I have looked up Accolades, and all of them combined will probably effect your gameplay slightly moreso than a badge. That is, not much at all. Unless you wanna tell me that having 15% more HP will let you survive that fight that you couldn't before. Or that extra 10 endurance will let you fire off one last attack that allows you to kill that AV that you never could before. Or those powers that you can use once every 25 minutes will let you bump your difficulty up to Invincible, which was heretofore impossible. Or that having all of them will let you do anything you couldn't do before with any sort of greater success. If you feel like telling me that, then you better have an actual example to back it up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, Accolade powers do make a difference. Take the Vanguard accolade that further empowers the duration of all hold powers. The Vanguard accolade is a VERY good tool to use during the hold phase of a Hamidon Raid. If you don't know this because you've never done a Hamidon raid before, then you shouldn't be posting on this topic.
  2. Well the Monkey Badge is for an accolade. So to get the accolade power to help make the game that much more enjoyable, some people have to do things that they don't necessarily want to, like kill 10 K monkeys. It was doing something in the short term that was enjoyable so that something in the long term would be more enjoyable. It's one of those "grin and bear it" type things.

You know I'm really surprised there isn't a more simple solution to datamining. Why don't they just make it so that when a player finishes a TF, there is a field in their player profile that goes from False to True - a simply Boolean change.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's my belief that such a field simply didn't exist previously because they weren't going to track every TF.

Me, I'm an information glutton. When I design databases I track too much stuff and add in (currently) unnecessary bloat.

Sure, later I look like a miracle worker when someone asks "is there any way to find out..." but until then I look like a dork for having such a glacial DB with all of this "useless" stuff floating around. And yep, some of it really does never get used.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wonder then is ther a way to go back in and create fields in a database to start tracking stuff like that. If there is then they should do this for the future in case something like this happens again. But of course, I highly doubt that they will implement another TF without at least giving a badge for it........

Why don't they just make it so that when a player finishes a TF, there is a field in their player profile that goes from False to True - a simply Boolean change. Then instead of datamining all the data in the game, all the devs would have to do is bring up the player's profile and see all the TF's and other accomplishments that the player has.

I'm assuming this game is based on a Database, so too bad it isn't set up much simpler to allow easier access to the more important data.
  5. Thanks Taser. This really sucks that I have to do it again, but hopefully I can pull it off as fast as you once I5 hits.

Team of 8 (with my warshade leading) did Quarterfield in 3 hours, 15 minutes ghosting the 4 glowie missions and clearing everything else.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow, now that is impressive and deserves a badge for sure! Could you provide some more details of your tactics. For instance, what did your group consist of, because whatever you say, I'm pretty much going to duplicate, lol.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
No you will not lose existing badges - the new ones that are brought in SS TF and Moonfire will not be awarded retroactively

OK I am making plans on Triumph to basically skip through the Quaterfield TF with 4 invis players clicking glowies on those missions that this can be done on.
I have seen it claimed as being done in a couple of hours using this method.

A protest by getting the badge by not really doing the TF.

I urge all to take this approach.

(Now knowing what I content Freak I am - this is a flippin Huge Step, and shows how I am about this)

    Rabble Rabble

I'm pretty sure that Rularuu can see through stealth right? If not, then this is an awesome idea and something that I would want to test out.

How can you datamine the game when badges first came out for all the TF's completed before the badges, but you cannot datamine for these new TF badges?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, TFs could not be redone when they first datamined, we did not have auto-exemping then. That would be my guess.

    [ QUOTE ]
It's really assinine to put somebody through that Dr. Quarterfield's TF a second time for no good reason other than absolute laziness. Because let's get to the heart of the matter: datamine CAN be done; you just don't want to do it. That laziness in my mind and unacceptable to your paying customers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

TFs CAN be redone, you just don't want to redo it. That laziness is unacceptable in my mind

    [/ QUOTE ]

Haha, laziness? I don't think so. I don't think laziness is what had me sit down at a computer for 10 STRAIGHT hours to do a single TF. I did it for the challenge. I did it because it DID take so long and that not that many people can say they did it. To datamine for the badge would be a good bonus to all the players that have done them already. I have no problems redoing that last three shard TF's or the Moonfire TF, but I do not want to redo the 1st Shard TF. It's ridiculous and pointless.

As far as your first response goes, if they datamined for TF's initially because there wasn't autoexemplar available or because you couldn't do them again, that's fine, but then why would they datamine prestige points for SG Bases? Why not start everyone off at ground zero like they're doing with these TF's badges? You're logic is off buddy, way off.

Clarification - Monsters in TF's do not count towards the badges for those monsters (Babbage for ex). It has been this way for some time.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not true tho - I got the Babbage badge doing Synapse last week.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The only reason you get the Babbage badge as well as the Kronos Titan badge are because they are outdoor spawns. It is similar to a zone spawn. You don't get the Jurassik badge because it is in a mission. Bottom line.
  10. You guys can't be serious about this. How can you datamine the game when badges first came out for all the TF's completed before the badges, but you cannot datamine for these new TF badges?

The Shard TF's take MANY MANY hours to complete, and this is utter slap in the face to everyone who has completed them already. The first one took me 10 hours, the second took 7, the third around 4, and the last about 6. That's a lot of time to spend doing something in the game and then have someone tell you that you have to do it all over again.

You know, even if it takes a long time to complete, I think datamining is a good solution, and it will make everyone much happier. It's really assinine to put somebody through that Dr. Quarterfield's TF a second time for no good reason other than absolute laziness. Because let's get to the heart of the matter: datamine CAN be done; you just don't want to do it. That laziness in my mind and unacceptable to your paying customers.

Hey : I teamed with Master Pingu late last night
    with my defender T2-MaxDefense.

We did an AV mission, started out a bit rough but ended
OK I way a bit sleepy and got myself killed at the begining.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah yes, Master Pingu is the master of AV missions. I ran a couple with him myself a while back. It seems to be all he does lately.

I think Tyrant dated his sister in high school, and Pingu hasn't forgiven him yet.
  12. Aye, you are right about that Bert. I was good to see some of you guys in person again for some and for the first time for others.

Oh yeah a big thank you for helping us clear those crazy monsters afterwards. That was much appreciated. Those monsters were starting to gang up on us.........
  13. Drizzit also helped me get the Master of Olympus badge, thanks to his Malta Story Arc. Thanks again Driz!
  14. Woohoo! Hamidon, here we come.
  15. We deserve the TF badges just for the fact that we sat through 10 to 12 hours of the first Shard TF. I don't care what you say, but that should be evidence enough that we earned them fair and square.

So when they awarded the first TF badges retroactively, are you saying that everyone back then didn't deserve them either?
  16. Will the Shard TF Badges be awarded retrospectively?

I hope they do because I will very upset if I have to sit through the Dr. Quarterfield's TF again (10 to 12 hours long). That is just absolutely ridiculous.
