When explaining traditions, Spazz, you forgot the part where this person insists that they are not that person while very obviously being so.
Heh, when I saw that the fourth link was to "Random [censored]", I thought "Yeah... that's going to be 'quarters thread'". -

Oh, I already beat it. I'm redownloading it
1) For nostalgia (yes, already).
2) Because if I can get this to run, that means I can get everything else I've wanted to run.
People, get ready to have yer sentries sapped.

Strange, because I get hardly any lag in Grandville.

I have one of the most powerful computers at a job that is... let's say "computer based".
I get lag when I play it there. We're talking a computer that runs The Orange Box on highest settings without a hiccup. That just aint right.

The Source engine is the new UT(original Unreal Tournament). It can run on just about anything.
Soon we'll see HL2 and Portal on Cell phones

Yes, our dear City of X has been summed up as "playing Barbie dressup".

It wasn't before? O.o
[/ QUOTE ]
Honestly, I have explained this game to people as "Barbie Dressup with super powers". -

Some of my hot-button issues:
Nerva. There's just too much of it. Can't we have some continental drift to pull the islands a bit closer together?
"I don't feel villainous." It's the same old complaint I've had since CoV beta. Most of the story arcs have me acting as the muscle in someone else's story. Very few of the arcs have anything to do with my character -- I know it's tough to do because of the nature of MMOs, in that every person has to be the star. Naylor's arc "Automatic Villainy" is a good example of how to work around this issue.
Corollary to the above: Content that's just flat-out wrong. St. Martial is the worst example, for my money. The arcs have you actually collecting debts for a casino. Really? That's what we get? And Hardcase, who is without a doubt my least favorite contact villainside. He has one mission that's even passably villainous (luring the Wailers into Paragon). Everything else is save this, rescue that. I consider Hardcase entirely misplaced in CoV.
[/ QUOTE ]
I find Hardcase to be:
1) A change of pace.
2) An isolated incident.
That being said, my best friend was utterly sick of me ranting ad nasuem "And then I saved people! Becuase it was the right thing to do! Augh!"
Arguably, though, Hardcase doesn't favor doing what's "right". He favors perserving the Rogue Isles, a bastion of evil. His methods are about as altruistic as casting Heal on Kefka.
He's protecting people... in the Rogue Isles.
It's all fun and games until you add the prepositional phrase. (Also, his surprise appearance in Vivacious Verandi's story arc is flat out one of the funniest plot twists I've ever seen. I just imagined my villain being taken by the ear and dragged away from the fun.)
Edit: Alternately, you can read Cheita's one sentence response that says everything I just did. -

-An explanation of Lord Recluse's vision for the Rogue Isles early in the game. I don't think we should have to wait until the video screen at Grandville to learn that his master plan is... screw it, that he has a master plan at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Considering he used to be the muscle, he's got the laziest plans I've ever heard of.
Step One:
Fortunate: There is a Villain in the Zig who is destined to have the power to take down Statesman!
Recluse: Excellent! Let's get a jail break together, whoever it is can take him out for me!
(forty levels later)
Step Two:
Recluse: Damn. That Destined guy still hasn't taken out that hero. Well, we have that new time stuff. I'll send whoever is left from that breakout into the future, so they can fix it so no matter what I do, I WIN!
(five MORE levels later)
Step Three:
Recluse: What does it take to motivate some scum around here? You! Grab seven of your friends. I'm dropping you in Paragon City, where you face the entire Phalanx at once! And dont' come back until you WIN!
Villain: *ulp*

I think an appreciation for Arachnos would increase exponentially if we knew more about them without scrounging the maps for plaques. -

Sister Flame is rapidly and inexplicably becoming something of an icon for appreciating this game for the pure joy it and its creators bring.
I like that. -
You received Jaunt as soon as it said you bought it, even though you were nowhere near the BM that is the Black Market?

For me it boils down to the character --some kick your [censored] types and some shy types--it's whatever fits the bill on that character.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd have to go with this. Totally depends on the character. Although, I do like the second pose better just on first impressions.
Aside from that, a fun alternative is the "I'm no exception to Rule 34" stance, but we don't see those much on these boards. -

Villains should get this one.
Now if I can figure out Image Ready, I'll make a stab at an animated one.

As I watched a certain music video, this just occurred to me: An awesome idea for a project to do in one's spare time.
Howzabout this: Every week, I post a band of a style/genre completely different from the one before it. At that point, everyone is welcome to sign up for that week's activity.
At the end of the week, everyone posts a Character Costume/Design inspired by one of the songs that band has done. Maybe someone who embodies they lyrics? Whose color scheme runs across their body the same way the music feels? Let your imagination run wild!
This whole thing started by my listening to They Might Be Giants' I'm Impressed and thinking that we really need a villain out there that captures that song.
Anyway, this is a completely random thought, and it could fizzle or become a really great weekly for those with Alt-itis.
What say you? -
Thanks, everyone! I'll try to get the first article up by next week!
Be grateful. It cuts into my Super Smash Bros. Brawl time. -

8) A Pony, named Princess Marcian Tobay the Third Esquire Jr. I shall than hug her, and squeeze her, and call her George.
[/ QUOTE ]
You realise that would require Marcian to shag a mare, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
honestly, I don't know how you can have "the Third" and "Jr." at the same time, does that mean the Pony is it's own father/mother.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's what inbreeding is for.
Hey, it works with Chocobos.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, first, Marcian Tobay does a mare and has a baby horse. This Horse, named Marcian Tobay the Second, becomes Queen. Then this Queen does her father Marcian Tobay and has a child. Now this makes the Princess who is named Marcian Tobay the Third Jr. Odly enough this Pony was a genius and got through Law School before puberty, so she's still a Pony and Lawyer. So, now this would be Princess Marcian Tobay the Third Esquire Jr.
You see, if "the Third" had a child it wouldn't be called "the Third Jr." it would be "the Fourth".

Right.
Marc, get to it.

That's Hero 1's job (the new story bible guy). He just had a baby, so he should be a sucker for these questions...
Okay, Hero 1 (if you do vanity searches for your name like the other Devs, you'll see this), would you please answer the child's questions? If you can't, then she can rightfully claim your job.

Castle sent the link over all of us. War Witch, Positron and I are all laughing and enjoying the read. As many have said, it's nice to see stories like this come up. It also makes me glad I updated the profanity filter yesterday
As far as answering her questions, I'd be more than happy to, but something tells me my answers would be no where as interesting as hers.
I'm sure someday Hero 2 will join the forces of justice and hopefully people like Sister Flame will be there to help him along.
Stay True
