  1. Round one went nicely. The shard drop was delicious.

Two in one day? We shall see
  2. With the launch of I19, a couple of things to keep in mind...

    - There are now med stations located in the Abyss and the Hive.
    - There are 6 new badges in each zone.
    - For those going the path of the incarnate, defeating Hamidon will give the option of taking 4 shards.

    Manti TF Anyone?

  4. For reference for those who may have characters that can assist you...

    Atlas Park [Global Threat] 5-10
    Kings Row [King Maker] 10-15
Talos Island [Talon of Talos] 30-35
  5. NO RAID ON 11/27/10... we're giving Hamidon something to be thankful for this weekend: not getting his gelatinous posterior handed to him.

Rogue Isles Hamidon Raid in the Abyss.

Saturday, December 4th, 3 PM Pacific (4 PM Mountain, 5 PM Central, 6 PM Eastern).

kidengineer will be leading the raid/coordinating the teams.

    A few points to remember:
    * The Abyss is restricted to level 45+ Vigilantes, Villains, and Rogues.
    * The raid team leaders will use the Request channel to coordinate the teams. Please monitor the channel for instructions, but do not use it unless you are one of the raid team leaders
    * It will hold 50 villains, if the Abyss fills up, do not leave the zone, there is no guarantee you'll get back into that instance.
    * The Hamidon will spawn (bloom) 3 sets of Mitos at (75%, 50%, and 25%), in addition to the mitos that initially spawn with him.
    * After Hamidon is defeated you will have the option of selecting 53 Reward Merits or a random Hamidon Origin Enhancement if you are level 47+.

If you can, please acquire Biological Mutagen warhead/nuke from Warburg prior to the raid. They help tremendously.

Please acquire Chemical Burn warhead/nuke from Warburg as well. We're planning to plow through the last bloom.

We may attempt a completely evac-less raid, depending on attendance.
  6. Hamidon's down.

In a spur of the moment effort, Hamidon was dispatched. I want to thank everyone that made it out.

To those that weren't able to show, several of us that did make it are looking for ways to show our appreciation for your effort yesterday.

    Thanks again!
  7. I want to echo this sentiment. The aggro team is by far one of the more difficult teams to lead and to be on.

Where the other teams could be oversimplified as "follow the leader", the yellow mito aggro team is radically different. It's about sending off your teammates to taunt six different targets. And when one member of that team's timing is off, or they die, or get disconnected; it is very obvious to the other raid participants that something is wrong.

Hyperstrike did a fine job organizing the aggro team, and the aggro team did a fantastic job holding aggro for extended periods of time.

If this is the case, I strongly recommend arriving EARLY to the raid as I expect the zone to be full.
  10. Paragon City Hamidon Raid, in the Hive.

Saturday, November 20th, 3 PM Pacific (4 PM Mountain, 5 PM Central, 6 PM Eastern).

kidengineer will be leading the raid/coordinating the teams.

    A few points to remember:
    * The Hive is restricted to level 45+ Rogues, Heroes, and Vigilantes.
    * Warburg Biological Mutagen and Chemical Burn warheads greatly help. If you can please acquire one for the raid.
    * A full tray of Essence of the Earth (known as EoE) inspirations is very useful (but not absolutely necessary).
    * The raid team leaders will use the Request channel to coordinate the teams. Please monitor the channel for instructions, but do not use it unless you are one of the raid team leaders
    * It will hold 50 characters, if the Hive fills up, do not leave the zone, there is no guarantee you'll get back into that instance.

Saturday, November 13th, 3 PM Pacific (4 PM Mountain, 5 PM Central, 6 PM Eastern).

  12. Once you have a roster, don't publicize the date/time: there are players out there that would enjoy the opportunity to disrupt your endeavor.
  13. Kid: Thanks for the info.

  15. When I found out that several people were not going to be available for this raid, I immediately put the option to the masses on the forums. Since there wasn't much of a response and there was no consensus nor majority, I decided not to attempt to run one with little support.

Last week's villain raid was not well attended, and I feared that the same result would occur this week as well.

    Oh well.

Someone drop me a tell if a raid is actually going to go off one of these days.
To some extent, this exemplifies the problem we've had. We don't know how many people are interested. Only Sooner, Kid (who wouldn't be able to attend), Yeti, and StarGeek (who also wouldn't be able to attend) responded when I made the follow up post on Monday of this week. Vega also responded earlier, but he also wasn't going to able to attend. Demon_Shell responded after I posted about the (apparent) lack of interest and the cancelling of the raid.

We (the Saturday Raid Leaders) need to have a feel for who can, and cannot make it ahead of time. Pulling off a Hamidon raid with too few people, or the wrong mix of ATs is very problematic, and an experience I'd rather not experience, nor have anyone else endure.

If anyone here felt that strongly about having a Hamidon raid today, written support here on the forums and in the game (to show me that there was enough interest). A strong showing of interest was going to be the deciding factor behind either running the raid, rescheduling it, or cancelling it altogether.

Since there wasn't enough support (in my opinion), I decided to call it off.

  17. I'm tempted to go with option #4. There just does not seem to be enough of us interested to make it worthwhile. I'd rather run a Task/Strike Force over attempting a Hamidon Raid with so few people.

    Here are our options:
    1. Have someone else coordinate the raid (and "tank" Hamidon).
    2. Run the raid 4 hours earlier (about 2pm Eastern, 11am Pacific) while he's available.
    3. Hold the raid on Sunday.
    4. Skip the raid for this coming weekend.

What would you like to do?
I fear that we will be skipping this weeks raid unless there is a surge in interest. The only person who has given feedback to the above interrogative is Sooner, and as awesome as she is, it will take many more rogues, vigilantes and heroes to make this work.

I understand that we are deep into the mid-issue slump, and it have already seen the effect on the Rogue Isle's Hamidon Raid last week. I suppose we'll see renewed interest once Issue 19 goes live, I just hope we aren't so out of practice that raiding Hamidon is a frustrating and difficult experience.
