  2. Sooner! Your post got cut short.

    *waits impatiently for the violence*
  3. What a tangled web of disaster.
  4. Rogue Isles Hamidon Raid in the Abyss.

Saturday, December 18th, 3 PM Pacific (4 PM Mountain, 5 PM Central, 6 PM Eastern).

NOTE: There will not be a "scheduled" raid on December 24th

kidengineer will be leading the raid/coordinating the teams.

The usual Yellow Mito taunt team leader will not be available, can you (*cough* Hyperstrike *cough*) help out?

    A few points to remember:
    * The Abyss is restricted to level 45+ Vigilantes, Villains, and Rogues.
    * The raid team leaders will use the Request channel to coordinate the teams. Please monitor the channel for instructions, but do not use it unless you are one of the raid team leaders
    * It will hold 50 villains, if the Abyss fills up, do not leave the zone, there is no guarantee you'll get back into that instance.
    * The Hamidon will spawn (bloom) 3 sets of Mitos at (75%, 50%, and 25%), in addition to the mitos that initially spawn with him.
    * After Hamidon is defeated you will have the option of selecting 53 Reward Merits or a random Hamidon Origin Enhancement if you are level 47+, or 4 Incarnate Shards if you have the alpha slot unlocked.

If you can, please acquire Biological Mutagen warhead/nuke from Warburg prior to the raid. They help tremendously.

We may attempt a completely evac-less raid, depending on attendance.
  5. Welcome back!

Join "Protector Vigilance" for starters [PG13 rated], and if you have a strong stomach you can try "Jello Shooters" [R rated].

There are plenty of other specialty channels, but those two are the general chat channels that I'm aware of.
  6. The tapestry of things to come is thick and ominous with vile plots, plans, schemes, double dealing, double crossings and betrayals.
  7. Congratulations Protector on another smooth, bountiful raid!

  9. We got in two solid raids, letting Hami know that we have his number... on speed dial!

    Congratulations Protector! x2!
  10. Woooo <snip> oooo hoooo <snip> oooo!

    Put it this way:

My Empath has kept Badge alive.

And the only reason is that I learned to be an Empath is from Riverdancer.

Why do you think I run so many scrappers now?
If you want that on your emp and you see me online... well, you know the rest

They're just there to intentionally disrupt the attempt to defeat the AV's. Pulling other spawns, buffing the AV's, etc...
Sadly, what they are doing is well within the definition of PvP in a PvP zone. While it may be in bad taste and put them at odds with other members of the community, it is definitely not griefing when they are attempting to stop you from defeating turrets, defeating Villain/Hero NPCs, or getting badges. They are PvPing, although it is against a person who is badging. But by the very fact that a badger is in the zone, the badger voluntarily puts themselves in a position to be attacked by a hostile party.

The PvP badges were created, In my opinion, for PvPers to show off that despite the opposition attempting to stop them, they were able to both defeat the Hero/Villain NPCs and other players. Similar to how Accomplishment badges were put in place to show that players who are interested in the story driven content completed the content.

The problem however, isn't with the developers nor the PvPers, the problem is actually with the badgers seeking completeness (which I also do) that aren't interested in PvP. Now before you get upset, let me finish. I recently began using the term indulging my addiction when it comes to acquiring new badges, and I believe it has given me a new insight on my enjoyment of the game. Each time I get a new badge on my badger, it gives me a temporary dose of gratification from that accomplishment. A moment of satisfaction based upon setting a set of bits on a server that says I did something in a game. It's about bragging rights to my fellow players that I have accomplished a lot of insignificant things in a past-time. Does it mean anything in the real world? No. But getting those badges makes me feel good and that's what matters. It gives me a reason to play with other people around the world to accomplish artificial and superficial goals in a fictional digital universe concocted by game designers and brought to life by an untold number of hours programming for which I pay a monthly fee to get this enjoyment... it's a digital drug.

I say these things, not because I seek to make badgers feel bad. And why would I? I'm not only a badging advocate, I'm also a addict. I say these things to provide my perspective on the situation. Hopefully, something that I typed here today can ease the psychological trauma brought about when pixels controlled by another player do naughty things to your pixels in a PvP zone.

So when your badge driven event gets disrupted by PvPers, leave the zone and do something else and enjoy yourself. Getting you upset isn't what they're trying to accomplish, sadly it is an unfortunate consequence. They're seeking the same gratification you get from badging, but it involves attacking and defeating a player controlled opponent. Unfortunately, the result of their satisfaction is the inhibition of yours and the two are in diametric opposition.
  13. /hide is a wonderful thing.

It also helps to avoid publicizing PvE activities in a PvP zone. They aren't griefing when they attack you, that's what the zone is about.

The reward table gives you the option of taking 4 basic common shards.

This is in addition to any shards that drop while defeating Mitos.

  16. Paragon City Hamidon Raid, in the Hive.

Sunday, December 12th, 3 PM Pacific (4 PM Mountain, 5 PM Central, 6 PM Eastern).

kidengineer will be leading the raid/coordinating the teams.

    A few points to remember:
    * The Hive is restricted to level 45+ Rogues, Heroes, and Vigilantes.
    * Warburg Biological Mutagen warheads greatly help. If you can please acquire one for the raid.
    * A full tray of Essence of the Earth (known as EoE) inspirations is very useful (but not absolutely necessary).
    * The raid team leaders will use the Request channel to coordinate the teams. Please monitor the channel for instructions, but do not use it unless you are one of the raid team leaders
    * It will hold 50 characters, if the Hive fills up, do not leave the zone, there is no guarantee you'll get back into that instance.

  17. Additionally, I do not anticipate a raid occurring on December 25th... our present to Hamidon.

  19. And he goes down again!

There was enough interest to re-spawn Hamidon and whoop him a second time.

    Congratulations Protector!
