTH". lolYour mention of the words "birds" and "confused" in the same sentence somehow triggered a reference in my noggin to this. The video starts off cool, progresses to "wow" then ends up in the Twilight Zone.
I heard that bird was starring in the next Police Academy movie! rofl -
If you are jumping backward, then move forward before the apex of the jump, it does indeed switch to a forward-flip, but it does not work the opposite way. It seems whenever you change direction while in the air, it just defaults to the forward flip, even if you are moving backward at the time.
As for the reverse diagonal animations... Any time you are traveling backward, it animate you moving straight backward, even if you are also moving to the side. This is while walking normally, using sprint, flying, or any other movement powers. The only exceptions I can think of is sometimes if you are strafing to the side, and then press downward, it locks the animation in the side movement instead of the backward movement until you switch to directly backward. The last exception is the new Walk power.. that faces in all 8 directions. -
Yeah, I did the same thing back a few years ago. I had 4 CoV copies up for grabs. I ended up giving them away to good SG members so they could finally access the base (back when you needed CoV to enter a base). lol

Quote:That's not a problem. Just give me a shout whenever you want to do something.Hehe. well i was using my other tank and i have barely played him. my battle axe willpower. so it was a different feel. but i would love to ask you a few things and maybe enter the farm map while i am on my kin and u on ur tank and u can show me how u move to make the axe attacks more affective.
As for making the Axe attacks more effective... the point is you're not a Scrapper, you're a Tanker. Unless you are solo, the attacks don't really matter much. Once you get the agro under control, you can work on fitting a few more attacks in and make the most of the damage you have available, but until then, it's mainly looking around to see what foes are not facing you or going after a teammate, and attacking or taunting those foes.. and adjusting the mob size depending on what your team can handle. The Axe attacks do have some nice Knockdown also, so setting off your AoE and knocking down some foes while attacking other ones can really help.
Even throwing a quick nemesis staff at one in the distance can be very helpful because it causes damage, the foe gets knocked down helpless for a couple seconds, and draws their attention back to you at the same time. -

Quote:Nah. I've just been visiting this forum too long. lolWow, thanks for the swift reply. You must be psychic getting that almost spot on.
Question come and go and I'm sure I've looked it up before, which is why I knew where to find the source so quickly as well.
Quote:So if I wanted to use a third party retailer, would I be able to buy the Booster Packs from them? I know I can get copies of CoX from external sources but I didn't think the packs could be bought anywhere else other than the NCSoft online store. I should state I'm an EU player as well.
It'd be a bit of a shame if they can't be as I was counting on them to make a good gift for a few friends this Yule.
When buying things from the game's online store, it's automatically linked to your account when you buy it. You aren't even given the full product key until after you apply it to one of your game accounts and they send you the confirmation e-mail for your records.
Like I said, I'm not sure how any of the booster items would be available through another source, but I suppose it might be possible. One thing you might try instead is getting them visa gift cards or something so they can buy the code themselves. -
-
Only way to give somebody else a code is if you buy it from a 3rd party retailer. All codes bought at the NC soft store will belong only to the account that purchased them, and are nontransferrable.
Edit:
NCSoft Support - Online Purchases as GiftsQuote:Is it weird that I was almost word for word with my description before I looked it up? lolPurchases made online from us can only be used on the account where the purchase was made. As such, it is not possible to purchase serial codes or access keys for friends. We can recommend purchasing copies directly from a local or online retailer, which can be given as a gift. -
I thought they fixed it recently. It was affecting many "temp" summon powers, including the Shivans and even the Ouro portal.
I guess they missed something?
Edit:
Quote:Yeah, I guess if it's still doing it with Amy this week, they might not have realized it sometimes happens with other summon powers too.Originally Posted by Patch Notes for the Live Servers - 11/12/2009The Shivan Shard temp power now works correctly while exemplared.
