    History:

    I sent some screenshots of MarDun to WM. I then sent him a pic that Davenport is in the middle of, because I loved his concept of the armor and dragon symbol.

    One of the problems I'm having is that I can only work so long in one stretch. After a certain, fairly small amount of manipulation, the clay begins to warm to a degree where it becomes far TOO pliable, and very difficult to work with. I remember this problem from when I was sculpting before, but having previously never made something bigger then about 5 inches tall, it was never such a problem.

    I keep considering just scaling back, and making a bust afterall, but I figure...if all goes well, I'll have to be making full-models sooner or later, so I might as well get my practice in now. The most difficult thing on the sculpt so far, is the fist. Everytime I start sculpting it, I can't get any work done. It's just too small, and one solid lump of clay, every manipulation I do to it warps it out of shape...I may just have to redo it from the start with aluminum foil in the center, but I was expecting it to be small enough, it wouldn't be neccisarry...

    Anyway, if your interested in getting a finished portrait I can do this type of thing cheap. Or for a little more I can hand paint your toons portrait. Really have no idea what to charge. Anyone else do this on the forums? if so, does anyone know what they charge? Not looking to get rich, but If you want quality work, it takes time and effort....which always cost something (: Sketches are still FREE (:

    Don't worry, MarDun. As long as I remain confident in my sculpting abilities, I'm planning on doing your character. The armor and long hair will be good practice for me.

    That being said, keep in mind that:
    A) I'm making no promises on sculpting him, and
    B) Even if I do, considering I'm interested in sculpting him for armor/hair practice, I can make no promises on it actually turning out well.

    Keep in mind, this has been a dream of mine for quite some time, and I hope in the future when you are ready- you choose MarDun as one of your sculpts?

    In the meantime, you should contact the sculptors in the above link. I have even heard of the very talented Douglas Shuler, aka: DarkJedi taking a crack at sculpting...
