  1. Well I've personally played a DB Stalker to level 5 and thanks to the level bump on test, I have one at 36 (DB/Willpower). Generally I'll post in here and insta-kill the thread but I'll throw in some more observations from the sets you've got

I found the DB attacks to be effective most of the time but geared more to the 'lets herd to a corner' tactic to take advantage of the cone attack moves, which means a fair bit more endurance getting used. I kept running out of endurance -either from not having Stamina or from not doing enough critical strikes/causing enough damage. Was forgetting that two of the DB moves do knockup so as long as you have those available and not sapping your blue bar too much you'll be fine. The longer animations from the attacks I'm guessing make using Reconstruction sometimes difficult mid fight? I find that in them middle of using Divine Avalanche/Soaring Dragon

I think the Regen element is pretty decent all things considered - the only times it gets _really_ hard is when your in the 40-50 range and fighting Arachnoids who spit -Regen attacks on you. At level 35 I took Resiliance, as without it (when lackied up) the Malta guys were giving problems with stuns (later spent some inf and got those status protection IO's to help combat fear effects as well). I've no idea how MoG is going to turn out - I just know that I like the reduced recharge and removal of -health and regen, its the duration time of 15 seconds that seems 'meh'.

All I can say is that if on soloing you can AS kill one of three in a spawn, juggle another so it can't attack you and work on the third in safety, then theres nothing wrong On a team your somewhat more lucky as not only can you do normal tactics but act as a squishy bodyguard and with care, plow along with some cone damage, attacking the rear of the brutes herd.

I would certainly not say your wasting time as in two levels you get the 'best' attack and access to the lovely level 35 IO's. Your already past the hardest part, it just gets easier and easier really.
  2. Its a self buff only and won't help out any pets you have out at the time.
  3. The really sad thing about the people who took Ghost Widow as their Dominator patron when the powers first came out, were led to believe that Dark Consumption recharged a heck of a lot faster than it does now (cos the info displayed was wrong)

I took GW on my Ice/Psi and while I knew the power choices were 'weaker' than what I could get from Scriocco or Mako, I do _love_ my Dark Obliteration AoE and the pet is a great ranged sniper The set just needs Dark Consumption to be buffed or outright replaced to make it more popular (imho).
  4. For me the 'team friendly' Stalker is just one who's got the key powers and has some clue as to how to slot them

Recall Friend and possibly Stimulant (the ally status effect protection/removal power) is typically the best pool powers to have - the first handy if you want Teleport as your travel power. Getting Assault and Tactics can be handy too but with this powerset combo, maybe too tight for luxerys.

However unlike Ninja Blade, you will have almost no protection from damage so it may be worthwhile to see how often that 'Sweep' combo can be up.
  5. "Calm down dear its just Dimension Shift"

If we see this in our team text box then we know that either Blind Minotaur is about to faceplant or we aggroed a second spawn again - with someone else about to faceplant
  6. Yeah it was a welcome change to get into RWZ and see just how well we could do with smaller numbers. Did well and was the most fun I've had on the Traps team for quite a while.
  7. It may not make any difference but word from Castle is that he's gone and buffed the damage from Repulsion Bomb - alas I know not the values.
  8. I'll be there untill the power fails me
  9. Still a concern that your not taking your robot henchman powers as soon as they are available - for me a 'must' regardless of your secondary and gameplay focus

Prot Bots @12 and Assault Bot @26 please

I see only have one travel power is that the norm with stalkers coz I went with hasten and I am now leve l2 with the intention to take super jump at some point?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unless you plan on PvP-ing alot more than doing PvE, I'd never go for two travel powers on any AT. Just personal preferance really - I'm in the camp that thinks a power in the primary/secondary has more value than a second travel power

I think there is very little info about /da for stalkers, most of the info about the individual powers can be taken from mids, guides about /da for scrappers/brutes with a few differences.

Em/da i can see as being very end heavy, and probably not the best in pvp, but I dont see why it wouldnt work, its just a case of making it work. But then for me, /da never made much sense of stalkers anyways.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I love my Stalkers and this EM/DA combo has me thinking of a possible new alt Seem to recall some US PvP's saying they actually skipped on the two shields and only took the mez protection one in favour of phase shift

Essentially what I did was I had no travel power on my leveling up (mayhem temps ftw!). Think I finally respected it in once I hit level 28. I also only had Barrage (unslotted) and Bonesmasher untill level 47 when I took Energy Punch.
  13. Ported this into my Mids planner and kinda shaking my head at some of this

I'll start with the power choices of Aid Other and Aid Self. Many players have gone over the pros and cons of to have/have not and my own take is ... you really don't _need_ it. Handy yes but with /Traps having a ton of great powers, its something for maybe in the 44+ range.

Battle Drones = Looks great with 3acc/3dmg.

Web Nade = Kinda underslotted. This will get spammed alot, particulary on bosses so in SO terms I'd be going with recharges and an extra slot for end reduction if possible. The IO set Enfeebled Operation is your friend here tho once you hit 32+. Mix of Acc/End Red/Recharge helps alot.

Pulse Rifle Burst = Hmm to level up with then fair enough but I'd drop it once your level 32 unless its for some specific reason.

Caltrops = I like the SO slotting as having them stacked is really gonna do wonders However with more slotting and IO procs, this power becomes a real damage dealer

Equip Robot = Two end reds is really all you need here and even one level 50 IO would be sufficient. Only in PvP I can see a need for recharge here.

Hasten = Not _really_ required tbh as with decent slotted powers everything will be ready when required. It also ties you to the worst travel power in CoV. For me I'd be looking at Recall Friend/TP Foe, Combat Jumping or Hover for those travel powers.

Acid Mortar = One Acc, some defdebuff and recharge required. 1acc/2defdebuff/3recharge your looking at really.

Prot Bots = No heal? No end red? 2Acc/2heal/1def/1end red or swap the heal and def slotting around. Either way the little fellas use alot of endurance.

FF Gen = Yup nothing more needed here

Swift = Um well I'd have Hurdle if your dead cert on having SS. Repair would be my pick or Triage Beacon from the powers available so far.

Health = Really want Poison Trap here as soon as its available.

Stamina = It can wait till later.

Poison Trap = 3 recharge is all you need unless you want the Psi Proc dmg from the hold sets. Never ever slot for hold on this power.

Aid Other = See above and I just noticed its in here instead of Assault Bot which is not good

Assault Bot = Looks fine tho I'd prob go for an end red at the expense of an Acc.

Stealth = Seems a waste but with SS I can see where you might be coming from. If it were me, this is the latest I'd have TP Foe taken.

Upgrade = 2end red and your done really.

Trip Mine = 6 slots is good, no acc is very bad. Only the acc in the enhancements slotted in this power effect its chance to hit so 2acc/2rec red/2dmg is the simplest way to slot.

Seeker Drones = I'd strongly advise getting these at 28 and typical slotting is 1acc/3recharge red/1end red.

    Charged Armour = Good

Aid Self = Elec Fences ftw here!

Detonator = Never seen this power in use so can't comment.

Repair = Looks fine tho dont forget it can be used to top up a drained blue bar on a bot too.

Sorry for the long post but hope this helps
  14. Typically its 2Acc/3Dmg/1End Red SO levels and then a switch to the Hami-O's for the dual +Def+Tohit enhancements once your at level 50.

Failing that have the same Pet set x3 and use Gang War for the +def and +res specials (and the purple build up proc if you feel inclined/rich).

    Oo Happy Cake day Marquandance!

    Thankies

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Again happy birthday fella

On a Grav/Psi Dominator, the above advice is good Basically you'll be holding two foes with the single target hold, using lift on the foe your not using your secondary powers on. I'd perhaps have Air Sup in there for added control and have TK Thrust from the secondary for the same purpose. Damage levels are low early on, at least till Psi Scream (and it would need heavy slotting assuming you take a 50/50 power in terms of being good) or Subdue at 28. May as well make it safer with Air Sup/TK Thrust
  16. [ QUOTE ]
The ONLY thing I would like to see different about the FF powerset is a different colour bubble for PFF and Detention Field, so people can tell them apart from the rest.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well Detention Field has that ring effect around the captured foe but it does tend to get slightly hidden once Dispersion Bubble is over it. Tho its unlikely to happen and look downright silly, I'd love a big arrow and the words "YOU CAN'T DEFEAT THIS ENEMY FOR NOW" under the captured target
  17. It can be a fairly common problem in CoH and in CoV if the buffs/debuffs aren't coming when required/at all. Reasons can be anything from not knowing how the power works to just lazyness. All you can do is point out how the power works, its benefits to the _team_ (not just yourself) and if they can't learn then just adjust your playstyle to suit and make a note not to rely on them in future.

As you've played Empathy yourself you know that its totally unlike anything else hero side in that your focus is on that team window and status icons near all the time. To me that makes it a set that makes it unsuitable for first time players who will naturally want to see the eye candy that is the ingame engine
