It could be a memory issue or a driver problem as well.
Please run this program and output the results here.

When it finally gets to me.. I'll be sure to include before and after pictures. lol

Quote:Yeah, looks like you are hovering around the freezing point in that area. I'm on the south shore of Boston and it's currently 26, and it's only going to get colder. I'm originally from UpstateNY.. so unlike most people here, I KNOW how to drive in it. It seems they don't budget for snow removal around here like they do in UpstateNY, so the roads are always worse anyway, but when traffic is slow and backed up, I have no choice but to be slower too. hahaWe are 80 miles SE of Philly (southern tip of NJ) & they have 6+ inches on the ground...but, we are on a barrier island, so lots of salt in the air that not only rusts everything, but also keeps snow from sticking to the ground.
It's funny that Philly has 6 inches, you are getting windy rain, but we have no activity at all here. If it wasn't for the slight chill, I'd say it was a nice day.. oh.. but that just means it's coming soon! haha -
lol well there is no snow here at all either, but the storm isn't supposed to be until later.. and it's supposed to hit your area too if I'm not mistaken. I think the weather advisory is until 6am tomorrow... but it's a little warmer there, so you might just get a mix, where it will be full-on snow here for about 18 inches worth. lol

Quote:Not that I have noticed. The "illegal" damage proc from my Taunt set works very well, but the buildup is practically nonexistent... even in a huge mob.. and I've certainly never seen it "stack" either. Even though the damage proc checks each foe individually, I don't think the buildup does.Though I've heard good things about it in Invincibility? Does it gain a chance to go off for each foe maybe?
On a side note, I'm not sure the proc only checks while foes are in range (for this power). I set a timer and the proc still seems to check every 10 seconds, regardless if anybody is in range or not. When I engage foes, sometimes it goes off immediately, an sometimes it's a few seconds into the fight.. but it was always on an exact 10 second interval compared from the previous mobs... even while standing afk for several minutes inbetween.
On the other hand, I have yet to see the Buildup go off while standing afk.. but like i said before, that's almost nonexistent anyway.. so it's not an easy thing to quickly test for. Even a long-term test shows it doesn't seem to fire when "alone", but since any toon that has that power is most likely a melee toon anyway.. having buildup for 5 seconds while nobody s around wouldn't do much good anyway. lol
It's probably true that it doesn't check while not "active", but I believe the 10 second timer is still on an interval from when the power was first toggled on, not on an interval from when it became active. If it worked the other way around, you could jump up and down in the mob repeatedly until it went off, and bypass the 10s timer repeatedly. That, and the mechanic of Invincibility refreshing itself every couple of seconds would make it "overpowered" if it worked any other way. -
With a quad-core processor, there is almost no difference running 2 instances than it is running only 1... as long as you have the available ram as well. Once you get into 3 or more instances, performance usually starts to degrade. It can be helpful to use the slash command "/maxinactivefps 2" in each instance. It will gear down the inactive windows and greatly help performance on your active window.
Quote:You don't even really have to be logged in. Simply getting to the login screen before loading the next instance is enough. The client itself can be run more than once.. it's the updater program that can't have more than one copy open at a time. Once it's closed, and the client starts loading, you can open another one.You dont need the game installed twice, just get on account all the way logged in, before switching.
That said, you can bypass the updater altogether and load as many instances as you like simultaneously by using the following shortcut (assuming default installation directory):
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh
To make it even easier, you can even combine all your multi-box preferences right into the command line as well:
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh -fullscreen 0 -maxinactivefps 2 -
I think ever since badges were created it was evident that each badge has a different name for each side, and that eventual side switching would change the name of the badge. That being the case, it wouldn't make sense to hide them.

I'm taking a chance here..
There is a Blizzard warning tonight and we're planning to go see Avatar 3d at around 630.. It's about 3 hours long (including previews) and the place is about half an hour away (normally).
Hopfully the snow/traffic isn't very bad. I should still be here right on time, but since this is multi-mission, don't worry about waiting for me if I'm late and I'll jump in when I get here. -
Quote:LoLThe best time to add SG members is on Thursdays between the hours of 1pm and 10pm Greenwich time.
But seriously.. you can add members to a group any time. You'll probably get a larger response once you get a med bay and teleporters set up, but if you get some friends together and can get a coalition with a group that already has teleporters, it can really help a new group get off the ground until you can afford your own. -
2000 days is about five and a half years... which is almost as old as the game itself.... I don't know when SGs were first established.. but I'll let somebody else do the math on that one. It sounds like somebody would have had to join an SG on the first day and then never use that toon again to reach 2000. lol
-
Well, RF2009 is not even switching channels until it's full anyway, so it doesn't matter much that the "future" names were reserved by other people. lol

Oh.. yep. I have not made any new toons recently. My lowest Hero is my PB at 25. I had wanted to lvl up my Khelds and Stone tank during the last run, but I didn't always lvl up high enough.. but now with the SSK thing, I will be able to bring any of them along and still get XP and be in range of the next ones for sure. I want to try to max out some of my old toons before I create any more. The first toon I ever created is still only lvl 35 or so. lol

You guys are missing something...
I'll give you 10 Virtual bacon cheeseburgers! lol -

Quote:If the line breaks are at the beginning of the bio, you should still be able to click and insert characters to the beginning of the text, and then use the same trick to delete them. If you still can't get it to work, I'm sorry.Well, that worked for a couple of characters that had the issue in the middle of their text box. The one I really wanted to work on though has the bug at the start of the text box thanks to earlier attempts to edit things. THAT didn't fix with this trick.

Personally.. I had only my Hero badge hunter for a long time.. but then recently I decided to make a second one.. and it didn't take much time or effort to get most of them a second time.
Then I decided to finally make a Villain badger too. I haven't done much with her yet, but I think that's because most of the PiTA badges would be more easier to come by once I have access to Heroside.
That said.. it's probably worth waiting to see how GR actually impacts the badges first before deciding, and after that it's just personal preference. Some people people just have 1 badge hunter, some don't care for badges at all.. some just go for accolades.. others try to get everything on all their characters. Me.. I'll most likely keep badging on the same 3 I already have.. and maybe even add a 4th one if I feel the need.
I don't see a point in throwing away or stopping on a character just because they may end up with the same badges.. I mean.. it doesn't usually take significantly longer to get new badges on 2 characters than it does on only one. And for all we know, even if both sides may have access to mostly similar badges, there might still be minor differences that may make it worth it to some people to still hunt from "both sides", or even a 3rd, depending on if Praets are any different as well.
On a side note, I gave up on bug hunter a long time ago. I report stuff all the time and am an active member in the tech area of these boards, but it doesn't seem to matter much. That, combined with the fact that I'll always be behind by 2 years of anniversary and veteran badges.. means one more badge doesn't make a difference. lol -
You should be able to put a Standard Taunt IO in the power, but not a named IO Set. They just recently took the ability away from Invincibility (Invulnerability Powerset) as well.
You can see what enhancements a power will allow by mousing over the power name in the Enhancement Management screen. Standard Enhancements, and IO Sets will show up in separate categories. You will see Taunt as an allowed Enhancement, but Taunt sets are not allowed.
On a side note, my tank slotted [Perfect Zinger: 20% Chance for Psionic Damage] into it before the change, and the proc fired onto the foes normally. I also have a BuildUp proc from a ToHit set in the same power, and that fires normally as well. I am not sure which procs caused a problem or why they removed the ability to slot the Taunt Sets. I love mine.
Luckily for me, the set and bonuses still work just fine even after the change was implemented... as long as I don't respec that build. haha. I also have 2 other items in that set, which gives me the 2.75% Fear duration reduction and 10% Regeneration bonuses from the set. -

Quote:That doesn't sound bad, but I wouldn't worry about it much for now. If we know a storm is coming or if I know that something else might prevent me from being around, I'll let you know, and we can make those preparations ahead of time.Maybe we can designate a "second in command" for you team MB? Someone who can get the team gathered up and ready for you to take charge if you are runnning late? If you like this idea, let me know, I've got one of your regulars in mind.
That said, my girlfriend is thinking of staying an extra day with the family on Christmas weekend, so the 3rd Respec on Dec 28th might not be looking so good for me.. depending on the schedule. I still don't know what our(her) plans are for that whole week, so it might be a good idea for somebody to take over the second team for that night anyway.. just in case.
For all I know, I might still have internet access.. but even if that's the case, I'd have my crappy laptop, so I wouldn't be able to do much more than hang out in the forum here anyway... and if I end up being home, then I'll let you know, and you can just put me on a team somewhere. lol -
LoL I forgot how many mission badges there actually were. Most of them should be quick and easy though.
I'm in.. I was thinking of bringing Nurse Smurfette (Emp/Rad Defender), but we already have a couple Defenders and it isn't important who I bring anyway, so I'll pick Midnight Meow (NRG/NRG Blaster) instead.
As always, I'm willing to switch for the needs of the team as well. Tabby is always on the table. FWIW, she was created with resistance at early levels, so while she may not have any attacks, tanking shouldn't be a problem if needed. (Veteran attacks FTW! lol) -
Quote:Nobody can accommodate everybody and nobody is expecting you to move your own schedule around to make sure everybody else is happy. You do a lot of work to organize these teams every week and we all appreciate it. Your happiness is important as well, and we certainly don't want to lose you and Grim/Play.So what do you guys want to do. At this point, I don't really care one way or the other. So what will it be?
We all have different schedules and personal things that get in the way of starting at one time or another. I know that many things factored into the current starting time, and most of us agreed that it was a decent time to start. Yes, I just said that I wouldn't mind moving to 10:30pm, but I don't mind sticking to our agreed time of 10pm either. It honestly shouldn't be a problem.
That just means that I'll have to take extra steps to make sure that the winter weather doesn't slow me down at the end of work, which isn't a big deal. Most days, I'm sure it wont be a problem anyway.. and on those rare Monday snowstorms, I should easily be able to leave a few minutes earlier and/or use my last break to go outside and start making sure I can get my car out quicker once it's time to leave.
Getting here on time is my own responsibility, and if it became a problem, I'd expect to be replaced as a team leader... not have the whole group change their schedule because of me. We've been going strong for 10 months already and there isn't really any good reason for us to change things now. -
Quote:On that same note, I wouldn't mind if we bumped it to about 10:30p... With winter starting to hit, it might take me longer to get home after work, and I barely make it on time sometimes as it is. lolI sincerely wish I could be a perma-signup for your crew. You run a fun show. Sadly, it's too early for me to commit to automatically. I'll resign myself to being an alt signup only if I happen to be around, but if you time shift to a bit later some day, I may revisit that.
It's a great thing you do, Luna. I'm very happy that you're out there, rollin' it up every week. My hat's ever off to you and the Horde. -
Quote:Side note.. If you click the gift as soon as it appears (or use /targetcutomnext), you should be able use the dropdown Actions menu off your targeting window to "Interact" with it and avoid the Ouro portals.AND ANOTHER THING CAN PEOPLE STOP PUTTING ORO PORTALS AROUND THE LW PRESENT!!!
Then again.. I never have that problem and never tried it, but it's worth a shot. lol
