Quote:Different objects have a different draw distance, yes.. but this problem seems to be dependent on camera position, not distance. From the hallway, you can see the objects in the room just fine, but as you move closer and the camera starts to reach the doorway, the objects suddenly disappear (not fade), then reappear when you fully enter the room. Then when the camera seems to be "rubbing" against the ceiling or walls, there is a clipping effect of some sort that makes some of those textures disappear a well. You can see this outside of mishes as well - e.g. in Talos as you head back to the main area from the DA entrance some of the rock outcrops disappear until you get closer. Other objects further away are still visible.
I assume this is to do with the visibility distance settings and is done to reduce load on the GPU
There are areas of the "new" Hollows that do/did this as well, and you can see this effect by peering through the holes (invisible textures) in the bridge/tower railings of Cimerora also. -

Try verifying files too then. Maybe each type of arrow is a different texture and one of them is simply corrupt or missing?

If the microsoft thing still isn't working, re-check the game settings again. There are 2 options to check on in the Controls section.
First is Mouse Scroll > Enabled
Second, Mouse Scroll Speed, is most commonly accidentally set at "1" for some reason, so just raise it to like 20 or more, or else it will look like it's not even scrolling at all, even though it is really scrolling like 1 pixel at a time. I've had this value reset on me for seemingly no reason at times... so it might be worth double-checking again after. -
I never had a problem with any of "you". Never had a problem playing together in the past. Always seem to be nice people and good players. If the channel was called anything else, it'd be a completely different situation. If anything, it wouldn't be a "situation" at all, and associating "RF" with it probably just drags down something that has the potential to be even bigger and better, and this type of showboating doesn't help... as a private channel, there isn't anything to gain from it anyway.
I am not part of any "Radio Freedom vs Freedom Events" battles or anything like that, and I just find it easier to be part of both and join in when something interesting happens. I have my own channels to tend to anyway. I guess if it makes channel "leaders" happy to fight over where people should chat or organize their events.. then I suppose that's what's going to happen, and that's what ruins channels to begin with.
I guess what I'm saying is I don't understand all the fuss. All people want is a place to hang out and have fun with their spare time. I'm not saying you all didn't have fun at your events, but why turn that positive thing into a battle over whose chat might be better by making threads/posts like this? It just creates a negative image and stirs problems that should have died off last year or the year before. lol -
Yes, I re-read, edit and move things... and added the second quote after I saw the extra post. If you research my post history, you'll probably find that on most of them. There is nothing special about this situation. You don't even have a version of the story, cause you weren't even the one involved, and if it makes YOU feel better to think that nobody would ever reject "you".. well then you don't even have a clue what I'm talking about to begin with.

Quote:"informal invite" != a sent invitation. A conversation in rf2009 a few weeks ago led to a private tell sent in my direction. The person may not have even been a mod, but they told me they were in that channel and made it sound like if I was interested, that I could be too, but I stopped the person before it went any further and let them know i had NO interest in getting involved in the whole nonsense.huh? Thats weird. The moderator was on taday an' was tellin me that everyone he invited joined. I don't rememba yer name bein mention. Eh, lies go on I guess.
You may think it's a lie. That's fine. I have nothing to gain from lying and it makes no difference to me. I already have integrity and respect from anybody who matters anyway.
I know this person was/is in the channel. I know you are each good friends with this person. As for the Mod not knowing me, I've even teamed with you all and been in your TS room on more than one occasion... not that it matters either way. Just sayin. -
Quote:Other channels were formed weeks ago, if not months. Some of us even had our own channel at the beginning of last year. I don't know too many people who really took rf2009 seriously after Thanksgiving anyway. If you think rf2009 JUST died, then you haven't been paying attention. lolMore channels were formed. And then my ultimate goal was achieved.
rf2009 was declared dead.
As for taking credit for it's demise.. just the idea behind that lacks class, and the idea behind rf2010 to begin with lacks any creativity. I know you have all waited since last year to do something like this, but was it even worth it? Many of us moved on to bigger and better things ages ago, and advertising "stunts" like this isn't going to bring much respect toward rf2010 or the people involved either.
I was given an informal invite to rf2010 a while back, and I told that person exactly what I thought about the whole thing, and declined. I don't feel like I missed out on anything. Life goes on. -
Not for nothing, but that comment just screams, "let the drama begin!", regardless if it be within the channel or not.
On a side note, the half dozen other active channels I belong to have been drama-free for much longer than that. lol -
Quote:This. They've been there for a while now. They aren't very widespread at all, and unfortunately do not count for the Isolator badge.
There are a few Infected in Atlas, (and Galaxy according to Wiki) and they do not count towards Isolator, which is for killing Contaminated, a similar, yet different group. The foes you see on Mercy Isle are also Infected, not Contaminated. -
I belong to a group called the Freedom Horde.
We started last year with a Weekly TF every Monday night, with the intent of running the same toons up to lvl 50 through all the Hero-side TFs. We are now starting our 3rd run through the TFs as of last week (with a 3rd set of toons) and also run a couple other events every week, including things on Villain-side.
We're not an SG or Coalition of any kind, and you can usually see our threads listed on the forums here, but you can also check out our social group for a thread containing the links to most of our event threads (since the new forums). The Social group currently contains 55 members, but that does not necessarily mean all 55 are active, nor does it mean we don't have "regulars" that don't actually use the social group part of the forum. Anybody is certainly welcome to sign up for events we list on the forums, and we do have our own Global channel we use to coordinate the events and teams.
Freedom Horde Social Group:
( Weekly Events led by Luna de Nocturne, Master-Blade, Mr E-Man, Myrdinn, and Ginko! )
As for coming together as a larger community... it could be kinda hard, because I think the reason that many of us form "smaller niche communities" like this is the time of day that each of us are available. For example, there are many of you over in the other channels that I love playing with, but never really get to team with much anymore because my schedule has changed. Luckily, there are a few of you that host stuff that I can occasionally be a part of, and there is a large group of people that play when I get home from work and we were able to put together these other weekly events.
In either case, I'd be interested in anything you've got going on.. (as long as I am available at the time. lol) -
I think the downfall here was the Hami raid going on at the same time. Many players that would have normally joined in with us were over in The Hive instead. Because of the lower amount of players, we did struggle a bit more than usual, but we were still successful, still had a blast, and still got a nice handful of those merits!

I'm not sure if this still works, but here is the post about changing your forum name on this "new" forum:
News: It's "Change your Forum handle" time!
Discussion thread
It looks like somebody had luck with this process just last month, so maybe they still check that e-mail once in a while.
It's worth a shot anyway. -
Quote:The other group near the start is just a key for the Jail. IIRC, the Jail shows up on the map anyway, so it doesn't give you an extra waypoint to follow like the other keys do.You are a lifesaver, at first i thought it was all off, then i realized the scale was what was off. THe arson key is exactly where the map shows, although it is easier to say just head straight up the street towards the bank entrance, but stop after one block, beat the crap outta the knives at the city info terminal, and go do the arson. THere is still one group of knives that say they give a ke and don't (the other group near the start point). But all i wanna do is arsons. So, thank you. Plan intact, I badge once more.
Also, if you die, you'll end up in the jail and wont need a key for it, so you wont get one when you kill the mob either. -
Well I actually have a villain i recently made into a badge hunter and have been doing the same as you, so I was only like 1 mission away from another bank mish when I saw your post.
I ran in, got a couple side missions that I needed, and now I'm doing some more newspapers. lol -
I ran this after I posted, and all keys and doors were still exactly where that map describes them to be.
Check down the alleyway. Sometimes a stray foe linked to a key will be hiding around the corner.
What server are you on? Maybe somebody could help you. -
-
I have the perfect town for you to retire to.. Gratz!
The funny thing is.. you might have more badges than they have population. haha -
-
I guess I'll finally add to this list.. (though I don't remember exactly when they dinged)
Heroes (in the order they hit 50):
Master-Blade : Katana / Regen (Scrapper)
Teal Tabby : Invulnerability / Axe (Tank)
Bonfires : Fire / Kinetics (Controller)
Nurse Smurfette : Empathy / Rad (Def)
Midnight Meow : Energy / Energy (Blaster)
PPD Hardsuit : Rifle / Devices (Blaster)
Phanta-Rad : Ill / Rad (Controller)
Villains (in the order they hit 50):
Master-Blades : DB / Willpower (Stalker)
Robin Rogue : Dark / Kinetics (Corruptor)
Longbow Spy-duh : Night Widow (Widow)
I'm not sure who the next one will be... my next highest is lvl 36 on each side, and I don't play either of those toons. lol
I guess my next 50 will probably end up being my first one on another server. haha -
Quote:With more than one account, I believe you can transfer it to whomever you want, but... when you leave a group, the leadership is transferred to the toon who has been in the sg the longest (earliest join date).. and also has logged in within the amount of days set by your sg options. That sparked another question. In my Solo SG, if I transfer my super leader to another server what will happen to the super leader position? does it go to the last toon logged in or next highest toon?
Can I transfer it to the one I want?
Example:
Character A joined Jan 1, 2009 and has not logged in for 90 days
Character B joined Feb 1, 2009 and has not logged in for 31 days
Character C joined Mar 1, 2009 and has not logged in for 25 days
Character D joined Jan 1, 2010 and has not logged in for 5 days
If the SG setting is at the maximum of 45 days, then Character B will be super leader.
If the SG setting is at 30 days, then Character C will be super leader.
If the SG setting is at the minimum of 15 days, then Character D will be super leader, even though it's the newest member. If Character D left the SG, then nobody is within the 15 days, and Leadership would go to the next toon that logs in.
