Reasons why devs might be silent on an issue:

1) We didn't see the issue. There are a lot of threads out there.
2) We are in the middle of looking at an issue, and saying anything at the time might be invalidated. Even something like "we are looking into it" can be read as "we are going to change it" if we look at it and find it to be fine, we would get blasted for not changing it when we said we would.
3) The answer is already being given by a lot of players already
4) The answer is obvious (and thus will eventually be given out by a lot of players, see #3).
5) It involves talking about stuff we can't/shouldn't be talking about.
6) The question is a "when" question. We rarely answer these, because even when we put disclaimers on it, our answer becomes taken as gospel, and if we fail to deliver, we look bad.

There's a secret 7th reason that I am not going to give you because of reason #7.

I'm trying to work on a story I'm writing while I eat, and these 3 guys sit down at the table next to me. soooooo... you go to a MMO forum to complain about people talking about another MMO by themselves in a restaurant? big freakin deal. me and my buddies used to hang out at perkins all the time because they were open 24 hours and had the "bottomless cup of soda". so we'd be there all night sometimes just talking about geek stuff (like MMOs) because it was a comfortable place to do so. Heck it was tradition that after the LARP everyone would go to perkins for a few hours.

I propose several questions over which you may mull:

1) Why is it okay to make fun of other people that play a different game?

2) Why is it okay to make fun of other people for playing games?

3) Why is it okay to make fun of other people?

The basis of this thread is flaming some people who can't defend themselves. Why are they flameworthy? They enjoy something. That's it.

You are actually openly mocking someone for enjoy something. They just have a different balance than you, and that makes them mock worthy.

Man, I could discuss the Effort Values of Pokemon for three hours without getting bored. I could also weave that same conversation into that state of my nation, the injustice of the people of my culture, the current state of religion across the world, and what my favorite book series is recently, but the last one's easy .

You saw one aspect of their personality, in one moment of it, and you want all of us to join in?

What I would like is a Stan and Lou Policeband Mission.

The mission headline says retrieve the Scarab from the crate. You are then directed to a wherehouse map.

When you get close to the enemy, you just hear an NPC Say "Lou, it isn't going Woo woo woo."

Mission completes not when you open a crate, but when you defeat Stan and Lou.

What do you think?
