Quote:This is a great idea. My global friends and I ran an ITF and a RSF last night with some decked out incarnate toons. We were messing around, just having fun, and still ran really impressive times. It was massively fun.Actually, an idea getting a lot of buzz is to have an "Incarnate Level" setting in the TF difficulty setting for certain Level 50 TFs. It would set all the foes to level 54, disable Temp Powers (the same ones on iTrials) and allow for Incarnate Threads to drop... and why not throw a few Astral Merits on completion.
I was amazed how fast the AV's in RSF died. Killed Numina, then Posi, and by the time Posi was down, Synapse, Citadel, and BaBs were all dead from AOEs. It really felt like they were a bunch of Elite bosses instead of AV's.
Ramping it up to 54 would probably throw the difficulty back where it needs to be. I'd love to be able to get iXP and threads from stuff other than the trials. I'm kinda burned out on both of them. I like them, but I would love a change of pace even if its older content. -
I guess I need to try again. My fire/cold is 44% s/l and ~40 ranged def, T3 spiritual alpha for basically perma benumb, heatloss, and stacking sleet. I think he wasn't lvl shifted on that first try and he's since gotten T2 reactive interface and T2 ion judgement. I'm not sure what his recharge is currently, but he's got 5 lotg 7.5's and near perma hasten from alpha so I guess about 40%-110% based on hasten (I think its only down for a couple seconds.)
Should I be spamming sleet? I'd think the debuff is worth the long animation time.... -
Hmmm no wonder my SS/Fire brute gets V rares and rares without even trying.....
I'm really excited to play my fire/fire/fire dom now! -
Last night I got 2 very rares, 1 rare, and an uncommon. I seem to have more trouble getting the uncommons and the commons than the rares and very rares. I think I have had to craft all but one of my common components and almost all of my uncommons.

Quote:The difference is you can get only 1 notice a week. You can get 1 empiran a day and as many astral merits as your willing to earn.On the other hand, once notice of the week came out I was able to run those over and over and over and over with multiple characters in one day and get each many notices built up. As I have no interest in tie r4 of anything, I broke down all notices after the first and got to my tier 3 extraordinarily fast on all of my 50s. There's no real equivalent for the thread-side of things because even the empyrean merits don't become enough to craft 2-3 components from a single breakdown. If they were worth 60-120 threads it would be the equivalent of the notice breakdown into 6-12 shards. But they're not. And astral breakdowns are a joke. You need more astrals to craft 1 component than you do shards to craft 1 component (5 astral merits compared to 4 shards).
So 7 empirans a week at 8-10 threads = 56-70 threads. Thats 2 or 3 components a week just like the notices.
Plus I'm averaging 5 astrals from each BAF. So with only 2 runs a night thats another 280 threads a week for over 300 total. Converting is the way to go. Yes, they MIGHT be useful for something next issue or the one after that, but it is much more useful to have your incarnate powers for those months that they are ONLY used to breakdown into threads. Especially the astral merits, the drop rate is way too frequent.
Unlocking the slots takes longer than Alpha, but once that is done everything else is much, much easier. -
I wrote a long detailed post but the internet ate it....
The short hand was monitor your defense and if you see it dropping hop out of the mob for a sec to let the debuff wear off. Even granite tanks can get eaten by a big group stacking -def and huge crits. -
Is it really necessary to RP on the Forums? I can kinda understand it in the game, but on the forums...REALLY?
-
I'll agree on the 2 end/sec net usually being good enough.
You always have to take into account your attacks and End crashes from hasten, or rage, etc. But 2 end/sec is a very good place to start. -
Fire/Dark is really popular for good reason. Go back a page or 2 and there should be a tread or 2 with plenty of builds for ya.

What are you guys tactics on pylon soloing on your fire/cold.
I was waiting for a LGTF team to fill up the other day and was playing around with a pylon. I was definately going to take it down but about the 4-5 minute mark I was about only half done when I stoped because the team filled up and the first mission was up. -
I'll second Fire/cold's awesomeness, but if your worried about the cold blooming late I'd go Fire/rad.
It is nearly as good late game, but you get your big debuffs way earlier. Your only buff is AM and its an AOE team buff with a large radius that is pretty easy to get perma. -
I'd move the Numina's proc to Health and put a regular Heal IO in physical perfection. I wouldn't really bother with the Regen Tissue proc it's benefit is very minimal on WP. Putting that Heal IO in Phys Perf is going to give you about the same as the regen tiss proc.

WOW its on 90 sec recharge! I thought it would be atleast 5min or somthing like that.
I've been unable to log in since tuesday because of RL junk and probably won't be able to tonight either.
What is the timer on the other click powers? Lore, and destiny? -
DM/SD scrapper is the way to go for Melee. In my experiance DM is miles better on a scrapper than a brute and SD is only marginally better on a brute.
I love my Fire/SD scrapper too but that little heal in DM makes a huge difference in toughness. -
I guess I wasn't clear. What I mean is that the assassin strike activation time is long enough that your better off using your dps attack chain in PVE. Especially on the trials where all the AOE's are going off around the AV's interupting an AS activation.
-
I wouldn't say that a few more stalkers would be nice. Even with 3-4 assassin strikes on an AV is not as strong vs a good dps attack chain.
What I'd really like to see is some more planning in forming the League. 4 tanks, a widow, a corr, a brute (me), and 3 blasters doesn't seem to be the best team make up.
I understand though everybody is playing their favorite toon to get the new shiny, (me included) but after having my SS/WP who basically hasn't died from anything PVE since i18 dropped face plant a million times in one mission wasn't great fun.
Tonight, I think I'm going to try to whip up the Coalilition to form a well built League and beat this thing into the ground. -
The Commando's are IMMUNE to ANY type of control. What you need to do is not try to slow them or hold or immobilize or whatever and just kill them. Get the higher Dmg AT's like scrappers, blasters, or even brutes to go after them and let the control and other types take the others that actually can be held, slowed, or whatever.
I haven't completed the trial either but I've never been on a team that had a problem with the escapee's part. The part that always get us is the battle with Seige and the tons of 9cu's that spawn. -
The FF proc will work on the player, but the problem is it only checks on the initial click and not for every target hit by the power. It acts like it would when its in a single target attack. So it works but its not going to be really worth the slot.
-
Yeah, I'm prob not running it quite gapless, but the gap seems to be less that the animation of an extra smite (which isn't really proc'd has a set of ToD so just 1 dmg proc.) I only have about 80% global recharge w/o hasten. So I was prob buffed and not paying attention.
-
My DM/SD felt pretty much unstoppable the entire ride 1-50. Plus it can do some really amazing things end game with set bonuses and Incarnate.
edit: I'd run around with some blue inspirations in your tray though. -
I'd also suggest SS/WP. It is the classic do anything well combo. WP makes up for all then endurance problems associated with the rage crash and the mitigation from footstomp helps the survivabilty of any secondary.
Plus with some investment Willpower can become basically unkillable in nearly all content. -
Most of the time (when hasten is up) on my DM/SD I seem to be able to skip one of the smites and run MG > SL > Smite and then repeat. Wouldn't that be better? IDK I basically only run teams. Maybe I was buffed and didn't realize it. I'm kinda new to the optimal dps chain thing. I'm more of a run in and kill things however it works kinda guy.
-
Plus if you go with a Corrupter you don't have to wait until lvl 20 to leave the terribleness of blue side.
-
If you have Accuracy and tohit from set bonuses you won't miss Aim on a Kinetics. Fulcrum shift will make up for it and much, much more.
