MeiLaLan's build looks like a great example, as far as I can tell without having mids on this computer. In your last one you were spending too many slots on defensive powers to get to softcap. It is easy to get to softcap by using the Maco's, ToD's, Oblit's, etc. and it isn't gimping your single target damage that way.
-
Just FYI, Brutes have a higher damage cap than Scrappers.
Brute +675%
Scrappers +400%
Also I'll agree with BrandX that I'd go with a Brute on this combo. /fire really benefits from a brute's higher base hitpoints. -
You have under-slotted nearly all of your attacks. If your playing a brute I assume you want to kill things. With KO blow, foot stomp, and shield charge your only slotted attacks, your are going to be doing a lot of standing around waiting for stuff to recharge.
-
It is pretty easy to get typed to softcap on an invuln. Softcap s/l/e/n, capped resist to S/L, and 3000+ hitpoints on a Brute is mega tough.

Quote:This is probably true. My only blue side experiance in a long time is as a lowbie waiting for a VG mate to PL me to 20 so I can run tips to get the heck outta there.I'd agree that on average there are probably more "vet" players on the redside than blueside. But really if you avoid Atlas Park on the blueside you avoid 99% of the "young kids and new players" there as well.
I don't know why we can't roll hero AT's as villians (or villian AT's as heros)right out of the box like in praetoria. I love my scrappers but its no fun starting on the wrong side. -
The hard part is keeping the kittens in your pants once you get them there!

I've heard a UNVERIFIED RUMOR (no evidence so don't quote me) that I20 is coming out in the begenning of April. So I'm hoping that the WST schedule comes out with the I20 notes.
-
I play almost all villians. It has always seemed to me that there were more young kids and new players hero side. I'd rather play with vets who don't ask me what all these enhancments in their tray are for.
Redside on Freedom really does have plenty of people, but most of the other servers I expect its pretty empty. -
What happens? I've never heard of this....
-
I have 2 lvl shifted Super Strength brutes and neither of them sees any knockback problems fighting 50's.
-
/will, /sd, and /invuln, do really well in nearly all endgame content. Invuln will be toughest, Shield will do better damage, and willpower does everything really well.
For a primary its really hard to beat SS. Rage is just that good. -
I'd go wm/elec brute for some of his lightning powers. Invuln would work well too, but I have one of those.
-
Musculature is really not going to see any real improvement on a brute. Spiritual is definately the way to go, especially on a fire brute it really helps out healing flames.
Also, if your using reactive armors for the S/L defense, why no Kinetic Combats? Move a slot from tough into plasma shield for the S/L bonus.
I'll second what was said about the oblits in Blazing Aura. It doesn't work out well on endurance. Frankenslot it for acc/dam/end redux. -
The only time I ever see it used is for griefing with PVP drones.
-
IDK... My fire/fire/fire dom needed 2nd/3rd (can't remember which except that 1st tier wasn't good enough) tier cardiac to completely get rid of his end problems even with perma dom refills. He only has one set of purples though so you crazy purpled out guys prob have more recovery buffs than I do.
-
I'd go Fire aswell. I have a Fire/cold and I really think I'd miss the AOE if he was sonic. My Sonic/dark (granted its build is leaning heavily towards pvp) sits on the login screen alot because of the lack of strong AOE dmg.
-
Too bad. We are on Freedom, but whoever you were teaming with was definately channelling our mojo.

Quote:What server was this? It sounds like what my VG does on a daily basis. Especially if there was no communication in chat about what the heck was going on. Ventrillo has ruined our chat while fighting abilities. And sometimes the entire team is full of crazy people who just want to get things done and kill anything in the way of a goal. I ran on a PUG for a speed run on an ITF and it was scrapperlock to the extreme. Last mish? Charge Rommy from the beginning and just go to town while the platform and ambushes came in and piled on. If I had my Warshade it would have been truly epic for her. It was still a ton of fun for my scrapper and I enjoyed just mowing down everything in sight.
Do not ask for specifics. I was in the scrapperlock zone and nothing else mattered except getting to the next goal in order to dish out more justice. -
Ran a RSF with 2 fire/sd brutes and 5 corrs and a bad*** Mind dom last night. My Fire/rad's rain was ticking 12's at one point during the future freedom phalanx mission. We had a dark, kin, cold, and another rad. We rushed the AV's at the end destroyed them. 30 minutes and 47 seconds with only one death (mind dom got one shotted by an AV.) More Corr's = more better!
-
Sonic/dark brings great things to teams too. Huge team heal, team ressurect, lots of -to hit, -regen, and tons and tons -resist for hard targets like AV's and stuff.

Back on topic hows the endurance on Fire/SR. I have a Fire/SD scrapper and had to go cardiac alpha. I know fire and sr are fairly end heavy. I don't have a SR yet and I kinda want one.
-
I agree with Deus one the tread-jack topic of /fire over /elec. When I run ITF on my SS/Fire everyone else goes to Rommie and I go and clear the rooftops by myself and if I'm unlucky I'll use my heal once or twice a rooftop.
During the rage crash I use consume to gain back my end lost from the crash, then sands of mu, and then rage crash over.
Dead mobs do less damage than sapped mobs. -
First off, your hurting yourself with all the Frankenslotting. It is most useful in a power where you want usablility out of only a few slots.
Get the Forcefeedback proc's out of the single target attacks and put one of them in Footstomp. Trust me its awesome there. Oblits aren't great in footstomp anyways, good dmg, great rech, but too little end redux.
Move the numina's proc out of healing flames and into health so you have it all the time. In a click it only last 2 minutes and you can't stack it, so its mosly wasted there.
I double what unltrawatt said about firey embrace. 6 slot for burn for damage its your best aoe attack. Your oblits from footstomp will go great there.
It mostly seems like you don't have a goal for the build. You need to decide if your going to build for defense, high recharge, or whatever, and then do it.
