Yeah I agrea fire is definitely easy to solo with. At least my fire/en has been much easier to solo with than my grav/en. After I got the imps most non-triangle relentless missions were very very very easy to solo. So easy that I could quickly outlevel troublesome critters with triangles. I know this is not what was intended but since the triangles are a cheat then its fine with me. Of course this doesn't help with the RSF but I'm waiting to see how my fire/en does against level 53 FP. And its been much much easier to solo my fire/en dom than my rad/rad def.
Edit: Forgot to add that while I still haven't teamed yet the new buff made it alot easier for my grav/en to solo. -
My fire/energy is much more effective than my grav/energy. Hot Feet is great. I would recommend it be taken asap at 8. It let me deal w/ 3 +2s. Sure its an end hog but thats easily dealt with. I usually turn it off after I have killed the first baddie and gotten the second to half life. Usually by then the third baddie has run far away, some even losing aggro and not coming back. (I would also recommend taking hasten at 6).
Regarding bonfire, well you (I believe it was you) mentioned being ambushed upon entering a mission. That has happened to me several times. All I need to do is throw bonfire and problem is solved or at least I gain enough time for myself and team to escape.
And Fire Imps make most non-triangle missions very very very easy.
Imho, fire is much stronger than grav, at least in the early game. But since many people have said that it gets better I will stick with it or at least until I get tf. However I am not surprised that most (at least that is what is seems to me) of those who say dom suck are gravs. -

Out of curiosity, does this tweak include the ability to fire off domination when mezzed?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not initially, but the patch following should have it. I forget to stick that in on the original change, and QA helpfully pointed it out, but not in time to reach the version going out.

Around the end of April, I started a Fire/Energy Dominator on Justice. I'm level 37 now.

Fire/Energy ftw!!!! -
My fire/energy does not suck and is very fun to play. Some say that fire doesn't get good until you have the pets slotted. Imho that is not true. After you get fire imps, no av/hero/eb relentless missions become very very easy though I expect them to get harder in the 40s.
The jury is still out on my grav/energy.
Those that say that doms are not good are usually grav domsOr they just picked immobs or start fights with immobs
Or they like one-shotting +1 minions
Or they like buffing/debuffing their teammates
(j/k)
I'm not saying they are perfect. IIRC a dev said that they ae looking at doms and will only buff them slightly. On difficulty in fixing doms is that they vary so much; at leat fire and grav do. FMX, adding more damage might be the easiest way to fix but would make fire overpowered. If they up control too much we could get city of statues again which I'm sure the devs don't want. What I would like but I don't see happening is for doms to get something like AA/HF, at least grav. -

Perfect example: someone discovered you could confuse a player in a PvP zone and that person could quickly run thru the gate to Atlas Park and start nuking lowbies. Despite all the other fixes we've been promised and we're waiting for (the AV regen rollback, the fix for the sound looping, global chat issues) this rare bug gets top priority and makes it to live in LESS THAN 5 DAYS. Now yes it's a bug, and yes it needs to get fixed. But comn, Atlas Park? 99% of the people there can't even get debt. If it happens, you report it via petition and the people responsible are dealt with. Big friggin deal. But to have everything else put on hold so that THIS can be fixed... that's just fuku BS crapola.

The confuse bug was used in pocket D during a player event. -

Sounds like a bug to me. Seems like the one on test where the domination bar would not fall after you exited a mission.
Of course I hope it isn't.
Still 2 /kins are great.

The domination bar wouldn't fall ever?

IIRC it would drop much more slowly than normal.
Regarding stacking domination, I would love to team w/ 3+ kins to try it. I've teamed w/ 2 kins in i6 and have hasten but never was able to stack it. -

I did a mayhem mish set on villainous and was doing fine until I ran into elite boss Valkyrie. And she wasn't alone. So after wasting a minute breaking the prison door I was attacked by 2 swat guys and 2 longbow. That ate up a lot of time thanks to the glue.
Also I tried a mayhem mission on a team and the glue would not disappear for a long time (several minutes) after I had killed the swat guys. -
Thanks Devs, the latest buff is a step in the right direction at least. But I'm fire/energy.
I was on test trying to get a mayhem mission. I set it on villainous and the newspaper missions where mind-numbingly boring but not the Mayhem Mission thanks to a surprise appearance by elite boss Valkyrie and her giant sword.
Imo we should get 80% damage for melee since corruptors get 80 for their secondary and controlloers get 80-88 and we take a big risk to melee. Blappers can get in and out thanks to their high damage melee attacks while it takes doms much longer to kill. exposing them to more risk. -
I think domination is fine especially with the reduction in time. That's not to say I don't think it doesn't need more tweaking. And any power that lets me take on 3 +2s is ok with me. So imo hotfeet is great for dominators.
Oh and I think you got your threads mixed up. -
Hmmm, 3 even con minions are easy for my fire/energy. With hotfeet I can go up against 3 +2s solo and against +4s on teams.
On a mayhem mission I didn't need domination to eliminate an even con boss (mission was set at vicious so don't know why an even con showed up) though I probably should have used domination to speed it up because I ended up running out of time waiting for the hero to show up. -
My mission ended while I was waiting for the hero to show up
Like others I had 15 min instead of 20 to start mission. At first I tried beating up stuff but received no time bonus so ran to bank. As I did so I got a 30 second time bonus without attacking anything. I think I made the mistake of saving domination for the hero and fought a boss without it. I succeeded in killing the boss but it probably took too much time. Oh well, can't wait for test to go back up so I can have another go.
