    No, and then yes.
I don't believe he said anything about moving money from one server to another. You might have been distracted by his Sig that asks for Cross-server PvP. That's unrelated.

Also, while it might cost money to actually move a character with money from one server to another, it doesn't cost any money to simply create a toon on another server.. which many people do every day. When I started my first toon on a new server, somebody was nice enough to give me some starting cash, and I returned the favor by giving them some for their new toon on my home server. Also, I've seen people advertise that they are about to do a server transfer anyway, and ask if anybody wants them to mule some stuff over for them. There are certainly people willing to do it.

On a side note, I did see it posted somewhere that asking for cross-server trades was against the rules...

#11 You may not advertise the intent to or commit the act of buying or selling items for cash or trading items from one server to another.
..but it's debatable whether or not it means charging somebody real money to do the trade, or if because of the existing server transfer mechanics, they want you to use the service to make the transfer yourself.. lol There was a thread about this a looong time ago, and I'm unsure if we got any clarification on it. Trading between Hero and Villains are not possible in-game either, but I never saw saw rules about doing it within the same server.

It also ever stopped anybody I knew from doing it. Heck, some people even had cash transfer services that charged X amount of inf to trade your money from one place to another depending on availability.
  2. You can only earn that badge by having the contact yourself and running the arc, or by running the arc through Ouro. For "Talk to/Deivery" missions, only the mission-holder gets the reward. Through Ouro, the entire team would get the badge, but you'd still need to be high enough level to run the Ouro anyway.

Thus, you cannot get the badge at a lower level than designed.. AFAIK.

BTW, there is a [noparse] command that you can use on the forums so that you an show people exact code, rather than using [b][/b] trickery or telling them to add spaces or replace symbols.

Example of the same code exactly as it would be used (copy/paste-friendly):

Also, keep in mind that people who do not have images enabled will only see a link to the thumbnail image, but not the full-size image unless you include text in the link as well, so I recommend doing something like this instead:

  6. This starts in about half an hour, but I'm sorry to say I am headed to sleep.

I was going to try to stay up at least long enough to make sure the team doesn't need the extra body, but I'm already tired, I have to work early tomorrow, and this TF doesn't really need MAX_TEAM_SIZE to be successful... so... I wish you all luck, and I hope you get the badge you are looking for!

  7. The largest possible prize is 2 Billion, as that is the maximum amount of influence any toon can carry.

Unless you plan on splitting the reward to several toons... and/or including recipes/enhancements in the value of your prize... that's about as high as it gets.

As far as how many prizes you give out per contest.. the sum can certainly vary depending on how many different categories you have, how many rounds you have and how many winners you pick for each category/round.

Historically, I don't keep track of what's going on contest-wise, so I don't really have the answer to your question.

This was just two weeks ago.
We ran a Safeguard/Mayhem event just Wednesday night on Freedom for the sole purpose of relogging alts and getting the explorations on whoever needed them. I hosted the mission from one toon, and relogged onto a different toon to get the badge while the team was still in my mission.

Several of us hosted various missions from the 18 total and it worked just fine whenever any of us relogged onto alts, regardless of which toon was actually hosting the mission. I'm not sure what happened in your case.

To be clear for the OP: When there are no players in a mission, the mission will only open if the mission owner is still on the team... even if it still shows up as the active mission. A "filler" character holding the mission for you must be ON the map when you log off, or the mission will no longer be valid when you try to enter the door.

Side note: Once we completed the Safeguard mission, my lower-lvl toon that actually hosted the mission still got the Temporary Power, even though it was logged off. The higher-lvl toon I was on when we finished it got it as well.

I agree, but I've run into strange results in some of my bind files.

Recently, when loading bind files, the bind did not work correctly after being reloaded from the file...

Example: (only part of a larger file)
    Code:
    ADD optionset disabledrag 1
    SUBTRACT "optionset disabledrag 0"
This used to work fine before, but recently, after loading the file, the (-) key enables me to move powers in my tray again, but the (+) key no longer locks them in place again.
Instead, I get an error message: "Unknown command: optionset disabledrag 1"

I put the "" around it like SUBTRACT has and reloaded the file again, an it worked fine again. I don't know why the quotes were missing to begin with. It was the only key in the file that was missing them. I've been using the same file for over a year now without issue. I don't know why that key suddenly stopped working. Everything else in the file worked as expected.

That said, now I always make a habit of using the "" no matter what. lol

As mentioned, the pact member doesn't always seem to show up in the Level Pact window anymore, but as long as that window still shows up on your freind list, the pact should still be active... It wouldn't even exist if the pact was broken.

Previous threads regarding broken pacts in the last few weeks eventually showed that the players were still getting XP from their pact member, even though the name wasn't showing up. I think in one case, the reward chat wasn't even showing the pact's XP.. But once they recorded the xp on a toon, then relogged to the other toon and did some missions, they went back and saw an increase in the pact'd toon's XP, showing that the pact was indeed still active and funtioning.

Vahzilok Wasting Disease is indeed the one that awards the Plague Stopper Badge.

  13. /bind f6 "nop"
    /bind f7 "nop"
    /bind f8 "nop"
    /bind f9 "nop"
    /bind f10 "nop"

Note, some people may tell you to "/unbind f6", but that doens't really unbind the key, but unbinds whatever personalized setting you might have had for it and resets it to the default, which will still give you the "Run! spam".

On a side note, using "/unbind f7" is very useful in resetting the "Ready!" back to it's default of green chat bubble without the messy <> code.

Anyway, still not having trouble. I don't know what it was, but after Christmas, I'll likely be in a new system, so it's no big deal.
I'm still guessing that after hours of play and/or being in the populated area caused you to slow down when your memory was filled. If your system runs very clean without anything in the background, you might be just fine.. until it gets clogged up again. Only way to tell is to check how much memory is being utilized during normal play, and IF it ever happens again, check and compare it.

I hope it continues to run clean for you though.
  15. They do give you the full serial number, but only after it's applied to your account. It'll be sent to you in an e-mail once you apply it. Obviously, it doesn't do anybody any good at that point though. lol

    As others have said:

Can I purchase game time or a serial code/access key from the NCsoft Store as a gift for a friend?
    Quote:
Purchases made online from us can only be used on the account where the purchase was made. As such, it is not possible to purchase serial codes or access keys for friends. We can recommend purchasing copies directly from a local or online retailer, which can be given as a gift.
I'm not sure of anywhere that sells the booster packs as retail, so most people suggest giving your friend cash to buy it themselves, or give a VISA gift card or something similar to them so they can use it to purchase the code themselves.

    That's half true, actually..

While Trial accounts cannot be invited to Supergroups, they CAN actually make one of their own at lvl 10.

Its possible to start a trial account, get to lvl 10, create your group, invite all the toons from your main account to it, and be sure to promote and pass leadership to to least one of them.

I have done it before as a test, but I admit it was a long time ago (but still after trial limitations)... so it's possible it may have been changed/fixed since then.

To make it quick and easy, this is what I'd go with anyway. Especially if it's a new group, you have nothing to lose... simply Invite somebody and promote them all the way up to second-highest rank. Relog onto your other toons and have them promote you up to the same rank. Repeat for every toon. Relog onto your " Leader" toon and kick the person helping you (after remembering to thank him/her of course. lol)

Gratz! The next few badges should come along just a easily. I usually left it running while I was at work and sleeping. Using a third account to provide about 13 extra targets on the team as fillers really speeds it long even more. (This account should have fairly active toons on it, or else you might not have enough gladiator badges to do much.)

As for running a second account, even for those who don't have one of their own, it doesn't take much to send yourself a Refer-a-friend code and have access to some free time on another account. You should be finished with Empath before it expires anyway.

    Good luck!

If you get several people interested (at least 4 people on the healing team) and want to try for slightly higher healing output, you can, as he mentioned, have the opposing team attack your group from a distance with Shivans. Their ranged attack is an AOE.

For best setup when running a Shivan farm, have an enemy player--the player, not the pets--jump in the middle of the heal spam. Target this player and type "/petcom_all PASSIVE ATTACK" which will keep them from changing their focus when being damaged. You generally don't want to use more than 1 Shivan for every 2 people on the heal team.

The reasoning behind the Shivan farm is that Longbow Warden 2 pets actually have two healing powers: the AOE they spam, and a single target heal which only gets used when one of their friends is damaged. The AOE spam takes a few seconds in between shots... just enough time to throw off a single target heal as well, giving you appx. 1/8 of the credit for that heal as well.

More heals = more credit = faster badges.
As Ironblade mentioned.. their AI has changed so that tactic is kinda outdated. The Wardens would attack and kill the Shivans if you tried that these days.. even if they are set on Passive.

Best bet is to just AFK it with the enemy out of sight. With the lowered requirement on Empath, it doesn't take more than a couple nights to get it done anyway.. especially with a team of fillers (a character not even going for healing badge with 13 low-value gladiators out). There is no need to try pulling out every point for the minute anymore.

    Empath in 3 days.

Mine was not a scratch code. Mine was was printed on the inside of the disc case. For some reason there was a gold security sticker of some kind covering it. I thought I had been ripped off too, but I was able to peel it off carefully with a razor blade and revealed the code and it worked fine.

Losing the timer challenge should still award you the other challenges.

It's also the arc suggested in High Beam’s Flashback Badging Guide (Hero), so I don't see why it shouldn't work for you, unless they changed the way it works.
