I'm just thinking it may be copyright infringement.

I am amazed at my ability to have not thought of that.

I hope the changing of the last name helps.

    Really long hair

Dude, you totally, like, just catharsised all over this thread.

I can't imagine half the things you said being relevant. In the sake of my own post being constructive, I will point out that Sexy Jay has said multiple times that he strongly prefers succinct posts, and I believe you may have just had the exact opposite effect you desired to have with that post.
  3. That's what I was just thinking. As I was just running around trying to gain my bearings on this relatively unused (by me) Archetype, I couldn't help thinking "Gaw, what a dork."
  4. After the new hair styles, a new interest in A Series of Unfortunate Events, and whole lotta "sick of playing my main", I present to you:

    Klaus Baudelaire's darkside.

For those of you that don't know, Klaus is the incredibly nerdy bookworm from A Series of Unfortunate Events who, along with his two sisters, suffers a year of complete misery and woe for what appears to be no justification.

So, I've made a version of him that just gave up trying to be noble in the face of that adversity.

He is a Ninja Blade/Willpower Stalker using a Rusty Blade, a direct homage to Count Olaf's rusty knife that appears in several books.

Any and all feedback would be appreciated. Tell me what you think!

    Notes: <ul type="square">
[*] He is four foot one inch.[*]The character is thirteen at the end of the series, so I tried to strike that look.[*] The appearance is a hybrid of several of my favorite parts of Klaus's wardrobe, including the red bow tie and socks.[*] Klaus's true jacket is deep blue, but I felt more comfortable with the grey theme.[*]This was the closest to Klaus's unusual hair cut in my opinion.[*]The background wallpaper is of the Very Fine Dramatists of the ASOUE movie. Thanks for the advice and comments!

    Really long hair

Source: Jay at the Meet and Greet (chance I may be mistaken who/where said this, but I distinctly remember this)

Why this was said: The Smoke &amp; Mirrors quest involves a certain model with a certain style of clothes that players requested.

The technology that lets things flow and whirl realistically is what gives us capes. Due to technical limitations, Player Characters are forbidden to have 2+ instances of that flowing whirliness on their character at once.

    So we'd have two options:

    1) Long hair instead of capes (I believe that was mentioned here)

    2) Capes that flow and long hair that doesn't. Picture that.

In the gentlest way possible, I'm trying to say that truly long hair will more than likely never happen.
  6. It is an awesome... AWESOME picture, but SpaceNut is correct.
  7. It occurs to me, fellow BSPPers, that mayhaps they don't need to be Pools. Maybe they can just be four or five traits that you pick as you reach levels 10,20,30, 40... not restricted by a specific group, ya know?
  8. I've been tinkering with it, to be sure. I'll see if I can get something banged up over this impending four day vacation. Sorry about the lost steam.

I'm hoping that the Devs have noticed all the momentum that this thread has received.

If I make a new idea, I'll probably make it a new thread that links to this one and notes how many posts were made purely supporting it.

    Thanks for the support!

Cipher, your idea of boosted odds of receiving certain Inspirations is decent in theory, but it falls apart in my mental playtest. How long before the min/maxing? Blasters only getting enrage and accuracy, Masterminds only taking heals and discarding the relatively useless Insights?

The core rule of BSPPs is that they should never be used for "best builds evah". They should be used to suit one's personal preference and affect none of their team mates significantly.

    Keep the conversation going!

this thread has some serious walls of text son

They're called paragraphs dad and they are used to separate out various ideas so they are easier to read. Not every thought can be explained in one single uncapitalised line.

    Burn!

Edit: Okay, I'm better than what I just posted. Allow me to expound:

Sub, Grinnz is clearly reading this thread, otherwise he wouldn't be able to comment. He's just noting the length. It's an innocuous inoffensive comment if you know where he's coming from.

Just wanted to add one thing that often seems unappreciated: ease of targeting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can I add targeting (and combat) not dependent on facing?

That irked the hell out of me - think it was the WoW trial again. "You moved a foot to the left, I can't hit you any more!" Dammit, just turn a little!

    [/ QUOTE ]

This one was big for me playing LOTR Online as well. That game is incredible in so many ways, but as I fought a wolf, I turned the camera to look around me, and my character had suddenly ceased to fight! When I saw the combat warning, I just sat dumbfounded. It felt so primitive to be told that the game couldn't auto-adjust my character, I felt like I was playing Sega Genesis again, forced to complete epic 8 hour games in one run because they hadn't invented the save file yet.

BTW Marcian did you change your avatar?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I'm going to be using Pushing Daisies for a bit.

The trick is, you want more color variety, but the faction you're following is the most cliche villain color set there is: Masses of black and masses of red.

If you like the color variation, work on making the outfit more sleek and smooth. Keep posting the pics! ^_^
  13. Extremely nice concept, and it is a good starting point.

(I have no idea what's a prepositional phrase, subordinate clause, or even core sentence in the above sentence. It is? That works... anyway, on with the posting!)

You use the colors to accentuate her bust a bit. This is not only a pet peeve of mine, but not something Arachnos typically does. Their costumes are typically so monotone that such features don't get special attention.

Also, the outfit has bulky bits, like the jutting kneepads. Arachnos themselves tend to be more sleek and minimalist in their approach.

Again, I like it a bit, but you seem to be looking for critiques.
  14. I don't know if anyone's noticed this yet, but I once rescured Clive LoveKing.

Cliver Barker, H.P. Lovecraft, and Stephen King.

When you go to rescue this person, his captors are shouting at him to stop pitching weird horror story ideas to them.

Another fine issue! Thanks for your work as Editor Marcian, and welcome Dirtwolf.

The only downside to this issue of City Scoop for me was having my quote in the Event Watch misattributed to that evil impostor Killobot5000! *shakes fist* My one shot at fame, dashed upon the rocks of similarity. I'm a sad monkey.

    Just kidding, kinda.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all the City Scoop staffers and readers!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Two Killobots5000's? I always thought you were joking! Whoa. Sorry about that...

(I didn't have anything to do with that specific article, but I'm expressing my sympathies)

    Also, you're welcome.

    Moving Day!

Post about where you are versus where you wanted to be when you were younger. You're in a fairly incredible position by many stand points, but is it where you wanted to be when you were a little Posi? That'd be an interesting read...

I must ask this, who is the foxy lady in the blue shirt in this picture?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You'd be rather put out if I sad "an attendee," wouldn't you? Yes. I thought you would.

Actually, I didn't catch her name. That was taken during one of the whooping and hollering spells, sorry.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Oh I thought she was a Dev or NCSoft person I didn't know about...

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would be Azrhiaz, head of the PVPEC. She shared a table with the City Scoop staff and was meeting with City of Heroes fan. She's incredibly knowledgeable, and I loved comparing my newbie knowledge of PvP with someone "in the know".

She confirmed it: Masterminds in Arena will always be an uphill battle.

Also, under the link to "Impressions of Meet and Greet", you will see Marcian and J-Man! Clearly they are meeting for the first time, as J-Man has never read an issue of the City Scoop and Marcian would never stoop as low as to interact with the J-Force.
  18. Gaaaahhh! My bosses let me read the forums, but they won't let me log in! I've been feeling joy over this thread all day! Thank you all so much for your kind words. I feel very much loved, as well should all of you.
  19. The semi-custom story arc done through a flashback that justifies the character seems to be the most popular idea.
  20. ((Normally I wouldn't cross post, but it really seemed relevant to both threads, and the visitors on both are very likely to be different, so I'm reposting the following here.))

They said a while ago (I tried before, but I can't find the quote) that there is a three part story arc beginning with Issue 10. In the movie trailer, Lor-... Mender Silos says that our feud with the Rikti is the key to a moment that destroys the world.

Also, when he references the end of the world, the camera stops on the Circle of Thorns.

Between these two, I think that if we DO get a zone, it will be about the intersection of those two clues. Say, a Co-Op Task Force in which the Circle of Thorns is attempting to summon a creature to destroy the Rikti, thinking that they'd help us out, but that creature is actually capable of growing. After he kills the Rikti, the Circle of Thorns attempts to stop him, but he's all like "Blaaarrrgh, I'm Evil guy!" and begins to crush everything and everybody. Eventually, he grows in power and destroys the world.

This summoning of an awesome sauce beast would be something that was foreshadowed in Troy Hickman's comic run, by the by.

The new content will be dedicated to stopping that beast, the most awesome of sauces, and thus saving the world. It will probably be a task force.

Positron said during the City Scoop radio show (I can't link to verbal, people! Go find it on siradio.fm !) that Issue 12 will be a transition issue setting up Issue 13. This implied that Issue 12 won't be as epic in scope as, say, Issue 9's economy or Issue 11's ability to redo missions. It'll be something relatively small and getting the point across, like Issue 10 was.

So, it fits nicely that we'll have a high end task force dedicated to co-op destroying this Circle of Thorns attempt, and a few other sprinklings on the side.

If we don't end the Rikti war before it truly hits critical mass, the universe will end.

'Course... that's all just my speculation, and I'm the person of indeterminate gender that brought you Moon base in Issue 10, so I'd probably just block my posts from now on.
  21. Riff away, my friend! I want this thing to be fine tuned into a truly plausible and possibly implementable idea. Something that could have its ins and outs discussed at a board meeting. It must be riffed!

    ^_^

I like what you're saying. Not a power pool, but just sets of powers. If that happens, it breaks up the themes I was suggesting. "Ear to the ground" is less about fleshing out a back story than simply saying "Rogue" is, you know?

    Still, the idea has merits.

    Additionally,
