  1. Sooner or later the Veteran Rewards are going to simply become Cellphone camera shots of the various Paragon Studios employees sobbing the rewards "What more do you want from me!?"
  2. For me, it's very succinct: I welcome every opportunity into my gaming experience, as you never know which ones will lead to fantastic people.

That was kind of my thought. I'm on these forums 24/7, and everything that's been said here has been explicitly stated on the forums in an official capacity. I'll link it, if necessary.

I imagine that they'll be replaced with a child NPC. When you click on them, they message appears:

"'Scuse me, mister? Have you seen my Mommy? I tore Mr. Bear's arm and she said that she'd stitch him back together right-as-rain when she got home from work... Oh well, I guess I'll just wait until she gets back."

(Guess who has two emotes and plays City of Villains? This guy. )

The night/day will be much more fleshed out and gorgeous. Gentle sunrises and all that.

Go to the COH_OCR page. See that cell phone next to the "Following"? Click that baby 'til it turns green. Once that ish is done, tweets from said person will be sent directly to your phone.

You should probably do the same for my Twitter. I'm the most compelling person I know. Sometimes I have my Tweets routed to my phone, just to experience brilliance.
  8. This question may seem asinine, but Arbiter Fabulous and I are unsure: Do we have to have tickets to Comic-Con to attend these events? Or is it, like other Meet & Greets, hosted in a building adjacent to, but not technically a part of the Convention?

It affects things a bit in our planning. Thanks!
  9. I'll be there if I can convince my boss to grant the Paid Time Off.

I keep playing this card, but... "I used to work for a certain video game company back in the day..."

If they're anything now like they were then, you'd be amazed what a disconnect their can be. Earth sweeping decisions can be made without other departments even being informed. There's a lot to keep track of. Think about the unique situation MMOs are in: They're product is being distributed 24/7 with virtually no exceptions. This puts the pressure on each department to be reaching for the stars every moment that they're in the office. It is extremely easy to not be on the same page.

To get the announcement out "on time", they'd need the following:
    • Marketing (To state when the best time to announce it would be)
    • PR (To make sure they're on the same page as the other companies)
    • Community (To know when to post it on the local pages)

And all of them would have to be acting in tandem in order to make this work. Now, I'm not saying that I'm absolving Paragon's marketing efforts of all sins, but saying "Why isn't X marketed the way I'd like?" is a slightly more abstract version of saying "Why doesn't Positron hit the 'Fix it' button on the latest bug?".

Heck, I'd bet very real money some of the Red Names on these forums didn't even know this was happening. Not an insult; an observation of the fact that this CD has very little to do with the actual game, so they may not have received emails on it.

Anyway... bleh. I listened to the soundtrack twice today. Now onto my P!nk/Lady Gaga mix with which I'm currently experimenting. The results is a pervading lavender euphoria. <3

been working with in-game to date? Because the latter would be...way too
skimpy for me to justify shelling out cash for.

If they're actually full-length songs though, they've finally put out an extra
    worth my buying.
It's pretty dang epic. Slightly repetitive, as every piece of music is a variation of "Sci-Fi Doom! The big evil will kill YOU!!!!" in how it feels. That being said, it was clearly made in the same vein as a movie soundtrack, both in scope and effort. It's worth a buy.

If you go on iTunes, you can preview all the songs for 30 seconds each to see what I mean.

    Recommended.

Not sure. I'd worry more if the person sent me a message. As is, they just did the forum version of toilet papering my house.

It's okay. I shouldn't have, either. Did you see the kind of junk I post? There's a reason my rep is so low.
  19. I'm so sick of these powers that brick and fall of the tongue in this apathetic and disparaging manner. It's oppressive and, dare I said, an ill sign for the future of City of Heroes. How can we take pride in our abilities knowing that their prose were more conceived out of some half hashed "Good enough, I'm paid hourly" carelessness that plagues game design.

What we need are powersets that flow like smooth legs across satin. We must experiences these words as the vocabularistic version of making love to the very letters on our screen. I demand Powerset Alliteration!

    Observe these changes!
    • Fiery Melee: Fire Formed Fisticuffs in Flowing Form
    • Traps: Tricky Technologically-based Treachery Trashing Teams Tumultuously
    • Archery: Arrows Arced Ominously At Adversarial *****.
    • Katana: Killing Cuts Callously Crushing Carotids Cacophonously.
    • Ice Blast: Icicles Instigating Enviously Insidious Injury
    • Super Strength: Super Strength. (Good job here, Devs. I see someone got paid overtime.)
    • Dark Armor: Demonic Doldrums Draining Damage from the Damned.
    • Sonic Blast: Super Sounding Screams and Scratches Scathing Sanity Supernaturally.

... and I'm just getting started! It's such a simple fix! I don't understand why Back Alley Brawler doesn't animate some more word play into the game.

Help me out, people! Make clear our need for 5th grade poetic tropes! Let loose the livid alliteration!
  20. Here's the deal: Get on Twitter. Use the official Retweet function for THIS tweet. If I get 10 people to RT it, I'm going to start using a randomizer, selecting people, and gifting them the track of their choice.

    Sally forth!

  23. Nothing pleases me more than a development team that is willing to delay a project and make it perfect, rather than rush it out and say "Look, it's out on time!" with spit and duct tape still dripping from its stapled sides.

Kudos on the choice. I look forward to the upcoming system.
  24. Niv's out. She found a pretty kickin' job elsewhere.

TheOcho blurs the line between forum moderator and community person (Like Lighthouse did). Really great guy. Fun to hang out with at cons.

Avatea is a polyglot and writes the European announcements from her personal knowledge of them. She's also very kind and patient, so points there.

We have a great set of Community peeps this round. They stay more quiet than Ex and Lights, so opinions aren't as "Rawr, love/hate this person or DIE!!!!111" as they were with the old guard.

I loves them both, but you know I tend to like Red Names.
