Quote:That's true, that's true. In my haste, I forgot that we're also free from difficulties, crime, radicalism, and the Hamidon that would have otherwise killed us all.Although I think we do need to remember exceptions.
Our glorious Emperor has provided a life free of difficulties for those wise enough to embrace them.
You're right, SwellGuy. I suppose freedom from certain things can be a blessing. Luckily for us, Emperor Cole has done a fairly good job of determining which freedoms are good and which are bad. Ya know, I heard about this other city where they've been throwing as many freedoms as possible just to see what sticks. Like darts or spaghetti.
That's all right too, I guess. When playing with the lives and trust of your citizens, I guess letting them run wild at the health and safety of the virtuous has its merits. -

Quote:But... but it's free! And freedom's such a nice, lovely word with soft vowels and a flowing sound, so it's got to be good, right? Freedom in all situations? An absolutely free market. Freedom from government? Freedom from a financial system and traffic laws?"Tyrant" is just one of the lies told by this so-called "Statesman" and his stooges who cannot even keep their streets safe enough for children to walk on them.
Free, friend! Free from a legal system that arrests criminals. Free from conviction sentences and protection. The freedom to have a villain rob a bank blind and kill fifteen people on the way out, because pointing out that he has powers might hurt his feelings.
Why not free? It's such a whistling word. Like, like a bird. -

Quote:Extremely passionate parents are exactly the type of people Emperor Cole needs for his overseas projects, and they are encouraged to go by themselves. When whole families disappear because one parent asked difficult questions about the disappearance of the other parent, then it doesn't really look like Tyrant is too big on child welfare.
If their families are overly concerned, they are welcome to a free rendezvous at this destination free of charge. They may even find that it's such a fantastic opportunity to give their lives to the betterment of Cole's empire that they never return.
With such fantastic programs dedicated to doing what's best for the nations both overseas and home, I can certainly see why you would praise Emperor Cole's concern for childrens' welfare.
Please refrain from calling him Tyrant. We find the title to have a negative connotation. -
Quote:[drops forum persona]I like this particular bio quite a lot. It makes him sound morally ambiguous quite effectively.
Indeed. When I read this, I strongly get the impression that Marauder has no idea how evil much of Praetoria really is. My expectations are now that his story arc will involve your bearing witness to his gradual revelation that he's in too deep into the core rotted apple, as it were.
[reassumes forum persona]
What do you mean, ambiguous? Marauder is a hero! -

While we all know that the Resistance's mewling cause is led by an embodiment of selfishness and lust, we Loyalists would like to take this moment to pay homage to a true leader:
Marauder
who saved whole towns.
Marauder
who defeated those raiders and gangs.
Marauder
who is the salvation of a people.
All hail Marauder! All hail Emperor Cole! All hail Praetoria! Read full the story of one of our great leaders! -

Quote:My character:While I am stopping that I am also helping myself to great heaping fistfuls of the wealth of ancient Rome.
I specifically went back in time in order to introduce "Drakeisawesome" as a latin word. When language evolved, it would eventually warp to the point that many conversations would have an easter egg meaning of singing my praises.
Turns out I have absolutely no understanding of language and it kind of just became the word "Table". TOTALLLYYYYYY didn't work, but it'd be awesome if it did, right? High five? High five? Anyone? Bueller...

Quote:This needs to be a free iPhone App with a file you can upload to the "Saved Costume" folder on your computer. It needs to have existed years ago. What might draw more people in would be a standalone hero designer. A free program that could be downloaded and run independently from the net. Give people a chance to get interested in one of the under advertised aspects of the game. Our extensive costume options. Those that use the system would further advertise the game by showing of there heroes. Though it would need to include a way to take a screen shot of there heroes.

When I first got City of Villains (That's right, VILLAINS, Golden_Girl), I was so young... so naive. A distant 3 years ago. My computer wasn't working yet, but I had already purchased the game. I remember reading and re-reading the Items of Power section again and again... again and again. It was only a couple sentences, but I wanted to make sure I had every detailed figured out, so that once I finally got my computer running, I could fall to Base Raids running at full speed.
Then I got into the game.
Then I was sad.
I've obviously since fallen in love with the game, but that's my full memory of the Cathedral. -
Quote:I'm kind of imagining the zone events to be like this, where you're fighting literally hundreds of characters at once. It's the power rush many have asked for, and it makes sense to me.Now, we know it's been said the Incarnate system wll require you to be powerful - then again, you are 50. But that doesn't necessairly mean "You'll have to get multiple teams together" - after all, I'm sure the devs have seen how the halloween stuff fizzled after the first few days (and is generally ignored now.)
Just... tech issues.
Completely groundless theory, but I like it. -
I hate that the 5th Column was one of the only enemy groups that ranged level 1-53 in the Mission Architect, so I'm guessing that's what cost the company everything.
Oh, and Twitter. -

I think a lot of what affected CoH was either beyond control or not repeatable. Champions Online can only launch once. The recession can't be helped. Going Rogue is launching soon and can't be significantly dragged out again. Issue 17 is great, and so on and so forth.
Even if it was a wound, I'm not overly concerned for the future. -
