Zombie Man, she said "little in the costume creator" not "nothing in the costume creator."
If you want to contradict that argument, it's necessary to show that that is more than "a little" in the costume creator that looks like actual lingerie. Which is to say, one picture will not refute her argument.
And while that does look like underwear, it's not as frilly as I expect something called "lingerie" to be. -

Quote:Wow. Totally fail on the use of English. Entitling something "Reverse... X" is not saying that *everything* is *exactly reversed* like some absurd Bizarro universe. It's a figure of speech.
"Zombie Man, your premise that these are 'Reverse' times is absurd. In Victorian times people had their skin on the outside but their internal organs on the inside. But since I see no one with their skin on the inside and their internal organs on the outside, you have absolutely no point!!.
That wasn't the argument you were making. If you had said "In victorian times, people went around dressed from head to toe and had all of their internal organs on the inside of their skin, these days, the situation is reversed" that would have been my response.
If you had said "women were expected to cover as much skin as possible" and "today the situation is almost entirely reversed" I wouldn't be saying anything because, while I wouldn't agree, you'd be able to argue your point.
But the way you structured your argument: Women dressed this way, now women dress that way and men dress this way; the situation has been reversed. That structure implies that originally Women dressed this way and men dress that way.
The failure to express a meaning clearly is not on my side of the monitor. -
Quote:Well, even if we allow the outlandish premise that women are expected to wear next to nothing now, which I do not feel is remotely the case, especially with "**** shaming" as prevalent as it is, the rest of his argument doesn't follow at all.Care to spell out how exactly, he is wrong in his statement?
Zombie Man has defined "Reverse Victorian Sexism" as women must wear next to nothing, men must be dressed from head to toe. He contrasts this to Victorian sensibilities in which women must be covered from head to toe.
This implies that in Victorian Sensibilities, men should be dressed in next to nothing, which is clearly not the case.
In Victorian Sensibilities, men are also supposed to be dressed from head to toe, as little skin exposed as possible.
Therefore, Reverse Victorian would imply that now men and women should both be dressed in next to nothing. This is clearly not the case either.
Since no argument for the term "Reverse Victorian Sexism" is applicable, Zombie Man must be entirely wrong. -
Quote:Zombie Man, you write some excellent guides, but you're remarkably wrong in this situation.Which brings me to my next rant on societal sexism: The Reverse Victorian.
In the Victorian age, modesty for females meant being covered from neck to wrist to ankle, even at the beach. Now, it's expected, AT FORMAL EVENTS, for women to wear as little as possible: sleeveless, shoulderless, strapless, backless, plunging, and mini. You've come a long way, baby: From being covered up because you were some man's property to almost showing it all so you can be every man's property.
And at these Black Tie affairs and Red Carpet Events, how are the men dressed? Covered from neck to wrist to ankle. -
An actual issue I haven't seen reported in here:
The right arm clips with the new steam jump, but only in females that I've noticed. (I have no huge characters, so I can't speak for them). -
-
Let me just say that what is being pointed out is not sexism in costume choices, but rather Lack of Gender Parity or perhaps Gender Inequity in Costume Choices.
-
-
I'm being stymied by the lack of a "Dress Shirt 2" in tights options.

The Guy who says "GORDON'S ALIVE!" is now King Henry, and he was once Antonio from "Much Ado About Nothing"
-
For some reason you typed "Captain Stupid" and I read that at "Captain Dynamic" and I was getting ready to defend that City of Heroes advertising campaign.
-
The Perez Park Play Company liked to switch things up from the traditional presentation. They typically re-wrote Hamlet so that Hamlet and Ophelia were brother and sister.
The story of Oedipus became a one-woman play. -
Spiritual? If I switch to spiritual, that build I posted goes up from 384 to 399. Without spiritual, but adding three purple IOs, I can get up to 392.
-
It's a cool video, but I don't much care for the song.

Nice Defensive values Beefcake, but your regen is fairly low.

I don't bother getting most IOs until 47 because they're usually cheaper at level 50. Besides, if I can get to level 47 with Single Origin Enhancement, soloing primarily, then I can exemplar down and do fine without the set bonuses. Provided, of course, that I don't do anything stupid like underslotting Kiji-In Rin for recharge because I have 76% global recharge at 50.
-
I just think this would be a nice change for escort missions when hide doesn't work and might be helpful at lower levels when stalkers don't have many attacks.
I'm not sure if it would help DPS at all on trials or the like, though. -

Quote:There's also the case of "Grant Cover" wherein all the team members get a defense buff, but the caster does not.I believe AoE buffs don't have to affect the caster. I can't find any data that supports it, but I don't believe that Cimeroran Shout of Command affects the caster. The caster never gets the "Clear Mind glow", and I'm positive I've mezzed the caster after or during their casting of that power, even when I can't mez their allies.
If they don't want to give the caster the buffs, I'm entirely certain they can make the caster ineligible for their own buffs.
I'm also certain that endurance won't be a concern because they can scale endurance cost to the number of targets hit by the buff, which should never be higher than 8 (but probably won't be higher than 7)
Edit: Oh, right... pets. Yeah.. that could get expensive. -
Quote:If it does allow the caster to get the buffs, of which I'm not certain, because it does specify eligible, it won't help solo players, because they'll still need to target someone else to cast the AoE buff.On the other hand, if these AoE buffs affect the caster as well -- and it would make sense if they did, because that's how all AoE buffs work -- then it's pretty sweet. If so, you're going to see the population of FF defenders, corruptors and controllers increase drastically after 20.5.
Also, since the note says "group area buffs" I wonder if this means you'll no longer be able to buff people you aren't teamed with. -
Read the note: within 30 feet of the targeted character. Not within 30 feet of the caster. So you target the tank and it'll hit the scrapper beside her too.
