Happy belated Birthday, OSHA!!!
It sounds like you're celebrating the right way! Enjoy the larger monitor *starts looking at adds for new larger widescreen monitor for self for Father's Day....*! -
Looking forward to it!
Being a (other dimension) Champion Tanker Tuesday participant, it will be great to get some time and teaming with my tanks on this server!
Let me know what I can help with! Most of my tanks are low level though(<lvl 15).
Great idea, and glad to see it happening here! -
Greetings all! The Villain Group (VG), ATLANTIC KINGDOM, a 2-year old ocean/sea-themed undersea kingdom of villains!
We are a casual group, looking for mature (in game play standards, not age) players who are looking to level either through normal gameplay or even AE missions. We even have our own AE mission (see sig)!
VG Name: ATLANTIC KINGDOM
Website: http://atlantickingdom.webs.com
Leader or Recruiting Officers: King Dolphin (@Major Deej)
Preferred Method of contact: ingame email, or our VG website (via our Message Boards)
Guild Description: Motto: The Ocean Is Ours to Rule
The VG has a variety of characters, all based on sea creatures, fish, sharks, or any other aquatic-themed toons. The base is small, but has all forms of storage, medical bay, and invention table.
The only mandate we ask is for players to be in SG Mode up to Level 25; that's it! You do not have to play every 'x' amount of days, or have to do 'x' amount of prestige per month! This is a CASUAL group that just enjoys an ocean theme and villainous teaming!
The greatest thing about this VG is you get an opportunity to make a sea-themed villain, where there are very few in game, and actually have a home well suited for them! The options are limitless! Give it a shot!
Contact me @Major Deej for any additional details or to join the ATLANTIC KINGDOM! -
This is an update to our VG, CRIMEWAVE!!
CRIMEWAVE
Motto: "Crime DOES Pay!"

Recruiting?: Yes. Casual VG. GREAT place to place some of your villainous Guardian toons.
RP Level: Not normally done, but definately not discouraged!.
Theme/Concept: Criminal. Crime. Thieves. Looters. Embezellers. Gun-For-Hire. Mercenaries. Mafioso.
Activity: On during anytime of the weekend, sometimes during weeknights after 7pm Eastern
Requirements for Membership: No mandates! All we ask is to be in SG Mode between Levels 1 and 25; that's it! It's a casual group, so don't worry about getting 'kicked' for not playing once every 100 days or so like some other SGs/VGs!
Leadership: 'Crimemaster' is the current ingame VG leader
In-Game Contact(s): @Major Deej
Out-of-Game Contact(s):Major_Deej in the CoH/V forums, or in the "Message Boards" feature on our VG website.

Greetings, villains! This is an update to a group of Arachnos-themed VGs available on Freedom red side!
Looking for a casual, yet active band of villains? A group that doesn't require you to play a kajillion hours per month just to stay in the membership? A VG that doesn't demand what costume to wear? Look no further! Arachnos is hiring!
We have a 4-group band of themed VGs with a huge coalition tied to each VG. Here are links to our websites for these VGs:
Knights of Arachnos
Legion of Arachnos
Champions of Arachnos
Mystics of Arachnos
The KNIGHTS OF ARACHNOS VG is a stronghold of casual players and their level 50s with an expansive, large base with everything you couild ask for. The theme has related to masterminds, stalkers and brutes with natural/technology themed villain characters, but you are not required to only have these AT types to be part of the Knights!
The LEGION OF ARACHNOS VG is a location for alts that aren't played as much, but still want access to the large and busy coalition teaming options. The AT-spectrum for this Vg is across the board. Most characters in this VG are corruptors, dominators or Masterminds. This base is and shall be the raidable base whenever that gets turned back on.
The CHAMPIONS OF ARACHNOS is the #1 "Arachnos" (type in "Arachnos" in the Search section of the SG Registration search) VG on all of Freedom (in terms of prestige)! It is the most active group with dozens of players on at any given time, covering the natural, science and mutant origins. Stalkers, Corruptors and Brutes make up most of this group. This group is known for high amounts of teaming and sometimes farming of missions/badges/AE. The base is gigantic, with an incredible array of base items, especially our enormous "Champions Arena" room (can't do Arena fights in there, but looks like a galdiator-like collosieum).
The MYSTICS OF ARACHNOS are the newest group, obviously with a theme of magical origins. All AT types are available here, so long as they have a natural or magic origin. This group has access to many magic-based enhancements and salvage. The base is well built and VERY stylish!
We hold MANY events and activities, to include Flashback Fridays, Strike Force Saturdays, Badge Hunt Sundays, and annual events and costume contests, that normally includes participation from all four VGs and our coalition mates.
We pride ourselves in helping out newer players or those that are not familiar with the 'villains' side of the game.
There is no mandatory requirement for costumes prestige per month or that you have to have an Arachnos-themed character to join. All we do ask is to play in SG Mode up to and including level 25. That's it!
Each base provides everything you need to access storage, medical, invention workbench, mission computer, flashback missions, and more!
If you are interested, or would like some more information about any one of these VGs, contact me via my global @Major Deej. I use the ingame email system, or you can contact me via the "Shoutout!" function on each of our VG websites. For ingame contacting, I'm normally online after 6pm Eastern time, and on most all of the weekend.
Each VG has its own website and are part of the cross-server megagroup, the 'Major Deej Universe' (see sig below (My SGs and VGs). These websites contain webpages for news, event calendar, and even our own forums!
I truly hope your search is over in finding one of these four VGs as a new home for your villainous Freedom character! -
Greetings all! The Supergroup, CIVIL AIR PATROL, a 2-year old SG, is a casual, journey-based band of heroes with a great base! We are looking for mature players who are looking to level either through AE or normal gameplay.
Supergroup Name: CIVIL AIR PATROL
Website: http://www.freewebs.com/cohcap
Leader or Recruiting Officers: Major Deej or Civil Air Patrolman (both via global @Major Deej), Wing Knut, sgt. grayson
Preferred Method of contact: ingame email, or our SG website (via our Shoutout! function)
Guild Description: Motto: Semper Vigilans - Always Vigilant
The core focus on the group's dynamics are based on the three legs of what Civil Air Patrol is in RL: Cadet Program (teens), Emergency Services, and Search and Rescue (SAR).
Our heroes are set to aid and assist the citizens of Paragon City and Rhode Island by supporting other hero team missions, or, as the organization did in WWII, actively go out and attack the enemy (they did this with private airplanes with bombs strapped to them; they actually sunk a German U-Boat off the east coast in 1942!).
The SG's history is thus:
The Civil Air Patrol (CAP), an auxiliary of the United States Air Force, with it's wing headquarters based in Paragon City, RI, was devastated as a result of the Ritki Wars. Most CAP members went out to save the populace and heroes, providing Emergency Services and Disaster Relief, but were cut down just like any combatant in the war.
In 2007, Civil Air Patrol reformed in Paragon City, under the leadership of Civil Air Patrolman, a surviving member from the first Ritki War. In time, he amassed a group of empaths, defenders, and controllers to be able to once again help the citizens of Paragon City. They're timing couldn't have come at a better time, as the 2nd Ritki Invasion occurred.
After many grueling months of operating with minimal resources and saving and helping as many heroes as possible, they achieved recognition from Statesman himself, authorizing the group to attain "super group" status. As such, they were included in the security levels, organizations, and communications network that exists today between any and all supergroups.
Recently, the Civil Air Patrol overheauled its base, establishing a Rapid Resonse Teleporter system (RRTS), with teleporters to many of the local zones. As such, they have also participated in some unique, yet secretive "Flashback" missions, supposedly going back in time to aid others when they couldn't before.
With an expansive Mission Coordination Center and an incredible Logistics and Invention Section, the Civil Air Patrol has indeed become a vanguard to their true motto:
SEMPER VIGILANS - Always Vigilant!!! -
The same thing has happened to me on one of my bases that I hadn't accessed in months. I had paid the rent in a timely manner, never more than 2 weeks beyond the due date, I had prestige still in the SG, however, power was off.
I submitted a ticket to the GMs; they stated that this does happen "now and then"; within a day, I was back to a full powered base like as if nothing ever happened.
Put in a ticket for it. It should get resolved quickly. -
1) Sands of Mu (use it every time I play a character)
2) Wings
3) Nemesis Staff
4) Free Costume change tokens
5) Trenchcoats -
Low 20s did did a great job!
After my initial stumbling around to get a good mish set, we finally found some Montague arc mishes for the Midnighters. We even saved a Ritki.
Everyone leveled at least twice, for those that started with the team from the get go.
Had a great time. Once again, Tanker Tuesday rules!
Well done -
Congrats, Cherokee!!
It is always a good day when you're able to bring a new life into the world!
Major Kudos from Major Deej! -
Thank you for hosting the costume contest last night! It was indeed an excellent opportunity to check out all the new costume styles with the new booster pack as well as a chance to see your incredible base.
My toon was Mexican Eagle, and I was surprised to win first against the other incredible entries! They all gave me ideas for other characters I have, so thank you to all who participated in the CC and helped 'inspire' me for other ideas!
Your base looks fantastic! I'm sure you'll be happy to get back to building once they fix the current base bugs (I know I can't wait to get back to the world of stacking myself!).
I'll try and show for your SG anniversary, pending my insane RL work schedule. Good group to hang with!
Gracias, mi amigos!!! Oh,....and....er...ah.....TEQUILA! lol
Cya soon! Keep up the great work!! -
Welcome EMPulse ...back to the folds of CoH!
I hope you are ready for this group!
Of those that have entered this position; it seems most can be described, at the end of their CR run, as experiencing something to the effect of looking as if they ran in, sliding in sideways, with a mai tai in one hand and a thesaurus in the other, out of breath, hair wind-blown and an exhuberant face, stating "wow! what a ride!" (all paraphrasing the late George Carlin).
I hope you too are ready for the rollercoaster ride that is CoH!
Welcome aboard! -
Ex,
As I started reading through these forums this morning to come across this post, I was truly struck with a blow. Ex is leaving us.
My mind swam in many different directions as I read your post, hoping that this was a situation that you were happy and comfortable with. From your writings, it seems that is the case.
Ex, you have been the pinnacle of community service to this game. IT is obvious in each event, City Scoop, image posting, PERC, PVPec, etc., that you could have taken the easy road. Instead you became synonymous with the culture and lore that the developers and staff of City of Heroes has brought forth. You have made an impact here.
When I had questions, you answered. When I needed assurance on a particular piece of information, you were there to ensure it did not get blown out of proportion. You managed what could be easily construed as the most daunting task of 'herding cats' in these forums by keeping the forums focused, relavant and as professional as can be for an MMO site.
Each day I would go to the "Community Digest" first to see what was the 'official' word, and, as usual, you never disappointed me with your timely and constructive efforts.
Ex, you will be missed. Count one more person in the wall of tick marks that agree that you have indeed conducted a "job well done".
You will be missed. -
OK, here's the positive and the negative (not necessarily in that order):
NEGATIVE -
1. The NCStore website needs an upgrade/overhaul for usability, especially during these crunch times. Key issues were:
a. Enormous lag from the NCSoft website/pages during release dates such as this Super Booster Pack II.
b. The security image that you apply at the end of the credit card input page rotates out way too fast, due to the lag of the security image showing and the poor quality of the different font-styled security alphanumerics made it very difficult to distinguish a "Q" from an "O" or a "7" from a "T". Slowed up the process, thus keeping more people online longer. Trying to struggle through this security feature a couple times to get it right was irritating. You need a better security screen.
c. The confirmation of purchase screen did not appear after the credit card input/security page, thus preventing the purchaser from truly knowing if the purchase occurred; in one instance for me, I received an 'error' stating to redo the purchase, yet it DID go through (this worked to my advantage since my family is on my account, but not an advantage for the standard player/account).
2. Costumes -
a. Was sad to find the new folded split front boots for the males only; would like to see for females.
POSITIVE -
1. The Super Booster Pack II: Magic costumes are indeed incredible quality! The detail, crispness and imaged depth of the costumes once again proves that Sexy Jay is the uberness! These costumes will and shall be used in many of my characters and concepts; Major Kudos from Major Deej on this!!!!!
Overall, I am impressed with the Booster Pack; I am not impressed with the NCSoft Website/Store. It would also be nice to see the new boxed set, Architect Edition, in the NCSoft store as well. -
I have a character named "Mad Halloween Jack" (magic/zombies/dark MM) that this set will be the pinnacle of his wardrobe!!!
This is indeed a fantastic set Sexy J!!!
Major Kudos from Major Deej!
-
WIN! WIN! WIN!
This is full of win!
I have characters that can definitely use these costumes and emotes!
Not only will I be buying this for myself, but the whole family as an Easter gift!
Well done, devs! This is going to worth the $$!

Well posted, Bill. An excellent point of view on this.
Of the discussions thusfar, I will admit I cannot prove all my discussion with my 25 SGs and VGs that I am part of/lead, and the ensuing discussions as related to Tanker Tuesday. I will admit that my reasoning for not recording and logging chats about an event such as this obviously didn't warrant enough merit against the entertainment/social factor that I play this game for. Shame on me. I obviously now need to record my chats to explain myself. I stand chastised.
All of your points have merit, Bill.
I too, consider a SG of 5 years of life to truly be a momentous accomplishment, yet the SG unto itself, if it still exists, is a legacy unto itself, so long as the SG and/or base stand. You have something that CAN be seen as a true current representation: your SG name, your base, websites about your VG, posts of all the accomplishments you've done, et al. The SG itself is a marker of its accomplishments; Tanker Tuesday doesn't have that other than what is posted in Scoop articles, websites and forum posts. There is no active representation for it.
I grant you, Tanker Tuesday is cornerstoned in Champion, yet players came to Champion server to be part of it, engendering community.
If it seemed that I implied 'everyone', then my meaning wasn't taken to the correct effect. Players on other servers, in discussions about Tanker Tuesday with me, were excited about the idea of attending; they would make a new toon on Champion just to be part of it. For the few I obviously know across the servers, they seem to keep coming back to TT when they can, pending RL.
What the point is, in regards to this simple plaque relating to Tanker Tuesday, is that it's meant to say that a good, solid, dynamic event that could have died several times over - didn't.
It persevered.
It remained consistent.
It battled through 5 years of not having to be maintained, yet was.
It operated as strong as a "tank"; it took hits, and still kept going, shooting a salvo every first Tuesday of each month for all to rally to.
I find that unto itself heroic and noteworthy, and as such agree to something as a marker.
I don't diminish other events, SGs/VGs for their duration or dynamics; it is part of our player-made canon, if you will; just as Tanker Tuesday is for some who wish to grant it a marker or representation.
As such, I understand your points, Bill. I'm afraid you and I (and some others) are at an impasse. I appreciate your positive discussion about this Bill; you'd be a good statesman.
-
Interestingly enough, as stated by several posters in this thread, that they haven't even experienced a Tanker Tuesday, nor for some, play Tankers, yet you argue to the relevancy of this request.
Plaques, statues, and 'souvenirs' have been made in-game by the developers based on a storyline, CoH canon, or simply just 'placing' the item there for aesthetics.
How can a simple, innocuous plaque honoring a long standing community event be a threat to you? Why is it that you feel it is undeserving?
Those fighting this request, from what I have read in their posts, have yet to sway me that a consistently, well-done event such as this should not earn a simple in-game marker to denote a milestone and a community achievement.
Far more sinister people and events in real life have earned plaques and recognition for dastardly and evil things ("Lizzy Bornden House" in Massachusetts, for example)? THis game is entertainment; in several years this game may be a fond memory for most of us, but, I cannot understand how a request for a piece of digital art in the game to recognize the efforts of the dynamic Tanker Tuesday participants and community for 5 years can foster such discontent.
An article in the Scoop is indeed a writing that will be seen once; an 'object' such as a tank or a 'tanker' statue are a good idea, but they do NOT honor what the item is FOR.
A plaque with simple words could honor and identify a consistent event that has touched many in the game.
And as for comments of 'speaking for the masses', I am not speaking for you as forumites; I refer to those I have and continue to game with "In-Game", not just this exclusive band of texters. Nearly all of those I chat with in the game (which far outnumber the posters here) have stated they think its 'a good idea' (to summarize their statements).
We have asked for this; you have stated your piece. I respect that. Understand though, this is a simple request; we are not asking for plaque off the Mall in Washington D.C.; we are not asking for a national holiday. This is no different than honoring a community event that has engendered the finer qualities of the game.
Again, this is a little plaque in a remote corner of a zone in a video game; how does this harm you? This plaque can simply identify that those participating in this consistent, positive, and note-worthy event should encourage you to try something as dedicated and dynamic as this itself.
Consistency and quality are still considered quality traits today, eh? -

And, really, a small plaque does very little to alter the landscape. It isn't something that would be required for the history badges, nor would it be the only one not required for a badge. I'd bet that a lot of people don't even notice most of the city plaques, they are small and this isn't a heavy traffic area. Basically- it wouldn't harm anything to have a tiny detail like this added.
[/ QUOTE ]
It would be a small reminder of the events achievement, with nothing attached to it, in an obscure location, which is only filled with activity the first Tuesday of every month during Tanker Tuesday.
TT has run successfully for half a decade, and continues to be as popular as year number one.
It wouldn't be a slight at all to any server, as players have happily gathered to one location every month since 2004, just so they can meet up with likeminded enthusiasts at a really unique event.
TT is the only event that has run for sixty consecutive months and continues unabated, if you'd like to say there should be a standard met before a player[s] created event could be considered for a small token like this, Tanker Tuesday is the standard, at half a decade for sixty consecutive months (Oct 6) and counting.
Upsen_Downs "Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls.", comments way back when led to an actual in game reward, a badge, the TT plaque wouldn't be in the same hemisphere as that, it would just be a small clicky reminder of the ongoing achievement.
Events have been started over the years for many different AT's, Blasters, Controllers, Defenders. Tank enthusiasts have kept this event thriving for so many years, much like Harley Davidson rallies where inexplicably bankers and doctors mingle in with an eclectic group who share each others interests.
I think the above quote is pretty reasonable in summing it up. =T

My first exciting experience in this game that cemented my stay for the last 27+months was this - TANKER TUESDAY.
As a new player, I was in awe at the incredible amount of camaraderie, friendship, helpfulness and selflessness the TT players that I was teamed with provided. After a couple missions, and some great in-game conversations, I was hooked on City of Heroes.
Not long after, I was able to attend a Tanker Tuesday Anniversary, where Tankers marched from zone to zone, arriving at the Tanker statue (the one with the "Tanker" badge). Group shots were taken and many wonderful events ensued. The line of tankers stretched for block after block for some of the contests. Multiple zones were created simply due to the influx of tankers. I had NEVER seen anything like this in any MMO or other game for that matter. Between getting a yellow title, seeing the Dev characters, such as Back Alley Brawler and Castle, I was lucky enough to win the 'best battlecry' award for my character, "Captain Battleship". It was indeed an incredible, magical moment.
The gist of what I am trying to point out is that for those on the Champion server that have participated in this incredible and fun event, it is indeed an experience that creates a moment in gaming that we all have experienced at one time or another, that I affectionately dub as "video zen"; a moment in your gaming experience that you will always remember with a fond recollection. For most, this 'zen' is experienced when the game is new, fresh and challenging. THIS event, Tanker Tuesday, has been my 'video zen' in this game and the only one I've had in any MMO.
After 5 years of consistent effort, providing memories for nearly every player who has ever experienced "Tanker Tuesday", I wholeheartedly agree with Ace Mace and all the incredible Championites that continue to provide the community with the BEST event ever, that a small plaque in this game is truly a notable and worthy request.
Devs, the masses have requested for a plaque to be placed in- game and in-zone to honor those that have created one of the most incredible and dynamic community-created events ever. I submit to you, the designers, developers, administrators, and the the makers of City of Heroes/Villains to honor this incredible event that is "Tanker Tuesday".
If you have ever participated in a Tanker Tuesday, you will understand how incredible and worthy this request is.
Make it so. -
Excellent and informative guide!
When the VEATs first came out, I made a character named "Gold Huntsman" JUST for this particular path. I hadn't seen any write-ups on following the Huntsman's path until today, and I am a happy camper now!
Thanks for taking the time out to do this. All looks good, and I am anxious now to take my level 23 Wolf Spider to the Hunstman path more than ever! -
Once again, DR, you have outdone yourself!
I am impressed with the antici............pation from shot to shot, melded with the text and quote. My hat is off to you.
In the Navy, when a job is considered 'well done', we simply say to the hard worker, "Bravo Zulu"!
"BRAVO ZULU" to you DR!! VERY well done, indeed.
And if I may, I am in agreement with most folks of this post: DR needs to be hired to design and produce video PR for this game, period.
The advertising of this game needs a MAJOR overhaul for Issue 14. This Issue is TOO IMPORTANT to just leave to 'word of mouth'. This would bring back MANY old timers to the game, guaranteed.
All it takes is Issue 14 going live, DR at the helm of video PR production for CoH/V, and a nice paycheck for her.
Make it so, Number One!!!

We want to hear your feedback on this years Winter Event.
Please use this thread to post about any bugs you have found as well as any suggestions you may have for us.
[/ QUOTE ]
OBJECTIVE: 1) If members of a team do not personally take the Father Time mission, they will not be able to choose a Candy Cane reward upon team mission completion in the mission is someone else's or you don't choose 'yes' to a completion of the duplicate mish if you have it. This should not even be a concern. Anyone who joins a BNY mish team should NOT have to have a BNY mish in their inventory to receive awards; this is not the case with other mishes in the game, why here?
2) Yellow arrows to gates are not detailed well. The arrows should be better aligned on the course with the gates. This causes 50/50 choices at splits wherein one path does not lead to a gate; not a good method or path system.
SUBJECTIVE:
1) CHANGE THE DANG BABY OUT WITH A BETTER LOOKING BABY!! Not the mongoloid baby we always see. PLEASE!!! If you continue to do the BNY mishes, PLEASE fix the baby!
2) Ice skating area/pond out on the open slope areas for others to have fun on.
3) New costume item - ice skates! (to use on the new icy pond in the common Winter Event area). Make the ice skates laced-up and available for ALL pants options.
4) New costume item - Santa Jacket with fluffy fun edging and a optional SOLID fat and wide buckled belt.
5)NEW WINTER MISH (in addition to BNY mish):
The BNY mish system, although notably generic and doesn't offend anyone in particular requires replacement.
Instead, a mish that deals with CoT magically placing the 'presents' all over the other zones should be the theme; stop the CoH from creating/producing the 'snowbeast/Winter Lord' presents in the zones with a cave/tunnel mish that instead has CoT. Have the CoT 'caught' in the act of magically altering stacks of presents in the cave. At the end of the mish several of these packages can be opened by other team players, that way ALL players have to go to the caves, reducing the need for farming/grinding. Everyone gets the same rewards as this year's for mish completion, but you put presents IN the cave so that those DOING the work get to get extra presents/snowbeast/Winter Lord option in the cave. It's fairer and gives those doing the real work, more rewards.
Other than that, I have once again enjoyed the Winter Event with the exception of the ski courses; I do not have the ability to do twitch games, nor the patience to waste hours to get one silly subjective badge, if I'm lucky. I dislike the timed requirements for these mishes, though I understand your reasoning for them. I still don't like them.
