Quote:No one needs protection FROM Cole. Cole protects others. That's what the Loyalists are all about!Of course, if Praetorian society is designed to remove the weak, that should mean the strong who are left don't need protection from Cole and his thugs, right?
Mother Mayhem protects you from your darkest thoughts. Justin Santclair helps protect those overseas by volunteering super powered beings in extended battles. Clockwork protect us from the dangers of day to day struggles...
Cole's entire plan is a veritable shield over us, and I will be one of the arms to hold it up. -

I have a rebuttal for you that shows you're incorrect on this vein. I'll trade you my next answer for a promise that you won't write it off with a snarky comment and completely refuse to consider what I've said.
Edit: 'eh, why the not?
I'm actually rather confident that Death Threats are allowed in Praetoia, seeing as killing someone for their job is completely acceptable. -

Popular opinion.
Currently, in Primal America, you cannot yell "Fire" in a crowded building unless there's a real fire.
You cannot make death threats against others.
You cannot leave sexually obscene messages to unwelcome parties.
You cannot explicitly discuss sex to minors without written permission from their guardians.
You cannot speak profanities on television without warnings, disclaimers, or observations of time slots.
I can go on... -
Quote:To be "For reals" for two seconds...Have you asked "your" people about this? You know, like had an election or something?
In Praetoia, the world enters such a state that people welcome and are initially grateful for Emporer Cole, I believe. Cole's first actions that put him in power were truly altruistic in intent.
Now, what he does to maintain that power is, of course, a radically different issue. The developer's have made it clear, however, that in the alternate universe where "Maybe I shouldn't..." has a quieter voice, science like Hamidon and Nuclear Weapons were reaching their full potential at an exponential rate. Cole's vision put a stop to that and did, in fact, "Save the world". -

Is your 8 year old sister Sister Flame?
We've seen some pretty excellent story arcs by 8 year olds...
But to be serious, the Developers of this game are pretty self effacing and open to being told "You done f'd up". If you were to repost this less inflammatory and more constructively, I think that the Developers would consider your advice going forward (As they have with many players before).
In your post's current state, however, I doubt it will effect change. Honey and vinegar, friend. -
Quote:Jerk. One of my all-time inspirational models is Sojourner Truth.
A slave herself, she comported herself with untold dignity and fought to the bitter end against slavery, yearning for freedom.
In her own words:
" I did not run off, for I thought that wicked, but I walked off, believing that to be all right."
She attended women's rights organizations, and worked tirelessly to improve the lives of African Americans, even being accused of being a man by her detractors.
Who will be our Sojourner Truth?
Who will fight against the oppressive, stifling rule of "Emperor" Cole?
Remember, no "Empire" can exist without people.
You are the people.
You choose whether good or evil will subsist.
You can choose to resist and lead us all to a better life.
Fight for truth, fight for Truth.
Walk off.

Quote:What's special is that I like the avatar and focusing on it is a heckuva lot better than taking this thread more seriously than Obsidius intended (a sin I, myself, committed). You ever been late to work, or a party or something, some sort of gathering, and everyone's giggling? You ask what's up, they just say "Oh man, you had to be there!" and fall out laughing. "O...kay" you think. And the rest of the day, somebody will just randomly say, like, "Googity googity!" in a nasal tone and then draw an X shape in the air, and everyone dies laughing again? And you ask again, and they say "You just had to be there!" Ever run into something like that?
No? Oh. Well. Never mind then. What's special about that avatar?
Also... Hot dang. -
Before things get too far out of hand, let's all stop and compliment the sexiness of Obsidius's avatar.

*Sigh* You know I almost completely disagree with you, but I have the slots to say it respectfully and to your face.
I don't get the neg reppers. I do got that I need to be careful how I spell that and to space it out... -

As I explained in one of the "RP" threads... we aren't role playing. If we were, we'd have characters, backstories, a story, and any desire to go anywhere. As it is right now, we're just finding a weird and fun way to express our excitement for Going Rogue.
I basically just take the statement "I think Praetoia will be cool" and prefaced it, jokingly, with "As a Loyalist". No one's actually "in character".
Edit: If We had made threads saying "Are you going Resistance or Loyalist?", the threads would more than likely have gone the exact same way. Only difference is first vs. third person.
The PvP Guide was specifically explained as less a guide than an invitation for PvE'ers to consider PvP. It needed to be here to serve its purpose.
"What could be in Issue 17" is standard speculation.
And... *clicks second link* ... Seriously? Someone saying they don't want a gun set goes in "Player Questions" because they phrased the statement as a rhetorical question?
I think that the forums are exactly what they need to be right now: A bumpin' and happening place to be. -
Just an odd note: The forums have 168 posts of support for Loyalists, whereas only 102 for Resistance.
On Twitter, however, support is vastly and overwhelmingly for Resistance. I'm really curious as to this discrepancy by social network of choice.
